The smaller 3" Diecast Titanium figures were also shown. Star Wars Black Series : Exclusives The 6" R5-D4 was originally touted as an Entertainment Earth exclusive, but it has since been rebadged as being a Game Stop US exclusive. Ponda Baba, Tusken Raider, Sandtrooper, Proto Fett Star Wars Black Series : 40th Anniversary We are getting a 6" Jawa in the Black Series. It will be part of the 40th anniversary vintage card wave. The figure is fully molded, no soft goods. There is also (as expected) the Death Star Trooper. He will come in the screen accurate black and not the grey we saw on the vintage figure. There is a 40th Anniversary Legacy Set which is reminiscent of the Early Bird set. This contains a 6" new sculpt Darth Vader with a stand that can display 12 figures. We originally thought Vader would also come carded as a single release, it was confirmed later that the figure would only come in the Early Bird stand set. He will be carded within the pack so fans can choose to open him, or display him carded along with the other 11 figures. Wave 1 of the Vintage 40th Anniversary 6" collection is Leia, Luke, Han, Ben Kenobi and R2-D2. Leia has been confirmed as having an updated head sculpt, and the Luke also has some significant differences to the head sculpt. This wave will hit around April 2017. The Wave assortment for the first five figures has been released as 8 figures per case. Obi-Wan, Leia, Luke are packed two per case. Han and R2-D2 are single packed. Wave 2 will be Chewbacca, Jawa, Death Star Trooper, Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider and C-3PO and will hit around June 2017 Celebration will then get the exclusive Luke X-Wing on the same packaging, but with a foil backing. Hasbro have confirmed the four new figures - Jawa, Death Star Trooper, Vader and Tusken Raider - will get a release in the main range in the standard packaging at a later date.
- Toy Fair 2017 : McFarlane
It is now a year since McFarlane announced the return to 7" scale and their Color Tops plans. It seems that the items on display at Toy Fair reflect another step on for McFarlane. First off is the packaging which is dropping the Color Top design and instead going for property focused packaging and branding. This means that we no longer have the complex coloured waves, although the numbering system will continue. McFarlane also seem to have taken on board the criticism on articulation (or lack of) in their releases. The first figures have essentially been partially articulated statues but going forward the new 7" figures will move forward to 17 points of articulation - including elbow and knee joints, torso pivots etc. Labyrinth As expected, McFarlane are kicking off their Labyrinth licence with a 7" Color Tops figure of Jareth the Goblin King The Walking Dead There were a couple of new Walking Dead products on display at the McFarlane booth. The first is a 7" Color Tops version of Dwight, who was presented as a unpainted sample in his window box. Actually on display, and also mocked up in packaging, was a 2-pack of Negan and Glenn who will be in the 5" scale which at present is still exclusive in the US to Walgreens. Destiny The Destiny licence will span the 7" Color Top figures, a larger 10" figure range and some role play items. Color Tops Other Color Tops on display and in the release schedule for 2017 are Spawn Commando, One Punch Man, Naruto and Sakura. From Mass Effect we will get Sara and Scott Ryder. And finally from Borderlands, we get Handsome Jack

- Toy Fair 2017 : Diamond Select Toys
Marvel Select After initially saying they had no plans for Netflix figures, Diamond softened their stance in recent months - and we can now see why as they've have just unveiled a Netflix Daredevil in their 7" Select range - complete with unmasked head. Daredevil will come with a diorama of the lift from the fight scene in series 1. We also got our first look at the brand new Select Spider-Man from Homecoming and Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy. The Starlord appears to come with the masked head, and the images are not clear if a second head is packed in. It has been confirmed Starlord will come with rocket attachments for his boots, similar to those seen on the comic book version. For comic book collectors we can see Lady Deadpool but also a Spider-Gwen figure - both of which will hit Comic Book Stores later in 2017 Pulp Fiction / Kill Bill It seems the Diamond Pulp Fiction range of 7" select figures is still progressing. Three figures were on display at Toy Fair - Jules, Butch and Marsellus. These are now on the release schedule after spending quite a while in development, they should be in stores by Autumn 2017. Each will come with a diorama base, with the bases for Butch and Marsellus interconnecting to a sidewalk diorama. Between Pulp Fiction & Kill Bill, DST have 21 figures planned and within this we will be getting Harvey Keitel's Winston Wolf and Christopher Walken's Captain Koons. Where the opportunities arise, the diorama bases will connect up so we will be seeing some diorama's of Jack Rabbit Slims, The Diner and from Kill Bill - The House of Blue Leaves, with figures like Bill and O-Ren. "Jules, Marcellus and Butch are leading off #PulpFiction Select Action Figures Series 1. Coming this fall! #toyfair #toyfair2017 #5407" - DST via Twitter Other Select Figures First up is a look at the Diamond Select Nightmare before Christmas, Series 4, figures - starting with Pyjama Jack We've also had promotional images for the next wave of Muppet Select figures. This three pack release will feature The Swedish Chef. Sam the Eagle packed with Rizzo the Rat. Doctor Teeth and Zoot. Diamond have also secured the licence to the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and you can see their first Select Captain Jack in the images below. Other figures will be Barbosa and Salazar, the new bad guy. Buy all three figures and you can build a diorama of the deck of the Black Pearl. For Star Trek fans, the next Select Trek figure will be a Borg. This was not allowed to be photographed so there are no images at this stage. Other licences in the Select range discussed at Toy Fair, but not on display, are for the upcoming Stephen King Dark Tower movie and for the Nintend Video Game Kingdom Hearts. We look forward to seeing the first images of these. Ghostbusters Ghostbusters will continue into 2017 with a whole new series which will be based on Ghostbusters 2. The first figure we've seen is Vigo the Carpathian, and there was a mockup of Peter MacNichols Doctor Janosz alongside Vigo and Janosz will come with the painting of Vigo as a pack in accessory. The new series will include a Build a Firestation diorama, and this was mocked up behind the figures. You can see the mockup of the Firehouse in the images below along with the GB2 hanging sign to the right. (Images via the Fwoosh) In a follow up tweet, DST have confirmed that like the Ghostbuster figures (series 1 to 5) there will be 15 figures in this Ghostbuster 2 Series each coming with a part of the Firehouse. The hanging sign will have two options so you can build your diorama as either a Ghostbusters 1 or Ghostbusters 2 firehouse. "The Ghostbusters Firehouse is the next build-a-diorama in the Ghostbusters Select Action Figure line! Collect all 15 pieces in Series 6-10, starting with Vigo the Carpathian! (Paper rendering shown, actual size with silhouette on right and footprint below.)" - DST via Twitter You will also be able to add Marshmallow Winston and Marshmallow Egon to the collection. Unlike the other Marshmallow figures, Diamond have said this is NOT an exclusive - and can be purchased from your local store. These will be single releases not a true "select" release as they will come without any accessories.
- Toy Fair 2017 : Mattel
DC Multiverse Figures We will work out way through the following list over the next day or so. But the Mattel Multiverse is expanding, with the following figures & series on display (list via ToyArk.com) Justice League Action – Power Connects Figures Batman The Joker Superman Wonder Woman Superman’s Ship Justice League Action – Figures Assortment Cyborg Green Arrow Wonder Woman Batman – Black and Gold Batman The Flash Superman The Joker Twin Blast Batmobile Wonder Woman Movie – DC Multiverse 6″ Figures Queen Hippolyta Diana of Themyscira Wonder Woman Steve Trevor Ares – Collect n Connect Figures DC Multiverse 6″ Figures – Bat Mech Suit Wave The Atom (TV Series) Batman Duke Thomas – Robin Reaper Batman – All Black Suit with Wings Bat Mech Suit Collect n Connect Figure DC Multiverse 6″ Figures – Clayface Wave Superman Bat Woman Jessica Cruz – Green Lantern Martian Manhunter (TV Series) Two-Face Clayface – Collect n Connect Figure DC Multiverse 6″ Figures – King Shark Wave Hawkman (TV Series) Joker (Dark Knight comic) Batgirl of Burnside Batman (Jim gordon King Shark – Collect n Connect Earth 2 Flash (TV Series) Other Items Wonder Woman Movie Dolls DC Super Hero Girls Items Animated Style Robin Figure (Seen in the dio) My particular favourites are the BAF Clay Face and the added CW figures like The Atom (images via toyhypeusa) Remote Control Batmobile (Justice League) While we may have to wait until the end of 2017 to see the new Batmobile on the big screen in Justice League, Mattel have unveiled this fantastic 6" scale Remote Control version at Toy Fair. This is not your run of the mill RC toy as it comes with a bunch of tricked out features. It stands nearly 6 inches high, and is nearly 2 foot long. It comes with functioning lights and sound fx, with the engine sound getting louder the faster you drive it. There are Gatling guns on the front which swivel in the direction you steer. And there is a jump mode where the chassis lifts up to simulate the car taking off. In the cockpit is a permanently fixed 6" scale Batman with his hands on the wheel, and the wheel and Batman actually steer as you pilot the Batmobile remotely. It even emits smoke from the exhaust as you drive. There is a mini-camera in the cockpit which gives a first person perspective and can link into an associated smartphone app. From the app you can see the perspective from the cockpit as you drive. There are also added FX on the app where you can see the rockets and tracer fire on screen. In the US this will all set you back $250, which for me is a great price considering that this is still cheaper than the Hasbro AT-ACT we got at Christmas which had a lot fewer features. Expect that to translate to around £220 here in the UK.
- Toy Fair 2017 : Marvel by Hasbro
Please be mindful of Spoilers (mild) within this thread for upcoming Marvel movie's like Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Spiderman : Homecoming and Thor : Ragnarok. 3.75" and 12 " figures Guardians of Galaxy "Walkman" figure. 12" figure with walkman that plays real music and has FX of Chris Pratt voice. The 3.75" 2-packs are shown - GOTG2, Spider-Man and a Thor set coming later in the year. Amazon will be releasing an exclusive 3.75" pack of the Sinister 6 (only five images of this at this stage) There will also be a release of the comic Guardians of the Galaxy box set of 3.75" figures. The presentation confirmed we will be seeing Daredevil and Elektra in 6" form. Spider-Man Homecoming Spider-Man Homecoming is getting a 46" high playset Spider-Man Legends 6" series for Homecoming includes Spider-Man, Spider-Man (Homemade suit) and Vulture. The BAF wings, which will clip onto the Vulture figure, expand to 23" The other figures in the Spider-Man series are comic based - Moon Knight (Marvel Now), Cosmic Spider-Man with alternative heads, Tombstone and Classic Beetle. Walmart will get a 6" Spider-man & Vulture 2-pack. Toys R Us get a 6" Spider-Man & Mary-Jane 2-pack. Target will get a 12" exclusive Black Suit Spider-Man. This is the Marvel Legends 12" range, not the cheaper Titan Heroes. Guardians of the Galaxy The first news from Hasbro in regards their Marvel Legends range was this early image of Ex Nihlo in the 6" range. Although appearing first in 2012 in Avengers Vol. 5 #1 - Ex Nihlo is aligned more to the Cosmic side of the Marvel Universe and Ex Nihlo will be part of 2nd Guardians of the Galaxy wave of figures. The rest of the wave is made up of Adam Warlock, Star Lord in long coat, Gamora, Rocket & Baby Groot and Nebula. The BAG will be Mantis. Also revealed so far is an image that appears to be a repacked (or tweaked) Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 alongside a Kurt Russell figure. Kurt is playing Ego the living planet, and this appears to be the first look at the character in Human form. The figure has already gone up for pre-order with an August 2017 release. It is exclusive to Entertainment Earth and retails for $39.99 in the US. Roguish and unpredictable, Ego and Star-Lord share many of the same qualities as father and son. But when it comes to defending the galaxy as each sees fit, their approaches unquestionably differ. Imagine sending Ego and Star-Lord into Guardians of the Galaxy action with this 6-inch scale figure 2-pack from the Marvel Legends Series. With the Marvel Legends Series, both kid and adult Marvel fans can start a legendary collection of comic- and movie-based Marvel characters. The Marvel’s Ego and Star-Lord figures are highly articulated and feature a movie-inspired design, making them an awesome cosmic addition to the Marvel Legends Series. Ages 4 and up. Another GOTG pack discussed in the Hasbro presentation was an evolution of Groot exclusive pack. This will be a Toys R Us exclusive.

- Toy Fair 2017 : DC Collectibles
DC Collectables Premium Film Figures One sad piece of information from Toy Fair was around the DC Collectables 6.75" range of premium DC movie figures. This range debuted at Toy Fair 2016 with plans for figures from Batman vs Superman, Suicide Squad and Man of Steel. The Man of Steel figures were soon canned, and now it has been confirmed that the range is not proceeding any further. We have had the Superman and Armoured Batman releases, but DC Collectables have confirmed these are the only figures that we will see from the range. DCC quoted a number of the other manufacturers working in this premium 6" scale. One chink of light is the mention that we may see some of these sculpts in other lines. That could still mean we see a reduced articulated version in the 6.75" line for the £20 price point. CW DC TV 6.75" figures The display for the 6.75" CW figures revealed two new additions in White Canary and Kid Flash. Images courtesy of ToyArk 6.75" Scale DC Comic Book First up is a new set of DC Bombshell 6.75" figures comprising of Mera, Supergirl, Batgirl, Katana, Hawkgirl and Bumblebee. There also appears to be options for different colour lights in his dome lenses.
