NECA will be bringing us a 5.5" Crash Bandicoot action figure in May 2018, and we have now got our first look at Crash in his entirety. The figure is fully articulated, including (and I think this is a first) ball jointed eye-brows! The packaging choice will be a clamshell blister. As per usual with their amazing attention to detail, NECA are even including a cardstock replica of a crate in the packaging to display him with. NECA’s debut release in the eagerly anticipated line of Crash Bandicoot action figures is Crash as you know and love him! This core figure stands 5.5 inches tall and features a head sculpt unique to this release. Crash has plenty of articulation for maximum wumps, but just as importantly, he’s outfitted with ball-jointed eyebrows to create a variety of crazy expressions. As a bonus, tucked inside the clamshell packaging is a thick cardstock replica of a crate!

Walmart is getting a Thanos exclusive Marvel Legend figure. This is a repaint / tweak of the recent comic book build-a-figure. It comes with alternative head and a swap out arm so he can wear his infinity gauntlet. The figure was briefly listed on the Walmart website, but has since been pretty much removed with a very odd "Minecraft Avengers Thanos" placeholder left behind - is there a crossover in the works we don't know about. The figure will retail around $20 in the US. Whether it will make it across to UK Asda stores is not clear, they did get the Civil War exclusives of Falcon and Winter Soldier in 2016, but these really didn't sell well and 6" Legends have not been seen since on an Asda shelf?

NECA have delighted fans with the announcements that they will be re-releasing three of their most popular items from recent years. In their video game series, we are getting re-releases of Dr Gordon Freeman from Halflife 2, complete with headcrab. And from Portal, the lead character Chell. Both figures will be repacked in window box packaging, differentiateing them from the first releaes in blister packs. They will both ship in May 2018 and will around the £25 mark - much better than the recent eBay prices Don't let the horn-rimmed glasses fool you: Dr. Gordon Freeman might be a geek but he's also the savior of humanity. This action figure from the #HalfLife2 video game brings the heroic scientist to life in amazing detail! With over 20 points of articulation, this deluxe 7" scale figure is ready to strike amazing poses. Gordon comes with everything you need to free civilization from alien rule: two sets of interchangeable hands, gravity gun (ZPEFM if you must), crowbar and bug bomb accessories, plus a headcrab figure. Back by popular demand! From Valve’s award-winning #Portal2 video game, protagonist Chell is depicted in her orange Aperture Laboratories jumpsuit, and stands approximately 7” tall. Chell features over 20 points of articulation to navigate any variety of test chamber scenarios. For science. She comes with an ASHPD accessory that lights up and glows blue just like in the game. Display base and button cell batteries included. Also down for a re-release is the Spider Gremlin, the deluxe release from 2013. This monster figure will feature well over 30 points of articulation and stands 10" tall and nearly 15" wide. The re-release is due in May 2018. This incredible re-creation of the Spider Gremlin puppet seen in #Gremlins2: The New Batch features over 30 points of articulation, including the eight massive spider legs that are articulated in three places each. When fully assembled, the Spider Gremlin stands over 10" tall, nearly 15" across and over 12" deep! The figure also includes a support stand to help balance and display it in your desired poses. A true must-have centerpiece for any Gremlins collection.

So we finally have a Solo trailer, and I for one am feeling a good vibe from what I have seen so far. The movie feels very much like Rogue One, showing the dirty seedier side of the Star Wars galaxy, while keeping a nostalgic feel with visuals we recognise from the Original Trilogy. Having had a first look at the movie, albeit under 2 minutes worth, we can start to potential speculate a little about the action figures we are likely to see. Thanks to information passed to us in late 2017 we know that at least five 6" figures are coming between April and August (TBC). These are currently under code names, but we can now safely assume that Zeus is Han Solo, Hermes is Lando and the Vesta Guard is The Imperial Range Trooper. We can also have a stab that either Artemis or Athena Grey is probably Emilia Clarke's character, Qui-Ra. Which ever one that then leaves is potentially another female character, such as Thandie Newton's "trigger happy" Val? I would like to think more figures are in the pipeline, but heavily under-wraps until the movie lands. One of the smaller speeders we see in the trailer would be a good premium purchase release. I suspect we will see a new Chewbacca with that variant bandoleer, a Kessel Guard and possibly a Woody Harrelson figure perhaps in a 3rd wave in the same way we saw DJ released for the Last Jedi. More should become clear at Toy Fair, and if not there isn't too long to wait until May.... let us know what you think we may see from Hasbro in the 6" Black Series

Diamond Select have revealed images of their 6th wave of Ghostbusters Select figures in packaging. This 6th series moves from the original Ghostbusters movie to it's sequel and will include figures of Ray Stanz, Louis Tully in his Ghostbusters Uniform and everyone's favourite Carpathian, Vigo! Mezco One:12 have announced their next 1/12 scale Marvel Cinematic Universe releases as Black Panther from the upcoming Marvel movie. Black Panther will come with both a masked and unmasked head, with the latter carrying an exceptional likeness to Chadwick Boseman. You also get eight hand options as well as a shield and spear. The usual display base is also included. Black Panther can be ordered now from Mezco in the US with a non-refundable deposit of $20 payable. The full figure will set you back $80 and isn't due until August at the earliest, and more likely Sept/October. UK cost is likely to translate to around £75 when the UK retailers open their pre-orders. Direct from the eagerly anticipated and groundbreaking feature film, Mezco welcomes Black Panther into the One:12 Collective. Intricately designed with a cloth outfit recreating that of King T’Challa’s Vibranium suit, authentically detailed accessories replicating those seen in the movie, and the likeness of actor Chadwick Boseman. The One:12 Collective Black Panther figure boasts two comprehensively detailed head portraits: one masked and one unmasked, featuring the likeness of actor Chadwick Boseman. Special attention was paid when designing King T’Challa’s suit made from Vibranium, a rare metal that is lightweight, sleek, and bulletproof. In addition, Black Panther comes equipped with a meticulously crafted shield and spear, replicating similar weapons seen in the film. Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to Wakanda. Images have been circulated online of a quantity of new products from Hasbro for the upcoming Solo (A Star Wars Story) movie. Please be advised these images contain spoilers! Details are not overly clear, but the 3.75" basic line seems to be getting a new Millenium Falcon and Tie Fighter for the movie. There is also a speeder and speeder bike of some description. The Forcelink will move to 2.0 and looks to be a bulkier unit, now in a cream colour. It is interesting to see a mockup of a building on this first image - reminiscent to Jabba's palace on Tatooine 3.75" figures on show are a Lando in yellow shirt and scarf and a Kessel Guard - this 2-pack also comes with a tripod cannon of some description. The 12" line gives us a clearer look at Lando's get up as well as the Kessel Guard. We also see Han Solo in brown leather effect jacket and Kira. The Imperial Range Trooper is also shown as well as what I think is a repack of Chewie in the Solo packaging - which is predominantly yellow but is not carrying the "Solo" logo. Other items include Monopoly, Operation, Play Doh and new items for the Galactic Hero line including a new Falcon playset and an AT-ST (not necessarily meaning this appears in the movie).

With the New York event just 2-weeks away we are starting to see some pre-show announcements and teases particularly from Mezco who have a very interesting teaser image circulating with new figures being announced as we build up to NY the first of which to be announced is a new Spider-Man in the Homecoming home-made suit. Marvel features heavily this issue, particularly from Hasbro who have officially confirmed new product for Deadpool, Venom and Ant-Man & The Wasp. They've also had some leaks over in Australia with some product for Infinity War hitting shelves very very early - beware some mild spoilers on the last page. NECA are always quiet running up to an event, so only one reveal from them in terms of their 1/4 Turtle range. 2018 will see the first of Sony's Spiderverse movies when Tom Hardy brings Venom to the big screen. It seems Hasbro have plans for a Marvel Legend wave in conjunction with the movie release which arrives in October. The first two figures are comic book interpretations of Venom and Carnage and these do reuse parts from other figures. It is has been denied that there will be any movie based figures within the wave. There also looks to be some basic 5 1/2" figure releases at the same time, with this two pack of Venom and Carnage. Carnage is a direct re-release of the pretty poor looking version from the Spider-Man animated series. For the 12" Hero line, we will also get figures of Venom and Carnage.

Images are circulating across the social channels of the next full wave of Marvel Legends 6" figures, the Avengers Infinity War wave. These are coming in from collector's in Australia. We knew that the wave was coming and that it would include comic book figures of Songbird, King Cobra and Taskmaster. The other four figures are movie figures from Infinity War, and while these characters have been shown on the trailer, please step away now if you are trying to avoid all spoilers. We had also speculated that the large MCU Thanos we got a glimpse of at SDCC 2017 would be the BAF - this is now confirmed. We had also speculated the initial figures would be based on the most prolific characters on the movie. This has turned out to be accurate with the four figures being made up of Captain America (complete with beard), Iron-Man and Spider-Man. The Spider-Man is interesting purely as the name is specifically Iron-Spider, confirming the suit we saw in the trailer is the Iron-Spider suit. The fourth figure gives Thanos a little muscle as being one member of the Black Order, Promima Midnight. We would hope there are more Legends figures due for Infinity war with such a quantity of characters to cover. A new Dr Strange will be welcome using the new face printing, as would updates for Widow, Hawkeye etc. We are also of course still awaiting an MCU Vision? More details, including potential exclusives and 2-packs, will no doubt be confirmed at New York Toy Fair.

Hasbro's basic range of Black Panther figures and role play items have hit Toys R Us stores in the UK. The 5.5 inch basic articulation figures seem to be selling pretty quickly at £10.99 each with no Erik Killmonger or Shuri on the shelf at the Toys R Us I attended. Also available was the 12" basic hero figure at £12.99 and the role play item, starting at £12.99 for the "Slash Claw" There were no Marvel Legends for Black Panther, with the latest wave still being Thor Ragnarok. Toys R Us have started to reduce earlier waves with the Odin BAF wave down to £9.96 and some even older Spider-Man Goblin wave figures under a fiver.

McFarlane's 2nd wave of 7" scale Destiny figures are due in Spring 2018. The team at McFarlane have now announced a further 2018 release, with Iron Banner Warlock arriving in Autumn. The figure, revealed via the McFarlane website, will come with the Requiem Shotgun the Mida Mini-Tool and a Last City Shell. Today, we’re celebrating the Destiny Iron Banner release with a REVEAL of our Iron Banner Warlock. He’s equipped with the Calus’s Selected raid shader and will be hitting stores this Fall!
