  • McFarlane Doom Slayer at E3

While E3 is all about the big video game announcements, it seems McFarlane have also chosen the event to debut the first look at their upcoming Doom Slayer 7 inch action figure. All the images to date have been a digital render of the figure, but thanks to the E3 display we can now get a clearer look at what McFarlane have in store for us when the figure is released in September 2019 "From the video game Doom, The Doom Slayer (also known by the UAC as DM1-5, DOOM Marine or The Slayer, the Demons of Hell as the Doom Slayer, the Unchained Predator, the Hell Walker or to the fandom DOOM Guy) has been the main protagonist and playable character in franchise and in the upcoming Doom Eternal. His origin is intentionally vague, but he wears his iconic green Space Marine armor and slaughters through countless demons and monsters on a perpetual war against hell. This figure has been designed with Ultra articulation with 22 moving parts and arrives showcased in Doom themed window box packaging."

  • Mattel He-Man and Prince Adam 2-pack SDCC 2019 Exclusive

By the Power of Greyskull... Mattel have announced, via Nerdist, that they will be bringing an exclusive He-Man action figure set to San Diego Comic-Con 2019 as an exclusive. The set features figures of He-Man and Prince Adam sculpted in the vintage style of the original 1980's Master of the Universe line. Both figures include nods to the original concept art and Mattel mini-comics such as He-Man's knife accessory and Adam's vest. There are some modern additions though with swap out hands so that the figures can hold the various weapons included in the set. There are also alternative head options for both figures based on the original toys. The set will be boxed in special window packaging that folds out for display. There will be a pre-sale on the Mattel website come the 17th of June with the set shipping out after SDCC 2019. Stock will also be on sale at the Mattel booth at San Diego. "The Set includes one He-Man figure and one Prince Adam figure, both styled to look like the vintage versions of the characters. Prince Adam wears his removable blue vest, while He-Man has a removable knife accessory tucked into his boot, a detail that super fans will recognize from early concept art. The blue instead of pink vest for Adam might seem odd to fans of the classic animated series, but it’s what Adam wore in the original Mattel mini-comics back in the day. Sixteen points of modern hinge-and-ball joint articulation let fans pose and play with these figures like never before. He-Man comes with axe, shield, and Power Sword. And both figures have three sets of interchangeable hands for dynamic posing and interchangeable heads based on the sculpts of the original toys. Colors and decorations may vary."

  • Doctor Who B&M Exclusive Dalek & Doctor Big Finish 2-Packs, TARDIS sets and 3-Packs

Character Options have announced the lineup for this years B&M stores Doctor Who product. Up first are three Sonic Screwdrivers as seen in the 50th Anniversary. These will be for the Tenth, Eleventh and War Doctor and are electronic with lights and sounds. "Fans of the Doctor’s Sonic Screwdrivers will be able to get their hands on a heritage set of three popular incarnations.. The new blister-pack series will include electronic versions, inspired by the 50th anniversary episode, of the Tenth, Eleventh and War Doctor’s sonics." The exciting news is for the 5 inch action figure line with three new unique sets that pair a Doctor with a Dalek with each set inspired by the audiobooks from Big Finish! We will have a brane new Eighth Doctor and the Dalek Interrogator prime from the audio book Garden of Death. The other two sets will feature the Seventh and War Doctors. Details on these are not confirmed but we assume they will be repaints rather than brand new sculpts. The War Doctor is likely to be a simple repack, and perhaps a different Dalek colour scheme such as the one see in Engines of War - or a tweak to the Dalek Time Controller from Casualties of War. The Seventh Doctor pack is anyone's guess considering the volume of stories he has had in his Big Finish career. These Dalek 2-packs will be £19.99 each. "For action figure fans, Character Options presents a set of three unique Doctor & Dalek Twin Packs, inspired by the Doctor Who audio series from Big Finish. • Mattel SDCC 2019 "The Strange Lives of Batman" Exclusive 4 Pack

Mattel are exiting the DC licence with style with the announcement, via io9, of this San Diego Comic Con Exclusive for 2019. Before the licence moves to McFarlane in 2020, Mattel will help celebrate Batman's 80th Anniversary with this Silver Age Themed pack of 6 inch Multiverse Batman figures. Each Batman is based on an out-there costume sported in one of the Detective Comics. We have Negative Suit Batman from issue 284, Rainbow Batman from 241, Zebra Batman from 275 and a traditional Batman in blue and grey. The set will be sold at SDCC 2019 via the Mattel booth. A pre-order will also start on June 17th where you can place an order for the set for delivery after SDCC 2019 (we assume this is US only). "If you’re a fan of Mattel’s DC action figures, though, the other offering might be more tempting. A celebration of Batman’s Silver Age roots in the comics, the four-figure set gives you four remarkably silly renditions of Bruce Wayne’s early comic book adventures. Clad in a special, old-school comic art themed box—80-page Giant Batman is a great little throwback joke!—the four figures feature 23 points of articulation, and each one is clad in a colour scheme representing a specific story from the Silver Age of Comics."
