The set features 3.75-inch scale figures of both Wednesday and Enid in their school uniforms as well as Thing. Both figures feature alternative arms for differnt posing options with Wednesday coming with an umbrella, and Enid with a pink backpack. The figures can be displayed in a dorm-room playset that is part of the set and features the stained-glass window as a backdrop. The set is listed for release between July and September 2024. Hasbro is bringing a line of basic articulation 4-inch scale action figures for Star Wars back to store shelves in Spring 2024. The new Hero Series plugs the gap for a basic child-focused series of pocket-money friendly figures with the single figures priced at $9.99 and the deluxe figures at $14.99 - these should equate to £9.99 and £14.99 if these reach the UK. They are packed onto blister cards with a bright yellow theme. Unlike the Vintage Collection or Black Series The cards are non-specific in terms of the film/series from which the figures originate. The first batch is very heavily skewed towards the current Disney+ era characters from The Mandalorian and Ahsoka in particular. In the US these are a Walmart exclusive line. McFarlane has dropped the next full wave of their 4.5 inch DC Retro Super Powers figures for pre-order. The new wave features four new figures of Batman (Manga), Kilowog, Braniac and Blue Beetle. These will all be general releases packed onto blister cards that pay homage to the original Super Powers line. Three new vehicles are arriving at the same time. Hasbro has marked G.I. Joe day with plenty of reveals for upcoming Classified Series figures. After first revealing figures of Doc, Torch, and a Tiger Force 2-Pack of Roadblock and Tripwire, the team went on to share a second trio of releases. Joining Torch for the Dreadnoks is a Deluxe release of Gnawgahyde who comes with his pets Porkbelly the Warthog and Yobbo the Macaque. "I'm considered good-looking amongst my kind." The first Marvel Legends Talos figure was released in 2019 as part of the Captain Marvel wave, here he was presented only in his Skrull form. Thanks to his role in the 2023 Disney+ Secret Invasion series, Talos has now been given a second Legends figure and this time it features the ability to display him as a Skrull or in his disguised human form. Talos was released as part of the Hydra Stomper BAF wave which also included figures from Hawkeye, WandaVision, Secret Invasion and Marvel’s What If? The Secret Invasion Talos was a plastic-free release so arrived in a fully enclosed box with artwork on the front, sides and rear of the figure and contents. The BAF checklist moved to the left-hand spine with Talos coming with the Stomper’s right leg. Talos is what appears to be a full new figure comprising of a blue-shirted torso and dark blue jeans with black boots. Over this sits a softer plastic brown jacket, with the same colour used on the arms. The figure relies on base colour throughout, but there are a couple of applied paint details such as a touch of white on a t-shirt beneath the blue shirt visible at the collar, and the belt and silver belt buckle. Overall proportions seem accurate with Talos standing a touch shorter than the Nick Fury from the same wave. We get two head and hand combos for Talos, starting with his human disguise. The recreation of actor Ben Mendelsohn is impressive with a strong sculpt overlaid with facial print technology. The head is engineered inclusive of the neck which is a bit of a change to the usual Marvel Legends anatomy. This works better aesthetically and keeps the neckline crisp in terms of the transition from flesh to clothing. The human hands swap out in the usual way with limited fuss. The second option is for Talos in his Skrull form, and again the head sculpt is impressive and also inclusive of a level of facial printing including the eyes, but also the markings around some of the features. There is a gripe with the ears which arrived badly warped on my figure and I’ve struggled to straighten them - another issue with the plastic-free packaging and the paper wraps vs the inner tray to keep things straight. Like the human head, the Skrull head is sculpted as a full head and neck. With two heads and two sets of hands, there are no other accessories for Talos which is a bit of a shame considering the hands are designed to grip weapons or perhaps something like a mobile phone. Articulation is all pinless and comes in at 19 points in total. We have the usual double-jointed knees and elbows, as well as a dual-jointed torso with both waist swivel and t-jointed chest. The head articulation is reasonably extensive considering there is no upper neck joint. Like the accompanying Nick Fury from the Hydra Stomper 2023 Wave, Talos is very much a routine release with no major issues, but also nothing particularly stands out about him either. He looks the part, can be displayed either as a Skrull or a human, and has articulation to support a wide range of poses - although lacking in any accessories to pose with. It is unlikely at this stage we will see Talos again as an MCU Legends figure so this is one to consider picking up while he remains relatively well-stocked at retail. While you won't be completely blown away, you certainly won't be disappointed either. Tamashii Nations have previewed a new 1/12 scale S.H. Figuarts release incoming of Ezra Miller's The Flash from last years movie of the same name, The figure appears, from the promo shots releases, to feature unmasked and masked heads with the latter also looking to have different mask options. "I Never Cared Much For Golf, So I'm Thinking I May Take Up Revenge..." Despite his integral role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Phase 1, Nick Fury has only had two Marvel Legends MCU releases prior to 2023. These were a 2015 exclusive as part of an S.H.I.E.L.D three-pack, and the de-aged Fury from Captain Marvel in 2019. His key role in the 2023 Secret Invasion series on Disney+ has now provided Nick with a third figure. It was released as part of the Hydra Stomper BAF wave which itself included figures from Hawkeye, WandaVision, Secret Invasion, and Marvel’s What If? The Secret Invasion Fury was a plastic-free release so arrived in a fully enclosed box with artwork on the front, sides, and rear of the figure and contents. The BAF checklist moved to the left-hand spine with Fury coming with the Stomper’s left leg. The figure is designed to replicate Nick Fury’s outfit towards the back end of the Secret Invasion series where he dons his iconic eye patch and long coat before heading off to the face the Skrulls. This is achieved with a lot of re-used parts with the arms and legs taken from the original Captain Marvel Fury with what appears to be an updated torso with a roll-neck top. Over all of this sits a long coat, buttoned up and reaching down past Fury’s knees. Everything is cast in black plastic with zero paint apps anywhere on the body - not even on the coat buttons. Variation is created with the finish, gloss on the shoes, and a duller matt on the coat vs the trousers. The head is a new sculpt and is a strong likeness to Samuel L. Jackson, but not quite reaching the levels we’ve seen on a handful of other MCU figures recently like Scarlet Witch or some of the Spider-Man No Way Home releases like Doc Ock and Norman Osborn. We also get Nick’s wooly hat as a removable piece giving the figure a couple of variant looks depending on your preference. The fit on the hat is excellent thanks to Nick’s bald head. The articulation on our 2023 figure is not pinless thanks to the re-used parts, so you do see pegs on the arms and legs although the latter is hidden behind the coat. We have 18 points of articulation in total with double joints at knees and elbows. The coat is a very hard plastic and renders much of the leg articulation useless. The legs too suffer from the same posing frustrations as the previous Fury figure with the ankle pivot not quite flattening enough against the trouser legs to get a flat-footed stance. Our Secret Invasion Nick has the same tendency to fall backward as his Captain Marvel version, and most other suited figures in the Legends series. Accessories include a pair of pistols, one with a silencer, cast in black plastic with no additional detailing or paintwork. These fit in either hand, both left and right are given trigger finger options. The guns are given a more dynamic look thanks to the included effects pieces allowing you to add either a red translucent muzzle flash to the gun or a milky white smoke effect. You get two of each and despite the small size, the fit into the gun barrel is quite secure. Secret Invasion Nick Fury is a middle-of-the-road release for the MCU Legends collector. It does a job, without doing anything spectacular. The level of accessories is good considering the inclusion of a BAF part as well, and I do like the effect pieces and how they work with the relatively plain guns to create a more dynamic display. Posing options are limited, but there is enough to work with, I just found the feet positioning another challenge as I have with most of the suited figures to date. There are certainly options here also with this figure for a more iconic Infinity Saga ‘Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury we have all been waiting for, and let’s hope that we don’t have too long to wait until that makes its way into the line. Following their previews at the weekend, the new McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label Exclusives of The RIval from Injustice League, and Cassandra Cain as Batgirl from Batgirls have opened for pre-order at Target in the US. Both figures are due to ship from Target in late April 2024.
