Mezco have revealed a new Superman figure in their One:12 Collective series of 6-inch figures. The 'Recovery Suit' version is a new variant Superman wearing his Recovery Suit. It comes complete with four heads, a selection of alternative hands, and removable rocket boots. In the set, you also get an additional Cyborg Superman head, a flag pole, a tattered Superman cape, and FX pieces for the rocket boots. The usual display stand and post are also included. The 'Recovery Suit' Superman figure will be released in the first quarter of 2024 (Jan-March). “Don’t let the outfit fool you. I’m Superman, and I’m back.” Superman emerges from the Kryptonian Regeneration Matrix and joins the One:12 Collective! The One:12 Collective Superman – Recovery Suit Edition is outfitted in an all-black suit with the ‘House of El’ family crest front and center. Removable rocket boots and rocket thruster FX are included for the times where he is incapable of flight. Superman comes with four head portraits in varying facial expressions. The Man of Steel is always prepared, wearing an ammunition bandolier with removable belts, and equipped with advanced Kryptonian weapons that can be held in his hands. The head of Cyborg Superman is included and can be held as well. Recreate the tribute to Superman after his death with the included tattered cape, flagpole, and base. Worn in times where Superman’s power is weakened, his Recovery Suit grants protection and absorbs solar energy to help accelerate regeneration. The 3rd Ultimates release from Super7 in their Papa Emeritus series is Papa Emeritus III, the leader of Ghost during their Meliora album and the Popestar EP. The figure will feature two heads and a massive selection of 17 different hands. The figure also features removable soft goods robes, a microphone stand and mic, and a Thurible with real metal chains. McFarlane have announced a new Gold Label exclusive variant of their Flash figure from the upcoming 2023 movie. This revised Barry Allen includes updated decor and is titled as the 'Speed Force' edition. It includes four Speed Force effect pieces. Hasbro's new Golden Archive series of Dungeons & Dragons figures has already moved beyond the initial movie releases for Honor Among Thieves with the Lore-inspired Owl-Bear and Beholder. They are now adding a new figure of the iconic Drizzt Do'Urden to the line, celebrating the character's 35th anniversary. A Drizzt figure is already in existence as released in 2020 in a deluxe package with his Panther, Guenhwyvar. This new version will undoubtedly be reutilising some parts, but the majority of this new iteration of Drizzt look new. He will feature brown and silver armour, over which is a removable green cloak. McFarlane have announced the lineup of their 2nd wave of the resurrected Movie Maniacs line with the continuing focus on Warner Bros. properties and celebrating their 100th anniversary. In Wave 2 we can look forward to Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, specifically Gandalf the Grey from Fellowship. There is also Sloth from The Goonies, complete with Superman T-Shirt, and the wave is rounded up by Alan Garner from The Hangover. Unfortunately, our website host has recently changed their stance on storage capacity for us as a customer and that has left us as a website moving from a point of compliance to a position where we are now logged as 400% over capacity and in 30 days we will lose our ability to add any new content That means that we now have a very intensive period of action to try and prevent that from happening. The initial process will see all unused images and data be removed. The next step will then review our older reviews where extensive galleries were posted and remove those which are duplicated. Step 3 is to then archive our news feed - which is currently 8 years old - and move to a point where previous years' news moves to text only. We are not sure as yet if that will fix the issue. If our initial plan does not resolve the issue then harder decisions will need to be made. While we can pay for further storage the reality of a site paid for personally with small contributions from advertising is that these additional costs are likely too restrictive, particularly during a Cost of Living crisis and considering personal circumstances after a period of illness Therefore we are facing some possible dramatic changes to the site as it currently stands - this may range from the removal of some databases, moving some or all news/reviews to social media (which has unlimited storage), to a worst-case scenario of a move to a new provider (starting from scratch) to a possible final resort of a total close down. A new DC Multiverse Gold Label has been revealed by McFarlane, this one exclusive to their own US McFarlane Store. The figure is a repaint of the Superman Unchained armour that was originally a 2020 release. This third variant of that figure is now labeled as the 'Patina Edition'. It will come with the detachable wings, a collectible art card and the usual display base. The figure will come packed in special closed-box packaging and also includes a cardholder. The release is limited to 10,000 units. At the moment this will be US only release, but most other Gold Label figures have found their way to the UK and wider global market through the McFarlane overseas distributors. The figure is not a pre-order in the US and appears to have gone into immediate stock. When the weaponized alien called Wraith goes on a destructive rampage in the Batcave and both Batman and Wonder Woman are unable to stop him, Superman dons an armor that features a shield and battle axe to confront the electromagnetic adversary. NECA have revealed that The Nun from the Conjuring Universe will be released later this year in the 7-inch Ultimates line. NECA have released 8-inch versions of Valak in the past, but this version brings her into scale with other Horror Ultimates like their Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers figures. The figure release will feature a full fabric habit and includes alternative heads and hands. Accessories include an orb and painting as well as a display stand. Valek the Nun will come in the closed Ultimate packaging with an opening front cover. It is an October 2023 release. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves.
