Mezco have opened pre-orders for their new One:12 Collective DC release of Joker from Batman: The Animated Series. The 6-inch figure will come with a tailored soft goods suit, four head options, multiple hand options, and a variety of accessories. These include playing cards, fish, bomb with effects fuse, knife, dynamite, walking stick, Joker watch, poison, and Joker grenades. The release will also come with the usual display stand and post. The figure is due to ship at some stage between December 2025 and February 2026. It is a general release, available at all Mezco stockists. Gotham’s most notorious trickster returns to bring more mischief and mayhem to the One:12 Collective! After an extended wait, McFarlane has announced the next figures in their Warhammer 40k figure series. There are five new releases on the way, including two Artist Proof unpainted variants. The Ultramarines are being bolstered by the release of a Phobos Armour Lieutenant complete with a Bolt Gun, Bolter and Knife as well as a Backpack. There is also an unpainted Phobos Armour release for those who want to paint their own chapter Lieutenant. Up next is a Blood Angels Assault Intercessor Sergeant complete with Power Sword, Power Fist, extra hands, and both helmeted and unmasked heads. There is also an accompanying unpainted Artist Proof. The final figure is a Gold Label Exclusive and see's the debut of the Imperial Fists into the line with a new Intercessor Sergeant including Power Fist, Plasma Pistol, alternative hand, and two head options. This one is a Gamestop US Exclusive but should get a broader release outside of the US at McFarlane stockists. Pre-orders on all the figures went live on the 16th July 2025 and all five figures are due for release in early August 2025. “I will create an army that will bring order to the galaxy." The original Moff Gideon figure was released back in 2021 after his appearance in Season 1 and into Season 2 of The Mandalorian. This figure presents Gideon in his Imperial Combat Gear, complete with cape and the Darksaber. Gideon underwent a significant upgrade for Season 3 thanks to his Dark Trooper Armour, and it is that appearance that inspires his 2025 Star Wars Black Series release as part of Wave 21 of the Galaxy Collection. Moff Gideon is number 44 in the Mandalorian Galaxy Collection series, with the black mat box utilising the deep orange colour assigned to figures from The Mandalorian on both key text elements and the side artwork. The artwork, showing a helmeted Gideon brandishing a Force Pike, directly connects to the art for the Praetorian Guard from the same wave in the wider montage. This artwork is repeated on the back of the box along with a synopsis of Moff Gideon’s intentions for Season 3 of The Mandalorian and his prototype Dark Troopers. The card back, sat behind the figure in the tray, also features the same dark orange colouring and within this an embedded image of the landscape of Mandalore.  In hand, the figure is entirely new in its design, while being constructed in a similar method to that of other modern Black Series armoured Troopers. The armour panels are cast in a high-gloss black and connected by way of a ribbed undersuit in a slightly less gloss, but certainly not matt, black finish. Unlike Clones and Stormtroopers, the chest piece for Gideon, while looking solid, is extremely pliable. Decor applications are minimal with a simple silver panel in the centre of the Mandalorian Armour-inspired chest plate and a red-trimmed belt with gunmetal silver buckle.  A touch more red can be found on the shoulder straps of the upper armour, where a soft goods cape connects into the body. This time round, the cape moves from sculpted plastic to soft goods, and a similar style and fabric to that used on some of the Inquisitors from the Kenboi series. The cape is black on the outer face, but red trimmed inside. Unlike its predecessor, it hangs very flat with no character in terms of folds or creasing. The cape is held in check, and therefore non-removable, by way of a gloss black jetpack. This is detailed enough but completely lacking in any wider decor on the component parts. The headsculpt is new and an improved likeness both in sculpt and facial printing to actor Giancarlo Esposito. The facial hair is gone, as it was in Season 3, and the expression given to the figure is certainly in keeping with Gideon’s nonchalant ‘you are beneath me' look he often sports. The hair is cropped short and on a receding hairline, sculpted into the head and with both a darker base colour and overlaid lighter drybrushing to add the appropriate ‘aged’ look.  The secondary look for Gideon is to use the included Dark Trooper Armour helmet. This is a very soft and squishy piece in a similar high-gloss black finish. Despite the movement in the plastic, it holds shape reasonably well, including the head spikes. The visor is painted a pearlescent pink, while the cheek segments are picked out in red markings. The fit over the head is ok, but not as snug as other helmeted figures. There is also a sizing issue so that even at its lowest point on the head, you can still see Gideon’s chin at the base of the faceplate unless you angle the head looking fully downwards.  Gideon is furnished with three separate accessories, starting with a basic hold-out blaster in darker grey plastic that is carried forward from the original release. This small weapon includes a sculpted sight that sits above the main barrel of the weapon while holding its shape really well. It fits most naturally in Gideo’s right hand, but the left hand also features a trigger finger, with a slightly tighter grip. When not in use, there is a working holster on the belt with a flexible strap that comes down and plugs into place intending to hold the blaster in situ, although in reality it sits too far to one side and the blaster can be slid out around the strap. Gideon then features two versions of his electrostaff, starting with the compact collapsed version, which is a simplistic piece in grey plastic with a central black grip section. This can then be swapped out for the full extended electrostaff featuring similar colouring by way of a base grey plastic with the central section made up of a black centre grip, and two segments of a darker grey silver. The base end of the staff features the ridged black end cap, which can also be seen on the smaller version, while the emitter end includes three varying length prongs coming out of another black circlet. The weapon also features a translucent pink plastic effect that wraps around the emitter. This is the same as the one used on the Magna Guards, and while it does clip into place, the grip is limited,d and it has a tendency to slip off or to the side.  The weaponry is supported by 17 points of pinless articulation. Gideon does not feature any thigh swivel, relying solely on rotation in the hips and at the knee to orientate the legs. The ankle rockers are robust but the ratchets quite extensively spaced making it more difficult to get the feet flat to the ground. The upper body articulation includes a single torso ball joint and a dual joint neck. The arms come with both ball and butterfly shoulders, which works well for the extended electrostaff posing, with a flexible shoulder pauldron moving when the arm is raised. Further down sits a single joint elbow and a wrist joint. I found the wrist joints extremely irritating with Hasbro moving away from the usual peg and pivot, to a ball joint design which allows rotation but little else and any attempt to bend the wrist will simply see the ball joint pop out of the socket. This does impede some of the more extensive poses with the electrostaff and in some instances in blaster firing poses. Moff Gideon in Dark Trooper Armour had the potential to be a very impressive figure, particularly if Hasbro built it on some of the key armoured principles they’ve developed over the years and provided they learned from certain mistakes. Sadly, the final product has a number of irritating flaws from the very gummy plastic of the helmet and chest section, to the visible chin when the helmet is worn. The constant flip/flop between soft goods and sculpted is back to soft goods in this wave after talking so much about using the softer plastic for more visible accuracy on recent releases like Luke & Leia from A New Hope. The cape on Gideon sits flat, has no dynamism in any position, and floats unnaturally above the shoulders due to the way it is fixed. There are good points too with an impressive head sculpt, and the choice of three weapon options, including a collapsed electrostaff which could have easily been omitted.  This new Gideon will certainly balance out the Mandalorian Season 3 figures, which have been heavily leaning towards the Mandalorian faction so far, and alongside the Praetorian Guard and the previously released Imperial Commando, the Imperial Remnant still looks the part on display. The next Music Maniacs release from McFarlane is revealed as Rob Halford, lead singer of Judas Priest. The articulated 6-inch figure will come with a stand and a microphone. A collector card and certificate of authenticity is also included, with the set limited to 4,300 units. The figure will come on a blister card and is an August 2025 release Rob Halford, the "Metal God," is the legendary frontman of Judas Priest, one of heavy metal's most influential bands. Since joining in 1973, his powerful voice and iconic style helped define the genre. Judas Priest, formed in 1969, gained fame with albums like British Steel and Painkiller. Halford briefly left in the '90s but returned in 2003, solidifying his place in metal history. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. McFarlane's new Movie Maniacs release of Dwight from the US version of The Office is now open for pre-ordering ahead of an August 2025 release. Like the other Movie Maniacs releases from McFarlane the figure is a limited edition release, with Dwight limited to 4,850 units. "We already received your request…three Praetorian Guards. Sounds like someone is concerned about an assassination attempt." The armoured Praetorian Guards were first seen in the Sequel Trilogy, acting as guards for Supreme Leader Snoke. They were the natural successors to the original red-robed Imperial Royal Guards who protected Vader and Palpatine, and in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, we perhaps saw a missing link in that evolution by the introduction of the Imperial Praetorian Guards.  These red-armoured Imperial elite warriors made their action figure debut in Wave 21 of the Star Wars Black Series in 2025, released alongside their commander, Moff Gideon, as well as figures from Andor and Ahsoka. As a release from The Mandalorian, the black box is highlighted in a deep orange colour for selected text and the side artwork. The Praetorian is number 43 in the Galaxy Collection, and that side artwork connects between the Imperial Armoured Commando and Moff Gideon in Dark Trooper Armour.  The rear of the box talks a little about the role of the Praetorian Guard and their deployment by the Imperial Shadow Council. The figure itself is presented against a coordinated deep orange cardback that also incorporates shadowy scenery from the hidden complex on Mandalore.  The Praetorian does borrow heavily from the original First Order Praetorian releases from 2017, including a direct re-use of the lower legs and knee joint. The torso may be the same as the First Order versions, but a new Imperial-inspired chest piece has been added over a mid-section that has similarities to that of a stormtrooper. The arms feature segmented armour down the shoulders and biceps with full wrist bracers and armour across the back of the Guard’s hands. Each of the armoured panels is cast in high red gloss with no paint decor apart from colour matching over the base plastic where needed. This base plastic is a deep burgundy, with a cloth sculpt to represent the suit worn under the armour.  The original Praetorian varied between soft goods skirts and sculpted skirts, with the usual pros and cons between the two finishes. The Imperial Praetorian goes with a soft goods option made up of a rear skirt and a front panel held in place by a sculpted belt. Additional layers are then created by a half cape that comes out of the chest armour at the rear and flows to a similar length as the skirt. The fabric used is delicate and with a good colour match to the cast red armour, but like all soft goods at this scale, it lacks any definition and hangs very flat and very sterile, even considering the fluid movements of the Praetorian in combat. The helmet has a Mandalorian feel to it, cast in red with a T-visor painted in black. It is soft in the plastic but is not a hollow helmet; it's just that the design has left a large void under the base of the bell-shaped helmet, giving it space to incorporate the neck of the figure.  Our Praetorian is essentially an army-builder release, coming with two different weapons, allowing you to display the figure as two of the three seen in The Mandalorian Season 3. The first of these is a vibro blade cast in grey with a glossier silver blade at one end. It is a two handed piece, with both hands gripping the piece securely and providing a number of offensive of guarding options.  The second weapon is the segmented sword, which is created in its flexible, whip-like configuration. It starts with a black cast grip and segmented silver sections with a hint of the pink electro components painted into the recess of the silver section. This is a single-handed weapon, and can be held in either hand with a secure grip. The weapon has a degree of flexibility in its length, but cannot convert back to the fixed blade configuration.  The third weapon wielded in the battles with Paz Vizsla and Mando is not included and therefore presents a gap for anyone wanting to assemble all three Praetorian Guards for display. The weapons have also not gone heavy in the effects department, and save the subtle pink colouring on the sword-whip, the bright purple electro effects seen on screen are not replicated in the way we have seen done recently, as either paint work (Commando Droid) or effect pieces (Magna Guard). Articulation is a mix of old and new, with the legs actually featuring pins thanks to their 2017 origins, but Hasbro has created a new upper leg and discarded the thigh swivel, leaving zero rotation in the legs. There is a benefit to the older joints as the knees are extensive in how far they can bend coming with dual joints rather than the more modern single joint. The legs also carry over the loose ankles of the First Order figures; there is free movement in the sides of the ankle rockers, allowing the figure to slip off to the side with no real effort, although the forward motion does feel more secure and with more robust ratchets.  The upper torso incorporates a ball joint under the softer plastic chest section, while the neck reverts to a single joint. Arms include butterfly shoulders, enhancing the movement for the melee weapons included, supported by single-joint elbows, and a side pivot wrist. In total, we have 16 points of articulation. The Imperial Praetorian Guard is certainly an enhanced version of the original First Order versions with a more expandisve range of movement in the upper arms and torso than those 2017 figures. The lower legs are a step backwards, mainly by reusing some of the original pinned legs, but not all, creating a definite gap by having no way of rotating either leg from a front-facing position. The Guard also struggles a little with weakness at the ankles, but not quite as bad as the older figures.  The overall look is comparable to the red high gloss we see on screen, and the soft goods work reasonably well while not sacrificing the articulation of a very agile Elite warrior. By using multiple layers, these soft goods panels work better than a single skirt or cape, but do still lack character. By including two weapons, Hasbro are inviting us to buy more than one of these - had they bunged in the third Praetorian accessory, we might have been tempted to buy three. A figure with some niggles, but overall a strong addition to the ranks of the Remnant Imperials and providing a bit more balance for Season 3 displays, which have been heavily weighted to the Mandalorians so far.
