"Sometimes it takes courage to stick to one's beliefs, young Padawan." As with most Anniversary series releases before them, the 2025 Revenge of the Sith anniversary wave was made up of existing figures, some with tweaks, released on retro-inspired cardbacks. For Revenge of the Sith, the figures were picked to mimic the original 2005 3.75 inch releases, rather than absolute movie accuracy. The set featuring 7 different figures, released in the Summer of 2025, was a Fan Channel release here in the UK, while it was sold through Walmart in the US.  Aayla Secura is packed onto the shaped retro card, mirroring the figures of 2005 but at the larger 6-inch scale. The cardback features the image of Vader’s helmet, overlaid with the battle on Mustafar between Anakin and Obi-Wan and the lava plains on which they fight. The figure, in its blister, is wrapped at the bottom by an additional insert that shows the character’s image, confirming the name as Aayla Secura as it was in 2005, with no mention of her status within the Jedi order as we have seen on some other Jedi figures. The slip in insert also carries the Revenge of the Sith logo in its golden hue.  The cardback includes further yellow tones with a picture of Aayla Secura, a second image of the posed figure and some short background text. Here we also find the only reference to the Star Wars Black Series. The blister is stuck to the card, and the figure can only be opened with some level of damage to the card or the blister. While you can be careful in cutting the blister and therefore enable some level of repacking afterwards, the process will cause visible damage to some extent. Aayla Secura appeared briefly in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, as well as making appearances in The Clone Wars animated series. In all of these, she retained the same outfit, in keeping with her Twi’lek heritage with a brown vest top, brown trousers and boots. On the figure, this outfit is recreated in full, with the vest being a sleeve applied over the blue-skinned torso, leaving the midriff and right arm visible. The left arm features a sleeve that connects to the vest. The legs are cast in a red/brown with the boots a darker brow. The outfit concludes with a belt of sorts featuring a front sash with a crosshatched design, and at either side on the hips a pair of flexible strands or ropes that hang to her knees. This belt also features a socket for her lightsaber. The headsculpt captures the basic likeness of Secura, but more so as she appeared in the Clone Wars and not particularly a strong likeness to Amy Allen, who played her in live action. The head is wrapped in a brown head piece that goes around the forehead and around the sides of the head. From this protrude her two Lekku, which are cast to be wrapped in the brown material of the headpiece, so the pieces are cast in blue with the wraps painted in brown.  Even with the facial printing tech, the features of the face look more stylised than most black series and hark back and this is not necessarily deliberate to pay homage to the 2005 3.75 figures, as this likeness and face decor was the same on her earlier release.  The 2025 release is virtually identical to the 2022 version, where Aayla Secura was part of Wave 9 of the Galaxy Collection and the 3rd release for Attack of the Clones. Comparing the two releases side by side, there are variations only in the colouring. The 2025 version does feature a more vibrant blue for the skin tone and a deeper brown on the costume.  Aayla comes with her lightsaber, the same as included in 2022, and made up of a silver hilt with plenty of cast detail but no additional paintwork save one painted gold button. The hilt can fit in either hand or be hung on Aayla’s belt via a plug on the saber hilt that sits into the socket on the belt.  The new version for 2025 comes with the usual translucent blue blade. It also features a swooshing blade version, a piece that is exclusive to this set and that previously had only been used in the Count Dooku  2020 release and in a handful of special releases such as the Starkiller  release for Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 and, most recently, the SDCC 2025 Battle on Mustafar  exclusive. Both blades fit securely into Aayla’s hilt for activated posing. The heavier sweeping blade can have an effect on posing and can drag down the slimmer arms of Secura, as well as bending its own peg within the saber hilt in some positions.  Aayla Secura has 18 points of articulation, all carried over from the 2022 release and that includes the older pinned articulation on the legs from her 2022 release thanks to those being donated from the even earlier Admiral Holdo release. These legs bring with them double jointed knees, which are a good trade-off to the visible pins with a wider range of movement available. You also get bonus boot cut swivels as extra movement, thanks to the tweak to replace Holdo’s boots with Secura’s. I am pleased the weak ankles on the earlier release are better on this new figure, but still not ratcheted, so there remains a level of instability.  The upper movement is more restricted, and some of this was also carried over from other figures, with the right arm a re-use from Auura Sing, meaning Secura’s arms have a different range of motion at either side. While the joints are the same, the left arm has a better level of elbow bend. With no butterfly shoulders either, the lightsaber positioning in two hands is more limited, as are the single-handed strike poses. This is a pity considering the sweeping blad,e which is best employed in more dynamic striking attack positions that are more difficult with limited arm movement.   The Revenge of the Sith Anniversary figures varied from some impressive updates like Commander Cody  on the new Clone body with the Order 66 hologram, R2-D2  with his booster rockets, and the repainted movie version of the Magna Guard . The other half of the set were more mundane repacks. While Aayla Secura does a little better than Count Dooku  and Kit Fisto  with the inclusion of a new swoosh lightsaber accessory, she does little to enhance a figure we already had.  Pictured with Clone Commander Bly and Lieutenant Galle This 2022 figure remains widely available and with little to split them on aesthetics, the point of difference remains the card for packaged collectors or the extra lightsaber option. Side by side, there is no enhancement of facial printing or likeness we might have expected having seen some of the other more recent improvements of figures vs their older versions. At the time of writing, Aayla Secura is still available widely in the ROTS packaging and with a discount at most retailers. Figure Hack: Soft Goods Jedi Robes While Aayla Secura’s outfit remains the same across all of her onscreen appearances, there have been figure releases that give her a more traditional Jedi outer robe in both the Hasbro 3.75-inch series and from Sideshow. To that end, you can mirror this look by borrowing a female Jedi soft-goods robe from the Black Series Acolyte figures. In our example here, it is from Jedi Master Indara, but the one from Jecki Lon will also work. The robes have to be fitted up and under Aayla Secura’s Leku, but once installed, they are a good match to her body frame and the colour of her main outfit. This robed version, which we have to assume she would wear for more formal Jedi occasions, is a good look alongside other robed Jedi Masters like Plo Koon and Mace Windu. "I've been looking forward to this” As with most Anniversary series releases before them, the 2025 Revenge of the Sith anniversary wave was made up of existing figures, some with tweaks, released on retro-inspired cardbacks. For Revenge of the Sith, the figures were picked to mimic the original 2005 3.75 inch releases, rather than absolute movie accuracy. The set featuring 7 different figures, released in the Summer of 2025, was a Fan Channel release here in the UK, while it was sold through Walmart in the US.  Count Dooku used the same basic card design as the other figures, a shaped cardback paying homage to the 2005 figures and incorporating a shape to mimic Darth Vader’s helmet. Artoworking included Vader’s helmet, and then transitioned into a silouetted view of Kenobi vs Anakin on Mustafar before moving to an image of the Mustafar lava flows themselves. The figure was packed onto the card by a blister, and it was the insert in this blister that carried the character image, name, and the 2005 Revenge of the Sith golden logo. The back of the card was also in keeping with the 2005 figures, with an image of the character, a picture of the posed figure and some short background text. It is solely on this backing card that we get the Black Series logo. The packaging can only be opened by breaking the seal, and while you can cut carefully around the blister, there is no way of returning Dooku to the pack without some level of damage, as opposed to the usual Black Series boxes, which can be relatively easily repacked apart from the breaking of some seal tape.  Count Dooku is as we see him during the events of Attack of the Clones and into Revenge of the Sith. The figure replicates Dooku’s inner robes in a dark brown, almost black tone. The upper torso transitions to a softer plastic skirt from the belt piece, with the hips and legs sitting underneath. Like the torso, these are cast in the base plastic, although Dooku’s boots are finished in a high black gloss. Paint is used to colour the belt in a lighter brown, and within this, there is a touch of silver around the mounting for his lightsaber.  The cape is a soft goods piece that uses the lighter weight fabric we see on Darth Vader’s cape, even lighter now that the robe material used on the Jedi figures. The single material features a dark brown outer side, with a lighter, almost golden brown lining to mirror Dooku’s on screen costume. It cannot be removed and is fastened into the figure by way of a silver chain piece that plugs through the cape and into the torso. The collar is a little messy and not particularly well-tailored, so it sits quite poorly around the figure’s neck. The head sculpt is a relatively good likeness to Christopher Lee as seen in 2005 playing Dooku. The sculpt incorporates his high cheek bones and slightly sunken features as well as his slicked back hair and neatly trimmed beard. Photo printing is added over the top to enhance the likeness and to add realism to the facial hair in particular rather than the older flat painted beards.  vs the 2020 release of Count Dooku (right) Count Dooku is the exact same figure as was released in 2020  in the Phase III red box packaging. There are variations in the paintwork and the cape with the newer 2025 figure changing the material of the cape and the design of the collar, and to me, making it worse as it hides the neck in a messy fashion rather than sitting neatly around it. vs the 2020 release of Count Dooku (right) The facial print comparison between the two shows differences with the older figure having a slightly healthier skin tone and a darker grey in the beard and hair. It is difficult to say which is better, and that in itself is detrimental to the 2025 release, considering the huge step on over those 5-years that you see in other figures when compared to their older versions. I still prefer the older look and will likely commit the 2025 Dooku to the storage boxes rather than him unseating the 2020 figure on display. The Count features his lightsaber, the curved sabre replicated in the 6-inch scale to a good level of detail and including a silver base colouring and black details as well as a red switch towards the base, and the sweeping curved guard that comes out from the blade emitter. The saber hilt includes a plug on one side that can slot the hilt into the corresponding socket on the belt for a holstered look.  The saber hilt fits in either of Dooku’s hands and can be displayed lit or unlit. For the activated blade, you can choose between the standard red translucent blade, and you also get the swoosh blade effect that was, until relatively recently, exclusive to Dooku from 2020, but that has now seen extended use with Aayla Secura in the same ROTS set, and the SDCC 2025 Anakin vs Obi-Wan set. Each blade plugs in and out securely, but it is worth mentioning that the sweeping blade is heavier and can, in some positions, look to be bending away from the hilt.  Dooku features 19 points of articulation. Within this, there are butterfly shoulder joints to enhance the range of fighting stances, and while Dooku is not often seen holding his saber in two hands, it is feasible for the figure. Dooku’s way of combat is simple enough to replicate, with wider-ranging butterfly shoulder arms allowing the figure to get into the elegant, duelling stances we see Dooku adopt.  The legs are a standard configuration and can move within the confines of the softer skirt piece. The ankle joints are secure and ratcheted, and Dooku is stable and secure once posed.  Dooku, in this Revenge of the Sith retro packaging, is most desirable left in the packaging for a carded collection. The card back is particularly visual and mimics the 2005 really well. The figure inside does not particularly improve on the original release from 5 years prior. While it is still a good recreation of Christopher Lee as Dooku, the original figure feels like it still offers a better soft goods solution around the neck in particular, as well as a better paint job on the face, although this may split opinion.  While other figures in the wave got tweaks that enhanced them or created a point of difference like Commander Cody’s  hologram accessory and upgrade to the newer body, the Magna Guard  repaint, or R2-D2’s  boosters, Dooku falls into the other camp alongside Kit Fisto  with little to offer collectors apart from the card back or for collectors who didn’t get him the first time around, and for those new to the hobby. At the time of writing, the figure remains widely available here in the UK and in most cases at a price discounted down from the original £25 RRP. But, if you are purchasing Dooku to display loose, I would have a look at the side by side comparisons of both figures here - and in other reviews - as you may find yourself preferring the look of the older figure. Those who follow the site may know I've had some health issues over the past 3-years, and am about to go back in for some surgery at the end of January. Revealed today by Character Toys is the first Doctor Who Vortex Edition Release for 2026, Tegan Jovanka, alongside a destroyed Dalek. This Fifth Doctor era set gives us a brand new Tegan figure from Resurrection of the Daleks with two accessories: a Dalek Trooper Gun and a Movellan virus canister. The Destroyed Dalek is a Resurrection-style Dalek with a black and grey colour scheme, an exploded dome section and visible Dalek mutant and 'goop' within. Medicom's next two MAFEX releases will be from their DC collection and a continuation of their Batman: Hush collection. First is Bruce Wayne, who comes in a business suit and with an overcoat. The figure includes three different head options, a removable scarf, sunglasses, a duffle bag, two batarangs, and an alternative hand and briefcase. The set will also throw in three other head options for existing Medicom MAFEX Batman: Hush figures. They include two heads for Batman, one with stubble and the other with a breathing mask. And we also have a Catwoman head variant with a similar breathing mask. Joining Bruce is Clark Kent, who features two head options and a pair of removable glasses. You can also change the upper torso so he can be displayed with his shirt and tie, or with those pulled open to reveal the Superman suit beneath. The set also contains a bonus Superman head for the MAFEX Superman figure from Batman: Hush. Both of these MAFEX figures are general releases, available via Medicom stockists, and have a November 2026 release date. McFarlane has announced that they are adding Gladiator 2 to their Movie Maniacs line with this 6-inch posed release of Lucius from the 2024 sequel to the Russel Crowe classic movie. Lucius is posed in his Gladiator armour and is holding swords in both hand. He is posed on a display plinth, with a movie poster-inspired backdrop included. The set also comes with a collector card and the usual Movie Maniacs 'surprise' gift. Lucius is a general release, arriving at the end of January. 2026 is shaping up to be a good year for Star Wars fans, headlined by the cinematic release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, supported by the new Maul: Shadow Lord animated series on Disney+ from the team who brought us The Clone Wars and Rebels. The new teaser trailer has now landed for Maul, and that means our speculation can begin on what, if any, Star Wars Black Series releases we could expect from Hasbro. It is almost guaranteed that we will get a new Maul from the show. This could be a new build or use some parts from the 2022 Clone Wars Maul or the 2023 Old Master. Either way, we must have him with soft goods robes, ideally wired to meet the pose from the trailer. Alongside Maul, it would be good to see a release for his new apprentice, Devon Izara, the Twi'lek played by Gideon Adlon and who looks to be central to what is speculated as being a take on the Darth Talon story. Devon Izara's Master features in the trailer; Master Eeko-Dio-Daki is, we assume, another survivor from Order 66. His species is yet unconfirmed, but we know he is played by Dennis Haysbert. From a new character to a recurring one with Vanessa Marshall's Rook Kast, the Mandalorian who was part of Maul's Mandalorian exploits during The Clone Wars. She is seen in the trailer with her Mandalorian armour and helmet, and at one point using her flamethrower. WIth this set between Order 66 and the events of Solo, we are in the midst of the Jedi Purge and so it is no surprise to see Inquisitors feature, considering Maul's background and the role of both Devon Izara and Master Eeko-Dio-Daki. The two we see feature in the trailer are also returning characters with Marrok, seen prominently in Ahsoka as a reanimated Inquisitor, and the Eleventh Brother who first appeared in Tales of the Jedi, battling a young Ahsoka. With Marrok already existing as a Black Series figure , a cleaned-up and Imperial-branded version is not a big stretch. Parts are also available to build the Eleventh Brother; we've previously done a custom with existing Inquisitor and Imperial bodies and a 3D printed mask. The final two potential figures we picked out are Captain Brander Lawson and his partner, the droid 2BOT (also nicknamed Two-Boots). The designs of both Lawsonand 2BOT are very similar to the law enforcement seen in some elements of the Jedi video game series. It will be interesting to see if 2BOT is voiced any differently by Richard Ayoade to his last droid appearance as Q9-0 "Zero" in The Mandalorian. With Maul: Shadow Lord due to release in June and with the trailer now released, we will watch the next few Hasbro Star Wars Fan Streams and reveals to see how deep they are going into this series. "Jabba ruled with fear. I intend to rule with respect.” Following Boba Fett’s dramatic return to the Star Wars saga in The Mandalorian and then onward into his own series, The Book of Boba Fett, we were quickly provided with new Black Series figures from Hasbro. These 2022 releases were all released in quick succession, giving us Fett in his Tusken gear, followed by two Deluxe releases of Fett in his armour. The first of these was as seen on Tython with the armour still damaged and heavily paintworn, and soon after this, the same figure was repainted and badged as the Throne Room version. This was Fett as seen in the last few episodes of Mando Season 2 and then the armour and costume he was wearing as he strode into Jabba’s old Throne Room and ‘replaced’ Bib Fortuna as Daimyo. These three releases did cause a bit of Fett-fatigue back in 2022, and all three figures pegwarmed for some time. In 2026, some three and a bit years later, Hasbro are returning to bring us the next evolution of the New Republic-era Boba Fett as seen in the present-day events of The Book of Boba Fett. This figure, badged by Hasbro as the Daimyo release, is one of four figures in the first wave of Black Series for 2026, Wave 24 overall. The wave also contains Boba’s father, Jango, who himself gets a full makeover. The other two figures are a Bounty Hunter Asaaj Ventress, and a re-release in the squared box packaging for Darth Vader ‘Final Duel’ from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The Daimyo Fett finally continues the Book of Boba Fett Galaxy Collection, with the deep green highlight colour on the black box across key text elements and the artwork to the side and back. Fett is number 09 in the collection, with the montage image on the side connecting into the last release from this line, the Glavis Ringworld release of The Mandalorian from 2023. This is the first Book of Boba release to come in the new collectors' squared packaging design of Phase 4. The back of the box carries some basic background text that talks about Boba being a clone of his father, Jango, and his career as a Bounty Hunter, but makes no reference to the events of The Book of Boba Fett. This text makes no reference to the ‘Daimyo’ title, and the term is not captured anywhere on the box, considering we were probably expecting this as a subtitle to the name to differentiate it from earlier releases. The internal cardback, also in a matching green, features an embedded image of the main buildings in Jabba’s Palace. This ‘Daimyo’ release of Boba Fett represents his ‘final form’ from The Book of Boba Fett, after the Bacta healing and after he discards the Tusken robes for a more streamlined black undersuit, more in keeping with his Original Trilogy costume, although much darker. The torso is a sleeve over a basic chest piece and features a black base with a large, rolled and bunched collar as one final throwback to the Tusken desert gear. The front features deep green painted armour complete with the silver central panel and to the right-hand side, the white and blue wheat emblem, which remains a non-canonised sigil of the Mandalorians or Fett himself. This is too detailed to paint and is instead an applied decal.  Like the main torso, the arms are also black, with fabric folds included in the sculpt to mirror the onscreen costume. These are covered at the shoulders with deep yellow Pauldron’s the left hand side of which carries another decal, this time of the Mythosaur skull. From the elbows downward, Fett is wearing burgundy bracers, with the left hand side cast with a wrist missile that is then painted in silver, with a bronze tip. The right arm also has three flexible cables that come out from under the shoulder pauldron and connect to the bracers, these are not attached to the elbow but snake over it. They represent the fuel supply for Fett’s wrist flame thrower.  The legs, like the arms, are black and with stitched detail down a central seam and incorporate creasing and folds. The knee sections are ribbed like a combat suit, and then they are covered with a pair of deep yellow knee pads with sculpted, but unpainted, side weapon launchers. Fett’s boots are the same burgundy as the bracers, with a grey finish to the soles and toecap. The costume is finished with a soft plastic cast belt in burgundy with a bold and bright golden buckle, and paint ammo to one side in an included ammo bandoleer. A holster connects from the belt and then straps around the right leg, allowing Fett to holster his blaster. The belt is finished with a soft goods black skirt section that wraps the back of the legs and flows down to just over Boba’s ankles.  The Jetpack is, of course, also included, fitting onto the rear of the figure by way of three sockets that correspond to pegs on the Jetpack. The fit is semi-secure and will hold in place while you pose (and play) with your new figure. The pack is cast in green with painted blue and burgundy detailing to the central section and the side thrusters. You also get a touch of silver on the large single rocket, and this can be detached if you wish. The two lower thrusters are articulated in that they can rotate, and both include a socket that would accept a pair of Thruster FX pieces, such as the ones from the Return of the Jedi Fett, or indeed from some Iron-Man figures in the Marvel Legends series.  The headsculpt is probably the best Temura Morrison to date, either younger from the Prequels or older from the New Republic era shows. It includes scarring around the face and head, and has very intense eyes in the deep set brow. Facial printing adds realism to all of these features and gives Boba a stern and determined look.  You do of course also get his helmet, and this is cast in green with a painted gloss black T-shaped visor, trimmed in the deep burgundy colour. This trim also continues back around the helmet, where it sits alongside some orange rectangular markings in a repeating pattern down the left-hand side. To the right is the range finder, a hinged piece with a silver shaft and a black lens, all set in a sand coloured fitting to the side of the helmet. The fit over Fett’s head is OK, but it is noted that from some angles, the chin remains visible. There is online noise and suggestions that the internal lining of the helmet can be removed to make the head sit lower. I was not concerned enough to do this at this stage.  Hasbro did position this new Boba Fett as a brand new release, but there appears to be a handful of re-used parts, although not as many as I first thought. While I cannot say for certain, the head sculpt may be the same one used on the 2022 releases, but with a vastly overhauled facial print treatment. The basic facial structure, shaping and sculpted scars and features appear identical.  Daimyo 2026 (left), Throne Room 2022 (middle), Tython 2022 (right) While the torso sleeve looks the same, when you get into side by side detail we can see the shape is adjusted and the dings and dents on the first two are no longer visible. I suspect the base torso underneath is probably the same. The Pauldrons are smaller on the new figure, although the upper arms look to be the same, as is the cable loom that connects to the right arm. Both bracers again look similar, but there are differences, so both forearm pieces are new, while the hands seem to be the same across all three figures. From here, everything from the belt downward is new. Daimyo 2026 (left), Throne Room 2022 (middle), Tython 2022 (right) Jetpacks are the same across all three figures, apart from the paint job. The 2026 helmet is new and is smaller in terms of overall height, with the decor updated to the Daimyo release's repaired and repainted armour. It still sports the dent and quite possibly shares the range finder with the older figures. Weaponry is reused from the older Fett figures and starts with his sidearm, the unclassified blaster with twin slim barrels and an open trigger. It is cast in a grey plastic, but has a metallic look to the main body, possibly an overpainted metallic hue or finish. The grip is painted brown, and this is less defined and also overpaints the two visible sculpted bolts down the grip section. It can be holstered into the belt holster, or held in the right hand, where Boba comes with the standard flexible trigger finger.  The other weapon is his larger EE-3 Carbine Rifle. This is similarly coloured with a gun metal blastic but with a glossier finish to the barrel and sights. The stock is painted brown and still leaves a rear component on one side in the grey finish. While the weapon looks great, it is a stinker to get into Boba’s hands thanks to the shape of the enclosed grip and trigger. It takes a bit of manoeuvring and some stretching of the fingers, but it can be done. The problem once there is a lack of side-hinged wrist joints, so the weapon cannot be tilted away from the body. This leaves the stock pressed hard against the forearm which causes it to bend. This has been an issue on nearly every Fett released since the line started, and it's still not engineered out. Assuming you accept the warping in the grip position, the left hand will come across and snugly grip and cradle the barrel. Once both hands are positioned, the blaster rifle is pretty much fixed in a position against Fett’s lower chest, aiming out to the side. There is insufficient arm articulation to raise it up, and firing in a natural stance that we are used to on the likes of our Storm and Clone Troopers.  This new release doesn’t dramatically enhance the articulation from the prior releases except in one area, which we will explore in a moment. There are a total of 21 points of articulation on the figure, with further joints on the helmet range finder and on the jetpack thrusters. The head is twin-jointed, extending the head movement beyond a simple rotation to allow for head tilts and angled positions, with or without the helmet. The torso features a ball joint sitting just above the belt. This is more limited than we might prefer, with a relatively good level of back lean, but very limited and very springy ab-crunch which doesn’t want to hold and wants to spring back into the neutral position.  The legs are well designed with a hip joint, knee joint, boot cut rotation and an ankle rocker. The loss of the thigh cut swivel removes that from an aesthetic perspective and allows the legs to flow, with the knee joints neatly disguised around the costume and the armour.  Boba Fett is also the first Black Series release with a toe joint! These are equally well disguised, and while not always useful, should you pose Fett walking, running or kneeling it is great to finally have that option. The question is, will this be a standard going forward.  The arms are disappointing for a gun-toting figure like Fett. The shoulders are tucked too far into the toros sleeve, and with this alongside the armoured pauldrons and what seem to be very recessed butterfly joints, the movement is limited to the arms being raised to shoulder height only, and very little else. The left elbow is about on par with the standard range of new releases, achieving a 90-degree bend. The right is heavily restricted by that cable loom. The cables have to be spun and positioned with the elbow in the middle before it can bend, and when doing so it still stretches the cable and risks overall damage. There is some rotation in the forearm cut to help with arm movement, but as you reach the hands, these are pivot pegged to the bottom of the wrist and not the side, which really hurts weapon posing. I suspect these may be designed this way to have Fett hold his helmet under his arm. There is also a substantial flaw with the same right arm, where the inner bicep clashes with the sleeve of the torso, so while the left arm folds flat to the body, the right arm constantly sticks out. We are quite deep now into Boba Fett releases, both for the Original Trilogy and the New Republic era. This latest version gets reasonably close to replicating everything we’d want for the Daimyo of Mos Espa, and it certainly captures the outline and proportions of Temura Morrison in full armour as well as his likeness to the head sculpt. There are grumblings over the helmet, and I can see the issue from angles where Fett’s chin is visible. There is a hack to remove the inner plate, but that will need to be done at your own risk. Another hack is for Fett to borrow the Throne Room helme,t which still fits the head and has a very similar paint finish.  The bigger issues are in the arm articulation and a lack of movement in the shoulders and elbows, further compounded by the use of a set of three cables as an individual piece, but without enough flex to not break if the arm is bent when they are straddling the elbow. The wrists are also an odd choice to pivot at the base and not the side, making the EE-3 rifle in particular tricky to wield without having it bend and warp while in Fett’s grip. There are positives too, with the very first toe articulation and a set of legs that work brilliantly, supported by a subtle and non-intrusive soft goods skirt. The two 2022 Fett’s in this configuration were both sold as Deluxe figures at an increased RRP on the back of paint complexity. While this new version is simpler in decor than say the Tython version, there is little difference and therefore the Daimyo release is very adequately priced as a standard release for the circa £25 UK price (now $27 in the US). McFarlane are releasing a variant set of their new Page Punchers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with a special 'Black, White & Green' decor application. The new Red Platinum figures use the same bodies as the main releases, but with a a greyscale colour scheme and just a touch of green across the bandana. NECA have fully revealed their new Sesame Street Ultimate release of Big Bird from Sesame Street, as previewed last year at New York Comic Con. Big Bird stands over 10 inches tall and is in scale with the other Sesame Street releases. He is fully articulated, including a hinged jaw. You get two head options so you can choose between his usual look and the original first season head. You can adorn Big Bird's neck with either a tie or a scarf, and there are plenty of hand options to select from as well. Accessories include Radar the Teddy Bear and the letter B. Big Bird will be packed in the Ultimate format packaging with an opening front cover. The figure opens for pre-order at the NECA store and stockists as of the 21st of January 2026.
