The Marvel Legends Tracksuit Mafia was released in May 2023 in the UK where it is a Fan Channel exclusive, in the US it is sold via Target. The figure is packed in plastic-free packaging with no visibility of the figure until you open it up. Inside the figure and the parts are held within an inner brown cardboard tray and are wrapped in a wax-paper bag. The figure is an army building set akin to the other MCU army builders to date (Dora Milaje & Hydra Soldier) providing the collector with a base body and alternative heads and accessories for multiple looks. The red tracksuit body is predominantly new, although the arms appear to be from the Stan Lee figure and therefore are pinned while the rest of the joints are pinless and much cleaner. The body is cast in the base red with a simple grey stripe added to the trousers and sleeves, with the only other area of paint application being the zip around the Bro’s collar. The Tracksuit Mafia body does look a bit skinny around the waist, but otherwise is well-proportioned and weighs in with 19 points of articulation including double-joint elbows and knees, and a torso T-joint. The figure arrives with a bearded head that represents one of the Tracksuit Mafia’s, most likely Tomas although the likeness is not 100% accurate. There are three heads included in total with a generic balaclava-clad head, and finally, that of the group's lieutenant, Kazi Kazimierczak, as played by Fra Free. The two unmasked heads use photo-real decor with the Kazi head the better of the two with much more detailing with his beard, and scars. All three heads click in and out easily. The set includes a number of weapons for your Tracksuit Mafia starting with a Molotov Cocktail, complete with a flame effect. This is the most effective and visual of the included parts but does not fit into either hand particularly well which is disappointing. The other weapons work much better and you can choose from a baseball bat, golf club, machete, and crowbar that all sit in the right hand and can be cradled with the left if you wish. With the three heads and multiple weapons, the Tracksuit Mafia set provides plenty of options for display ad army builders can certainly aim for a trio as a minimum and could likely go further using the masked head if they want. The only issue with that is the decision to make this exclusive and the RRP which is an eye-watering £27.99 in the UK (you may get it cheaper at specialist independents). Price aside, the set offers plenty for collectors but does really need at least one other hand to hold the Molotov Cocktail. For now, I will be sticking with just the one Bro for my Hawkeye display, but I would certainly be tempted to expand the gang if the price dropped closer to the £20 space - especially considering the basic boxed Legends Army Builders for the comic-book collectors are selling in that price bracket. Hasbro has put four new G.I. Joe Classified releases up for pre-order with a trio of Cobra reinforcements as well as a new G.I. Joe variant character. The Tele-Viper and 'Trouble-Bubble' had originally been previewed in February 2023 as a digital render. The set is now revealed in all its glory ahead of an August 2023 release. It features three heads for the Tele-Viper, a backpack, a rifle, an aerial mine, and some missiles for the Trubble-Bubble. Teased at around the same time was the Artic-Viper. The Artic-Viper has two head options and three swap-out chest pieces for army-building variances. The Viper also comes with a backpack, two weapons, and an alternative chain-saw hand. The Artic-Viper will be on shelves very soon with a June 30th release date. The 3rd Cobra addition is a Python Patrol Crimson Guard featuring backpack, four weapons, and a sheath for the included sword. As previewed at the weekend, the Big Bad Toy Store exclusive Black & White Accent Edition of Shadow of Spawn figure has opened for pre-order as of the 1st of June 2023 with a July 2023 release date. Hasbro are releasing another of their former MCU Build-a-Figures as a Deluxe Release - Gladiator Hulk from Thor: Ragnarok. This new release will include an extra 'angry' head and an additional clenched fist left hand. You also get the weapons and removable helmet as originally included with the 2017 BAF. McFarlane Toys and Warner Bros. Discovery have announced that the global licensing agreement has been renewed and will now run until 2025. The agreement has been in place since 2019 and allows McFarlane access to create action figures and statues from the Warner Bros. Discovery stable and particularly the DC Multiverse. The partnership will also continue to work within other WB properties, as seen most recently with the re-launched Movie Maniacs series. The Mezco One:12 Collective G.I. Joe Firefly figure was first previewed way back in July 2021 during a Mezco Comic-Con event. All was then quiet until February 2023 when Firefly was again previewed by Mezco as part of their Toyz Fair event. Now, Cobra's infiltration specialist finally has a confirmed release - and with it a full gallery of images of the release, along with the details of the contents. Firefly will come with three head options, alternative hands, and a tailored costume complete with a utility belt, harness, armour, and holsters. Weaponry includes a handgun, a submachine gun, and a trio of Knives. The set also includes a backpack, walkie-talkies, a computer, and some drones. Target in the US have put three new McFarlane DC Multiverse figures up for pre-order. These include the recently previewed Two-Face as Batman from Batman: Reborn, and the Knightfall Batman as seen during McFarlane's Winter Showcase. The third figure is a new reveal of Batwing from Batman Inc. who will feature fold-out wings and three blast effect pieces. All three are general releases so are not exclusive to Target, they have just gone early with the reveals. The McFarlane DC Multiverse Gold Label release of Sinestro Corps Batman as previewed in early May, is now listed on the Target website. The figure is taken from the Forever Evil storyline and features Yellow Lantern Ring Bat effect piece as well as the usual display base and collectible card. Ever since the 2018 release of the Magneto X-Men movie Marvel Legends figure I have been trying to find a way of using the included Sir Ian McKellen Magneto heads on display. Having played around with a few options I have finally settled on this kit-bashed version which looks the part for me and works reasonably well in terms of how all the parts come together and with the bonus of not needing any painting. The body is that of Kylo Ren from The Last Jedi with the head removed. The Marvel Legends Magneto head has too large a socket for the Kylo Ren neck peg - but for those who want a quick fix, I simply used some tissue in the joint to make the head fit more securely. Once fitted you can see the skin tone is a good match too. I played around with a few capes, but the one included in the Black Series Moff Gideon is the one that looked right for me, complete with the inner red lining. You could drill a socket onto the back of Kylo Ren to insert the peg of the cloak, or you can slice off the peg and glue the cape directly to the figure. And there we have it, an X-Men movie Marvel Legends Magneto from the original movie release with limited effort, and with parts that are relatively cheap and easier to obtain on the secondary market.
