McFarlane has announced another 7-inch scale DC Multiverse release from the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy. The unmasked Christian Bale Batman is based on the Hong Kong rooftop scene from The Dark Knight as Batman seeks out Lao. The figure includes Batman's explosive charge launcher, sticky charge, and backpack. You also get the usual round plastic base and collectors card. The new figure opened for pre-orders as of the 24th of January as a general release at most McFarlane Stockists. t is down as a March 2024 release. McFarlane has previewed a new DC Multiverse Gold Label exclusive set of Catwoman and the Batpod as seen in The Dark Knight Rises. The set is exclusive to the McFarlane store in the US. As well as the Batpod, Catwoman also comes with a display base and a collectors card. Pre-orders are live as of the 24th of January 2024 and the set ships in March 2024. UK collectors and those outside of the US will have to wait for details of their regional distributor (Bandai in the UK) for availability. A brand new Doctor Who 5.5-inch collector set has been revealed by Character Toys. The exclusive Fugitive Doctor and TARDIS set features Jo Martin's Fugitive Doctor from the 2020 episode 'Fugitive of the Judoon'. She comes with her blaster and a revised version of her TARDIS. Sensing something familiar, the Thirteenth Doctor discovers her own TARDIS from the long past, and when Ruth breaks the fire alarm within the lighthouse it triggers a reversal of the Chameleon Arch. Instantly the Doctor once more, she teleports herself and the Thirteenth Doctor into her TARDIS and takes off to confront the ‘Division’. The Thirteenth Doctor is hugely disturbed by the fact she cannot remember being this incarnation but recognises the truth that she undeniably had been. Now free, this no longer fugitive Doctor leaves for further adventures and would go on to meet her Thirteenth self a handful of times, as a projection of the Matrix, and then again as a holograph. Dorothy Gale (14%) from “The Wizard of Oz,” was ranked the top female movie hero on the list, famously played by Judy Garland in 1939 at just 16 years old, with other popular heroines including Wonder Woman (14%), Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen (12%), MARVEL’s Black Widow (11%), Captain Marvel (11%), and Star Wars’™ Princess Leia (11%). Of the 2,000 polled, 63% of those surveyed admit they prefer watching heroes to villains, with over half (57%) stating this is because ‘good always triumphs over evil’. According to the data, the most important traits of a fantastic movie hero include bravery (64%), loyalty (50%), strength (49%) and even a good sense of humour (36%). But whilst heroes seem to come out on top, 37% of movie lovers note they can’t resist rooting for a thoroughly evil villain over a clean-cut good guy, with the most prominent reasons for this being they’re more interesting characters (61%), they have a better back story (39%), and it’s simply more fun to root for a bad guy (27%). A fifth also stated that they’re often not as bad as you think! Attitudes, however, are changing, as demonstrated by 41% of 18–29-year-olds considering themselves collectors and a staggering 87% have purchased or would purchase related merchandise, compared to only 45% of those 60+. Those polled declared the best entertainment series to buy or collect is MARVEL (31%), followed by Star Wars (24%), James Bond (24%) and Doctor Who (16%).
