Hasbro has shared with us the launch details for the Transformers Generations War for Cybertron Golden Disk Collection. "The Golden Disk is a powerful artifact with the ability to reveal knowledge of the past, the future, and of the infinite possible destinies throughout time. Discover an alternate timeline in which the quantum surge that mutated many Maximals and Predacons into Transmetals, goes very differently" The four new releases each represent one of the four Chapters of the Golden Disk Collection starting with a two-pack of Autobots Road Ranger & Puffer. They will be joined by Autobot Jackpot, with Sights. The series then moves to the maximals with mutant Tigatron and finishes with the Predacons and Terrorsaur. All of the Golden Disk Collection Transformers are up for pre-order as of the 30th of September 2021 and they have a March 2022 release date. Tamashii Nations have announced the release, in 2022, of a movie Deadpool figure from the Fox Deadpool movies. The SH Figuarts 1/12 scale release will feature Ryan Reynold's Deadpool in his movie costume and it will feature alternative eyepieces for differing expressions as well as a selection of hands to recreate some of Deadpool's gestures from the big screen. The figure also features twin katana's that can be wielded or holstered in the sheaths on the figure's back. The SH Figuarts Deadpool is open for pre-orders as of the 1st of October 2021 and will be shipped in February of 2022. Over the last few weeks, Amazon in the US have been slowly putting up the details for each of the Hasbro Fortnite figures in their soon-to-launch Victory Royale 6-inch series. The latest page is for the Shark Upgrade set. The set features a Shark as well as water skis, fishing rod, pump shotgun, shield potion, and a Shrimpy back bling. These accessories will fit the standard 6-inch figures (sold separately) and come packed inside the Shark which can then be split open ready for looting. Like the other Fortnite figures from Hasbro, the plastic on the packaging has been removed leaving this set as an enclosed cardboard box - the figures will include a cutout window to see the figure's head. The Amazon US listing (now out of stock) did have a 1st of October release date, so we may be close to the Fortnite figures landing from Hasbro Ready up! Hasbro has created a number of iconic Transformer crossovers with other properties in the past few years including ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters, the Back to the Future DeLorean, and an upcoming Jurassic Park 2-pack. The crossover series has now reached the Marvel Universe with the release of Ultimate X-Spanse, a Transformer crossover with the X-Men Universe. Hasbro UK's PR team kindly send us X-Spanse free of charge to photograph and review. Ultimate X-Spanse arrives in vehicle mode in the box, specifically the X-Men Blackbird X-Jet as seen in the comics and the 1990 TV series. It is cast in blue plastic with silver and black panel inserts as well as bright yellow on the engine intakes and red detailing above the cockpit and on the X-Men logos on the rear tail fins. The Blackbird also features landing gear, with a front central strut and two smaller rear struts under the main engine bay. These can be folded away if you want to display the piece in vehicle mode but in flight. Like a number of the other cross-over pieces, Hasbro has given us a couple of small static figures to display with our X-Jet. While the choice of who to include is extensive considering the X-Men roster the choice has been made to include Wolverine and his nemesis Sabertooth again in their classic 1990 comic book styling. Each figurine stands about an inch and a half tall with both sculpted in a pose ready for battle with Wolverine stooped with his claws out and ready. These are quite limited in their detail and paint and the rear images of these on the box is not reflective of what you actually get. Both figurines stand well enough with their feet pushed a little beyond a standard proportion to give them good balance. You can also power up the figures with one of the included effects pieces. The smaller of the included translucent pink pieces wrap the figurines waist for a powered-up effect. Transforming X-Spanse is a 34 step process supported by the usual included visual step-by-step guide. While the guidance is not overly clear in places considering the steps are often in very small images in a red and greyscale - I transformed X-Spanse reasonably quickly and without any major issues. In Robot Mode, X-Spanse stands over 9.5 inches tall with the shape of the X-Jet itself disguised well round the back of the figure with the body of the jet spread as wings behind the head and shoulders. X-Spanse features more yellow sections than the Jet, particularly the X-shaped chest piece which itself is inset with a red and black X-Men logo. Articulation includes the head, arms, legs, and a joint at the waist section. Each joint is secure and works well within the overall bulk of the figure - the waist for example moves as much as the rear parts of the folded X-Jet can allow it. The head is modelled after Cyclops with a yellow and red visor that is also articulated and can be lifted to reveal the full Transformers Cybertronian head beneath. Like the smaller figurines included, X-Spanse in Robot Mode also has two translucent pink effects pieces to enhance the display. each fit using a circular plug that goes into a socket just above the hand. The pieces are interchangeable and fit on either hand. The first is a blast effect, with the other a recreation of one of Wolverine's claws. "Thank the Maker" Revealed on StarWars.com is this new Star Wars Black Series figure of George Lucas. George is presented as an Imperial Stormtrooper using the new Imperial Stormtrooper body, complete with a new head sculpt and removable helmet. He will also be packed with an E-11 blaster rifle. The figure is packed on a Vintage inspired card back and sits under the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary series. It will be up for pre-order on Amazon, and via Fan Channel routes, with the preorder open from 6pm UK (1pm ET) on Wednesday the 29th of September. George will "report for duty" in 2022, we assume sometime around Spring. This new George Lucas figure is actually not the first time the film icon has been brought to life in action-figure form. In 2002, Hasbro released the 3.75-inch rebel pilot Jorg Sacul, featuring the likeness of Lucas, as a Star Wars Celebration II exclusive; Lucas next made the jump to the toy aisle for 2006’s 3.75-inch The Saga Collection, appearing as a stormtrooper; and then again in 2006 as Baron Papanoida, his character from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in the Lucas Collector’s Set. But this is Lucas’ debut in the modern, highly-articulated and detailed 6-inch format provided by the Black Series. Hasbro have announced another new addition coming to the Gaming Greats series of the Star Wars Black Series. The release of Boss (RC-1138) signals the first release from the iconic Star Wars: Republic Commando video game from 2005. Boss borrows the Republic Commando body that was created for some of the Bad Batch figures alongside the backpack used on Hunter, and a new head sculpt. He comes packing the DC-17M rifle. The figure is a Spring 2022 release and in the US the figure is a Gamestop exclusive. The figure will be a Fan Channel release in the UK and elsewhere globally. There is also a third set which is a new piece we have not seen so far. Super7 are becoming the go-to-company for classic Movie & TV action figures, and that reputation has taken another huge step forward with the reveal of their 2001: A Space Odyssey figures, The 7-inch Ultimates will feature Dr. Dave Bowman, Dr. Frank Poole, and Dr. Heywood R. Floyd, all in their Space Suits from the movie. The fourth figure in the wave is Moon Watcher who comes complete with an 11-inch tall Monolith. All of the Space suited figures will come with alternative heads, variant hand options, removable helmet - with Bowman featuring both Red & Green helmets - and a character appropriate accessory. NECA has announced that they are releasing 7-inch scale Dungeons & Dragons figures in 2022 starting with the figures of Warduke and Grimsword. Wizkids, a subsidiary of NECA, has the licence to create D&D miniatures and figures from the current D&D owner Wizards of the Coast (part of Hasbro) and it is under this agreement that NECA will re-imagine the original 1980's LJN figures into their Ultimate format. Warduke will feature a shield, longsword, small sword and knife - while Grimsword will be armed with a shield, scimitar and a snake-shaped flail. Each figure pays homage to the original TSR / LJN designs and packs them in the NECA Ultimate format packaging. Pricing is $37 in the US with the figures initially up for order via the Wizkids website - they quote a Q4 release date for 2021. And while Wizkids do have International Shipping, I have not managed to add the D&D figures successfully against a UK address. The figures are now live for pre-order with BigBadToyStore and a March 2022 release date.
