Any collector of Action Figures will know that displaying your collection is a key part of our hobby. Our displays are our showcase and while they also house our collection they play a part in maintaining it with more enclosed display options protecting our figures from dust and dirt. The most bespoke of displays are those cases that are purchased as standalone displays to house our most prized items, creating a museum-esque curated display showcasing the best our collection has to offer. iDisplayit , is a manufacturer and distributor of bespoke acrylic case solutions, marking their 10th anniversary this year after launching as a business back in 2015. The iDisplayit line is one known well to Lego collectors with cases designed and sized for specific premium Lego kits such as the Star Wars Millennium Falcon, Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Castle, or the DC ‘Shadow Box’ Batcave. iDisplayit also offers collectible cases, with items to support Hot Toys 12-inch scale figures and Hasbro’s premium roleplay items including Spengler’s Neutrino Wand from Ghostbusters, and helmets and props from Star Wars and Marvel. When selecting your iDisplayit  cases, there are a variety of size options and their website allows you to search by dimensions to find a case that will fit your figures but also into the relevant space within a larger display, on a shelf, or on top of another unit. For this look at the iDislayit offerings, we selected a couple of cases that stood 24cm tall  providing adequate height for standard 6 or 7-inch figures. The core of the cases can be purchased with either gloss black or gloss white bases depending on your preference, with some much more visual options available with printed backgrounds. These printed backgrounds offer some exciting options for action figure collectors with the Lego Razor Crest  case, as an example, having a number of alternative possibilities for a Star Wars-themed display for the Black Series. Our review is of the following two cases which were provided to us free of charge by iDisplayit 32 x 32 x 24cm Display Case (Black) £48.00 21 x 13 x 20cm Display Case (White) £25.20 The team at iDisplayit has created a unique system of flat-pack acrylic displays allowing shipping costs to be kept low. On arrival, your case is robustly packed and each surface is protected on both sides by a protective film. The sides are clipped into the base and then joined by a clear plastic clip and joining screw that connects at each vertical edge with an allen key included in every set to allow the screw to be fitted and tightened. A case can be assembled in full in a matter of minutes, and also has the added benefit of being something you can take back apart for storage or if you are ever moving your collection. The smaller 21cm x 13cm  case can easily accommodate three to four 6 or 7-inch action figures, allowing you to curate your display around a group of connected figures, or a particular scene. For any larger figures such as the new Carnage (who arrived just in time to try these cases out), you may need to pose the figure in more of a crouch - or simply find one of the iDisplayit cases with more headroom for your figure. At only 21cm wide and 13cm deep this particular case is perfect for open bookcases or wall shelving, putting your figures on full display from all angles while protecting them from dust and dirt. The larger case is very much around more impressive diorama displays or for displaying larger items from your collection. This 32cm x 32cm  case allowed me to have a full Cantina Bar display within it using the Star Wars Black Series bar diorama. It also accommodated the brand new SDCC Darth Maul and Sith Speeder - complete with packaging and the probe droid. We also tried out groups from McFarlane’s Warhammer line, Diamond Lord of the Rings, and we even got a TARDIS and a few Daleks into it from Characters Doctor Who series.  Size-wise, this particular model is almost perfect for the top of a Detolf (Ikea) unit and it will also sit on the top of a Billy, although there is a slight overhang. And having taken a closer look at these two samples, I am now exploring how I can fill up a few gaps around my display case collection with these cases to house some of the larger items I have including things like the Black Series Snowspeeder, Luke’s Landspeeder, or the Marvel Legends Surtur and Vulture.  The possibilities are almost endless with the iDisplayit catalog featuring multiple dimension options with the 24cm (action figure) height cases featuring 44 options  alone to choose from. The quality is also second to none, with perfectly machined panels that connect with ease and a clear and crisp finish to each clear panel showcasing the items within. From a practical perspective, they will still attract dust and fingerprints like any surface, but they are easy enough to clean using a static duster or by using soapy water and microfibre cloth. McFarlane's next wave of DC Digital releases will include DC's Silver Age Doctor Fate, Two-Face, and Superman. The DC Digital figures each come with the usual display base and collector card but also include a Digital Collectible via the McFarlane Digital platform. Hasbro's Marvel Legends March Fan Stream included a strong mix of Cinematic and Comic book releases as well as another Gamerverse addition. The Cinematic reveals include quite a large spoiler so leave now if you are avoiding key spoilers for The Thunderbolts* The images shared below are currently screen grabs. This article will be updated as the main press release arrives - this may not be immediate,e with several of the reveals opening for pre-order later this month and further into 2025. “I hesitated for a moment when I received Order 66 because the last thing I expected was a Jedi coup” Clone Commander Bacara’s only live-action appearance was a fleeting scene during the Order 66 sequence in Revenge of the Sith, with further character background fleshed out in a subsequent Star Wars novel. The Galactic Marines, of which Bacara was the Commander, are a key section of Clone Troopers not fully represented in the Star Wars Black Series line until Bacara’s release in the Spring of 2025. Bacara was part of the Spring 2025 Fan Channel Exclusive wave that also featured Prince Xizor and the Commando Droid. Commander Bacara is packed under the Revenge of the Sith Galaxy Collection and is figure two in that series, following on from Darth Sidious  (Palpatine) released in 2024. The ROTS figures have a deep brown colour scheme over the black base and this features on the character text and on the artwork with Bacara shown cradling his blaster against the backdrop of the city on Mygeeto where Bacara and his Galactic Marines are fighting when Order 66 is made. This city backdrop is also included in the card back sitting behind the figure in the same deep brown colouring. The text on the back of the box talks briefly about Commander Bacara’s role leading the Galactic Marines rather than the circumstances of Order 66 and what we see of him on screen. The base figure is of course, the newest Clone Trooper body, which utilised cast white gloss armour parts connected to black ridged joints. This ensures a crisp transition from armour to the black undersuit and a limited requirement for paint application with just a couple of areas overpainted in black - mainly around the knees and elbows. Over the base body, the Galactic Marine Commander gear is added as additional component parts in softer plastic. These include a chest strap with a small right-sided pauldron in purple. Rough purple markings extend down the metallic silver panel of this chest piece and onto the strap, replicating the hand-painted nature of some of the Clone Trooper armour. The kama shirt is the same as included with Rex and some of the ARC Troopers and consists of a soft goods skirt in purple attached to the main white belt and with two softer plastic cream straps extended out from the centre to either side. These curve naturally around the thigh and are not fixed in place, but simply sit in situ, allowing the skirt to move around them. Bacara’s helmet is new and uses the face plate of a Phase II Clone Trooper over which is a grey two-sided wrap covering either cheek, and a broader skirt to the side and back of the helmet in a marginally offwhite tone. The grey is too dark compared to the on screen prop and does detract from the unique helmet design. The usual black painted visor and black & grey breathing components are all painted, and Bacara also features a small extended soft plastic aerial to the left-hand side of his helmet. Unlike most of the recent Commander releases, Bacara’s helmet is not removable and is cast as one piece, and there is no unmasked head either underneath the helmet or included in the set - nor do we ever see Bacara without his helmet.  Clone Commander Bacara features both of the standard-issue Clone Trooper weapons, the DC-15S Blaster and the DC-15A Blaster Rifle. Both are cast in black plastic with a good level of sculpted/cast detail but no additional paintwork or application. Bacara was listed as using both of these weapons but is seen in Revenge of the Sith wielding the smaller DC-15S. The weapons fit into either hand, with both hands including a trigger finger option There is sufficient articulation in the arms for two-handed posing and for firing positions. Bacara features 21 points of pinless articulation all built into the sculpt and supported by flexible knee armour panels and hinged shoulder armour that move when the joints do. These all combine to give Commander Bacara an extensive range of motion with or without either weapon. The joints are all tight and secure, and once posed in a positon Bacara is perfectly stable and holds that position.  Commander Bacara was a highly anticipated addition to the Black Series prequelt collection, particularly due to his unique helmet design. Hasbro have given us a fairly faithful sculpt, but he does feel too clean, and the grey on the helmet is too dark, making it a focal point and detracting from what in essence is a very good figure. Bacara is a few shades of grey and a decent weather away from being a pretty spectacular figure, supported by a strong suite of articulation and two reasonable weapons both that are in context with his appearances in Revenge of the Sith and wider supporting material. The big question now is will we get some Galactic Marines to squad up with their Commander? "Those clankers have tough armor!" The BX Series Commando Droid was established during The Clone Wars animated series, expanding the Seperatist Forces beyond the B1 and B2 Battle Droids we had seen as live action armies in the Sequel Trilogy. The BX has recently come back into the forefront of Star Trek fans minds through the Jedi: Survivor and Star Wars: Outlaws video games. The BX Commando Droid is a Spring 2025 release into the Star Wars Black Series, part of the three-figure Fan Channel wave that also includes Prince Xizor  and Clone Commander Bacara . The Droid is a Clone Wars release, utilising the deeper yellow colour scheme on the black base of the box. Our Commando Droid is number 18 in the Galaxy Collection for The Clone Wars, sitting between the last TCW release Pre Vizsla  from 2023 and the newly arrived Savage Opress  Deluxe figure The artwork, used on the side as a connective piece to the wider TCW montage, and on the rear of the box shows a BX droid in battle in a corridor of sorts, with the corridor backdrop also incorporated into the colour coded backing card for the figure. The accompanying text on the reverse of the box simply positions these droids in terms of their attributes and their role on the battlefield rather than a particular storyline or appearance.  While having obvious similarities with other droid units, most notably the Magna Guards, the BX figure is an entirely new build that both builds on the previous droids' engineering successes and enhances those elements that perhaps had not worked as well on the B1 Droid in particular, which always suffered from stability issues. The bulk of the Commando is cast in a brown tone, with inserted rusty orange panel inset to the shoulders, arms, and legs. This is reflective of the colour scheme we see in The Clone Wars animated scenes, but also on the more ‘real world’ established ND-5 model seen in the Star Wars: Outlaws video game. The proportions of the droid are slim and athletic and accurate to either medium with the Commando Droid having little transitional changes between animation and the video game - although we are as yet to see a live-action droid in the Star Wars saga. Colour is kept to a minimum outside of the base brown and rusty orange inset joints and panels. Over this is a subtle but highly effective dry brushing of silver in selected areas. this gives the base colour a metallic look and also reflects some level of damage/paint wear where we might expect it around the feet in particular. The only other details included on the figure are a red indicator light on the chest and the split circle eyes on the head which are picked out in a bright white.  The BX comes with a socket on the rear of the torso which is the holstered position for the large Vibrosword melee weapon. In The Clone Wars these are usually depicted as a glowing energy weapon with a purple hue, so Hasbro has cast the piece in a slightly pearlescent purple plastic and then added no further decor or paint applications. The actual sculpt of the weapon is crisp and precise, but the lack of paint and the base colour choice does sit very out of place with the droid and with other weapons in the series. A preference would have been for a more metallic duller finish, with the purple paint work down the blade. The Vibrosword has a plug on one side that slots into the Droid’s back for the holstered position and it holds in this socket pretty securely unless handled excessively. The grip will then fit in one or both of our Droid’s hands if you want to display you Droid wielding the weapon. The other accessory is the BX Commando Droid’s E-5 Blaster Rifle, the weapon that originated with the original Battle Droids. This remains a strong and detailed sculpt, particularly considering the construction of the blaster with its long sights and complex barrel design. This one is cast in a dull gun-metal grey with no further colouring or weathering. It too sits in either hand with a trigger finger present on both the Droid’s hands to hold the blaster securely. There is no holstering option for this weapon, the extended plug on one side is for the B1 Battle Droid backpack and is redundant for use with the BX figure. Articulation is impressive, and where Hasbro have certainly honed the engineering of these skeletal Droids to an extent where the Commando is just as agile and extensive in its movement as the acrobatic Droids we see on screen. By my count, there are 18 points of articulation, but each one is fully accessible, and they work in conjunction with each other to get the most out of posing the droid. The legs feature a strong ankle rocker as a base and then move and rotate around the knees and the hips for a selection of stances, including the option for kneeling and sitting positions. The arms consist of a 90-degree elbow bend with wrist pivot and rotation and a large exposed ball joint shoulder that fits in with what we see on screen but also allows a full range of arm movement. The torso is impressive with three joints built into the thin, segmented waist, which combine to provide torso crunch and rotation of the upper body while never actually throwing off the flow of the exposed central section. And the head finishes the piece with the ability fo fully fold downward inot a deactivated mode, or to sit fully upright with rotation build in at the base of the neck and at the head joint. While the B1 droid, and the Magna Guard to some degree, always struggled with stability issues, every joint on the BX Commando feels robust and secure, and it stands perfectly well on its own with more dynamic poses possible with the use of a stand accessory. All in all, the BX Commando Droid is an impressive piece of design executed to a high standard with articulation that matches the requirements of the on-screen droid as an athletic and agile Droid capable of fighting at close quarters or with ranged weapons. The base colouring and subtle dry brushing give it a real-world look while also being honest to the animated origins. And the only real criticism has to be with the Vibrosword which just looks off in its overall colour choice vs. the rest of the figure and the Black Series as a whole. We know the BX Commando Droid will go on for future re-use with a Jedi: Survivor version coming later this Spring/Summer. It is almost inevitable also that Hasbro reuses most of the figure for an ND-5 from Outlaws, and this figure itself is ripe for army-building, so let’s hope its Fan Channel exclusive status still allows a relatively good volume of supply for collectors that do want to expand their Separatist forces. The new McFarlane DC Multiverse release of The Joker from The Killing Joke, as previewed first on episode 2 of The McFarlane Show, will be part of their new Covers Recreation Series. These special releases include both a figure and a diorama backdrop to re-create a specific DC comic book cover. This release was first shown as an Amazon Exclusive but after a delay of pre-orders from the 20th of February to the 31st of March, it is now listed as a Walmart US Exclusive with stocks also available on the McFarlane Store . Nacelle Toys were in attendance at Wondercon 2025 and have revealed the full line up of Wave 2 of their Star Trek 6-inch Collector line. Wave 2 will follow suit with Wave 1 and includes a number of obscure choices in terms of both characters and costumes - although the wave is headlined by a big hitter in the shape of Captain Kirk from Star Trek Generations as revealed at the end of New York Toy Fair Wave 2 will feature 10 figures and alongside Kirk are Captain Janeway from Voyager from the Year of Hell episode. From Star Trek Generations we are getting both Worf and Geordi La Forge in the holodeck Sailor uniforms. T'Pol will represent Enterprise and as seen in Season 3 and 4. Up next is Lt. Valeris from The Undiscovered Country, the Romulan Commander from the Original Series Balance of Terror episode, and Carol Marcus from The Wrath of Khan. The wave is rounded out by Nog from Deep Space 9 as seen in Favor the Bold, and the very out there choice of BEM from Star Trek: The Animated Series. Going back to Kirk, and Gizmodo have shared an exclusive look at the planned content for the Generations Captain Kirk release who will come with his horse, wood chopping accessories, and both eggs and a jar of dill weed. It was announced at SDCC 2024 that Mondo Toys were expanding into the Masters of the Universe franchise with a 6-inch line of figures in development. Roll forward to Wondercon 2025, and we have our first look at He-Man from this line as an unpainted prototype. Based on the Wondercon display, we can expect He-Man to feature alternative heads and to be armed with his battle axe, Power Sword and shield. A subsequent Mondo presentation has also confirmed some of the other 1/12 MOTU figures in the works including Skeletor, Clawful, and Man at Arms. McFarlane Toys hosted a product showcase panel at Wondercon 2025 with a raft of new figures on show as digital render images. Some of the highlights include movie figures from Batman Returns including Batman, The Penguin & robot Penguins, Catwoman, and Max Shreck. McFarlane also appear to be shifting to a Red Platinum Edition format for exclusives with several red badged figures shown as limited retailer exclusives, perhaps moving further away from the Platinum Edition format of chase variants of general release characters.
