- Star Wars Black Series Captain Rex - packaging and UK availability with Forbidden Planet
The upcoming Hascon exclusive Captain Rex has been fully revealed along with the Hascon packaging, which I must admit is a thing of beauty. The packaging follows the theme started in 2015 with the First Order Stormtrooper and was then repeated in 2016 with the Jyn Erso figure. The Rex packaging is a deep electric blue with black artwork and white Star Wars Black Series logo. The outer sleeve then slides off to reveal a black inner tray with blue backdrops into which sits Rex and his accessories. Rex is reportedly coming with additional accessories for Hascon. In the box image we can see his dual blasters and then the standard clone issue blaster and blaster-rifle that has been packed with all clone releases. The best news for UK customers was that Forbidden Planet will be selling the Rex figure at their stand at MCM London Comic Con in October (27th to 29th). The figure will then be on sale via it's stores and website after the UK convention. "Forbidden Planet are thrilled to announce that they will be retailing the Hasbro Convention Exclusive figure of Captain Rex from the Star Wars: Black Series range at MCM Comicon running 27th to 29th October at London's Excel Centre." Pricing has not been confirmed as yet. Considering the packaging and exclusivity we would estimate somewhere between £29.99 and £34.99 for Rex. Keep an eye on the Forbidden Planet blog for more details, or sign up to their newsletter emails. This Star Wars The Black Series pack, featuring one 6-inch-scale Captain Rex figure and 5 accessories is designed for ultimate collectability and display. Featuring authentic, true-to-story detail across multiple points of articulation, the Star Wars The Black Series Captain Rex figure and accessories pay tribute to the iconic leader of 501st division, serving the Republic under the command of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars."
- Star Wars Black Series, packaged shots of Thrawn and Landspeeder
A number of new eBay listings from Canada have all that confirmed that Thrawn, seen in full phase 3 packaging, will be released imminently as part of Force Friday. This potentially rounds up the first wave along with Vader and the four Last Jedi figures that were leaked previously (click here, but beware spoilers). Also revealed is the Black Series standard packaging for the Landspeeder and Luke. It follows a similar theme to the Force Awakens Tie Fighter. The vehicle itself is not shown, but the figure sits in a window on the right of the packaging. Pre-orders should be going up on this across the UK including at our partners Kapow.

- Darth Vader gets promised Black Series Phase 3 repack
Hasbro had promised us that the 40th Anniversary Darth Vader would be released in standard packaging, and here is proof that this is happening. The new Darth Vader sculpt will be added to the phase 3 red/black packaging and all indicators are that Lord Vader will be part of the Force Friday releases on 1st September. He will come packed with his light saber. Unlike the previous release, the helmet is not removable. That means we've had five figures confirmed so far - but beware spoilers if you want to see the other four here

- Beware Spoilers. New Last Jedi 3.75" Playset and Plush Toy
Amazon Spain continue to list Last Jedi items for pre-order in advance of Force Friday on 1st September. Of interest to 3.75" collectors will be this large BB8 playset, which opens out to a 3.75" environment of Snoke's flagship. The set is compatible with Force Link and also has sound and lights effects. There is also two figures packed with the set. A Praetorian Guard, which we are also getting in a 2-pack with Rey. There is also the first figure of Supreme Leader Snoke in his lovely golden robes. The set is priced on the Amazon site at €203, that is £185 or $239 on a direct conversion - while the UK price is probably accurate, we'd expect the US price to come in cheaper. And if you love the Porgs, why not get hold of a Porg of your very own. This plush Porg has sound effects that play when you press the Porg's tummy. Although the size is not clear on the pack, it seems to be about 20cm high - that is about 8". The retail on this in Spain is €53 - converting this works out at £48 / $62

- Spoiler Alert. Star Wars Last Jedi Black Series Figures revealed
The Spanish Amazon website has listed four of the new Last Jedi Black Series figures, including packaged and loose promotional images. The most interesting element of this leak is that we now know that the packaging will not be updated for the Last Jedi, the Phase 3 black and red livery will continue as will the numbering system - there will be no reset. The four figures revealed are likely to be the first wave as available on Force Friday, they may be packed out with other figures from the Saga - Hera is likely, as is the standard boxed release of Vader (40th Anniversary). Luke and Rey appear to be identical to their SDCC two-pack, which is great for loose collectors who don't now need to chase down this set and pay a premium. Kylo Ren has been seen before via leaked images, he will come unmasked with a new cloak that is a similar design to the plastic overshoulder version used on Director Krennic. The biggest reveal (and spoiler) is Finn who is coming in a First Order Officer disguise - complete with stun batton. This is obviously a key plot point which we will find out about come December...
