Hasbro have landed a surprise reveal of a new Marvel Legends West Coast Avengers 5-Pack. The set will feature Iron-Man, Mockingbird, Tigra, Spider-Woman, and Hank Pym, The set boasts 16 accessories and includes a pair of alternative hands and repulsor blasts for Iron-Man. There will be alternative hands, a pair of batons, and a staff for Mockingbird. Tigra features an alternative head and hands. While Spider-Woman and Hank Pym each get an alternative set of hands. The West Coast Avengers pack is exclusive to Amazon and is live for pre-order as of the 25th of May, with the set due to ship in the Autumn. The recently announced McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label 'Jokerized' Batman from The Dark Knight Returns has gone up for preorder at Target in the US where it is a retailer exclusive. The figure will come with a pair of alternative clenched fist hands, a grappling rope, four playing cards, and the usual collector's card and display base. The figure looks to be a June release in the US and will likely be offered to UK retailers via Bandai UK. As we get closer to the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Tamashii Nations have confirmed they will be releasing an S.H. Figuarts 1/12 scale figure of Spider-Man 2099 from the movie. The figure follows the style and design of the Spider-Verse animation and features a masked and unmasked head. You also get alternative hands, Spider-Webs, and a Spider-Cape. The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Series in 2022 featured a very familiar-looking Bounty Hunter droid, although it transpired that like the IG-88/IG-11 situation, this new LOM series Protocol Droid was not 4-LOM from The Empire Strikes Back, but rather a new LOM series Bounty Hunter designated 1-JAC. That presented a perfect opportunity for Hasbro to utilise their existing 4-LOM mode with a modification or two and give us a 1-JAC figure in the Star Wars Black Series. 1-JAC was a late 2022 release and part of a trio of exclusive figures for Obi-Wan Kenobi that were split across US retailers Walmart and Target - and here in the UK were sold initially by Smyths Toys. 1-JAC is a window box release of the Galaxy Collection and uses the light blue accent colour attributed to Obi-Wan Kenobi for the borders and artwork. 1-JAC is essentially a re-release of 4-LOM from 2018 and to that end the figure retains all the various positives and negatives that the original release had. The overall look of the LOM droid is excellent with the insectoid head and large segmented eyes and front mouth speakers. The body is reminiscent of other Protocol droids including the circular panel on the stomach and the exposed wiring loom that runs down to the waist, and across the arms and legs with component sections joined by pistons and wiring. To create the look of 1-JAC from the Obi-Wan series, Hasbro have given the figure a new bandoleer as an individual rubberised plastic piece cast in black and painted with bright red sections. The droid also gets a new pair of open holsters attached to the thigh sections and something that looks like a retaining bolt on the left forearm The paintwork on 1-JAC uses the base metallic gunmetal grey and overlays this with hints of bronze and some additional red & gold wiring on the stomach. This gives 1-JAC a cleaner, crisper look than the more weathered and worn 4-LOM Articulation was always limited on this body and nothing has changed here, making 1-JAC as stiff and limited as his predecessor. The arms include built-in pistons which do move as you pose the figure, but not substantially enough for posing. The legs are a little better, but not by much with only a partial bend possible in the knees and hip joints that are blocked by the shape of the upper thigh. The head motion is good and that does add some character when posing. 1-JAC features a pair of blasters which fit into the new holsters - the right-hand features a trigger finger and holds the blaster snugly. Sadly, the left hand has not been upgraded to one that can hold a weapon which leaves the droid looking odd when wielding both blasters. Said blasters follow the current format of non-painted accessories, cast only in the same metallic gunmetal as the figure. All in all, you can see why 1-JAC has been peg-warming - even when he turned up in the UK Game clearance in early Spring 2023 and is still on pegs now even after dropping to under a tenner. In principle as a background figure for Obi-Wan Kenobi the concept makes sense - but to match what we see him do on screen, Hasbro needed to up the articulation as a minimum. The new Hasbro Transformers Studio Series releases from last week's Fan First Live Stream Event have opened for pre-orders, which also presents us with a full gallery of the new items and the promotional blurb. The new batch was headlined by the new Buzzworthy Bumblebee edition of Optimus Prime, this Voyager Class figure is based on his appearance in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and comes in the Yellow Buzzworthy Studio Series packaging. Optimus Prime will be released in July 2023 and is a Target exclusive in the US, and sold via the Fan Channel elsewhere. NECA have already begun the teasers for their SDCC exclusives - with two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-based items apparently on the list. Tease 1 came courtesy of actor Ernie Reyes Jr. who plays Keno in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze. We already knew from teasers over Xmas 2022 that a Keno figure with his Scooter is incoming. The SDCC 2023 exclusive will be a box set containing the figure, a T-shirt, a Key Chain, a Magnet and an Employee of the Month Card. The whole set will be boxed in a Roy's Greenwich Village pizza box. At this stage we will assume the figure itself will still get a wider release, and the exclusivity is on the packaging and the other inclusive items. Tease 2 was shared via Toy Anxiety on YouTube and will be a TMNT box set from the 3rd movie with the four Turtles in their 17th Century Honor Guard outfits. The figures will feature wired soft goods robes, alternative 'angry' heads, and the usual selection of accessories. The set will come in a VHS case inspired box set. Following their preview images a few weeks back, we now have full listings for the McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label figures of Dread Lantern from Dark Nights: Metal and Captain Atom from New 52. The figures are exclusives in the US with Captain Atom listed as Walmart while Dread Lantern's final destination in the US is pending. Here in the UK they are being offered via the UK distributor and are available at selected McFarlane stockists for a July 2023 release.
