NECA have confirmed a new Gremlins exclusive heading to San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Taken from the end of Gremlins 2, the Ultimate Greta Exclusive features Greta in her wedding dress as she prepares for her nuptials to Robert Picardo. The set features a full soft goods gown, veil, fabric hair, and a wedding bouquet as well as an alternate pair of hands. Like all the NECA SDCC exclusives we are waiting on details of how these will be sold. Any fans of the Gremlins movies knows the rules: keep them out of sunlight, don’t get them wet, and never feed them after midnight. Break them, and your fuzzy, friendly little Mogwai will turn into a scaly, savage Gremlin. The Gamorrean Guard was released in the Star Wars Black Series in 2018 as a Deluxe release. He was a Target US exclusive and was sold elsewhere via the Fan Channel. The Gamorrean was part of the 3rd Phase of the Black Series and is therefore packed in a squared black box with a bright red side spine. The front of the box features the Black Series logo, character name, and a greyscale artwork of the Gammy as illustrated by Gregory Titus. The red side would normally hold the figure number, but as an exclusive, this is left blank with a shaded black box where the number should be. Around the back, we see a larger image of the Titus artwork as well as a short piece of background text that reads:- "Burly, pig-like brutes who favored axes and other primitive weapons, Gamorreans were often used as muscle by Hutts and other underworld king-pins. Jabba the Hutt employed a gang of intimidating Gamorreans to guard his palace on Tatooine." The Gamorrean justifies his Deluxe status not in height - standing half a head under a standard figure - but in girth with the bulky proportions of the Gamorreans executed really well. The body features a leather brown chest armour, complete with the circular front motif and a dark wash over the top to add weathering. Across this is a black strapping section that also functions as a belt of sorts. The arms start with overlapping studded silver shoulder armour panels and then we run down the muscular green-skinned arm to similarly coloured bracers. The lower skirt of the Gamorrean is executed as soft goods with a scaled fur skirt attached tot he figures waist. It works really well assuming it is tucked in fully, it can start to pull out from the waist as the waist is moved around and that leaves a plainer brown fabric left exposed. If you do want to cut this away fully there is a sculpted and painted brown section underneath. Like the arms, the legs are uncovered and finish in a harsh-looking pair of grey sandals. Painting across the body is excellent with weathering on the brown armour, a realistic gunmetal colour on the metal armour panels and a good skin tone match to the Gamorreans we see on screen. The head is as impressive as the body capturing the prosthetic masks used for the filming of Return of the Jedi complete with those small squinting eyes, porcine nose, wide teeth filled mouth, and horns that sit just beneath the skin-cap helmet. Like the body, the head is well painted with shaded sections that translate from the base green tone to a brown around the nose and mouth. The also features an opening mouth feature, something only found on a handful of Black Series releases. The engineering is more that both the jaw and head are pivoted, and tilting the head back creates the opening mouth. The exposed inner mouth is also painted with pink tongue and yellowing teeth. While the feature adds another dynamic to the figure, the open-mouth look doesn't quite work for me as its not something I can relate back to the original Return of the Jedi scenes. It is however good to have some options to vary your Gamorreans if (like me) you army build these. The Army Building has also been recognised in the accessories with three individual weapons included, all as seen in various scenes in Return of the Jedi. You can choose to arm your Gamorrean with a Vibro-Lance, a hand axe, or a Vibro-Axe. The largest is the Vibro-Lance, the weapons the Guards were using as Luke entered Jabba's Palace. The piece is taller than the Gamorrean himself. It is cast in grey plastic with a wicked three-pronged end and shaped sections down the shaft of the weapon to act as grips. It is unpainted and would have benefited from a darker wash. The small axe is the weapon used by the Gamorrean that escorts R2-D2 and C-3PO into the Palace. It features a brown painted wood colour shaft and a dull grey metallic blade with a brown brushed edge that gives it a rusty used feel. The larger Vibro-Axe is the weapon most of us 80's kids will remember as coming with the Kenner Vintage figure and with most Gamorrean Guards since. It is accurate to the original prop but not easy to see in the film, and we get the best look at it in the Force Unleashed videogames. Like the smaller axe this features a painted brown shaft, dull grey blade with brown rust weathering. The Gamorrean has two gripping hands allowing all three weapons to be fitted in either hand. This also allows two-handed grips for the lance, and for dual axe-wielding if you want to go all out. Articulation was always going to be sacrificed when you have a body shape like the Gamorrean, but Hasbro have still included 17 points of articulation including that jaw. The jaw is more mobile than the head itself which can only really turn a few millimetres on either side. The waist is more extensive in its movement, but keep an eye on the soft goods as they can work their way out. The arms are single jointed but bend well past 90 degrees and thanks to the shoulders that work fully upwards and outwards - with the shoulder armour moving with the arms - the arms are very wide-ranging in movement and that gives you plenty of options for either static guarding, moving prisoners or preparing to attack. The legs feature double joint knees, so the Gamorrean can kneel if you want. The leg movement and the joints themselves do support the figure in many upright stances, and he is very sturdy once posed. It is no secret I am a huge fan of Jabba the Hutt and the scenes in Return of the Jedi and for me the Gamorrean Guard is an essential part of any Jabba's Palace display. The Black Series release ticks nearly all the boxes for me - it looks the part, is well painted and has a good selection of accessories that enhance its Army-Building options. The only real issue for me with the Gamorrean is its exclusivity, and this is an ongoing issue with Hasbro giving core army-builders out as exclusives (see also Phase 2 Clonetrooper, Scariff Trooper, Deathtrooper Specialist as other examples). I have got two guards to date, not paying over retail for either of them - but I would like the option to have more for my Jabba's Palace setup. Perhaps for the 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi? This is my Jabba's Palace display to date with the new Bib Fortuna alongside the Slave Leia, a Gamorrean and a C-3PO. The bigger shelf also includes as many figures as I can think of that would potentially have frequented Jabba's Palace including Boba Fett, Bossk and Dengar as well as some more 'fan theory' inclusions like Aurra Sing. Back in January, McFarlane announced a new Target Exclusive Wave of their DC Multiverse figures. The Crime Syndicate wave was another staggered release, kicking off with the Earth-3 Super-Man and a new figure being revealed and released every 2-3 months through 2022. If you collect all the figures then you can build a Starro build-a-figure. The second figure has now been revealed as Superwoman. Super7 have revealed another 7-inch scale music-themed Ultimates figure in the shape of the Minotaur from the cover of Slayer's 1983 album, Show No Mercy. Over the years there have been some great and affordable Star Wars Starships released from the likes of Hasbro and Mattel, via the Hot Wheels line. One thing that always bugged me though was the scale with the Millenium Falcon always the same general size as an X-Wing or a Tie Fighter. Jazwares are about to break that mold with their new Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadrons line as announced today via Yahoo. The new line features correctly scaled Starships along with Micro figures of their crew. These do remain kid-focused rather than collector items, so while the scaled approach is great some of the releases do feature quite clunky stands or landing gear. It features a removable cockpit and cargo bay panels and also includes both lights and sounds FX. Images of a new Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy set have been circulating for a couple of weeks now, with the set initially found at Epcot in the US. The set has now arrived in the UK as an apparent Shop Disney Exclusive. They are in sale at the final remaining store in Oxford Street, London, for £95. And we would assume it should go online at Shop Disney very soon. The set features the five main Guardians, all figures released previously. Adult Groot is the original BAF and also comes with potted Groot and baby Groot. Gamora, Rocket, Drax and Star-Lord are from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Drax looks like he has a new neutral head rather than the shouting version, while Star-Lord looks like he has the 2-pack head. All should become clear when this is finally listed and we get clearer promo images.

At the time of writing, we have only seen a short teaser trailer for Thor: Love & Thunder and in this, we see Korg in an updated costume from the one he was wearing in Thor: Ragnarok and then in Avengers: Endgame. This review is written ahead of the movie release and is done so only with the information to hand via the packaging of each figure and the teaser trailer from late April 2022. I will update these reviews once the film has been released. This review may contain minor spoilers but only in the context of any information provided on the package or visually on the figure. Korg is the build-a-figure from the April 2022 Thor: Love & Thunder wave with Korg split across 6 of the 7 releases (Armoured Thor does not include a BAF part). Once all the parts are collected, Korg is easy to assemble with each part snapping into place without much effort - even the thighs which are often more difficult due to the thickness of the joint you are trying to close. Korg, from Love & Thunder, is now wearing a more Norse inspired outfit compared to his previous gladiatorial costume. Comparing the Teaser to the figure, and the recreation in the 6-inch scale is relatively accurate. Korg is bare-chested but has a fur wrapped around his shoulders and straps across his torso and arms, with leather studded bracers on his wrists. He is then wearing a thick brown leather studded belt with armoured side panels and a gold rams head buckle. The trousers are blue with a random triple diamond design with selected patches painted either full red, or red outline with a pink interior. The figure is finished with more fur around the feet. The upper body is cast in the grey of Korg's rock-like sin with no other paint applied, not even a slightly darker wash which would have brought out the depth of the granite sculpt. The other parts are added as softer plastic accessories and these two are cast in the base colour with silver studs added to the leather armour and a wash to the fur to darken it, but only at the front oddly. The legs are cast in glue with painted blue, red and pink panels all applied neatly, The knee pads are also painted with gold applied here, and on the armoured panels and belt buckle. Like the shoulders, the fur lining Korg's lower legs is cast in the base colour and has the darker brown wash at the front - but not the sides - the straps are also painted and this is the roughest painting across Korg with much of what should be dark brown missed and left in the base bone white. There are likely some re-used parts from the first Korg figure, notably the chest. But much of the figure is new, including the head which now features a more closed mouth serious look for Korg. Like the body, the head is cast in the grey granite base colour and has no paint apps at all other than the two small grey eyes beneath Korg's brow. Considering the details we get on other head sculpts, Korg feels a little short-changed in this area. Korg should stand about 8-inches tall but upon assembling Korg, it is worth noting he has a very wide stance for some reason that doesn't quite look right - the hips do not seem to be able to come in far enough to straighten the legs. While this is a disappointing design flaw, thankfully there is a workaround with a bit of heat treatment. I used a tall mug full of hot water to first soak Korg's hips to a softer state, then emptied the water but kept Korg in the cup to continue to hold his hips in a straighter finish. He then went in the fridge for a bit. This will give you a straighter leg look, but it can pull the thigh joints a bit wider leaving a notable gap. I've also noticed that in the week or so that I did this the legs are gradually working themselves back to that much wider stance. Korg is armed with his club come blaster weapon, and this is the same one packed with the Ragnarok 2-Pack. It is very basic in its finish, cast in bronze plastic. It is painted in grey around the two end sections and the coverage is not quite to the end so you are left with an unpainted edge. The piece is also ever so slightly warped on arrival. While the basic shape is OK when you look at Ragnarok the piece needs much more detail and then more accurate base colours and applied paint app. We also do not know at this stage if Korg will wield this weapon in Love & Thunder, that will have to be seen. Korg only has one set of hands and the right of these is designed to hold the weapon, with the left hand an open gesture that doubles as either a hand to cup the weapon - or as a wave which is very Korg. Articulation is 18 points in total and the body is entirely pinless which does improve the look overall apart from the head which features a very visible pivot in the neck which serves to allow the head a wide-ranging movement. The arms can be raised, to a point, under the fur, which will move with the arms but not entirely. And watch out when you move the arms that the bicep swivel is a very easy joint to pop out. The torso joint works well enough but is also held back a little, this time by the new belt piece. The legs are as mentioned quite wide in the hips, and the hips are tough to pose with the same issue as the arms that the thigh swivel pops out far too easily. The knees are double-jointed, a neat feature on such a bulky figure, and the ankle rockers are stable and flex enough to support the wider and shorter stance. Korg looks a pretty accurate representation of the Love & Thunder appearance. Like the first figure he is missing a layer of darker grey over the granite skin areas to enhance the look and the depth of that sculpt. The costume is bright and well painted but will take some getting used to - especially the giant gold bling rams head belt buckle. For some reason, Korg is a little soft in certain joints and while he articulates well, I've not seen a BAF where arms and legs pop out and off so easily. There is also an issue at the hips which are engineered too wide and many collectors may wish to try and correct them. With no context for the movie as yet, and based solely on the teaser footage then Korg is a sensible choice for the wave's BAF and you certainly won't be disappointed once he is built.
