Pepper Potts, in her Mk49 Rescue armour, is part of the 2nd Avengers Endgame wave of 2019. The wave includes MCU figures of Shuri and the new War Machine and a Build-a-figure of Hulk from the 2019 Endgame movie. The seven figure wave is completed with comic book figures of Rock Python, Union Jack, Beta Ray Bill and Loki. Packaging 3/5 The packaging for Rescue remains the same as the previous MCU figures from the first Avengers 2019 wave, with a blue theme throughout. The logo still does not carry the Endgame name, but is simply Avengers in a dark blue fading to purple. The side and reverse art and not overly impressive and Rescue looks more like an animated design. As usual sat to the left of the rear artwork is a short piece of background text. The text is brief as per the norm, but is not at all representative of Pepper's use of the Rescue suit from Endgame. "From CEO of Stark Industries to powered by Stark Tech, Pepper Potts protects world order in her own Rescue Suit designed by Tony Stark" Paint & Sculpt 4/5 The sculpt for Rescue is, in the main, good with the body cast in a metallic blue and the gold, silver and blue details painted over the top. The body shape is pretty accurate to what we see on screen, although the neck seems elongated and the head can look high from some angles. The paint, where applied, is neat with no obvious issues. There is also some very good decals applied on the two wrists - reading Stark Industries - and on the back pack where we have the word "Rescue" and the confirmation this is the Mk49 armour. Accessories 5/5 I am grouping the backpack pieces as accessories for this review as there are two of them supplied. Rather than go for an opening set of panels and vents on Rescue for flight mode, Hasbro have taken the step - similar to Wasp - of including two rear back pieces. Both of these slot in via a plug on the backpack and a hole on the reverse of the figure. The closed set is still cast in blue plastic, like the body, with gold and silver details added as well as a decal for RESCUE and the suit number 0049. The open set is similarly cast in blue metallic and now all four flight flaps are open. Underneath is a silver grill like design with darker grey inserts. The open panels remain painted with gold and silver on top of the blue and the RESCUE and 0049 are still visible. Swapping these and slotting them in place is easy and they are both well shaped to align with the body. While it would have been nice to include some alternative repulsor firing hands and FX pieces for Pepper, that is probably a little greedy. If you are thinking of using existing FX pieces from the various MCU Iron-Man figures then be advised that Rescue has two differing size foot holes for some reason, and the FX will only fit into the right foot. Articulation 4/5 Pepper Potts takes the female body articulation for an MCU figure to the next level with 18 points of articulation in total, two more than a standard female body Head - ball joint with pivot Body - torso ball joint Arms - ball joint shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pivot wrist Legs - ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single joint knee, ankle rocker The double jointed elbows make a huge difference to arm posing, although the armour panels on the shoulder do stop full movement as they lock when raised so far. There is a similar issue with the wrist as the armour extends over the wrist joint. The hand can still rotate, but the pivot is blocked in certain positions. Due to the way that Hasbro tackles Iron-Man armoured legs, Pepper does stand a bit bow legged and the legs themselves are quite loose. This does make for some awkward and less than stable poses in a standing position. This is made more difficult by some very stuck ankle rockers on arrival that will need some heat to free them. However, putting those issues aside, Rescue really comes into her own when placed on a flight stand with the open flap backpack in place. Summary While this is not the first Pepper Potts figure in the Legends line, it is much better than the Iron-Man 3 version, putting Pepper in full armour and not just one of Tony's suits. The paint job is comparable to any other MCU Iron-Man figure to date by Hasbro and is actually more impressive in terms of the decals which are similar to what we've seen on War Machine. It is also great to see double jointed elbows and 18 points of articulation on a female MCU figure, although I suspect this was only possible as this is an armoured figure. Sadly, the legs are loose and Rescue looks awkward and isn't overly stable when stood. She looks more impressive on a flight stand. I score the Avengers Endgame Pepper Potts as Rescue a 4 out of 5. NECA have shared packaged images of their Alien Resurrection Ripley 8 and Xenomorph figures. The pairing, alongside the boxed Newborn Alien, are on their way into stores in the next few weeks (potentially later in August for the UK)

Ahead of SDCC, NECA have shared new images of their 2nd series of Toony Terrors line - Pinhead and Jason Voorhees. These two new figures will be part of series 2, with more reveals likely at SDCC 2019. The 2nd series is planned to be an October 2019 release. The inclusion of Pinhead could be significant for other scale/series collectors. NECA have clearly got the licence for Hellraiser and there have been Twitter hints about a 7 inch scale Ultimate Pinhead.

NECA have shared this image of what looks to be an original design 1979 Alien egg. As yet no context as to how it wi be released or in what scale.

McFarlane Toys have announced, via Facebook, that their next Call of Duty figure will be Captain John Price. Like the other COD figures, Price will come with exclusive downloadable game content. He is scheduled for an October 2019 release. "Captain John Price has joined our Call of Duty lineup! This ultra-articulated action figure comes with downloadable in game content and will be in stores October!"

Playmates have announced a special 35th Anniversary Set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be sold exclusively at Walmart stores. The 35th Anniversary set includes classic sculpts of the four turtles - presented in Black and White. They will each come with the appropriate weapons and there is a pack in of replica of the original Kevin Eastman 1984 comic book as well. Walmart will open pre-orders for the US on their website around the 18th July. This coincides with SDCC 2019 so there may be some promo or display stock at SDCC via Playmates or Nickelodeon. Stock will then start to land on store shelves soon after. At this stage there is no details on availability outside of the US.

The Star Wars show debuted a brand new Trooper class in their most recent episode, a Star Wars Episode 9 Sith Trooper. The show was followed up by an article on StarWars.com who have published a better look at this new Trooper and the associated merchandise. The Sith Trooper, a red armoured trooper, will it seems be the poster character for Rise of Skywalker with the armour on display at SDCC. There are also a number of key products being launched for the Sith Trooper including a Funko Pop, Mug, T-Shirt, Cap, Pin and for those with deep wallets a Hot Toys Sith Trooper. Our interest however sits with the Hasbro offering as the Sith Trooper will join the 6 inch Star Wars Black Series line. The figure gets an early release as an SDCC 2019 exclusive in this special red and black boxed packaging - alongside a bunch of red highlighted weaponry. The weapons do look somewhat repurposed from the First Order set a couple of years back, but the figure itself is a brand new sculpt with a more angular and ridged helmet and new chest armour pieces. The figure is a "first release" exclusive, similar to how the original First Order Trooper and then Jyn Erso were treated. The Sith Trooper is therefore very likely to be part of the first wave of Rise of Skywalker figures come Triple Force Friday on the 4th October. What is unlikely to make it to the general release are all the weapons. The packaging too will remain exclusive. And this box design is consistent with previous release and it will make for a nice display set alongside the First Order Trooper from 2015, Jyn from 2016, Luke & Rey from 2017 and Rex from Hasco 2018. The good news for UK collectors is that a number of retailers are confident of receiving stocks of this figure with pre-orders due to open after SDCC including our good friends at Kapow Toys. NECA’s new collaboration with renowned movie director Guillermo Del Toro brings select characters from Del Toro’s films to life in premium action figure format with deluxe added elements. DC Collectibles have announced a new set of figures based on the 2019 animated movie Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The line will be exclusive to Gamestop in the US and is made up of five different character two packs. We have Batman and Leonardo with each figure getting a raft of alternative hands. Batman gets his batarang and ascension gun, while Leonardo has his dual swords. There is also a slice of pizza each. Joining them for a September 2019 release is Robin and Raphael. Robin has two head options - one hooded, one not - and his staff, batarang, ascension gun and a bat symbol. Raphael also has two head options, swap out hands and his dual Sai's - again slices of pizza are packed in too. We then hit October 2019 where Batgirl and Donatello are released. Batgirl will include the same batarang and ascension gun as both Robin and Batman. There is also what looks to be a mobile phone and a torch (??) as well as alternative hands. Donatello has an alternative head, his staff, turtle flip phone, ooze canister, alternative hands and again we have two pizza slices included. In November 2019 the turtle line up is complete with the arrival of Michelangelo, accompanied by Alfred. Alfred has limited accessories with a few hand options and a Superman mug. Mikey has a skateboard, two nunchucks, and alternative hands. And yes, there is more pizza. The series is rounded out in December with the two main protagonists - Shredder and Ra's A Ghul. This set is quite sparse vs the others with Ghul's sword and a ooze canister the only inclusions. The US RRP on these is $49.99 and we await details of any UK release. Be mindful that like the previous NECA licensing arrangements these may be restricted initially at least to the US market only. It is nearly a year since we saw the proposed 6 inch Jurassic Park line unveiled by Mattel. After a very long wait, we now have some more concrete details about the line which will be called the Amber collection. The line will launch with two figures - a human and a dino. Rather than the originally displayed Owen Grady from SDCC 2018, the human line will launch with Doctor Ian Malcolm. Malcolm was teased at SDCC 2018 with a card insert and then a brief look at a prototype towards the end of the show. The new version has been resculpted somewhat and is based on his Jurassic Park appearance. He will come with a flare to wave at any passing T-Rex's. The dinosaurs will be represented by the Velociraptor. And rather than the Jurassic World Blue we saw last year, the figure has been tweaked to be a classic Jurassic Park Velociraptor, "clever girl!" Both figures come with an amber effect display stand. There is no details as yet on release date, price or availability. Some sites are hinting at these being a retailer exclusive?
