Medicom's Instagram has shared this teaser image of a new MAFEX 6 inch Billy Butcher from The Boys, as played by Karl Urban. There are no more details at this stage, but if we follow same timescale from tease to reveal of Homelander we should see a wider reveal by February.

The next NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle animated series 2-pack will be the combination of The Rat King and Vernon Fenwick. The Rat King will feature rat accessories, and a belt and cannisters of chemical ooze. Vernon will come with his camera and can be transformed from Channel 6 camera man to Were-Rat via swap out forearms and an alternative head. Alternative hands are provided for both characters. NECA have released a full promotional gallery for the set, - and yet no clear image as yet for the set contents. The release is tentatively listed by some independent stores here in the UK for April. In the US it will be a Target exclusive. The TMNT Cartoon line has seen an infestation of rodents! Enter the Rat King. Equipped with soda grenades, a mutagen canister with a removable cap, and a flute to control his rat army, he marches through the sewers of New York to bring an end to human rule. Also included in the 2 pack is Channel 6's own cameraman, Vernon Fenwick. It is the first Marvel Monday of 2021, and the Hasbro team have unveiled a classic comic book She-Hulk in her classic green colouring. She-Hulk uses parts of the existing grey skinned She-Hulk, coming with two new heads and an alternative set of hands. She will be a Hasbro Pulse / Fan Channel single release and is due to start shipping 1st August 2021. McFarlane have shared promotional images on their Facebook page for three new Exclusive Gold Label figures heading to Walmart in the US. (the post has since been taken down?) There is a new Spawn variant taken from Curse of Apocalypse. From the DC Multiverse is a gold variant of Earth-52 Batman. And from the new Warhammer 40k line is a glorious looking Blood Angels Space Marine Primaris Lieutenant. The figures will open for preorder soon, and if we apply the usual timescales for McFarlane releases, these should be Spring releases. It is not clear as yet about any wider distribution outside of the US.

Fans of 1980s classic toy line Centurions will be excited by news from Ramen Toys and their new 80's Commanders line. The 7.5 inch figures will feature 21 points of articulation, removable helmets and the modular weaponry that was a key feature of the original Centurions. The line will feature figures of a Naval Commander, Airforce Commander and Armour Commander. They will be a limited edition and packed in collector window box packaging. The line is not using the Centurions name, and is likely not officially licenced to do so. The Ramen Toys team expect to shows us prototype images in May 2021 with the figures arriving in quarter 4. Commander Pyre is a First Order Stormtrooper Commander working directly for Captain who was one of the main protagonists across the two series of the animated Star Wars Resistance TV series. While he has no direct link to the Disney Parks Galaxy's Edge, Pyre was included in a 2019 Parks exclusive First Order pack along with Kylo Ren, the Mountain Trooper and an MSE droid. In 2020, the Galaxy's Edge line moved to single releases sold via Target stores in the US and the Fan Channel elsewhere. As an existing figure in the line, Commander Pyre was selected for single release in late 2020. The 2020 Target Galaxy's Edge figures utilise the Phase 4 packaging dimensions and base design and artwork. We have a cut in circular panel to the right of the window that states that the item is has been transported directly from Galaxy's Edge Trading Outpost. The Titus artwork is in place in the bottom right, with a greyscale illustration of Pyre - although the impact is a little lost without any colour and he ends up looking very much like any other Stormtrooper Officer. The usual red side spine on the right hand side of the box (as we look) has been replaced with a dull sandstone effect with an orange Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Trading Outpost header. At the base of this side section is a First Order symbol. The back of the box continues to follow the Phase 3 format, with a repeat of the front illustration of Commander Pyre and a short piece of background text. The text makes no reference to his role in Resistance or provides any link - tenuous or otherwise - to why he qualifies as a Galaxy's Edge release. "A fearsome First Order Stormtrooper officer, Commander Pyre stands out from the legions of identically equipped soldiers with his black-and-gold armor" The figure opens in the plastic tray which sits in a dark coloured backing card, this further adds to the dull aspect of the packaging and doesn't have the dynamic look of a bold colour accent as used on the new Galaxy Collection or on the Gaming Greats line. 2.5 Pyre's appearance in Resistance is very stylised in the almost anime style of the show. Like all animated figures that transition to the Black Series line, he is converted to a real world look in terms of proportions and décor. Pyre uses the existing First Order Stormtrooper body that has been in circulation since 2015 and as recently used for Captain Cardinal in the same Galaxy's Edge line. The helmet on Cardinal and now Pyre may have been tweaked as it has some variations on the rim of the helmet and down the sides - although it may just be a crisper cast, or that the colours used are bringing out more detail. The Pauldron is taken from the First Order Officer as first released in the Evolution of the Stormtrooper 4-Pack. This added extra does vary the look for Pyre as does the full gold armour with black under suit., there is even some variation in the black with the upper arm pieces and belt given a dark grey colour. While the armour is not a metallised finish, I do like the overall look it creates without being excessively reflective. Like a lot of the First Order troopers - who have not had a new body upgrade like the Original Stormtroopers and the Clonetroopers - there are issues around the joints in terms of painting. Pyre is cast as a predominantly black figure with gold added, leaving areas of gold paint bleeding into the black. There is also a lot of faults on the armour - possibly as a result of using such an old cast in the factory - these include on my figure some dinting on both shoulders, uneven seams on the rear of the upper leg armour, and an almighty fault in one side of the same upper leg armour - thankfully disguised as it sits more on the inner thigh, 3.5 Pyre comes armed with two First Order blasters. The first is the smaller hold out blaster as released again with the general First Order Troopers since 2015. This is cast in black with no other paint applications. This choice to leave the gun all black is very much contrasting the original Troopers who had white panels painted on the gun, and Cardinal who's hold-out blaster was decorated in red to match his armour. It fits into the right hand, where a trigger finger slots into place. When not in use it can be stowed by way of a peg on the side of the blaster that fits into a slot on the right thigh armour. The larger Blaster Rifle is once more a re-used piece from the original First Order Troopers. It as been cast in black with gold paint added in the same tone as the armour with elements left in black for variation such as the grip, across the barrel and on the side of the casing. The cast of the weapon also shows some issues like a deformed scope. It will fit into either hand, although only the right hand has a trigger finger that slips into the trigger mechanism. In the show, Pyre is often seen reviewing data on a tablet device, or communicating with Phasma via a hologram emitter. These might have been nice to include in the set. 3.0 Pyre has a total of 16 points of articulation, which provides him with a base level of movement, but also some restrictions. Head : ball joint pivot neck Body : torso ball joint Arms : Ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : Ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double joint knees, ankle rocker The upper torso movement via the ball joint in the midriff is good and supports the arm movement for weapon posing with one or two hands. The arms an be raised without issue, with the upper shoulder armour withdrawing under the chest armour as the arm is raised. We do only have single joint elbows that bend to 90 degrees and that is enough for using the two guns provided, including raised weapon poses with the helmet looking down the scope of the larger blaster. Leg movement is hindered slightly at the hips by the thigh armour that hits the belt as the leg is raised. Other than this the legs articulate well and the joints tight enough so not to need a stand in most circumstances. The ankle rockers are a touch on the loose side and may be an issue in the future, the same issue existed on the other First Order Trooper figures. 4.0 Commander Pyre is a slightly odd choice for the Black Series line in terms of us having no other Resistance figures - and unlikely to receive any - and in terms of his non-existent links to Galaxy's Edge. The only factor is likely one of being able to fully re-use an existing mould with a new paint job to provide a new figure into a store exclusive line. What we get is a figure with solid articulation, and that looks the part with the gold paint job - but with flaws around the armour as the figure mould perhaps starts to show its age and significant use since the First Order Troopers debuted in 2015. As a bit of colour in a First Order display, Pyre does the same job as Cardinal and looks fine alongside a raft of white troopers and other First Order protagonists such as Phasma, Hux and of course Kylo Ren. Considering his price here in the UK is circa +£5 vs a standard release and with the character itself lacking in fan support compared to say Hondo Ohnaka from the same line, I can see Pyre being a figure that may well warm pegs for some time or end up on a deep discount. Smyths are receiving stock of new product from the 2021 Godzilla vs Kong movie. This new product from Playmates includes base figures - around 6 inch - of Kong and Godzilla as well as some Hollow Earth monsters like Skull Crawler (as seen in Kong Skull Island) and Warbat. These are all priced at £9.99 and in stock now for purchase / click & collect for Tier 4 areas. They are also listing the larger 28cm (12 inch) figures of Godzilla and Kong at £22.99 each. These are expected in early February. Also listed are the Playmates Toho Godzilla classic figures, repacked and repainted versions of classic Godzilla figures using Bandai molds. The five figures listed are Shin Godzilla, Space Godzilla, Gigan, Destroyah and a Skull Island Kong. These are all around 6 inch tall and are priced at £14.99. Found myself at a B&M Stores today to try and pick up the last of the Doctor Who sets I need and can confirm these are all now reduced to £12.99 and in the store I was in had sold very well in the last week with very few left vs an entire section just a week ago. I was surprised to see the new BST AXN line of 5 inch pop culture action figures from The Loyal Subjects on the B&M shelves. The store I was in had the three launch figures - Naruto Uzumaki, Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop and Alphonse from Full Metal Alchemist. The BST AXN figures are priced at £13.99 each. Also now on the pegs, joining the Lord of the Rings figures I found pre-Xmas, are the Bendyfigs Harry Potter figures. This new line from the Noble Collection includes figures of Harry Potter, Hermione Grainger, Dumbledore and Dobby. Sadly these figures are made to a 7 inch size and not a true 7 inch scale so Dobby - like Gollum - is way out of scale. The Bendyfigs are priced at £12.99 each. It was also nice to see the new Wicked Cool Toys / Jazwares World of Halo figure line given a lot of shelf space in B&M. Alongside the basic 4 inch figures at £9.99 each were the Master Chief and Brute Chieftain 2-pack at £19.99. Following a solitary 13th Doctor figure 2019 release, 2020 would see the Jodie Whittaker era more appropriately represented in 5 inch figure format from Character Options. The year started with a general release wave with figures of The Doctor, Graham, Dalek and Judoon. Companions Yaz and Ryan would follow in Summer as part of a 13th Doctor Friends & Foe set exclusive to B&M along with a Judoon Trooper. All three of the Doc's companions would then go on to be repainted and repacked in a second B&M exclusive set in Autumn 2020 entitled simply "The Friends of the 13th Doctor" The Autumn run of Doctor Who exclusive sets at B&M followed the exact same box design as the Summer sets and as established back in 2019. The box uses a grey/silver base colour with TARDIS line art and blocks of TARDIS blue carrying the logo and the name of the set - Friends of the Thirteenth Doctor. The figures themselves are presented in a large window with a small red insert at the bottom right labelling them as the 5.5 inch scale collector series - I am not sure why Character are still using this insert as the 3.75 inch figures are long gone now. There is no room on the box front for the character names - but we do get a stick on gold foil sticker confirming these as a limited edition. The window wraps the right hand side of the box with a cut in circle at the top that does list the characters contained within as Yaz Khan, Ryan Sinclair and Graham O'Brien. The back of the box then goes on to show images of each of the figures, with those character names underneath. Despite putting extensive background text on the TARDIS and Dalek sets - there is still nothing on these three packs - not even a confirmation of which story each figure is taken from. The box opens via the top or bottom flap, with a slight change here vs the Summer packs as the tab has gone and we have a singe fold in flap along the full length of the top section - taped in place at the centre. The figures are held into their inner tray by way of elastic ties around waist and legs - this is best cut with scissors from the reverse. Pulling the figures out without removing the ties can damage the paint. 3.0 Yasmin looks to be based on the very recent 2020 episode, Fugitive of the Judoon. She features a brown leather jacket, and a leopard print top underneath. The leopard print is not perfect close up, but for the 5 inch scale it looks OK. The trousers are cast in black plastic and are then painted with what looks to be a two tone finish with them looking brown from some angles, and with a blue hue from others - I assume this is a finish to recreate a dark denim look. The head sculpt is a very good likeness to Mandip Gill, with an intricate hair piece with two rear buns and flowing hair down each side of the head. The painting is neat, but basic and perfectly in keeping with the Doctor Who line. Yasmin is a repaint of the Summer 2020 B&M release which itself is an older Claudia Brown body from the Character Primeval line. It works fine in terms of a recreating the jacket and trouser look - although if you are being picky the jacket should have a ridged arm design and the leopard print blouse be a little smaller print. The face treatment is very similar on both figures, so neither stand out as superior to the other. Paint apps overall are neat and tidy. Ryan Sinclair is loosely based on the 2018 story, The Ghost Monument. I say loosely as Ryan's jacket in that episode was a short and less bulky affair and not fastened. What we have with Ryan is a paint app to match the episode - but it really needed a very different torso piece to work. We get a single grey tone on the jacket and a light blue on the small piece of shirt we can see underneath. The trousers are tan in colour and the shoes painted white to try and recreate trainers - this doesn't really work as the base sculpt is clearly a boot design. The head sculpt for Ryan is good, and a passing likeness to Tosin Cole, just not as clear and as well executed as Yaz. Like Yaz it is painted neatly and in keeping with the rest of the range. Also like Yaz, Ryan is the exact same base figure as the Summer 2020 B&M release with the colours adjusted only. This new version also looses some detail, with no additional paint apps to the coat in terms of the fastenings. Character do need to re-use a lot of parts in these B&M sets to make them viable, and they have become masters in kit-bashing their figure library and making tweaks to create new figures. The Ryan figure is from the old Primeval line and uses the Nick Cutter body. I have said in my previous review that the look of this outfit just doesn't fit with Ryan's style or any episode he is in and the best they can do is match the colours. There is better bodies out there such as Rory Williams or the End of Time Master to repurpose into a Ryan Sinclair. Ryan is sadly the weakest figure in the set in terms of initial concept and execution. Graham O'Brien features a brilliant likeness to Bradley Walsh with a bit of expression built into the sculpt to show him with a cheeky half smile. The hair is greyed out without being too pale and the face painted again to a good standard in keeping with the lines look. The outfit is from It Takes You Away from 2018 and features a brown leather jacket with a checked shirt underneath. The jacket should really be open with more of the shirt exposed to match the episode fully, but the match is good. Graham is then wearing a pair of dark blue trousers and black shoes. Graham too is the same base figure as his early 2020 release when he was single carded in the general release wave. The body is from Primeval again, the Stephen Hart figure, and brings with it some incredibly large and odd looking hands that were original made that way to hold a rifle weapon. I wish that Character had swapped these out for a more proportional pair. 3.0 While the B&M Sets have started to see the inclusion of accessories in some instances, none are included in the Friends of the Thirteenth Doctor Set. All three figures utilise the same articulation, 14 points in total. This is of course consistent with the line as a whole and fully as expected considering all three figures use bodies previously used in this or similar lines. Head : rotating neck plug Body : rotating waist Arms : rotating shoulder joint, bicep swivel, single pin elbow, rotating wrist Legs : T-Joint hip, thigh swivel, single pin knee None of the figure are overly expressive. The arms are quite mobile, but engaging the bicep swivel will throw the look of the arm. With no ability to extend the shoulder away from the body, only rotating round, simple gestures with the arms are the only real choice for display. 3.0 The second batch of figure sets in 2020 were far too similar to the ones that had come just 3-months earlier and this set, like the others, will suffer from some buyers fatigue and where more casual fans, collectors and kids will not necessarily feel the need for another Yaz, Ryan or Graham figure. The re-use of older bodies is the norm now for the Who line, with new heads and over-jackets in some instances to bring us new figures or iterations of existing characters. In this set, this works for Yaz and Graham - but not for Ryan who's base figure choice is wrong when I can think of two others that would have been a better choice. Had they gone with another look for Ryan, then alongside well executed figures of Graham and Yaz - this set would have scored much higher. Character have avoided the temptation to develop and evolve the Who line, and figures bought now can seamlessly integrate into the collection alongside figures as far back as the lines launch in 2006. And you also cannot argue with the price of three 5.5 inch figures for £20... or at the better price of £12.99 which we are now seeing in B&M stores to clear through these sets after Xmas 2020. Previews World have shared a new image of the incoming McFarlane Mandarin Spawn action figure. The blue variant of the figure has already been revealed and will be a Gold Label exclusive to Walmart in the US. This red version is a general release and features more or less the same sculpt but with some changes to the belt for example and the shoulder armour. Mandarin Spawn will come with his twin blade weapons and will be window boxed like the other McFarlane 7 inch lines. He is down for a March 2021 release. From TMP/McFarlane's Toys. NECA's Christmas Day treat to everyone is the first images of their new figures from The Boys. Homelander and Starlight look great, and we expect more information over the next few weeks.

The NECA Christmas tradition of releasing checklists for their various ranges always carries a tease or reveal or two. In the checklist for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line we got more than just one with new figures on the checklist for Chrome Dome, Ace Duck and the Frogs - Napoleon, Attila, Genghis and Rasputin. There is also a look at the Turtles in Disguise. The corresponding poster for the Movie, Video Game and Mirage comics Turtles also teased a couple of new Mirage Comics April O'Neill variants in her green and yellow jumpsuits - only the blue has been released to date.
