Diamond Select have revealed the promotional images of their upcoming Marvel Select Spider-Gwen. Spider-Gwen is scheduled for release in November 2017. She will come with two head options. One will be masked with her hood up, the other will be unmasked with the hood down. There will also be alternative hand options. And the whole figure will come with a sculpted diorama base which is made to look like urban rubble, and complete with a destroyed robot. UK RRP will be around £22. Mary Jane's drummer and protector of New York City, Gwen Stacy joins the Marvel Select action figure line! Standing approximately 6 3/4-inches, Spider-Gwen comes with interchangeable raised and lowered hoods, various interchangeable hands, and a sculpted diorama base depicting a fallen robot! NECA have teased this image of a 7" scale Predator weapon for #Prednesday. The common consensus on Twitter amongst fans is that NECA are working on a release of Machiko. Machiko is another Dark Horse character, but of course uniquely she is a human who is accepted and "blooded" to the Predator clan and given Predator armour and weaponry From AVP Wikia Machiko Noguchi known as Da'dtou-di ("small knife") by the Yautja, was a Chigusa Corporation employee and the administrator in charge of the Prosperity Wells colony on Ryushi. She was the daughter of Akira and Keiko Noguchi. Machiko had only recently taken up her position on Ryushi when it was subjected to a devastating assault by a group of Yautja and the Xenomorphs they had unleashed on the planet. The incident led to the destruction of the colony and the death of several of its inhabitants. Machiko survived the incident, in the process earning the respect of the Yautja known as "Broken Tusk", to the point where she was Blooded by him and went on to join his clan.

After teasing various components, we now know the full contents of the upcoming 7" scale NECA Aliens Accessory Pack. Your USMC troops will be bolstered with two sentry guns (from the extended version), as well as two opening laptops allowing them to monitor the guns as well as check out blue-prints of the base. You can now chop and change armaments on your figures - with a Flae Thrower and a Pulse Rifle, and both of these come with firing effects. The pack is made up with Hick's favourite - the Shotgun - as well as a pistol knife, ammo bag, helmet and flashlight. The helmet in particular gets us one stage closer to that SDCC Newt. The set will be presented in a window box along the same design lines as the Creature Pack. Considering the content we expect the UK RRP to be around £25. It is due to ship in September. It seems the European wave of Marvel Cinematic Universe Marvel Legends, complete with Hulkbuster Build-a-Figure, is now showing up in TK Maxx stores. The wave, packed exclusively for the European Market, is made up of 7 MCU figures and buying the full wave will allow you to build the huge Hulkbuster figure. And not only that, the Hulkbuster is presented in more desireable darker red gloss plastic than the original worldwide release. The figures are £12.99 each in TK Maxx, but don't expect to find the full set. The business model for TK Maxx is to split the cases and send in individual figures to stores. That means you will need to do some hunting. Don't forget to also try Homesense stores - which are part of the same group.

While many Action Figure companies are moving to window box packaging, Boss Fight Studio's are going old school on their new Bucky O'Hare figures and presenting them on these beautiful retro comic strip cards. These new images also reveal some other figures in the works - it seems the first two figure sculpts of Bucky and Jenny will be re-used for Astral Projection Jenny and Stealth Mission Bucky. Dead Eye Duck will be a new addition for the good guys, and the Storm Toad Trooper will be the first addition for the Toad Menace. Pre-orders for the first figures start 1st June at Boss Fight Shop

It looks like the Marvel Legends "Evolution of Groot" exclusive will be making it's way across the pond to UK stores. The set, which has been exclusive to US Toys R Us stores, has now been listed on the UK Toys R Us website at £24.99 The set contains the adult Groot, as seen in the original Guardians movie. This was a Build-a-Figure back in 2014, this time he is the main releaase figure but has been given an amended "smiling" head sculpt. As Groot is nearly 9 inches tall, he is packed without his lower legs which are separate in the pack for assembly once you've opened the figure. The other two figures look to be static pack-ins (almost accessories). These are the baby Groot we see in a plant pot at the end of Guardians Vol. 1 and the other is the Baby Groot that stole the show in the 2nd movie (my opinion anyway). The item is out of stock for home delivery, and after checking a few postcode options I can't find anything in stock for click & collect. What you can do is sign up for notifications when the item is in stock - but based on prior experience this hasn't always been reliable. McFarlane have confirmed another Spawn figure will be joining the Color Top range of 7" figures later this year. #36 in the range will be Commando Spawn - released to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Spawn. Commando Spawn will come with assault rifle, pistol and sniper rifle. He will sport the limited 12 points of articulation that is standard for the Color Tops. The figure is due for release in October 2017 and will have a US RRP of $19.99. that will work out between £17 - £20 here in the UK. NECA have also got big (literally) plans for Spider-Man and Wonder-Woman. And if that wasn't enough they have an innovative new product planned for displaying your figures. Marvel Legend news has been pouring out too, but from the wrong sources (eBay) with new images of exclusive figures and what could be this years SDCC set. These were originating in China, but unlike a lot of bootlegs these were pretty nicely sculpted and articulated. The majority were also in scale (or near enough) to the 7" Marvel Select figures from Diamond. While I do not condone fake copies of existing figures, these bootlegs are not a direct copy of a released figure. They also represent characters not available in the 7" scale. One of these that I was really keen to add to my Civil War display was the sleeker version of Falcon in his black and red flight suit. The bootleg figure is about the shortest of the set and is closer to Marvel Legends 6" scale in hand. To make him taller I took him apart and swapped out the lower abdomen and waist section with the same piece from the bootleg Ant-Man. The two share very similar features and details, but the Ant-Man piece is larger and increases Falcon's height. I also took the hands from Ant-Man and the two side pouches from the belt and moved these over to Falcon. The other part of the recipe was the head from the original Winter Soldier Falcon from Diamond. With the parts assembled the whole body requires a repaint. You can see the paint list above, but in the main black and anthracite grey were used to base coat the costume. Red trim was added on the shoulders and chest and then silver to the buckles and wrists. Once painted the figure was re-assembled. The Diamond head needed no repainting and just needed the socket widening to then fit onto the ball of the bootleg torso - retaining full articulation. The wings themselves are not much smaller than the original Winter Soldier versions. These simply needed the red panels darkening using a purple red colour and then varnishing this with a semi-gloss coat. The rest of the wings were drybrushed in silver. I really wanted the Falcon to be able to be posed in a flight pose and took a leaf from the recent Diamond Star Lord figure. I drilled a hole in the rear of the torso, matching it to a plug that was on the 1/6 doll stand that I purchased on eBay. This means that instead of relying on a clasp - the arm of the stand plugs directly into the figure and holds him in a flight pose. Size wise we are pushing the boundaries here on the proportions of the head vs the body. He does size well enough with the other Select figures and once in flight it is less noticeable. Adding Falcon to the official Cap and Bucky and my custom Hawkeye really bolsters Team Cap for my Civil War display.

NECA's Quarter Scale line gives you 18" scaled characters with excellent detailing at a shade over £100. One of their main stays recently has been 1/4 scale DC figures - with the likes of their Keaton Batman, Penguin and Cat Woman. Now the 1/4 scale DC focus switches to 2017 releases, and this lovely looking Wonder Woman figure. She will be delivered complete with her sword, shield and of course the lasso of truth. She will ship around November and the UK RRP is likely to be around the £90 - £100 mark. "First look! Q scale wonder woman headed your way later this year. Prototype shown, not final." Includes sword, shield and lasso accessories, and alternate sets of interchangeable hands!
