  • DC Collectibles unveil new CW TV show figures from Flash, Supergirl, Constantine and Legends of Tomo

Next year is looking very exciting for fans of the DC CW TV shows. We've already had Arrow and Flash figures from DC Collectibles, and now Supergirl and the Legends of Tomorrow will be joining the range. These 8 announced DC figures will start arriving in February 2017 - each standing approx 6.75", just a touch shorter than the equivalent Marvel range from Diamond select. Firestorm (Legends of Tomorrow) Hawkgirl (Legends of Tomorrow) The Atom (Legends of Tomorrow) Supergirl Martian Manhunter (Supergirl) Vixen (from Arrow) Constantine Zoom (Flash)

  • Hiya Toys, Alien 1/18 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC)

For anyone unfamiliar with Hiya Toys, they are a Chinese company who will be releasing a series of 1/18 scale / 3.75" Alien figures later this year. Although the figures are very stylised and won't carry official likeness from the movies, they are based on the 1986 Aliens film with figures of Hicks and Hudson in the works as well as a Power Loader. They are also not going to be cheap, with a single 3.75" figure listed at $24.99 (£19) on Big Bad Toy Store. What has got fans excited though more than anything is this image of a prototype 1/18 scale M577 APC, again as seen in Aliens. Where as the NECA Alien range will focus on character likeness, the lure of this smaller range will be around the option to have these vehicles and larger scale diorama's. Hiya will be attending SDCC next week and we have been told we will get more details of this and "more surprises" at the show. The following gallery is a few more images of upcoming Hiya Aliens figures.

  • Another Ultimate T1000 Terminator in the works from NECA?

NECA have always said they would be returning to Terminator 2 with their Ultimate series after the current two T1 releases of the T800. It looks like we will be seeing what NECA have planned next for us at SDCC, and they've started the teases early with this image of the T1000 "Its #t2sday and you'll be seeing more of this guy next week at #sdcc #terminator #ultimate" - Randy Falk, NECA (via Twitter) On first glance it looks similar to the released T1000, but then you notice he is wearing the Police Motorbike jacket. We can only assume this will be a Motorbike Pursuit Ultimate T1000 and will come with damaged head as seen, as well as Motorbike helmetted head. We do know that NECA already have this sculpt in their locker from it's original release (see below)

  • Disney Store to launch their own Marvel Collectors series of 11 inch Action Figures

Disney stores will be launching their own Marvel Superhero Collectors series this August. Named The Ultimate Series, The 11 inch figures will boast 30 points of articulation as well as fabric clothing and interchangeable hands and accessories. The line will launch with Captain America on the 1st August, and he will be sold exclusively in Disney stores for $34.99, that will equate to about £26.91 although we suspect the UK price will sit closer to the £30 mark. Captain will come with his signature shield. No other figures are confirmed as yet, but we would expect Disney to at least hit the big 3 and bring our Iron Man and Spider-Man. It is however unlikely Disney will go deep on this, so don't expect to see a full Avengers line up for example. It will be interesting to see if Disney warrant this format a success to see if they will roll it out to the other big collectors franchise - Star Wars. Could this be the collectors line Disney go with for Rogue One rather than the Elite Diecast figures?

  • Play Arts Kai Black & White Batman SDCC exclusive

Play Arts Kai are releasing a grey scale / black and white Batman 10" figure exclusive to SDCC. The figure uses the existing PAK sculpt, but is presented in a monochrome colour scheme as well as what we assume will be special SDCC packaging. The figure will retail at $149.99 and can be bought at SDCC, or ordered in advance for home delivery from Square Enix. Products ordered for home delivery won't ship until late August. Batman will ship with alternate hands, grenade, grappling gun and baterang. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice depicts the clash of two iconic heroes in the DC Comics universe. The difference between BATMAN as opposed to Superman, who has been heralded as the hope for mankind, is rendered through the roughness of the Batsuit and cape. In addition to the flexible materials used in various parts, rolling joints have been implemented in the upper arms and thighs for a wider range of mobility, allowing for improved poseability. From recreating the likeness of his face to the texture of his body and suit, there are fine details incorporated within the simplicity, and the paintwork makes the care that was put in to the sculpting shine. Of course, we can’t forget the various signature gadgets that BATMAN carries in his arsenal. This figure exudes the image of a dark hero that stands against the light. This San Diego Comic-Con 2016 Limited Edition is rendered in grayscale, a long-requested paint variant from fans of the PLAY ARTS KAI line. The black and white coloring evokes Batman’s film noir roots, while highlighting the modernity of his dynamic design in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. If you want to secure one of these limited edition figures, avoid long lines at the show, or simply can’t make it to San Diego Comic-Con… pre-order now! Only 1000 units have been produced, so get yours before it's gone for good. Figure also includes display stand and interchangeable hand parts." Figure Size (inches): Approx. W 7” x D 5” x H 10” Release Date: August 31st, 2016
