Hasbro released details of a number of new comic book Marvel Legends at NYCC, revealing them at a live stream event at the show - with the release of the full details shortly after. First is a new wave for The Fantastic Four. This brings us all four members in their black with blue trimmed suits. The figures include some re-use of the the recent Walgreens exclusives, but also new parts and looks - particularly The Human Torch. Joining the foursome will be She-Hulk and Doctor Doom. These were both announced at SDCC 2019 and will join the FF to create - at this stage - a 6 figure wave. We do not have any details about the BAF. The Fantastic Four wave will start to arrive in Spring 2020 Deadpool is getting a new wave in 2020 also, and includes the Merc with the Mouth in his blue and gold suit. Joining Wade are Sun-Spot and Warpath. This wave has a date of Autumn 2020 for shipping and has a few more figures to go to round out the full picture.

In 2017, as we headed towards Episode 8 The Last Jedi, one of the big Force Friday reveals was the new Black Series figure of the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke. The figure got a standard release as part of wave 14, but the more eye catching release was an exclusive set where Snoke came with his Throne. The set was a US exclusive for Gamestop stores, and while there was import stock available in the UK it soon sold through. And while US Stores were clearing this set off at silly money, it was still relatively difficult to get hold of in the UK. Packaging 4/5 The box for Snoke is a blown up version of the phase 3 packaging and carries a more sinister illustration of Snoke than the tame completive version we got on the single release. The figure is named as Supreme Leader Snoke with the Throne Room wording in brackets. The right hand spine remains bold red, but is without any numbering. The back has a much larger and clearer image of the front artwork and some background text for Snoke. This text is the same as the single release. "The shadowy commander of the First Order, Supreme Leader Snoke prefers to operate from a distance, looming over his underlings int he form of an immense hologram. As the First Order rallies, this master of the Dark Side emerges from the shadows to seize victory." The backing card is not the usual plain red and as we will see in a little while is decorated as a backdrop of the Throne room. Please note : We purchased an open version for our review so the inner contents were not quite as you would usually find them. The set usually has an inner tray that is sat into the cardboard insert. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 Snoke is identical to the single release. The head is a masterful sculpt considering the detail and damage of Snokes face. The paint is good, but perhaps a bit too pink and I would have liked to see some darker tones and more shadow in the final decor. The bod is hidden under the yellow gold robes which themselves are tailored and contain some glittering material of sorts. The robe hangs well enough and is tied to the body by means ot a belt segment. If you do venture under the robes, Snoke has a fully sculpted under body in a sort of pyjama type outfit. He even has gold slippers. The final key point of detail on the figure is the black ring on his left hand. This stands up and away from the fingers with the band painted either side - although not all the way underneath. The Throne itself arrives in two parts - the main throne and a front semi circular plinth. The plinth simply clips into the Throne to complete the piece. The Throne is enormous, a real centerpiece for a display. It is follow and cast in a glossy grey plastic. Paint application details the back of the seat and round the two enormous arm rests. A blue strip runs around the throne - which would have been awesome with a light up feature - and the sides of the throne carry a number of painted panels and lights. While no one will want to display the back of the Throne, it is worth mentioning and showing it is pretty ugly. The sculpt does carry on to include the back, but we then have numerous screw heads where the hole piece is assembled and held together. Accessories 2/5 The set is completely devoid of any accessories. It might have been nice to include Rey's lightsaber, but of course that comes with Rey anyway. What you do get is a first for the Black Series - connectivity with another release. The Throne clips into the base section that came with Kylo Ren to make a bigger Throne display. This base piece includes peg holes for posing Rey, Kylo Ren or any of the Praetorian Guards. The fit is good and the overall diorama is pretty impressive. If you wish you can also utilise the backing card piece to enhance your display. As we mentioned earlier the card is not a solid red and is in fact decorated as per the Throne Room from The Last Jedi. Articulation 4/5 Snoke, is very well articulated under those robes, as of course he needs to be to be seated naturally onto the Throne. The body underneath the robes has 16 points of articulation and thanks to the long slim limbs and the positioning of the joints, sitting down is not an issue. Head : ball joint pivot neck Body : waist swivel Arms : ball joint shoulder, single rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle rocker What is more of an issue when Snoke is sitting is covering up his legs and getting his robe to sit correctly. What is very impressive are the hands which can be articulated over the arms of the chair to sit hanging over the edge. While this figure will most likely spend his time sitting, he can stand well on his own with the ankle rockers and leg joints being tight and well adjusted to hold up his lanky frame. Summary This version of Snoke is no better or worse than the single release - it is identical in every way. It is a solid figure with good sculpt, adequate soft goods and decent articulation. The selling point of the set, for me anyway, is that Throne and how it forms a centrepiece for a Last Jedi display - particularly when combined with that Kylo Ren set. While not everyone is a fan of The Last Jedi, or Snoke, the set has appeal and looks great on display - especially when flanked with Red Praetorian Guards.. In the current market it is no overly difficult to obtain for sub £30 and at that price it is worthwhile - although a few other bells and whistles like light effects might have been nice. I score Supreme Leader Snoke and his Throne a 3 out of 5. Tamashii Nations have unveiled their very impressive SH Figuarts Worthy Captain America from Avengers Endgame over in New York. The figure comes with a broken shield and Mjolnir as well as a lightning effect piece. It looks brilliant, and knowing SH Figuarts will include a number of other options like swap out hands etc that are no pictured

February 2020 will see the release of the movie Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel. The movie is a super hero movie based on the character from Valiant comics. It is being made by Sony and the hope is to launch a Marvel-esque universe for Valiant comics including future team up movies. I have been aware of the McFarlane licence for this movie for some time, but have been unable to share any details. We can now see, thanks to Previews, the first figure from the Bloodshot movie - the titular character (Vin Diesel). Bloodshot is poses with the Doom figure at NYCC, confirming it as a 7 inch scale. He looks to come with a knife and a assault rifle of sorts. There is also a potential second firearm accessory in his holster.

The Diamond Select booth has a few new Select figures on display at NYCC 2019. Images have been shared by Preternia on Twitter, follow them for full NYCC coverage direct from the convention floor. Westworld Select figures will move to a 2nd Series. There are two figures on display, although we'd usually expect 3 in a Diamond case. The Man in Black is back, this time as a damaged version. And we get a new figure of Teddy Flood. These figures will be exclusive to Walgreens in the US and are a planned January 2020 release. John Wick is getting a 3rd Diamond Select figure. The Series 3 John Wick looks to be reusing parts from the Chapter 2 figure, but the torso is no jacketles. The same unnamed dog is included in the pack, as is a machine gun. We have a bit of a wait on this one as it is a Winter 2020 release.

Mezco reveal a brand new DC One:12 Collective figure of Mr Freeze at New York Comic Con. Freeze will be a Summer 2020 release with more details likely to follow before the end of the year. He looks awesome and we can't wait to see the promotional pictures and the line up of accessories. We have another 80th Anniversary Vintage Carded Marvel Legends reveal from Hasbro with this new Deadpool figure on retro style card. The figure is a repack with tweaked paint and has some new weapons. Like the Grey Hulk he looks to come with an outer box with its own artwork. Deadpool will be a European COnvention Exclusive to start with, arriving at MCM Comic Con London at the end of the month. He will then go to HasbroPulse from the 4th of November for US collectors. "Fans can celebrate the MARVEL UNIVERSE with this 6-inch X-FORCE DEADPOOL figure from the Marvel Legends Series. As teased, we can now get a better picture at a couple of the new figures revealed by NECA at NYCC 2019. In the 7 inch Turtle line we have a new Triceraton figure. This is displayed along with the videogame turtle figures like Slash And Toony Terrors will be joined by Nosferatu, and his rat.

Coming to the Tamashii Nations Movie Realization line of Star Wars reimagined action figures are Admiral Ackbar and IG-88. I remember the IG-88 from concept art back at Star Wars Celebration 2016 in London. Ackbar is a surprise. The head has been sculpted more of a helmet, with his forearms as bronze gauntlets. I love the use of the shite uniform and the rank insignia on the chest. He seems to have been armed like Shredder with two sets of wrist blades. Images shared by ActionFigurePics on Twitter

Bluefin have shared some images of their New York Comic Con display and within it are some new reveals. The DC Injustice Gods Among Us video game licence expands with the addition of Superman alongside the previously announced figures of Lobo, Darkseid, Bane and Doomsday. And in the same cabinet is what looks to be a Raiden from Mortal Kombat. The Gears of War display we have a new figure of Warden who looks very impressive. The King of Fighters display is also looking good, with a better look at the other figures arriving alongside Iori Yagami and Terry Bogard

The Global product reveal for Star Wars Triple Force Friday that took place on the 26th of September, a week or so ahead of the big day, gave us not only a look at some new Star Wars Black Series figures that had escaped the online leaks - but also some clarity over the variant box colours that had been confusing us. We have updated our Black Series 2019 checklist for these products We start with the main wave for Triple Force Friday which is made up of figures from Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian and Fallen Jedi. Rise of Skywalker gives us figures of Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, Rey and D-0, the Sith Trooper and the new First Order Stormtrooper which seems to use an updated body from the Disney Parks Commander Pyre. From The Mandalorian we have the title character, and as suspected the Off-World Jawa is confirmed as a Mandalorian figure. And from Fallen Jedi is the main playable character of Cal Kestis and The Second Sister. This entire wave (wave 22) will be packed both in the normal phase 3 packaging - but also in a white "first edition" package. Both packaging types should be available from Triple Force Friday, and the white boxes will be available in the UK - although most stockists are selling these as a full case. There is sadly a small fly in the ointment caused by customs with stocks of the Mandalorian and Jawa (standard releases) being held up until sometime next week. And talking of the UK market, checkout the current situation for UK stores in regards to Triple Force Friday. We then have some other figures unveiled during the live event. These include Cara Dune from The Mandalorian and Jannah from Rise of Skywalker. We have got glamour shots for and a promotional write up for these two (see below). We also know we are getting a new C-3PO figure, complete with Chewbacca's bandolier and bowcaster as seen in the global product reveal Update 30th September. We have now had two more reveals for Triple Force Friday courtesy of Smyths in Germany. We have a standard release of the Yavin Luke we saw as an exclusive reveal. This version comes with Luke's blaster and the medal - which will be excluded from the exclusive release. There is no lightsaber included for Luke. We then see a brand new Wedge Antilles figure. Wedge comes in his X-Wing gear with removable helmet and blaster. The Smyths update also gives us a boxed image of Jannah - albeit with a spelling error on the character name. We also get a clear look at the basic First Order Jet Trooper release. All these figures (with a TBC against C3PO) are part of another wave and will not be released until December 2019. Hasbro have also quoted that the products shown so far across all lines is only around 30% of their Rise of Skywalker products - more will follow after the films release. This is exclusive to Gamestop, but it still remains unclear if this - or another figure - is the mystery figure fans in the US will get if they pre-ordered the game and figure bundle. Again this should get a worldwide fan channel release. I'd recommend these would be two to pre-order and pickup as soon as you can as historically Target and Gamestop exclusives haven't been overly easy to get in the UK once the first allocation is sold. As yet the Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker is a bit of an unknown quantity and may be Disney Store exclusive, or another one for Walmart. As yet it is unclear if these three figures will be available coe Triple Force Friday, or will formally be announced on the day and then have their pre-orders go live. And then the there is the Carbonized collection. This is not quite another repack into a different box. What we have here is four figures who will be packed in new metallic packaging, but who will also get a variant paint job. The boxes for each of these do retain the same numbering system as the basic release. The figure with the biggest difference seems to be The Mandalorian with the Carbonized version have more metallic finish to the helmet and armour - and looks a much nice figure. The Sith Trooper's armour is updated to a metallic red, while the Second Sister has a metallic graphite finish. The Jet Trooper is the newest reveal in this set, and we know from leaks he is numbered #99 on the box so will also get a standard release as mentioned above. These were first confirmed as US retailer exclusives (see the original press release under the images). A Clone Commander Fox 6 inch Black Series figure listing had appeared on a Gamestop pre-order system in the US, with a few collectors managing to place a $5 deposit order in stores before the listing was removed. It seems the figure is now confirmed with this image having surfaced and been shared online. Fox comes with the Clone Trooper Blaster Rifle, and the pair of handguns that came with Rex. The figure uses the Rex body, with a Mark 2 Arc trooper helmet and visor. As yet we are unclear if this is a Triple Force Friday release, or it will be announced tonight for release later in the year?
