While it doesn't tell us much more than what we saw in April at a Trade Show, this new image of a SH Figuarts Infinity War Hulk is now being circulated. The figure is based on the look of Hulk from the trailer more than anything as of course he didn't really make much of an appearance in the movie except at the start on the Asgard lifeboat. Hulk will come with at least three head options - screaming, angry and neutral - as well as hand options so you can choose between fists for smashing or open hands for gripping. Medicom will be releasing an Infinity War Iron-Spider in their MAFEX 1/12 line of figures. Spidey will come with his mechanical legs, and these are executed by a plug in back section. There will also be two head options with varying eye expressions and alternative hand options. Spider-webbing FX pieces are also included. There are also two alternative foot options containing magnets so Iron Spider can be posed on a wall - as long as its a metal surface - this is something MAFEX are doing on their comicbook Spider-Man. In Demand Toys have let their customers know that the Stan Lee BAF, which was leaked a few months back, is no longer coming with the Ross & Killmonger Marvel Legends 2-pack. Since the pack was leaked we have reported this release was one of two sets which include parts to build a Stan Lee 6" Marvel Legends figure, the other being Falcon & Winter Soldier from Infinity War. It seems that the inclusion of the Stan Lee BAF, which was never confirmed by Hasbro, has now been cancelled. What will happen to the planned BAF is not yet determined. Review : Heat Wave DC Collectables Wave/Series : DCTV (CW) Flash #04 Released : 2016 £19.99 The DC Collectable range of DC TV figures started in 2015 with a number of releases from Arrow. Towards the end of the first year the range was expanded to The Flash, and this continued into 2016. After figures of the titular Flash, Captain Cold and Reverse Flash - it was Heat Wave who got the 4th release in the Flash series. Like all DCC releases to date, the figure comes in a window box with the right hand window turning a angled corner round into the side. The predominant colouring is white, with The Flash logo sitting on the front and a red band sitting under this with the number 04. The character name is printed onto the window on the angled corner. The red band continues round the back where we get a larger Flash logo. There is no complex bio or figure details, just a traditional visual checklist of the other figures in the line. As the box turns back onto the other spine we get an expansion of the red band to incorporate a further Flash logo, character name and number. Above this is an image of the figure against a fiery backdrop - an apt background for this character. Heatwave is strapped into an inner tray with three twist ties. These need to be carefully removed as the paint used on these DCC figures is often chalky and easy to rub. The same can be said of removing the sellotape that is holding in the alternative hands. The inner tray is sat into a white cardboard insert, in the centre of which is a washed out flash logo in red and gold The figure in hand is heavy and bulky, it feels good quality. The likeness to actor Dominic Purcell is passing - perhaps a bit soft. The head is cast in a skin tone and has no additional tones added, not even a darker tone for the lips. The goggles are well done and are painted neatly with visible rivets and clasps on the straps. The hair is touch glossy, but has more than just a single brown tone - there is texture built into that paint job. There are a lot of decals on this figure, these do look a bit glossy where the backing translucent part of the decal contrasts the dull coat on the outfit. Around the back the Central City Fire Department logo appears to be stencilled. Heat Wave stands 6 3/4" high. This puts him larger than a standard 6" figure, but not quite as big as the 1/10 (7") figures from the likes of NECA and Diamond. Heat Wave is wearing the bulky Fire Department uniform and this has a lot of sculpted details with pockets, pouches and fastenings all built in. The colouring is pretty good with a grey base and a darker grey dry-brush to weather the suit and dirty it up. The boots are two tone with a grey stripe over the gloss black boots. While the DCC figures always look pretty impressive, the articulation is some way behind other figures. There are 14 points of articulation on the figure with the head starting us off on a ball joint. Disguised under the coat is a waist swivel, but it is just that a swivel - no ball joint to give Heat Wave any options for leaning in or out of a pose. The legs are peg mounted at the hip, a kind of hybrid of the Diamond T-joint hip and the standard ball joint. They do swing out and to the side, but are held back a little by the bottom of the coat. There is no thigh swivel so the next joint is the knee, which is double jointed. These work very well and the lower leg can practically fold back on its own thigh. We finish the legs with an ankle rocker under the pant leg. The arms are ball jointed shoulders which will raise to 90 degrees and the coat to the torso is flexible at the shoulder so even being bulky it doesn't restrict movement. The elbows are only a single rotating joint and the movement varies on each arm - the figures right getting a bit past 60 degrees, and the left going a bit further to 90 degrees. The hands are a pegged joint which rotates and is also designed to bend on the pivot to 90 degrees. Sadly the hands that are fitted with the figure and the others included do seem to be stuck in the neutral pose by the paint. They can be freed, but you do find the paint rubs and flakes as you do this. The hands are designed to be swapped out, and the ones fitted do snap out easily. Sadly the replacements are all poorly fitting and it is virtually impossible to force them in to sit flush with the sleeve. This makes the arms look peculiar and renders most of the replacement hands unuseable unless you are willing to start sanding down your pegs. Heat Wave comes with his flame gun as his sole accessory. This is a very well realised piece cast in a black plastic. There are some more flexible silver and bronze tubing added to this and more bronze trim on the gun. It fits into either of the two wider gripping hands, but the fit is tight. When we also consider the paints used are a bit flaky you will find the gun rubs paint off the hands and you do end up with some grey transfer onto the weapons grip. Action poses are kind of restricted by the arm joints to pointing with one hand, it is not really feasible to get a two handed pose. Heat Wave comes with a strap on his right thigh with a bracket to hang his weapon. Sadly this is not very well engineered either so while it has a hook, there is no corresponding fit on the weapon. The groove on the flamethrowers side seems the obvious match, but it simply falls off. The best I could get was to use the silver piping and hook this over the bracket to have it hang to Heat Wave's side. The RRP on these DCC figures is £20, the same as you would pay for a NECA, Hasbro or Diamond release of similar sizing. While these three companies continue to get better, it seems DCC may be getting a little left behind in terms of head sculpt / paint finish as well as articulation. The flaky paint and ill fitting hands are a frustration. And if you are going to put in a very obvious holster, it has to work with the weapon. That being said this is a bulky heavy figure, with a well sculpted and painted outfit. I score Heat Wave a 2 out of 5, but if you do find this figure cheaper (such as the recent £8 price in Home Bargains UK) then he becomes a lot more desirable. The future of the DCC line is not certain at present, but I would hope to see the character updated in the future with a Legends of Tomorrow release so we can add Mick Rory to our Legends display.

Pros : Good articulation. Suit has some nice touches with SHIELD logo's and "Rogers" name decals. Cons : Body is a bit out of proportion with very slim waist. Head sculpt on both heads is very generic 2014 was the year the Marvel Cinematic Universe was embraced into the Marvel Legends line. After the Guardians of the Galaxy wave and the Groot BAF, the next MCU releases came in a Captain America Winter Soldier themed wave with a comic-book Mandroid BAF. Captain America in his Stealth STRIKE suit was one of 4 MCU releases in the wave. He was released alongside a WW2 version of himself from the original Cap movie. We got our first Black Widow and the final MCU figure was the titular Winter Soldier. Cap and the Mandroid figures came in the scalloped side Legends packaging we know so well today. On the black background the box had a blue colour scheme with some nice line art of Cap down each side. Round the back is an image of the figure itself and under this a checklist of all the figures needed for the Mandroid BAF. Out of the box Cap is sat in an inner tray with his shield. A spare head and hands sit either side of his head. To his side is a Mandroid foot. The inner tray sits in a grey cardboard tray - this is embellished with the Captain America shield log on the grey backdrop. The figure comes with a masked head in place. The likeness to Chris Evans is somewhat missing and the head looks very generic. The skin tone is one shade without even any lip colouring. The mask is dark gloss blue with a neat A on the front. Beneath the mask are neatly painted eyes. Round the side are the winged design. Sadly the paint apps on the head are sloppy in place, notably around Cap's ears and the chin strap which is wonky on our in hand figure. Being his SHIELD Strike suit, Cap is also touting a SHIELD log on his right shoulder - applied as a decal by the looks of it. A similar decal of his surname ROGERS sits on the opposite shoulder. The STRIKE suit is well designed on the figure, but the proportions of the body are quite exaggerated with very wide shoulders and an unnaturally small hip - this is perhaps a hangover from the predominantly comic book figures Hasbro were putting out in the range at the time. The body is cast in a deep blue and onto this are painted the silver detailing, brown leather straps and red and black striping. The boots are two tone witha grey boot and brown straps. There is no weathering of any kind, making Cap look very clean. The final part of his outfit is a pretty bulky belt piece which floats on his waist and also moves upwards into his torso when the legs are moved. Articulation on Cap is impressive with 21 points of articulation. This makes posing Cap a breeze, including more iconic poses like the "I can do this all day" pose. Most Legends carry 19 points of articulation. Cap's extra movement comes in his legs with a shin swivel built into the cut of the boot that sits alongside the usual ankle rocker, double jointed knee, thigh swivel and ball jointed hip. The main body gets a swivel waist, ratcheted T-joint torso and ball jointed head. The arms get a ball jointed shoulder, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows and pivot wrists. Cap comes with one accessory, his trusty shield. Being his Stealth outfit, the Shield has been toned down to a blue and silver design only. While not 100% screen accurate, the colouring does follow what the Marvel team did in the movie for the Lemurian Star scenes and the subsequent Batroc battle. The shield has two straps on the reverse. Each are sized to slide onto Cap's arms - with the larger strap sliding up to the elbow, and the smaller strap sitting around the hand piece. Once on the arm Cap's shield is perhaps a touch too large, but with the arm articulation there are plenty of options for display. Cap comes fitted with two fist hands, but there are two other options included. The first is a flat palm that seems to have the purpose of making the shield fit on the right hand easier than with the fists. The second hand is a pointing finger for the right hand, while I see how you can pose cap with this finger - it just ends up looking a bit cheesy. The hands swap in and out really easily, clicking into place and retaining full movement once in place. Captain America also comes with an alternative unmasked head. Again the likeness to Chris Evans is questionable, and this looks more like a standard comicbook Cap. Scale wise, Cap stands 6.5" tall and this works well with the other figures in the line like Black Widow. It is also pretty accurate to Cap's on screen height. Considering this was one of the first MCU figures, the application is a hit and miss. While the figure is based on the MCU look, its proportions are more akin to comic-book figures of the time with the barrelled chest and tiny waist. The head sculpts are both passable as a generic Captain America but not to Chris Evans. The shield is a touch oversized. Balancing out the flaws the figure boasts impressive articulation and posing ability and the various swap out parts are well engineered. I score Winter Soldier STRIKE suit Captain America 2 out of 5.

NECA have revealed the packaging for their upcoming 8" retro style figure of Herbert West, the Re:Animator "Are you ready for our Re-Animator 8" Clothed Herbert West?" Another Star Wars Astromech release from Bandai in their Figure Kit range is this R4-I9. This is an R4 Astromech as seen on both the first and second Death Stars providing maintenance for the Empire. The kit will arrive in November, costing 2000 Yen (£13). It should not be too hard to get outside of Japan with these Bandai products now having an official route to Western Markets via Bluefin. As a nice bonus part in the box, you get the drinks tray that R2-D2 uses aboard Jabba's Sail Barge. Bandai have released the promotional images for their new 1/12 Star Wars Figure Kit of R2-D2. This is an improved kit from their previous R2 release and it comes with a wide range of bells and whistles, including R2's rocket boosters from the prequals. The various accessories can be fitted in place or displayed to the side of R2 on a specially designed display base. The kit should be out in September and will cost 2,200 Yen (£15). With the relaxing of being able to sell these outside of Japan via US distributor Bluefin we would hope this is available in the UK, US and beyond for around the £20-£25 mark.

Super 7 are taking us straight back to the 1980's with these 5.5" retro figures from Masters of the Universe. Mattel are bringing this DC Multiverse 6" pack to SDCC 2018. The set is an Aquaman themed set containing Aqua-Man himself, Black Manta and the Ocean Master, The set is titled "Between two Dooms" and it is presented in a sleeved box. Under the sleeve the figures are presented in an innovative window which is decorated like a comic book with the figures displayed in action poses. The Hollywood Reporter has reported on a Hasbro Marvel Legends SDCC 2018 exclusive Netflix Boxset that will be sold exclusively at the show. The article has since been removed for some reason. The set contains an unmasked Daredevil with the masked head also being included. Jessica Jones is a tweaked version without her jacket. Luke Cage is a red shirt version as opposed to the yellow shirt we have seen in the 2-pack with Claire. There is then brand new figures of Coleen Wing and the Immortal Iron Fist, Danny Rand. For five figures and a likely presentation pack and limited numbers we would estimate a US price of circa $120 for this set. After teasing a couple of pieces, NECA have now confirmed the release of the Nightmare on Elm Street Accessory Set. Like the Aliens, Predator and Friday the 13th sets, this is a set which doesn't include any traditional figures but more diorama pieces and accessories to embellish your display. The Elm Street set is essentially based on Part 3, Dream Warriors. We get two Elm Street street signs, both standing 10" tall, in scale with the 7" figures. One is regular and the other is the "nightmare" version. There is then TV Freddy, as seen in Dream Warriors. This piece can be wall mounted if you wish and comes with articulated arms and movable antenna. The centrepiece is the Dream Warriors Freddy Worm. This piece is enormous at over 12" tall.
