The Power Rangers 6-inch Lightning Collection Andros figure, teased a few months ago, has now been listed in the US as a Target exclusive. Based on the In Space series, Andros is in his disguise which includes a soft goods cloak to hide his identity. Accessories include the Astro Blaster and effect piece, an alternative set of hands, and two head options so Andros can be displayed with or without his helmet. Target have already sold out of this online, although more should ship into stores. It is expected the figure will have a Fan Channel release outside of the US. The McFarlane online Toy Store launched on the 4th of August, and now provides an online store option for McFarlane items and exclusives. The store is servicing the US and Canada only at the moment, but the wording states "at this time" which indicates further territories will be explored. The first exclusive for the new online store is a five-pack of DC Multiverse figures in exclusive packaging. This is the contents of the Bane BAF wave and includes a repack of the single released figures of Omega, Scarecrow, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the former BAF Bane, from The Last Knight on Earth. The set is $124.99 and ships in October. Character Toys have revealed their Summer Doctor Who releases heading into B&M stores in the UK. There are fewer sets than last year, with the History of the Dalek sets continuing, and a new direction for the 3-packs. There are no TARDIS sets at this point, something that has potentially been exhausted for now. The three packs are now story-based, and there are essentially new figures across both sets. Up first is a set from The Sensorites (1964). The pack brings us a new repaint of the existing 1st Doctor figure, and two new Sensorite figures - one standard and one to represent the Sensorite Elder. Both come with probe accessories. The sash piece from the Elder Sensorite can be removed and therefore a 2nd set can be tweaked to give you two more looks for the Sensorites with single sash. There is also an update to the 3-pack packaging with the grey backing card replaced by a more scenic backdrop. This Doctor Who Collectors set is a must have for all Doctor Who fans and collectors and includes a trio of detailed Doctor Who figures from the classic 1964 episode ‘The Sensorites’. The Sensorites were a terrific alien species with their telepathic abilities and peaceful overtures. Their appearance at the window towards the end of episode 1 must rate as one of the creepiest entrances of any alien in the show. Celebrating the episode fans will be able to enjoy a First Doctor figure, a Sensorite Action Figure with Probe Accessory plus an alternative Sensorite ELDER Action Figure with Probe Accessory. For the first time in a 3 figure pack we have a detailed insert card rather than bare white card. The second set is based on The Keys of Marinus (1964) debuts Ian Chesterton into the line, using a new head sculpt and the John Simm Master body. While Ian didn't actually wear a suit in this storyline, Al Dewar from Character indicated in his launch video that they wanted to do the more classic School Teacher look for Chesterton. Ian is joined by two Voord figures, both packed with a dagger accessory. There are minor variances between the Voord, one has a triangular head piece with the other circular. There are also some minor paint differences, with one pictured with some additional silver trim. Also from a classic episode of 1964 is The Keys of Marinus Collector Figure three-figure Set. This Ian Chesterton Action Figure depicts one of The Doctors very first companions and is accompanied by not one but two Voord Warrior Action Figures with dagger accessories. The evil Voord Warriors of the Planet Marinus with its arid land and acid seas are extremely memorable because of their truly unique design and are replicated in this classic set. Again this comes with a detailed insert card. Both the Voord and Sensorites use the same body, which itself looks to be the Axon figure. New heads, hands, and feet have been sculped and added. The Dalek sets use the existing classic Dalek mold and will move into the 2nd Doctor era Daleks with The Power of the Daleks. The 2-pack will feature a standard drone and a drone with the mutant scoop arm. The Doctor Who Daleks’ Collector Sets have their very own fan base and to mix things up a little the next two sets are slightly out of order to give a more varied on shelf presence. So first up is Set #5 The Power of the Daleks Set, comprising of two highly detailed Daleks - The Silver Drone Dalek and Drone with Mutant Scoop Dalek. As opposed to jumping into Evil of the Daleks in timeline order we actually we then move to the 3rd Doctor stories and a Day of the Daleks set that will feature a Day of the Dalek Drone and the Gold Supreme Dalek. The reason for the change is to avoid two Dalek sets on shelves at the same time that look virtually identical. Evil of the Daleks will follow at some point. Finally, we jump one story forwards to the next decade to 1972’s ‘Day of the Daleks’ and The Daleks’ first foray into colour TV with Collector Set #7 which celebrates this four part story first shown in January of that year. In this set you’ll find the highly detailed Gold Supreme Dalek and Grey drone Dalek as seen in the episodes. Considered a classic among Doctor Who fans, this episode saw the Third Doctor and his companions Jo and U.N.I.T take on Time Travelling guerrillas, Ogrons and the Daleks, in a bid to avert World War III. All the sets will head to B&M in August at some point and we believe this is the first wave for 2021 with a second wave to arrive in Autumn 2021. The next two Jurassic World Amber Collection 6-inch scale releases have been listed for pre-order giving us a first look at Robert Muldoon from the original 1993 Jurassic Park movie, and the juvenile T-Rex, and Compsognathus 3-pack from The Lost World. Muldoon will come with two head portraits as well as a removable hat and vest. There will also be an alternative pair of hands, and he is armed with a cattle prod weapon - but no shotgun as seen in the 'Clever Girl' scene. The juvenile T-Rex will feature the wrap they use to secure its mouth and there are three Compys included in the set. Each Compy is identical and articulated at the arms, legs, and at the jaw as far as we can see from the photos. Muldoon and the T-Rex / Compys will be part of a September 2021 release along with Dr Alan Grant and the Jurassic Park 3 Velociraptor. The McFarlane Warhammer 40k line in partnership with Games Workshop launched in 2020 with each wave made up of both fully painted 7-inch figures and unpainted 'artist proofs' which allow collectors to paint the figures as they would with the 25mm miniatures on which the figures are based. Despite it fitting into the McFarlane ethos of multiple variants and repaints, the output of the line has been relatively slow at the moment and it has taken until the Summer of 2021 for the second wave to make an appearance and add a new character to the line with the Adpeta Sororitas Battle Sister joining the line alongside the existing Space Marine and Necron figures. The packaging for wave 2 is the same as wave one and in line with most of the current McFarlane offerings. The large window shows off the figure and accessories, with the WH40k logo underneath. The character is not actually named on the box front, but rather on the side with an image of the figure itself. The opposite side is a cut into the window and designed around the organic and steampunk styling of the Warhammer 40k universe. The back of the box serves simply as a checklist of other releases in the wave - the Blood Angels Marine Hellblaster and the unpainted artist's proofs of both figures. There is a missed opportunity here for some background or synopsis of the Adepta Sororitas and allow more casual fans (such as I) of WH40k to pick up some supporting information and history. The box allows the figure and inner tray to be removed without any damage to the box, although McFarlane are continuing to attach the black circular stand to the backing card, and the only way to remove it is to tear it off - so much for 100% collector packaging and the option to repack your figure if you wish. In hand, the Battle Sister is glorious in terms of the proportions and overall sculpt, significantly more detailed than the Space Marine we had in wave 1. There is a sweeping helmet with white faceplate and red eyes, and then a pair of oversized shoulder pauldrons each decorated - one with a fleur de Lys, the other with the winged symbol of the Imperium. The tubing of the armour then runs into another icon piece with a golden skull around which is wrapped another fleur de Lys, this time as a pendant. The black armour includes plenty more subtle symbols, particularly on the chest and midsection and down to the detail around her belt and the knee pads and lower leg armour. A rubber PVC skirt section hangs front and back from her belt and this is textured in a red base plastic with further patterning front and back, With all this intricate detail, the main criticism of the figure is that not enough paint has been applied. The body is cast in black armour and over this, we have red, white and gold with a touch of silver for the tubing and brown around the belt. There are rafts of other detail that would have looked exceptional picked out with shading and dry-brushing - even if it was the rivets of the armour or the grenades on her belt. The paint we do get is predominantly neatly applied, although white onto a black base is problematic in most cases and you can see some of that in the knees and shoulder iconography. I guess a price point was being worked too here in terms of how much paint could be applied at the factory and to what detail, and like the Artist's Proof, there is no reason why collectors could not take up a paint brush to further enhance the basics we've been given straight out of the box. The Battle Sister is certainly ready for battle with her accessories. She is packed with a chainsword and a bolter, neither of which are re-uses from the Space Marine and both include the Fleur de Lys design of the Adepta Sororitas. These are both big chunky weapons, exactly as we'd see them on the miniatures and both feature the same basic paint apps with black for the grip of the sword and bronze on the ammunition of the bolter - again there is loads of scope to enhance these if you have the painting skills. Unlike the Space Marine, the backpack for the Battle Sister is not removable and is securely glued into place. Articulation is certainly something McFarlane have worked hard on in recent years, with a lot of lessons learned from their Fortnite line that is now being applied here. The Battle Sister has 16 points of articulation in total and this includes double joints for both knees and elbows - although oddly then without a bicep or thigh swivel to help rotate the leg/arm when posing? All the joints work well enough and considering this is another WH40k bulky armoured character, the joints do what they need to for posing with the sword or bolter, or both. There are some balance issues with the figure, this is not due to the ankle rockers which are tough and ratcheted, but from the toe articulation that McFarlane have added which is quite loose and can see the figure tip forward. I must admit that my own knowledge of the Sisters of Battle was limited ahead of the release of the figure, and my overall WH40k knowledge was some 20 years or so out of date. Despite my lack of knowledge or investment in the figure (something I did have with the Space Marines), the design of the McFarlane figure had me put it on pre-order, and now in hand, I am certainly not disappointed and must say I am now heavily invested in the line as a whole assuming I can keep up with the variants, exclusives, and chase figures - and assuming McFarlane can keep it fresh with a sensible mix of repacks and new characters like the Genestealers, Orks, and the forces of Chaos. For circa £20 you get a heavy 7-inch figure with exceptional sculpted detail and sufficient paintwork application (with scope for more if you want to customise). There are two hefty accessories and a good level of articulation. Well done McFarlane! NECA have released the details and some more images of their unmasked Casey Jones from the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The figure is virtually identical to the first release, packed full of sports related weaponry such as hockey sticks, baseball bat, golf club, and cricket bat. There is an unmasked second head now, with a second mask that the figure can hold with the various hand options included. In the US this is a Walmart exclusive and will ship soon. It is arguably one of the most iconic scenes in cinema, and now Iron Studios are bringing the bike scene from ET, featuring ET and Elliott in 1/10 Art Scale polystone statue form. There are two versions of the statue, both featuring Elliot on his bike, with a shrouded ET in the front basket. They are sculpted as though flying over the treetops on the base below. The Deluxe version goes one step further adding in the moon as a backdrop with built-in LED lights to illuminate the whole piece. Both statues are Q2 releases for 2022. A boy carries in his bicycle basket, wrapped in a white sheet, an unusual friend, a small alien lost on Earth that is being pursued by government forces. In their flight to find their fellow men and return to his world, the two friends run towards a California forest, where the spacecraft that will rescue him must land. To escape a police blockade, the little alien uses its telekinetic abilities to levitate the bike, lifting them into the air and flying over the trees towards their destination. This anthological scene, which has the moon as a backdrop, was also used in the promotion of the film, becoming one of the best known and most striking images in cinema, even becoming the logo of Amblin Entertainment, Steven Spielberg's film producer, and now also proudly replicated with the statue "E.T. & Elliot - Art Scale 1/10 Deluxe – E.T. - Iron Studios". Created by Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison, 1982's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is among the highest-grossing films of all time, winning four Oscars, and added to the Library of Congress's National Film Registry, being designated as culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. Iron Studios have revealed the next statue in their Jurassic Park series. The 1/10 Art Scale 'Two Raptors' statue. The two Velociraptors are sculpted moving through the jungle, based on some concept art from Stan Winston. The base even features a carved effect Jurassic Park logo. The statue measures over 9-inches wide/deep and nearly 8-inches tall. The statue is a Q2 2022 release with a US retail price of $299 Hidden among bushes, two prehistoric predators sneak forward, watching and sniffing out their next prey. Among the most feared creatures of the Jurassic world recreated by man, Iron Studios presents, in one more work derived from the cult movie franchise, the statue "Just The Two Raptors Deluxe Art Scale 1/10 - Jurassic Park - Iron Studios", featuring the lethal Velociraptors, faithfully represented, to honor the legacy of the work of Stan Winston and Steven Spielberg. Inspired by a promotional concept created by Stan Winston's studios, master of visual effects and responsible for the creation of the dinosaurs in the 1993 movie Jurassic Park, Iron Studios recreated this scenario that presents the scary beasts in their original tones on a diorama base formed by the earthy terrain of the Costa Rican rainforest. The raptors present themselves as if they were moving through the vegetation, with the iconic Jurassic Park logo carved into the front. In the film, the paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant explains to a young visitor who disdains Velociraptor fossils, … “Try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous period. You get your first look at this "six-foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head -- and you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement, like a T-Rex, he'll lose you if you don't move -- but no, not Velociraptor. You stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes not from the front, but from the side, from the other two raptors, you didn't even know were there. Because Velociraptor's a pack hunter and used coordinated attack patterns to take down his prey!”. This dialogue inspired the name of this statue. In the original park located on Isla Nublar, the Velociraptors were kept in isolation in a maximum-security area with eight animals. With the arrival of a female, who took over the leadership of the pack, the group was reduced to just three animals, as she made all the raptors attack the electric fences in search of failures so they could escape. Along with all this situation, the head of computing, Dennis Nedry, decided to run away, which also caused the total power outage, making it easier for the beasts to reach their goal. The dinosaurs then began to explore the entire park and hunt visitors, which resulted in some of the most memorable and frightening scenes in the saga. The velociraptor has established itself as one of the most beloved and present dinosaurs in the movie franchise, in a work adapted from the book by Michael Crichton. Revealed at NECA's Comic-Con Virtual Panel, the full details are now released for the three NECA Alien figures joining the line later this year. The wave of three takes the 1994 Arcade Alien vs Predator Xenomorphs that NECA released in 2019, and gives them an upgrade. As well as articulation updates, the figures are now painted in a style to match the movie Xeno's - creating a What If scenario. The wave includes the Arachnoid Alien, Razor Claws Alien, and the Chrysalis Alien. They will be packed in a standard window box and will still be under the AvP video game logo. The wave will be 'first to market' at Walmart in the US as early as August 2021. There is a wider release to follow including, we assume, international options. The first Cal Kestis figure from the EA Games Jedi: Fallen Order video game was released on Triple Force Friday in 2019 packed along with his droid, BD-1. This 2nd version of Cal, released in 2021 as a Deluxe figure, see's the first Jedi: Fallen Order figure in the new Phase 4 Galaxy Collection Packaging with Cal the 2nd figure in the new Galaxy Collection Gaming Greats series. The figure is a Gamestop Exclusive in the US, with availability through the Fan Channel elsewhere. Cal's Deluxe packaging is the same height and depth as the standard Galaxy Collection series boxes but is wider to accommodate what would usually be a bigger character or a raft of accessories and packed in parts. The figure is still badged under Gaming Greats with the foil sticker on the front window. These now form the Gaming Greats series in the Galaxy Collection with an electric blue hue used as the collection colour. Cal is number #02 with his side artwork connecting directly to the previous release, the Battlefront 2 Rocket Trooper. The artwork is repeated on the back of the box along with the background text. Rather than written as a character snippet, this text reads more as a premise for the game itself. "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order lets players evade the Empire's forces as Cal Kestis, a Padawan fugitive on a quest to complete his training and rebuild the fallen Jedi Order" Out of the box we find Cal packed into an inner tray that is wrapped in a cardboard grey backing section and the window of the box as a cover over the figure and not attached to the box itself. This new version of Cal is meant to recreate his Scrappers Guild uniform from Bracca, and is actually a repaint of the original figure in the orange colouring, but with a new soft PVC jacket added to create the poncho. Most of the body is cast in the base colour with limited paint picking out buckles, straps and Cal's gloved left hand. The poncho carries most of the paint apps with a painted brown shoulder strap and the orange panel painted just beneath the hood. Considering the state of Bracca and Cal's role as a Scrapper the costume is a touch too clean. Like the body, the head is a direct carry over from the original figure. It uses photo-real print to recreate Cal's likeness. The hairpiece looks to be an individual piece with a telltale gap around the sides. It is well sculpted but left in the base plastic colour. Considering the customizability in the game with outfits and poncho's, I had expected the poncho to be removable from the body. While it is a loose piece, the way it is glued with the strap under the right arm - there is no easy way of getting it off to reveal the body underneath. What you do get is the option to have the hood up or hood down - or indeed no hood - by swapping out parts over the head. These hood parts are the same soft PVC as the poncho and are meant to notch into a slot on the back of the poncho. Sadly, the material is too soft and you will find both hoods are prone to free movement. The hood up option is not the worst I've seen, it certainly sits more naturally than the Supreme Leader Kylo Ren hood. When we have a standard figure in a Deluxe set, then we are expecting a raft of accessories to justify the additional £10 on the price tag. Cal starts with a Jedi Holocron which is the first time this piece of Jedi history has appeared in the Black Series. It is very well executed with a translucent green cube that is then painted with silver trim for the framework. The issue is in Cal being able to hold it. We have no extra hands in the set, and what we needed is at least one shaped hand to hold the Holocron rather than simply propping it on top of the gripping hands and hoping it stays put. We then move on to Cal's weapons, and the first of these is the same lightsaber hilt as was included with the first release. It comes with a removable blue translucent blade, and this can be swapped out if you wish to one of the included green blades. Again, considering the customising options in the game, it would have been awesome to have some other coloured blades included like the orange and the purple. The aforementioned green blade is for the dual-blade lightsaber that is included. This is a new hilt piece and you get two green blades allowing for a full double blade option. Again, other blade colours would have been great - and at least as a minimum an extra blue blade so you could have had a blue dual blade option. The saber hilts fit well into either or both hands. The blades are also thicker than some of the recent saber blades and therefore they arrive straight in the box and have less risk of snapping at the connection point. BD-1 is another included part, again a repainted piece from the original release. He is now in a deep red paint job with some white panels on his head and some yellow wiring on his leg. BD-1 is articulated with a ball joint at the head, at the hips, and a pivot at the knee section. They have also done something we did ask for after the first release and cut a slot into the poncho so we can slide in BD-1's foot and have him ride on Cal's shoulder. Like the hood, the fit is not perfect - but it does give a neat display option, although you may need a bit of Blutack or something similar to hold him in situ on display. There is another companion piece in the shape of the Bogling you can pick up in the game from Bogano. Unlike BD-1, this is a single-cast piece with no articulation. It is sculpted in an upright position with the tail used to create a solid standing position. The figure is cast in the orange fur colour with painted feet, collar, and face - and with the big black glossy black eyes. Cal Kestis has 19 points of articulation, coming with the twin jointed neck with articulation top and bottom, and with the butterfly shoulders. The latter is somewhat restricted by the poncho which is why a removable poncho would have opened up some more posing options. All the joints are secure and do what they are designed to do and Cal stands perfectly well. In summing up, this is a figure I would have been happy with as a single release - perhaps without the Bogling or one of the saber options. As a Deluxe figure it feels like it is lacking a little considering it is only the Bogling, Dual Saber, and Holcron that are over and above from the first release. It would have been good to see Hasbro play more with the custom options, perhaps with other poncho options - soft goods maybe - and definitely expanded our blader options for the sabers. The figure itself looks the part and is only missing a bit of weathering to really finish it off. Super7 have revealed their second wave of Transformers Ultimates figures. The 7-inch figures in this second set will include Bludgeon, Grimlock in his Dino Mode, Megatron, and Tracks.
