NECA has officially announced their new Friday the 13th Ultimate release of Pamela Voorhees. The release will feature Pamela with four different head options and extra hands. She is suitably armed with bow and arrows, and axe, a broken oar, a knife, and a machete. The figure is boxed in Ultimate packaging with an opening front cover and artwork based on the original 1980 movie promotional materials. It is due to ship in May 2025. "You smell very delicious, but I will not bite you." Hasbro’s Dungeons & Dragons line of 6-inch figures has had a checkered past, starting as a one off release of Drizzt Do’ Urden back in 2020, moving onto the animated 1980’s cartoon figures in 2023 and in the same year a series of figures called The Golden Archive based on the new Dungeons & Dragons movie, Honor Among Thieves. Hasbro then attempted to expand on what they hoped would be the success of the new movie figures with what they called Legacy releases. Only three of these were ever released: an updated Drizzt , the brand new sculpted Xanathar the Beholder , and a D&D Legacy version of the Owlbear. With the exception of the early 2020 release of Drizzt, all of Hasbro’s D&D figures have been released in plastic-free packaging. That means no window to show off the figure and the boxes relying on artwork and photos of the figures to promote the content. For the larger Deluxe ‘Monsters’ this is a rectangular box with a cut-out corner to pay homage to D&D’s iconic D6 dice. There is an ornate golden trim framing the box front and the images headed with the Golden Archive logo, and with the bold red D&D logo sitting at the bottom of the box front. The front contains an illustrated image of the Owlbear and a smaller inset picture of the contents, which is not posed to show off the figure particularly well.  The illustrated image is used again on the side art, while the opposite side carries a brief overview of the Owlbear and its ‘reputation for ferocity’ and that it is one of the most ‘feared predators of the wild’. The back of the box is turned off to further showing off the figure with a larger posed image of the Owlbear against a forest backdrop and a confirmed height of nearly 8.5 inches, although that illustration is misleading as the measurement is with the arms raised and essentially presents the figure as smaller than it actually is. An inset confirms the inclusion of extra feet but doesn’t really sell the reason why, as we will see later on. All in all, the images are lacklustre and do not quite sell the figure as intended. Inside the box our Owlbear arrives wrapped in waxy paper inside a cardboard tray. There is a need for assembly on arrival with the chest and back separate hard plastic pieces that need connecting to the main body. This is not overly difficult, but there is a small instruction manual to help - the trickiest element is getting both pieces in around the head. Contrary to the box art, the figure stands a full 8.5 inches toe to head when in an upright position, larger than the box indicates the figure to be. It is cast in a brown plastic throughout with a sculpted feather texture across all of the body, translating to fur around the feet and claws. Colouring is added with a lighter brown tan colour across the chest, inset with some feathers picked out in black. This tan tone fades out to the edges and towards the stomach. On the arms and legs, the fur is darkened with a darker brown blended tone. The arms include extended feathers to the back as you would find on an owl's wing, and in contrast to this darker tone, these are picked out in a stark white colour. The body details are finalised with jet black gloss claws on both hands and feet. The figure utilises the original Owlbear release from Honor Among Thieves, the white Owlbear  that Doric transforms into. While the body is identical, Hasbro has changed the head to a new piece, more reflective of the source material and artwork within the D&D game system and similar to the Owlbear seen in the Baldur’s Gate 3 video game. This is also brown plastic, with the facial section using more of the lighter tan tone, but interspersed with darker brown - almost black feathered panels. Into the centre is the open beak in orange with the mouth interior painted a glossy red. The eyes feature a black ring, amber sclera, and black iris with a white dot added for reflection to the right-hand side. Our Owlbear sports 17 points of articulation, all pinless, and built around the Owlbear anatomy and feathered coating, which does restrict certain movement. The legs are solid and the hips, knees, and ankle rockers combine to hold the oversized figure in an upright position. The arms feature butterfly shoulders and a hinged shoulder feathered panel that moves with the arm, allowing the arms to be raised up and outward. The elbows are more limited in their movement, as are the wrist joints. The torso ball joint and dual neck joint support variations in the upright position but are mainly designed around converting the Owlbear to an all-fours look. That look is achieved by swapping out the ‘hands’ on the arms for the alternative pair of feet. You can then raise the head up using the dual neck joints and the rear end backwards with the torso joint. The legs can then be swung down to meet the floor, allowing your Owlbear to be displayed on all fours. This look is much better than the solitary box art picture makes out, and the articulation here still allows for some more attacking poses with the front legs still having the ability (one at a time) to be raised and into a swiping attack motion.  The Owlbear has not performed particularly well at retail, something true of much of the Golden Archive series which is a shame. It won’t have been helped by closed box packaging, but it also seems there is not a huge market for D&D figures out there. The Owlbear initially retailed at circa £40 here in the UK, but I have now seen it as low as £12.99, which is a bargain for such a large and relatively well-designed figure. Overall looks are consistent with the D&D source material, and it was good to see Hasbro use a new head rather than go for a full repaint of the Doric Owlbear figure. Articulation does its job, and the conversion from an upright stance to all fours works well enough, considering the limitations of the joints. With a limited number of D&D Legacy figures to display with the Owlbear, it is currently sat with my Drizzt and Xanathar figures. Maybe we will get lucky and be able to add more to this small collection in the future, although I am not holding out much hope. "When veteran Guardsmen flee, the Kasrkin stand. When victory is near, the Kasrkin seize it. When the Archenemy attacks, the Kasrkin Elite are the rock upon which traitors shall break." The McFarlane Warhammer 40k series of figures launched in 2020 and has predominately focused on the Space Marines and Traitor Chapters from the Games Workshop WH40k Universe. In 2022, we got our first Imperial Guard releases thanks to the tie-in with the Dark Tide video game, and in 2024, these forces were expanded further with the release of the Imperial Guard Kasrkin, the elite troops of the Astra Militarum from the Fortress World of Cadia. The Kasrkin Guard is the first non-Space Marine to be released in the newer format WH40k packaging with a larger window box in a base white colour and adorned with an accent colour based on its contents. For this release, a green tone is chosen in line with the Guardsman armour. This green, almost camouflage, colouring is seen on the sides of the box and around the box and is also inlaid with imagery including some of the gothic symbolism of the WH40k universe, but also of the Cadian forces in battle. The rear of the box carries no background information or details about the figure, only a tiny list of contents. These contents are packed into a flimsy-feeling inner black tray. Despite similarities to the Dark Tide Imperial Guardsman , the Kasrkin shares no obvious parts and is an entirely new sculpt made up of a beige undersuit and then fitted with armoured panels across the chest, shoulders, wrists, upper legs, knees and boots. The armour is cast in a green plastic and then decorated further with an angular camo pattern in black and edged in white. There is also detailing on the chest with a red indicator light and silver buttons, and a sculpted and silver painted Imperial two-headed eagle symbol. Decals are applied to each shoulder with the Caidan World symbol of a skull inside a temple on the right hand side, and the number 005 on the left confirming the unit number.  The Kasrkin wear a backpack, also cast in green with large silver aerial and lower compartment. It is also adorned with a silver painted eagle symbol sculpted into the piece. It is glued in place and not readily removable from the figure. vs Veteran Imperial Guardsman from Dark Tide (right) The helmet is similarly cast in green plastic with a silver painted visor and two breathing canisters picked out in silver on either side of the mouthpiece. To the left-hand side is a torch/camera component with red red-painted lens, while another winged skull icon is sculpted into the forehead and painted silver. Visible beneath the helmet and connecting into the torso is a skin tone neck, demonstrating that this is a trooper in armour and not a fully enclosed suit like the Space Marines.  The Kasrkin comes with four hand options in total. These include a pair of gripping hands for holding the included weapon, a spare left hand that can cradle the weapon if the grip is not used, and a pointing right hand for leading other troops into battle. The weapon itself is a large Plasma Rifle, similar in design to the Blood Angel Hellblaster but a new piece in its own right. It is cast in black with a pearlescent blue upper chamber and a dull silver barrel. It features a standard grip and trigger and and a further horizontal grip down the barrel for a two-handed secure firing position.  The figure has 18 points of articulation, with an obvious move to pinless joints evident on the upper body compared to the older Imperial Guard figure. Pins are still used on the legs which include toe joints, ankle rockers, dual joint knees and hip joints. The arms feature wrist joints, double jointed elbows, a shoulder ball joint and an incorporated butterfly joint - the latter being a weak spot on the figure and something that will pop out of the torso when the arms are posed if you are not careful. Articulation is wrapped up by a basic waist joint with limited movement and a neck ball joint peg. The posing options are adequate without being overly extensive. The Kasrkin can wield his weapon and be put into basic firing positions or pose without it and using the gesturing hand to order other troopers around. The legs allow a stable neutral pose and can then be used with the included circular black stand for slightly more dynamic walking or, at a push, running positions.  Visually the Kasrkin figure from McFarlane is very well sculpted, painted to a basic standard, and inclusive of the relevant iconography. More talented collectors can then choose to enhance the decor or may opt for the unpainted Artist Proof to create their own piece. The figure could be an army-builder but it lacks any alternative parts to make that viable without looking too uniform. While not wanting to see the Wh40k prices jump any further (they went from £20 to £30 very recently), an alternative head or weapon option might have encouraged army building purchases. The figure does fit in will with the other figures released to date, expanding an Imperial Guard unit alongside the Dark Tide Guardsman and Ogron as a particularly relevant option. On the 4th of April (04/04) we got our first tease of a new set of Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps movie figures. The image shows us the arms and hands of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing - with Reed featuring his elongated arms, and Johnny inclusive of a flame effect piece. The Thing also features uncovered arms, so is a different look to the jumpsuit we have seen in the trailer. The next series of DC retro figures on the way from McFarlane is the Super Friends line which will feature 6-inch figures of Batman, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, and Sinestro. The wave will opened for pre-orders at stockists as of the 4th of April 2025. It is down to ship in early May 2025. We've updated our McFarlane Collector Database with these new figures. On the 3rd of April 2025 our long standing Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended due to an 'individual' not known to us managing to cirumvent the Meta security principles to link an inappropriate Instagram account to our exisitng accounts - that account was then in violation of the Meta rules of conduct and was banned alongside all our existing content and my own personal 15 year history of memories, friends and photos. We are working through the extremely frustrating recovery process, but the issue is one that you can read about online and Meta is not supportive of the cases, and most users who are hacked in this way lose their account permanently - locked into a cycle of being unable to log on, and if you cant log on you cant raise an appeal. If that wasn't bad enough, we appear unable to setup a temporary Facebook page to fill in the gap. Our Twitter and YouTube content is not affected. We are also active on BlueSky Update 4th April: I was finally able to locate an 'appeal' email address, so an appeal has gone in but not yet been acknowledged. Tamashii Nations are releasing an updated S.H. Figuarts Obi-Wan Kenobi figure, this time based on his Revenge of the Sith appearance with an updated head sculpt and soft goods outer robe. Obi-Wan will come with two head options, extra hands, lightsaber hilt, lightsaber blade and lightsaber effect parts. Revenge of the Sith Obi-Wan Kenobi will ship at the end of September 2025. He is pictured in the promo images fighting Anakin, but it is not clear if Anakin will also get a re-release to mark the 20th Anniversary year or if this is just referencing the 2023 release. “Did you really think that I'd let that happen, that I'd let you take away my power just because you're blind to what true power can bring you?” Spider-Man: Now Way Home was released back in 2021, and here in the Spring of 2025, Hasbro are still working through bridging us each of the returning villains in the Marvel Legends format. With Green Goblin , Sandman , and Doc Ock released it is now Electro’s turn for the spotlight with a Deluxe Marvel Legends release arriving to collectors in late March 2025.  Electro is a deluxe format, so it uses the wider square Marvel Legends black gloss box with the Spider-Man: No Way Home logo and illustrated artwork based on the Electro we meet in the movie when he is brought to the MCU by Doctor Strange’s spell and after he uses Stark tech for an upgrade. The text on the rear of the box pretty much covers this off as a summary background. The figure itself is set against a bright yellow backing card that incorporates a blown-up view of the Spider-Man logo while also being relevant to the yellow power that Electro controls in the final showdown. This design principle is in keeping with the 2023 carded wave and in close to the backdrop used on the original figures back in 2021, although these were in the older style packaging. This makes any boxed/carded collection of No Way Home figures a bit of a hodge-podge of styles across the 4 years or so they’ve been released.  The figure itself is, as the box art indicates, based on Electro as we see him during the battle at the Statue of Liberty, where he is fully upgraded after absorbing the power of Spider-Man’s universe and the Stark Tech. This suit is made up of a black vest, tan trousers and Nubook boots - what remains of the Firefighter outfit he borrows after first arriving in MCU Spider-Man’s Universe. Over this is assembled a harness of yellow wiring that fix around a silver belt and further component panels that attach to Electro’s legs, chest and upper arms. Each silver panel is slotted into a socket on the body but is not glued or fixed in place. Colouring across the costume and the electric suit harness is crisp and detailed. For some reason that as yet is not fully confirmed, Electro comes with a single head and while it appears to have a Jamie Foxx likeness, a full translucent yellow ‘Electro’ electrical mask piece is fixed and glued over the top. This represents a very specific instance in the movie that pays homage to the classic Electro mask but is not reflective of the look throughout the rest of the fight scene.  With no unmasked head, the Deluxe status is therefore very much built on accessories. And these are also not as extensive as we might like, considering the comparisons we can draw with Green Goblin who came with two heads, weapons, and his glider - or with Doc Ock and his multi-articulated arms and extra claws. Electro is packed only with an alternative pair of fingerless gloved hands, allowing you to display him with open hands or clenched fists. And alongside these is a pair of yellow translucent electrical blast effects that feel similar in their execution to those packed with the Ghostbusters Gozer figure and with Emperor Palpatine - although they are not the same.  These electrical effects include a wrist clip about an inch up from the shallow end of the piece. This clips onto Electro’s wrist and holds the effects in place. From this point the figure can then be displayed with the electrical storm as a weapon and extending outward towards his foes, or as a levitation option as seen in the movie - although this will require a flight stand. These are reasonably impressive once posed but will take up quite a bit of shelf space for display. Powered effects are also not for everyone, and while you can choose not to use the two larger pieces, the figure will always feature the head effect. Articulation is a standard 19 points in total, all pinless. The figure is less mobile than the joint count might indicate thanks to the way the wiring harness is plugged into the body; any excessive leg movements cause the plug-in parts to pop out, throwing the overall look. The same happens with the arms, and once these parts have popped out the first time, they are extremely reluctant to go back into their socket, which is a shame as you are always fighting against the figure when trying to pose it. That restriction hinders a number of poses, and any excessive movement like kneeling might permanently damage the wiring. Be cautious when posing Electro, but also be assured there is a reasonable range of motion for your display. The Marvel Legends Electro stretches the Deluxe status quite some way versus other comparable releases. It feels like 75% of a figure, and it needed the alternative Jamiee Foxx head as a minimum and perhaps a flight stand and some smaller electrical effect surges and parts rather than leaving us to choose the enormous versions or none at all. The figure has also been driven on looks rather than articulation, with the wiring harness looking awesome in a neutral stance but popping out of position and stretching when the figure is posed, with the legs being particularly problematic.  At a £35 RRP price tag here in the UK (shop around for the best price) this is a figure that is unlikely to be re-done and is the best you will therefore get for a No Way Home display and to move a step forward to completing your villains line-up. The 3rd party aftermarket will no doubt resolve some of the issues with the figure, such as a flight stand and most likely an alternative head option down the line for those with the skills to paint one. A new exclusive variant of McFarlane's DC Multiverse Grim Knight figure is heading to Big Bad Toy Store . The Black and White Accent Edition figure from Dark Nights: Metal will come with a grenade launcher, machine gun, and the weapons arsenal backpack. The colour scheme has been adjusted from the standard release to a grey and white finish with blue highlights. A display stand is also included. The set is packed into a closed collector box and limited to 5000 units. It should ship in late May 2025. Nacelle Toys first wave of Star Trek figures originally opened up for pre-orders earlier this Spring and at the time the disappointing news for collectors outside of the US was the lience only allowed Nacelle to distribute in the United States. After an anxious wait, Collectors in the UK, Canada, Germany, and Australia can now order the Series 1 figures directly from Nacelle Toys . Here in the UK each figure is priced at £23. The shipping is very prohibitive at circa £37. The overall price, including delivery, is charged at the point of pre-order and is listed as a binding agreement - they cannot be cancelled at any point after the contract of sale to pre-order the item is made. Series 1 of the line will launch in October 2025. Each figure comes with alternative hands and appropriate accessories such as phasers and datapads. Captain Jellico and Valkris also feature larger diorama pieces - Jellico comes with the fish tank from Picard's ready room, and Valkris with the Genesis Device Torpedo. Packaging images (mockup) have also been released and fill use a red and black starscape window box theme complete with numbering and the logo of the particular Star Trek franchise from which they are taken. The official Hasbro G.I. Joe Facebook channel has shared a batch of new digital preview images for some upcoming G.I. Joe Classified Series releases. They include Monkey Wrench, Combat Armour Cobra Commander, and Major Bludd. This trio were all referenced in the most recent G.I. Joe Fan Stream , but this is the first images we have of the three characters. The COBRA forces are also being expanded with the C.L.A.W. glider and Pilot which was first seen back at SDCC 2024. The final image was the same Snake Eyes digital image we also saw at the last Fan Stream. Greetings, citizenssss. The Year of the Snake just keeps slithering along with a new wave of G.I. Joe Classified figures dominated by Cobra naturally. The newesssst member of the winning team: Dreadnok Monkeywrench demonstrated he’s the type of scum that rises to the top in joining Zartan’s Band of Viperssss. He comes equipped with his ssssignature trident harpoon and more for doing unprovoked mayhem. My subordinates are always sssseeking to improve themselves to curry my favor as evidenced by the return of my favorite mercenary Major Bludd, now with pinlessss arms and legs. Saving the best for last of course, you get me, Cobra Commander with Combat Armor. This ssssinister figure of yours truly includes alternate versions of my striking visage as well as my precious pet iguana Sssserpentor. Maybe you’ve heard of him? “Come on, when have I ever let you down” Clone Commander Cody was first released in the Star Wars Black Series way back in 2015, one of the very early ranking Clone Characters and the first in the Phase II armour after a slew of Phase I Clone Armor releases of various ranks. Cody would become one of the very early ‘sought after’ figures in the series until an Archive re-release in 2021. Roll forward to 2025, and to mark the 20th Anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, Commander Cody is back - not only in special Anniversary packaging but also utilising the newer Clone Trooper body. The Revenge of the Sith anniversary packaging pays homage directly to the original 2005 figures in the 3.75 series. This is a shaped blister card design with the blister dolded and glued onto the cardback itself. The backing card is the iconic image of Vader’s helmet overlooking the lava flow of Mustafar, with the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan reflected in the dome of the helmet. The movie logo itself is visible on the inserted front panel within the lower front part of the blister. The character name sits to the side of this, as does a cut-out image of Commander Cody that protrudes upwards within the blister itself. There is no place on the front of the packaging for either the Black Series logo, or the Revenge of the Sith Anniversary logo - items that had featured on previous anniversary cardback releases. The back of the card is more or less the same again as the 2005 version, with the text updated to mark the 20th Anniversary celebration and the image updated to that of the Black Series figure. The packaging cannot be opened without some level of damage to the blister or the card, so these Anniversary Sets are not something that can be resealed in the future.  Cody is replicated as we see him towards the end of Revenge of the Sith, on Utapau, and at the point he receives Order 66 direct from Palpatine. This is all done on the newer Clone Trooper body, which features split component parts between the armour and the black ridged undersuit, creating a cleaner edge to each armoured panel and also expanding articulation as we will see later. Over the white of Cody’s armour we have the markings of the 212th Battalion in a deeper orange tone that is applied to recreate the hand-painted aspect of the Clone armour with uneven and rough edging and applied battle worn scratches. Cody also features a Commander insignia to the left of his chest plate with blue and orange rank indicators.  Cody’s armour is a variation of the usual Clone Trooper configuration with a different left shoulder Pauldron that features an extended white, soft plastic aerial. The amrour is finished off with a combat belt featuring multiple pouches - some in grey, some painted orange, and a couple in a silver finish. Cody is also sporting a variant backpack with an inverted tear drop design and a central panel in grey and silver. This is not removable. The helmet follows suit with the armour, cast in white and with orange markings around the visor in particular. Two grey stripes are added across the dome with the usual eye lenses painted gloss black and grey and silver around the mouth piece. At either side of the helmet, Cody has further aerials in a softer plastic gun metal finish.  vs original 2015 release (right) Compared to the original release, both figures carry the same detail of armour configuration and markings but the newer figure is slightly smaller and looks and feel more squat and compact. It loses the longer neck and extended waist the older Clone figures carried. That does mean the older body will still be preferable to some collectors from an aesthetics point of view. For the first time, Cody’s helmet is removable, revealing the standard sculpted Clone head beneath. This is the same Temura Morrison likeness used on many of the unmasked Clones in recent years like Commander Appo and onward. Facial printing enhances the likeness over the base skin tone, but not perhaps to the extent we see on other more recent photo print figures, with Cody still looking and feeling a bit flat and soft in the details. There has also been no attempt to include Cody’s scar as seen in the briefing scene when the 212th arrive on Utapau. The helmet fit over the unmasked head is good and secure, with a risk of paint rub over time. There is a small part of Cody’s chin visible beneath the helmet mouthpiece from certain angles but this is minimal and can be managed through repositioning of the head and neck joint. The original Cody figure and its Archive re-pack always featured both of the main Clone Army weapons. This ROTS release has lost the larger DC-15A Blaster Rifle and only includes the smaller DC-15s blaster.  This in itself is OK, as Cody is only seen using the smaller rifle during the events of ROTS. This blaster is cast in black and fits into either hand, with both left and right hands coming with an extended trigger finger.  The new accessory provides the ability to display Cody in the iconic Order 66 scene from Revenge of the Sith. It is a cast 22mm high holographic figure of the cloaked Palpatine in a translucent blue plastic. The hologram sits on the circular emitter and the idea is for this to sit in Cody’s hands. With both hands essentially built for handling the blasters, this is not a direct fit, but there is sufficient grip in the folded four fingers to have the hologram emitter in place - albeit with Cody’s trigger finger sticking out.  Commander Cody sports 21 points of pinless articulation, with an array of posing options open to collectors outside of that Order 66 position. Cody can kneel, or sit if you provide a seated option, as well as being able to raise his arms and weapon up to his eye line for precision shooting positions with those larger pauldrons hinged onto the torso to move up with the arms. All of Cody’s joints are tight and secure and he stands securely once positioned. The Revenge of the Sith anniversary releases of Clone Commander Cody provides collectors with a significant upgrade to the existing figure with enhanced visuals and articulation through the newer body and articulation. The unmasked helmet and unmasked head is a nice touch and reflective of the briefing scenes on Utapau, but the execution of Cody as an individual is lazy with the usual flat-painted Clone application seen on regular troopers and no attempt to replicate his scar. Accessories are fine, and while we have lost a blaster compared to the earlier releases, the addition of the Palpatine 'Order 66' hologram is a more than adequate trade-off and gives us an iconic piece of Star Wars history we can now display within our collections.  Packaged collectors and those focused on anniversary packaging will also be pleased with the design of the new packaging and once Cody is joined by the other releases, it will be an impressive display with particular meaning tothose who grew up with the prequel figures and have now migrated to the larger Black Series in the same way the Original Trilogy Anniversary carded figures evoked memories for those of us who were kids in the 70s and 80s.
