The latest Marvel Legends panel from Hasbro confirmed a handful of new comic book releases, starting with the next figure in the Walgreens (US) Cosmic series. Following on from Nova and Quasar comes Binary. The figure features alternative hands and clip-on blast effects. The figure will also be sold at EB Games in Canada, and elsewhere via the Fan Channel. Hasbro have announced their 2nd wave of Disney+ Marvel Legends figures coming later this year. Other than the sole figure of Sylvie from Loki, all the other figures are taken from the upcoming Marvel What If? project that lands in August 2021. The What If? is an animated show that looks at alternative versions of the MCU we know so well. The animation style is recreated in some of the figures with the T'Challa Star-Lord very similar to the style and proportions used for the Into the Spider-Verse figures. Supreme Doctor Strange is another figure deeply rooted in the animation style. While the figures of Nebula, Spider-Man, and particularly Captain Carter are all closer to the usual MCU styling. The final figure is a Zombie Captain America. The Build-a-figure for the 7-figure wave is Uatu the Watcher, a key character in the show. And he towers over the main characters standing close to 9-inches tall. There is a further release for What If? in the Deluxe range. The Hydra Stomper features an articulated rocket backpack with clip-in blast effects. There is a handle and foothold on the rear of the Stomper so you can pose Captain Carter riding the Hydra Stomper to battle as seen in the trailers. NECA have revealed some new images of their Super Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 : The Secret of the Ooze. The 30th Anniversary release is an homage to the European packaging and the box will use the European release poster for the movie as the cover artwork. Super Shredder is a Walmart Exclusive and will be in the US stores very soon. There will be some online and international availability promised at a later date. Hasbro are re-releasing the 2017 Vulture and wingsuit from Spider-Man: Homecoming as a Marvel Legends Deluxe release later this year. The figure will be updated to a new helmeted head and with retooling on the body. He will now come with clip-on forearm segments and hand controls for the wingsuit - but sadly, no unmasked Michael Keaton head. The Wingsuit itself, a former BAF, is the same as originally released but with an updated deco. Hasbro were keen to point out this is a Homecoming badged release and there is no link to the upcoming 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home movie. The set is a Target exclusive. While it was teased before the NECA Convention Panel, there was no reveal during the hour-long presentation for a NECA Jaws figure of Matt Hooper. Roll forward a few days and there was finally confirmed that the figure is in development as NECA shared this behind the scene photo of a head sculpt for the Richard Dreyfuss character. Hooper will be in the 8-inch scale line and will feature two head options. From the earlier teaser image, we can also assume he comes with his kit bag and the crushed polystyrene cup. It has been announced that McFarlane Toys are expanding their relationship with DC and Warner Brothers with a global licensing arrangement to release McFarlane Toys designed statues, busts, and figure under the DC Direct collectibles banner. DC closed down the DC Direct arm of their operation last year (2020) and it seems that McFarlane will now step in to design, manage and distribute the DC Direct product going forward. The full trailer for Ghostbusters Afterlife has been released, and shortly afterwards we got a first look at the Hasbro Plasma Series figures from the movie. Up first was a post from Hasbro Pulse which showed four new figures named in the post as Trevor, Podcast, Pheobe, and Lucky. From left to right in the image, we have Celest O'Connor as Lucky, Finn Wolfhard as Trevor, Logan Kimm as Podcast, and McKenna Grace as Pheobe. Meet the next generation of Ghostbusters! Trevor, Podcast, and Lucky available on shelf soon, with more to come in late fall 2021—including Phoebe! The Mezco One:12 Collective Joker from Gotham by Gaslight was only announced a few day ago during Comic-Con at Home week. It has now gone up for order - and not even a pre-order period either as the item is in stock and ready to ship. The Joker will feature two head options and a raft of alternative hands. His tailored costume includes a removable coat and his look can also be adjusted using the included Scarf, Top Hat, and Glasses. Accessories include three playing cards and a set of nine assorted tools which can be stowed in the included suitcase when not in use. To keep the Joker clean while he is at work, an apron is also included. The piece is a Mezco Store Exclusive with a $100 US price point. They will ship Internationally including resolving any custom charges and import costs alongside the delivery fees. UK collectors will be paying circa £127 all in for the Joker.
