Toy Fair 2017 : McFarlane

It is now a year since McFarlane announced the return to 7" scale and their Color Tops plans. It seems that the items on display at Toy Fair reflect another step on for McFarlane.
First off is the packaging which is dropping the Color Top design and instead going for property focused packaging and branding. This means that we no longer have the complex coloured waves, although the numbering system will continue.
McFarlane also seem to have taken on board the criticism on articulation (or lack of) in their releases. The first figures have essentially been partially articulated statues but going forward the new 7" figures will move forward to 17 points of articulation - including elbow and knee joints, torso pivots etc.
Labyrinth
As expected, McFarlane are kicking off their Labyrinth licence with a 7" Color Tops figure of Jareth the Goblin King

The Walking Dead
There were a couple of new Walking Dead products on display at the McFarlane booth. The first is a 7" Color Tops version of Dwight, who was presented as a unpainted sample in his window box.
Actually on display, and also mocked up in packaging, was a 2-pack of Negan and Glenn who will be in the 5" scale which at present is still exclusive in the US to Walgreens.
Destiny
The Destiny licence will span the 7" Color Top figures, a larger 10" figure range and some role play items.
Color Tops
Other Color Tops on display and in the release schedule for 2017 are Spawn Commando, One Punch Man, Naruto and Sakura.
From Mass Effect we will get Sara and Scott Ryder.
And finally from Borderlands, we get Handsome Jack
