NECA have confirmed the full details for their 7 inch Aliens Kenner Inspired Space Marine Drake figure. Drake was teased a few times in 2018, but now has a release date of February 2020 - which is a different release date than the Kenner Inspired Rhino Alien. What this means, and how Drake will fit into a wave is as yet unknown. Drake will come with his Smart Gun. This is likely a re-use from Vasquez, but includes new attachment that clips on the barrel, or the figures back, and is fitted with dual blades. Big Bad Toy Store have announced they will be carrying an exclusive version of the Storm Collectibles Scorpion figure from Mortal Kombat. The exclusive version features a skinless head sculpt, with the rest of the figure and contents remaining the same. You will get two mask options for use over the head as well as alternative hands, an axe and the "get over here" spear. The exclusive Scorpion is a November 2019 release and can be ordered direct from Big Bad Toy Store. Appearing regularly since Mortal Kombat Klassic, fan favorite Scorpion was once a member of the Japanese Shirai Ryu ninja Clan. Given the name Scorpion for his deadly fighting skills, his life was blessed with glorious kombat in the name of his Grand Master. The BBTS Exclusive Scorpion features a skinless skull head sculpt. Following the formal announcement of the NECA Kenner Inspired Rhino Alien, the NECA team have tweeted a hint at what may be joining the Rhino Alien in 2020. The Kenner inspired Drake Space Marine figure was teased a couple of times in 2018, showing up on display at San Diego Comic Con. Since then the figure went dark and there has been no other news until this tweet. It seems that Drake may be the 2nd figure in a Kenner inspired wave for 2020 alongside the Rhino. Shall we begin speculating who the other one may be? For those wanting a Drake from the 1986 Aliens movie... Randy tweeted a response to a question about this with "We’ll get there in time..." so that seems like work is still ongoing to make a Mark Rolston figure possible.

If you are a child of the 70's or early 80's like myself, and a Star Wars fan, then you need to keep an eye out in your local Asda store. Hasbro have released the Retro Collection (the Vintage collection had already been taken) a set of 6 figures based on the original Kenner moulds and packed in the original packaging with printed shelf wear. The figures have been available via independent specialists, but now Asda are taking us all the way back to those glorious days of Kenner Star Wars with these arriving on toy section shelves at £9.97 each. Asda are quoting the 19th of October for their new Star Wars products, but a lot of stores are going early on these (and the new Rise of Skywalker 5 inch line). There are six figures in total - Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Stormtrooper and Darth Vader. A Grand Moff Tarkin, unproduced originally, is also available via an Escape from the Death Star board game - this is not at Asda (as far as we know). We caught a glimpse of a McFarlane Hybrid Fortnite figure on the packaging reverse for the recent reveals of Nitehare, Beastmode Jackal and Beastmode Rhino. The figure is now listed on Amazon US with a full set of images. Hybrid will come with the flint knock pistol, dragon's claw harvesting tool and the white fang back bling. He should start to land as of the 1st of November. If you want to order direct from Amazon US, then expect to be paying circa £31 including custom costs and delivery. One of the biggest - or rather tallest - BAF figures to date in the Marvel Legends MCU line is that of Giant Man from Captain America Civil War. It was released in 2016 as a BAF getting a repack later in the same year in a "Best of the MCU" wave. The figure will be released again come the end of 2019 as a standalone boxed release. Assembly 4/5 You will need to collect all 6 pieces of Giant Man from either of the two waves in which he is packed. This is either the Captain America Civil War wave or the later Best of MCU wave. Unlike say Hulkbuster, there is no discernable paint difference between the two waves making pieces interchangeable if you wish. There are no immediate issues in assembling Giant Man, but be warned his legs are the weak area and have a tendency to pop off at the thigh joint where they are connected into place. The Best of the MCU wave is the harder of the two to find. While the Best of wave from 2015 had been very much UK and European based - this one featured more in the Far East and not in the West and included figures already highly sought after like Scarlet Witch and the new War Machine. Paint & Sculpt 4/5 First things first, this Giant Man - while 10 inches tall (250mm) - is still not Giant enough in terms of matching the onscreen exploits of Scott Lang in Civil War. This was never going to happen in a BAF scale or even as a standalone release where the price point would have been too high for many. What we get is a figure that dwarf normal 6 inch figures enough to be a focal point. The sculpt of the helmet is crisp and well executed, and with the larger scale we get more detail including translucent red lenses to the helmet with painted eyes and face underneath. The costume detail is simply painted in variations of red and grey with trims of silver and some blue panels painted here and there. The darker grey is not quite dark enough for me, especially when you line the BAF up against a standard Ant-Man figure. Accessories N/A We have no accessories for Giant Man, nor could we think of anything that would have been remotely possible to include along with such a large figure. Articulation 5/5 Despite his size, Giant Man is pretty agile with 19 points of articulation, the same as most male legends bucks in 6 inch scale. Head : ball joint pivot neck Body : T-joint ab crunch, waist rotation Arms : ball jointed shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pivot wrists Legs : ball jointed hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle rockers Even in super size the figure can kneel as well as get into some pretty good fighting and action poses. It is just a shame he doesn't have a more open gripping/holding hand to grab hold of War Machine as we see in the Airport in Civil War. Summary The Giant Man BAF is a figure that ticks many boxes, and while he is quite small to what we see on screen he is probably at about the limit of height that Hasbro could released in the traditional BAF line. The sculpt is good with paint fairly accurate, perhaps not quite as dark as it could be on the suit. With awesome articulation to boot this is a great centrepiece figure for a Civil War display, or even now in a larger Endgame battle scene. I score the Giant Man BAF a solid 4 out of 5. In 2008, Hasbro's Marvel Legends line was all about the comic book figures, and the MCU as we know it now was nothing but a concept. 2008 saw the release of both Iron-Man and the Incredible Hulk movie. Hasbro would produce a number of figures for Iron-Man, but managed just one for Incredible Hulk - an exclusive at Target stores in the US Packaging 3/5 The Marvel Legends of 2008 were being packed on blister cards, but for this Target exclusive Hasbro devised a different format. The Hulk comes in a an oval clear plastic tube, with artwork inserted as a circular card piece to frame the figure and create the back of the packaging. The colour scheme is green obviously with a large Incredible Hulk movie logo and image of the transformed Hulk to one side. To the other is the confirmation this is a Limited Edition. We can just see the Marvel Legends logo behind Hulk's raised left hand. Round the back is a full image of the figure on one side, and on the other an in depth bio of Bruce Banner and his lab accident and how he now transforms into the Hulk. Under this is a stat card of sorts which lists a number of facts. This includes the Hulk's height as 9ft, and his weight at 1400lbs. Oddly it states that Hulk's real name is Doctor Robert Bruce Banner, and then lists underneath his Identity as "Secret". "Pursued for years and driven to the ends of the Earth, Dr. Bruce Banner carries the burden of his secret dark side. A lab accident exposed him to gamma radiations that unlocked something dark within, a primal force of rage so powerful that, in times of great stress, it alters his mind and body into the monstrous creature known as The Hulk! Responsible for untold destruction, The Hulk is a curse Banner chooses to bear alone. While seeking ways to control his emotions, he is tirelessly searching for a cure. But the stress and anger of everyday lift are a constant threat. No matter what Banner does, The Hulk is always with him. Where The Hulk goes, destruction follows." Paint & Sculpt 3/5 Out of the pack Hulk is a solid figure. The head sculpt remains rooted in the comic book but has a passing likeness to the transformed Hulk from the 2008 movie. The body is solid with rippling muscles and veins. These are all coloured green which is the base plastic and then highlights added in a varying green shade. The issue is that the arm plastic is a different shade to the torso, the joints also go unpainted. The proportions of the body are not quite right, and Hulk's arms are very long while the legs are quite short. Overall he stands just 7 inches tall, which is not quite that 9ft stated on the pack realised into 1/12 scale - he'd need to be 9 inches tall to meet that market. You can see how short he is vs a more modern Hulk in the final image as we line him up with the Age of Ultron Hulk figure. The trousers are sculpted and painted with rips around the knees and shins. The upper area shows a ragged line which I assume has to be the remains of Hulk's shirt or similar it has not been painted and is left the same colour as the trousers Accessories N/A There are no accessories with Hulk Articulation 2/5 Hulk boasts an impressive 19 points of articulation, although some of these joints are not as extensive as we see in more modern figures. Head : ball joint neck Body : torso swivel, waist swivel Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint elbow, wrist swivel, hinged fingers Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single joint knee, ankle rockers The head and body movement is minimal, and the body joints are quite loose so there is a bit of wobble in the lower body area. The arms can move quite a bit, but with only a single elbow joint that does not rotate there is only really one position to put the arms in when raised or extended. The finger joints are neat, but don't really add much as they cant close to make fists or similar. Legs do pose well, but the sculpt and single joint knees do kind of dictate only a small number of positions they can go into to keep Hulk standing. Summary I must admit it was curiosity and a need to try and get a figure from each MCU movie that led me to track this one down. Despite its age it remains reasonably priced, and that is most likely down to it not quite meeting expectations against modern MCU Legends releases. The sculpt is good, but more comic book inspired than the screen. Proportions are all out with long arms, short legs and the overall height 2 inches too short vs the height listed for Hulk on the packaging fact card. There are some good points to Hulk, with fairly decent articulation and he certainly looks good in certain poses with that angry growling face. He makes a good talking point in an MCU collection but I can only score him 2 out of 5. See More Marvel Legends MCU figures

NECA have shared the packaging design for the first 2-pack in their fledgling Toony Terrors line of stylised 6 inch horror figure. The Bride of Chucky 2-pack contains Toony Terror figures of Chucky and Tiffany. The set will include the same cut out backdrop as the other figures. Chucky and Tiffany will start to arrive in stores shortly after Series 2 which itself is due in stores in the next month or so.

In 2015 as the Marvel Legends line was just embracing the MCU figures within each wave, and not as standalone product, we hit the 2nd Avengers movie of Age of Ultron. From this film would spring the biggest volume of MCU figures to date and it all started in a Thanos BAF wave with the Age of Ultron Hulk alongside Captain America and Iron-Man. Packaging 3/5 The first age of Ultron figures were badged under the Marvel Legends Infinite Series with the movie logo above the window and the Legends logo taking up the bulk of the space under the window. The front of the box was finished with abold red band carrying the character name of "Hulk", a Hasbro logo and an Avengers Initiative insert. The side art was designed to look drawn and was presented in grey scale, leaving the image quite striking and contrasting to the rest of the black and red packaging colours. Round the back we had a picture of the figure alongside the briefest character text. "Explosive rage bursts from Bruce Banner's veines and unleashes the Hulk!" Beneath this is the pictorial checklist for the comic book Thanos BAF - Hulk being packed with Thanos' right arm. Hulk is somewhat squeezed into the box and is not fully visible in the window. He is accessed via the side flaps and comes inserted into an inner tray which itself sits in a cardboard grey tray that provides the backdrop for the figure in box. When Hulk is out of the way you can see this grey insert also carries the large Avengers "A" logo. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 We are quite early on in the life of the MCU Legends and the likeness on Hulk is not particularly striking - most probably because of the angry grimace which doesn't quite match Hulk's facial expressions from the movie. The eyes are painted to look intense from beneath that brow and the exposed teeth and gum are well executed. The hair is less impressive, being quite grey and featureless. The upper body is simply cast in green plastic. And while there is good muscular definition, it is lost without any kind of wash or defining paint application - it all looks too shiny and plasticy. The lower half is a little better with the dark blue stretchy pants with the red trim and Avengers decal logo round the side of each thigh. While Hulk's height seems to vary in the MCU, most estimates have it at at just over 8 ft tall. Factoring that to the 8.5inch height of the figure, then this Hulk is about right and scales well with the other figures. Accessories N/A Hulk has no accessories - consistent with the character. While we could argue some alternative hands or head would be nice we have to concede this is very big figure squeezed into a general release. Nowadays this would be a BAF or a boxed release. Articulation 3/5 For a big chap, Hulk has a good range of articulation and counts in with 18 points of articulation in total across his full frame. Head : ball joint neck Body : ball joint torso Arms : ball joint shoulder, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pivot wrists Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle pivots Some of these joints are showing their age. The neck for example is just a ball joint without the more modern pivot. This leaves the head mobile but only within the confines of the ball, there is no ability to pivot said ball forward or back. The head is also quite loose on the ball and lolls around a bit at times. The other key issue is the arms which are so big they wont hold flat against Hulk's sides. Considering most people will want Hulk in a Smash! pose of some kinds, this is not a huge issue in the long run. Summary 3/5 Hasbro are yet to bring us a definitive MCU Hulk, and as one of the earliest this figure does show its age a little and some limitations around paint finish and articulation. The sculpt is good, and of course meant a lot of this figure was re-used for the 2018 Hulkbuster vs Hulk 2-pack figure. As the figure starts to raise in price, decisions around which Hulk or Hulks to have in your MCU Legends collection will start to become more difficult. But if you can get this one at circa £25 or so, then he still holds his own in an Age of Ultron display with contemporary figures released at the same time.
