Super7 has revealed a 5th wave of their Silverhawks Ultimates figures, and this time round we can look forward to a new figure of Copper Kidd and the Speed Racer. Both figure and vehicle are available individually and are packaged separately, and if you order both directly from Super7 then a Super Bonus pack is also included. Copper Kidd features three head options, alternative hands, winged arms, effect parts, and two versions of May-Day (one perched, one flying). Hasbro has announced a surprise Star Wars Vintage Collection release of the New Republic E-Wing as seen in the recent Ahsoka Disney+ Series. The ship will also come with astromech droid KE4-N4 who's look was inspired by the original Kenner R2-D2 figure. The E-Wing is a Hasbro Pulse Exclusive shared with DIsney Stores and Disney Parks. It is due to ship in December 2024 and is open for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse now in a limited window that expires on the 5th of March. Don't worry about sourcing a pilot for the E-WIng as an accompanying video alongside the annuncement confirmed a new PIpeline reveal of KE4-N4's partner Lt. Callahan. Mezco have revealed the full details for their One:12 Collective Ghost Face. The figure features four mask options, including a glow in the dark version. You also get soft goods tailored clothes including the cloak with integrated wire for posing. THere are a selection of hand options and accessories include knives, scythe, remote control, popcorn bow and blood splast effect pieces. Coming to Big Bad Toy Store as a Gold Label exclusive, this new McFarlane Mandarin Spawn 'Black and White Accent Edition'. THis new variant of Mandarin Spawn features a new paint job with black and white accents, hence the name. A series of new promotional images have been shared for the upcoming release of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Tamashi Nations Meisho Movie Realization line. These reimagined figures from the Star Wars Universe see our fabourite chracters themed around Feudal Japan.. "That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer." After a strong start in 2020 and into 2021 the McFarlane Warhammer 40k line went on a hiatus in 2023. The final wave of 2022 was the Dark Tide videogame series which didn’t appear to do too well at retail, and many assumed the line was finished. Come late 2023 though leaks started to come through of a new wave for early 2024, and this was finally confirmed in late November with the reveal of a 6 figure wave containing the first Terminator in the line, two more marines - and Artist Proof unpainted variants for each of them. The February 2024 released figures see the line undergo a makeover in terms of packaging. The boxes have moved to a brand new colour scheme featuring a lighter base colour overlaid with some Chapter-specific colouring on the left-hand side alongside the Chapter badge. The right-hand side retains the dark future-gothic look and carries the figure's name while round the back the entirety of the rear is turned over to a glorious illustration of the figure you are unpacking. There is quite a lot of reflection through the included window, and the reason for this is clear when you open the box as McFarlane has now moved these figures into a black plastic tray with no securing ties or strings. Over this sits a clear plastic lid, and it is this that gives the dual reflection from the box front. While this inner tray looks brilliant, you can feel a reduction in quality as the plastic is very thin and unstable once removed from the box. The other new addition to these relaunched figures is the inclusion of a ‘collector card’, a feature seen in a lot of McFarlane lines, particularly the DC Multiverse. These are good quality and feature a repeat of the artwork from the rear of the box on one side and some character details on the other. The Khorne Berserker is the third Marine from the Chaos Legions to join McFarlane’s Warhammer 40k series. Despite this, there is very limited re-use on this new Khorne Berserker and I can only spot the feet, forearms, the internal section of the torso, and the central section of the backpack as carried forward from the previous releases. Like all Space Marines in the line, the armour is all cast in a base colour - in this case the bright red of Khorne. Onto this, we have sculpted iconography with the World Eater chapter badge on the left shoulder and various studded elements trimming the shoulders, wrists and leg guards - all of these are painted in gold. There is damage and wear built into the armour sculpt with pitted surfaces and chips throughout and if you do choose to add more paint application to your figure then all this detail will certainly be enhanced. The helmet is a new twin-horned creation and is predominantly gold in colour with green eyes, black mouthpiece and tubing and red applied only on the forehead and to infill the two extended horn pieces. The Berserker is also wearing a sashed skirt section with a grey cloth-like belt, gunmetal clasp and hanging chains. Round the back the Chaos Marine backpack continues with the same red base colour and black extensions with longer black spikes down either side vs the previous version, This is the first Marine I am aware of to come with alternative hands, allowing you to give the Khorne Berserker some alternative grips for the two included weapons. While that sounds great, both griping hands still cause an issue due to how rigid they are and you will be advised to use some gentle heat to open up the grip - but also when swapping the hands as the fit is quite tight and gripping a spiked forearm while trying to engage a hand into place can be painful. The included accessories are good with a large Chaos Marine Battle axe to wield or a smaller bolter. The Axe is the best of the two featuring a two-tone black/grey colour scheme and lots more spikes down its shaft and onto the head and blade. The bolter is more subdued with a black casing, blue upper 'energy' panel, a handful of spikes and some more handing chains although these are much less defined than the ones on the armour and are unpainted. The hand combos allow for both weapons to be wielded at once, or just singularly with an open right hand available to cup the axe in a two-handed pose. Articulation count sits at 20 points in total with pivot toes on the feet another benefit of carrying over parts from the Gold Label release. Like most Marines to date, this level of articulation doesn’t translate to a huge range of options but I was pleasantly surprised with getting the Berseker to stand, walk, run and wield weaponry with relative ease. The joints feel robust and all positions hold in place once posed. The Space Marines have become the real basis of the McFarlane WH40K line and this Khorne Berserker from the World Eaters is a welcome addition to bolster the forces of Chaos. The new packaging and art card seemingly bring with it a price hike to circa £27 for these, but the quality of the plastic and articulation make that feel warranted. Paintwork is to a set standard and allows for customisation and enhancement - or of course, there is an Artists proof option if you want to start from scratch. Probably not a figure to army build considering the price and the amount of shelf space he takes up, but a recommended purchase for those assembling a lineup of both Loyalist and Heretic Marines alike. "We march for Macragge and we shall know no fear!" After a strong start in 2020 and into 2021 the McFarlane Warhammer 40k line went on a hiatus in 2023. The final wave of 2022 was the Dark Tide videogame series which didn’t appear to do too well at retail, and many assumed the line was finished. Come late 2023 though leaks started to come through of a new wave for early 2024, and this was finally confirmed in late November with the reveal of a 6 figure wave containing the first Terminator in the line, two more marines - and Artist Proof unpainted variants for each of them. The February 2024 released figures see the line undergo a makeover in terms of packaging. The boxes have moved to a brand new colour scheme featuring a lighter base colour overlaid with some Chapter-specific colouring on the left-hand side alongside the Chapter badge. The right-hand side retains the dark future-gothic look and carries the figures name, while round the back the entirety of the rear is turned over to a glorious illustration of the figure you are unpacking. There is quite a lot of reflection through the included window, and the reason for this is clear when you open the box as McFarlane has now moved these figures into a black plastic tray with no securing ties or strings. Over this sits a clear plastic lid, and it is this that gives the dual reflection from the box front. While this inner tray looks brilliant, you can feel a reduction in quality as the plastic is very thin and unstable once removed from the box. The other new addition to these relaunched figures is the inclusion of a ‘collector card’, a feature seen in a lot of McFarlane lines, particularly the DC Multiverse. These are good quality and feature a repeat of the artwork from the rear of the box on one side and some character details on the other. The Terminator is classed as a Megafig and to that end arrives in a larger box than the standard releases. For those who’ve handled McFarlane Marines previously the weight of this new Terminator is somewhat of a shock as he is very lightweight in hand and nowhere close to the solid feel of the previous Marines or indeed the other Megafigs in the main line, the Orks. The body is cast in the blue plastic of the Ultramarine Chapter with relief sculpted iconography around the armour including the Crux Terminatus on the left shoulder painted in grey. The winged skull in gold on the chest and a smaller Crux Terminatus on the right knee. The armour is further enhanced with the Ultramarine Chapter symbol painted onto the right shoulder, and some decal applications of skulls on the left Power Fist and a chapter script on the left shin guard. Some of the joints between the armour are black plastic creating a comparison to the blue armoured pieces, and into the neck section, we have a generic Terminator armoured helmet, cast in bright white with red painted eyes and some grey detail around the mouthpiece. Our Terminator’s weaponry includes the pre-fitted Power Fist on the left hand, and we also get a Storm Bolter to fit into the right hand. This bolter is also very lightweight and feels hollow, but this is probably a good thing when we get onto articulation in a little while. The gun is black with gunmetal panels and a painted gold winged skull sculpted panel on one side. The fit into the hand remains tight - a long-running issue with the 40k McFarlane figures and a dip in some hot water to soften the fingers may be beneficial. Once posed with the Bolter the articulation comes into play for posing our Terminator. None of the Marines to date have had extensive movement due to the bulk of the armour and this bigger Terminator is about the same. While you can count up to 14 points of articulation, our Ultramarine will be limited to selected poses. For the legs the feet are wide enough to support walking poses, otherwise, the difference options are limited to stances only. The arms are much more agile and the decision to joint the shoulder armour separately into the top of the arm helps this. Sadly most of the joints are not ratcheted and are so loose the figure does struggle to hold up the blaster in firing positions - I’d hate to imagine the issue this would cause with a heavy accessory. The waist movement while also loose, does hold its position and helps with slightly more dynamic stances. The head can rotate within its socket to look to either side. The original WH40k Megafig price point was £34.99 for the original Ork figures, this Terminator adds a full tenner on top at retail although that increased shelf price doesn’t feel like it brings too much extra value to the figure itself. The boxes are great, particularly for boxed collectors and also as they can be opened and then repacked without some of the damage inflicted on the old box. The art cards are OK, but not something I will do anything with. The continued inclusion of the tiny round stands for figures with this level of bulk is a strange choice - and even they have been reworked with a much lighter and hollower feeling plastic. The figure itself looks brilliant and is scaled well to the rest of the Marines released to date, standing a good head and a half over a standard Space Marine. The paint application is fine, if basic, and that is perhaps a strong point of the line in providing a basic level for us unskilled or unwilling to enhance the standard figures with further paint effects - and even a full unpainted option as an Artists Proof to replicate the repaint and customisations options seen also in the mainstream miniatures from Games Workshop. The plastic choice and the articulation are difficult to stomach considering the heft of the earlier figures, but there is just about enough in the figure to pose for display. Hopefully, this won’t be the last of the Terminator figures from McFarlane with a definite need for more chapters - particularly Deathwing - as well as differing ranks and weapon configurations. It was slightly surreal seeing Hasbro promoting new product from McFarlane this week as the latter unveiled its first products from the new licensing agreement. Joining the 3-inch Page Punchers series are releases from Hasbro's G.I. Joe and Transformers stables. The Page Punchers premis is a small articulated figure, packed with a related comic book. These new releases do just that and in a two-pack format giving you two figures and two comic books in each set. Lining up for Transfromers are Optimus Prime and Megatron, and Bumblebee with Wheeljack. The G.I. Joe offerings inclde Duke & Snake Eyes, and Cobra Commander with a Crimson Guard. All four sets are general releases and have an April 2024 release date. OPTIMUS PRIME: Optimus Prime is the noble leader of the heroic Autobots. He believes freedom is the right of all sentient beings. He carries the Matrix of Leadership, an ancient and powerful artifact that gives him upgraded abilities and knowledge of all Cybertronian history. He is beloved for his compassionate nature, steadfast leadership, and heroic feats in battle. MEGATRON: Megatron was the merciless leader of the evil Decepticons and one of the most feared and powerful warriors to ever emerge from Cybertron. “Can the Spider-Man come out to play?” Almost 2-years after the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Hasbro Marvel Legends team brought us a winter wave of figures from the movie including the three different versions of Spider-Man as well as MJ, Matt Murdock, and Sandman. The wave was further enhanced by the release of two supporting deluxe figures, the Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Green Goblin was released in November, and unlike the carded figures, he was packed in a deluxe Marvel Legends windowless box. The packaging did mirror some of the design principles of the carded wave with the red and gold tramlines, the use of the Spider-man logo, and the deep blue backing colour that also contained images of Norman Osborn’s Green Goblin. Illustrations of the figure are used instead of the window with a posed version on the front and more static shots on the side and rear confirming the full contents. The whole piece was packed up under the No Way Home logo. Unusually for a window-less box, the interior of the packaging included a plastic tray held in place by an outer cardboard sleeve. This allowed the figure and glider to be secured without any risk of damage or warping - an issue we have seen when accessories in particular are wrapped in the wax paper and left somewhat unsecured in the inner box. Green Goblin is, of course, a full new figure from the ground up, and based on his look at the end of No Way Home with his suit now inclusive of the tattered remains of his purple hoodie as well as some repairs he must have worked on before the final face-off with Peter at the Statue of Liberty. The entirety of the base figure is cast in a metallic green with plenty of detail across the suit. Elements are then neatly picked out in gold and purple with silver also utilised at the knees and around the waist. The body is overlaid with a soft brown rubber strap that makes up Goblin’s belt and pouch as well as extending up over his shoulder. Over this sits the tattered purple hoodie. This is an individual piece, but is hooked in over the head and under the arm so removing it will take a bit of work and there is a risk of damage. The suit is completed with some armaments on either forearm - the left arm is retracted while the right arm has the two spikes extended from the main body of the weaponry. Goblin features two head sculpts, the first is that of Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe) sculpted with that crazed Goblin smile. The likeness is one of the best to date in the Marvel Legends Cinematic releases and is bolstered by the face print detailing, the styling of the hair, and a pair of removable goggles that sit over the head and include transparent purple lenses through which you can see Norman’s eyes. While the Goblin mask was smashed at the start of the film, Hasbro has included it in this set as an alternative head. It is cast in the same metallic green as the suit with yellow eyes and silver teeth details. It swaps out easily with the Osborn head - but does leave a touch of exposed skin when worn around the neck. If you do choose to display Goblin with the mask, then there is a figure hack at the bottom of our review that can put the Norman Osborn head to use as well. The final accessory for the set is a single Goblin Bomb cast in orange with a green button. It fits perfectly into the sculpt of the right hand - so much so that I thought that it was magnetic to start with when it snapped into place. This allows you to pose Norman ready to throw the bomb, although there is no other way to holster it on his belt for example when not in use. Articulation is 18 points in total, all pinless. Goblin doesn’t appear to get butterfly shoulders, but that doesn’t affect posing in any significant way. The legs and arms are all fully mobile with additional pivots built into the ankle rockers for mounting and riding the included glider. Goblin does feature the drop and pivot hips we are seeing now on a lot of Marvel Legends figures. That means the legs drop down to pose and that can feel a bit springy and I have seen some of them break quite easily. Moving onto the Glider, and again this is a brand new piece sculpted for the set. It is made up of silver cast parts that connect to a central undercarriage. Each wing is connected by a pivot that then allows the Glider to articulate in the middle with either wing pivoting outward or inward when flying. The paint apps are quite simple with purple added to much of the upper wing surfaces. The front prongs are included but are soft for safety reasons and can be warped out of the box, or from posing. The glider has an included flight stand, and this is the triangular piece that originated with the Star Wars Black Series speeder bike. It features three circular balls that slot into the joint at the base of the glider. These three options allow for low, medium, and high posing with the remaining three points of the stand providing a stable base. The connection can be temperamental. Both my son and I have the same figure and his stand is really tight to secure, but then holds the glider well. In contrast, mine is easy to connect but sits quite loose which means my Goblin can pivot off to the side or front if knocked. Each wing features a foot grip that can plug in and out of both the glider and the figure. These are handed so you will need to line up the left grip with the left foot and vice versa. I found it easier to get the grip on the foot with the foot peg slotted into place, and then place them and the figure onto the glider. The articulation all works to support the flight position, particularly the ankle pivot - but also a pivot on the foot rests themselves which further enhances the available positioning of the feet and legs and allows not only general standing on the glider poses, but replication of the sharper turns with the glider angled down but the figure remaining upright. All in all, this is perhaps one of the best Marvel Legends Cinematic releases to date. The sculpt is great and matches what we see on screen - albeit scene-specific for the final battle. The paintwork is great, the articulation works perfectly and the interaction with the glider is great - although that will be dependent on the fit of your stand. The accessories enhance the figure further with the Goblin Bomb and those removable goggles. And the inclusion of the helmet is a great nod to fans who will want to display their Goblin paying more of an homage to his first scenes in No Way Home or even Spider-Man 2002 - although I think with the key components now available to them it would be remiss of Hasbro not to give us an original Green Goblin figure if they can do so? A highly recommended purchase and a purchase not to dwell too much on as the figure is selling well, although at the time of writing remains available at many stores indicating a sensible level of these have been made available. Figure Hacks If you aren't a fan of that flesh-tone neck when the Goblin mask head is in use, the Etsy seller RDJCustoms have you covered with a pre-painted neckpiece that slots straight over the neck joining up the chest armour with the helmet. And for those of you who want to revisit Spider-Man (2002) and a suited Norman Osborn, I can confirm that the unmasked head is a pretty good fit to the Agent Ross figure from Black Panther. The flesh tones of the neck to the head are very close so no repainting is needed. The blue suit and tie are also a relatively good match to the scenes outside the Museum in the original Spider-Man movie. Super7 is adding a Shogun-inspired release of Godzilla into their Toho Ultimates series. The 1995 Shogon Godzilla is based on his look from Godzilla vs Destroyah (1995).
