Super7 are continuing with their music-themed Ultimates with this new release of Cliff Burton, the 'Major Rager' bass guitarist of Metallica. The Cliff Burton release will come with three heads - one neutral, one screaming, and one headbanging. There is the usual swathe of alternative hands as well as his bass guitar with guitar strap, and a hammer. Target in the US have today revealed five new McFarlane DC Retro releases from the Batman 1966 range. There are three new figures - all of which we knew about thanks to the NYCC 2022 reveals - these are King Tut, Two-Face, and Radioactive Batman. We then have a new playset, the Wayne Manor Library playset that includes the desk, chair, Bat-phone, the Shakespeare Bust, and a sliding wall behind the bookcase to reveal the Bat-Pole. The final piece is a new vehicle for the line, the Bat-Boat. This is a two-seater allowing two figures to drive the boat. We have a new DC Multiverse figure unveiled by the McFarlane social channels. The Gold Label Exclusive figure of The Joker is taken from the DC vs Vampires title and it will be a Walmart Exclusive in the US. Here in the UK, it will likely get a more general release via stockists who are supplied by Bandai UK, the UK distributor. The figure looks to feature The Joker and his mallet. It will also include, as standard, the collectible art card and display base. We would speculate that the figure will go up for pre-order on March 16th, 2023 which is the date of the next Walmart Collector-Con event in the US. It may go immediately into stock, or if not will be released soon after. We await confirmation of these details. Previewed in late January, McFarlane have now put their new DC Multiverse Dick Grayson Robin figure up for pre-order. This Gold Label release is Exclusive to McFarlane Store in the US, there are no details for a release outside of the US. Courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store, we now have our first look at the Holographic Captain Janeway figure Star Trek Prodigy, and part of the wider Playmates Star Trek Universe 5-inch line. The Prodigy figures, based on the 2021 animated Nickelodeon Series, were initially planned for a 2022 release - but have been pushed back to Spring 2023. We can look forward to Captain Janeway in her Starfleet uniform alongside figures of Zero, Gwyndala, Jankom Pog, and Dal R'El with Murf. We also know that an accompanying figure of Rok-Tahk is also in the works. Hasbro's PR Team have sent out some additional information following the Star Wars Fan Stream on Wednesday. On the Live Stream, the Hasbro team indicated that nearly all the new Star Wars product revealed would not be listed for pre-order and would simply arrive on shelves. Today's PR update confirmed this new approach and quoted "earlier feedback on the number of pre-orders" as a driver for this new approach. Only Clone Commander Jesse will open up as a pre-order, most likely due to its exclusivity with Walmart in the US. This apparently updated approach from Hasbro is limited to Star Wars for now, there is no word on other brands taking the same approach although it seems highly likely that some, if not all will. The full press release from the Hasbro PR team is as follows, confirming also that much of the new product arrives in Spring and Summer 2023 apart from Ki-Adi Mundi who will be a Spring 2024 release "Following the Star Wars fanstream on Wednesday, we wanted to clarify the availability of the revealed items.
