- Store Report : Aldi, Star Wars Offers from 8th December
Aldi stores are repeating their Star Wars offer this year and as we reported a week or so ago are once again carrying the 6 inch "Hero" Star Wars figures - these are limited point-of-articulation figures. As well as the original 5 from last year - First Order Snowtrooper. First Order Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren, Darth Vader and Finn - the offer this year adds five more characters - Jedi Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Kanan Jarus, Darth Maul and Rey. Each are packed in a small window box, with some pretty nice artwork down the spine. We will be reviewing the 5 new figures later this week (bookmark us or keep an eye on our Facebook & Twitter feeds. You can see the first five reviewed here from last year. The other offer is for Rogue One boxed starships. These are quite deceiving as for £17.99 you would expect a fairly decent size - especially when this price last year got you the Rebels ships like the Phantom, Tie Fighter and the Rebels Imperial Walker. Sadly these are tiny, probably about 8 inch across, and are static with no moving parts. For £17.99 Aldi are going to struggle to shift these. Other items stashed along side these included the talking plushies, and some half decent stationery sets and what appeared to be a Stormtrooper nightlight.

- Star Wars at Aldi from 8th December 2016 - includes the 6" Hero Scale Figures
For those who aren't aware, Hasbro has a second line of 6" figures that are akin to the larger Hero scale 12" figures. They are limited articulation and paint job, and sold at a budget price. They have been sold officially in the UK once before, by Aldi last Christmas. As of the 8th of December, they will be back on the shelves at Aldi for £6.99 each. Not only are we getting back the Force Awakens mix from last year (see our review here) but we are getting the "newer" releases that have already been available in the US and Far East. This means UK collectors can get their hands on Kanan, Jedi Luke, Han Solo, Darth Maul and Rey. You can already order these online for dispatch on the 8th December. Basic delivery is free. Be warned these figures are quite basic, and are closer to 5.5" scale than 6" so most will be slightly smaller than the Black Series. The troopers though do work as background figures for a larger First Order Army Display. First Order Snowtrooper First Order Stormtrooper Kylo Ren Darth Vader Finn (Jakku) Kanan Jarrus Rey (Jakku) Darth Maul Han Solo Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight For 3.75" collectors, Aldi are also going to carry the new "basic" Star Wars ships that Hasbro have been talking about. These are apparently stripped down versions of the main range and are the Millennium Falcon. X-Wing and Tie Striker. Very little is known about these, but Aldi are listing them at about 200mm by 276mm as a box dimension - that puts them no bigger than 8" x 10.5" which is tiny for the Falcon. They will set you back £17.99 Tie Striker X-Wing Millennium Falcon
- SH Figuarts DC figures - a first look at Deadshot
Back at the Tamashii Nations 2016 event the DC SH Figuart display confirmed a Deadshot was joining the Suicide Squad figures of Harley Quinn and The Joker, but at the time he wasn't on display - only a cardboard insert was shown. Roll forward to Tokyo Comic Con and the SH Figuarts DC display included Will Smiths' Deadshot and our first look at this highly anticipated figure. No more details are known at this time, and fans who are hoping for a full set of Suicide Squad figures should beware as I doubt SHF will reach the likes of Katana or El Diablo anytime soon - after all we're still waiting for our Age of Ultron Avengers to be completed. Also in attendance were The Dark Knight Batman and Joker figures, which also look pretty impressive
- SH Figuarts Iron-Man Hall of Armor - new suits revealed?
In October, SH Figuarts confirmed they were releasing an Iron-Man Hall of Armor pod for their 1/12 range of Marvel figures. At the same time as this would hit stores a Mark 6 Iron-Man was also confirmed. At the Tokyo Comic Con there was an impressive display using these new Hall of Armour pieces, and confirmation that SH Figuarts have more Iron-Man suits on their radar. Suits from the Mark 1 through to Mark 7 were on display in the Hall of Armor - and as far as I can see this is the first confirmation that the Mk1, Mk2, Mk4, Mk5 and Mk7 are at least being planned by SH Figuarts. The question is whether these will ever make it to release, and if so in what format - many of the Iron-Man variants have been exclusives or limited runs. That puts the SH Figuarts roster of Iron-Man suits as follows Mark 1 Mark 2 Mark 3 Mark 4 Mark 5 Mark 6 Mark 7 Mark 42 Mark 43 Hulkbuster Mark 45 Mark 46
- SH Figuarts at Tokyo Comic Con - includes a first look at Padme Amidala from Attack of the Clones
Tokyo Comic Con is in full throw, and SH Figuarts have been showing off their 2017 Star Wars offerings, including a first look at a Padme Amidala from Attack of the Clones. On display in Tokyo was Padme in a Geonosis Battle Diorama with the Episode 2 Anakin and the Red Battle Droids. We also got to see A New Hope Obi Wan Kenobi and FN2187 and Han Solo from The Force Awakens. It is interesting that Rey, who was pictured alongside Finn at Tamashii Nations 2016 event, was absent from the display. For Rogue One the Death Trooper, Hover Tank Pilot and Scarif Troopers were in attendance and look fantastic. There was also a K-2SO with the display showing off this new figures articulation. None of these figures are "officially" announced so we are assuming these as 2017 releases. FIguarts have been known for showing off figures, and then releasing them very quickly - but also very slowly. We will keep you all posted as and when these are confirmed with release dates, RRP's and the official promotional shots.
