McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label Exclusive The Rival and Cassandra Cain as Batgirl

Following their previews at the weekend, the new McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label Exclusives of The RIval from Injustice League, and Cassandra Cain as Batgirl from Batgirls have opened for pre-order at Target in the US.

Both figures are due to ship from Target in late April 2024. Here in the UK (and other territories) distribution of Gold Label Exclusives is done via the local importer so expect to see these listed at the usual McFarlane stockists for your area.

EDWARD CLARISS was JAY GARRICK'S chemistry professor at MIDWESTERN UNIVERSITY. Clariss somehow managed to replicate the hard water formula that gave Jay his super speed. For a brief time afterward, Clariss took the identity of "THE RIVAL," a sort of REVERSE-FLASH, hell-bent on destroying the Golden Age Flash. The formula eventually wore off, and Jay was able to subdue Rival. Some months later, Clariss's powers returned, and he broke out of prison. Jay gave chase, but Rival ran so fast he ran himself out of existence, lost to the SPEED FORCE.

Cassandra Cain debuted during the “No Man’s Land” saga. She stalked earthquake-shattered Gotham City like a solitary, silent ghost, enforcing Batman’s law as the fourth Batgirl. Upon officially joining the Batman family, her training was in reading, writing, and social interaction, not combat. When she learned the world’s greatest killer, Lady Shiva Woosan, was her mother, Cassandra briefly led the League of Assassins, before being legally adopted by Bruce Wayne.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
