Diamond have released the promotional images of their Select Scale Hulk figure, as seen in Thor Ragnarok. He will come dressed in that Planet Hulk inspired armour, with both weapons as seen in the movie - the axe and the hammer. The image and description did worry us as the un-helmetted head shown at NYCC 2017 was not shown or mentioned. We asked DST for clarification and they have confirmed that this 2nd head is still included in the package. The figure is due by the end of this year and will retail at $25 in the US and a similar value in £'s.... £25 A Diamond Select Toys release! They're friends from work! NECA's 18" quarter-scale Doctor Strange figure is getting closer to release, and NECA have shared these images of the packaging.

McFarlane have released full details of their Stranger Things 7" scale Dustin figure. There is an accompanying image also, but this looks heavily computer generated and is titled a Paint Master rather a direct prototype. Dustin will have 12 points of articulation and comes with a compass, radio and swap out hands. He will retail in US at $19.99, expect to pay £20 here in the UK also. He should arrive in February 2018 along with the Demogorgon. We assume the Lucas figure will arrive at the same time and await details of this figure also. Tamashii Nations have released full details of their SH Figuarts 1/12 figures of Thor and Hulk from Ragnarok, as first seen at NYCC. Both figures will be Web Store exclusives for Japan, but we await to see if Bluefin will get a US option which in turn will make them more accessible for UK collectors. Hulk is priced at 14,256 Yen (£95 / $125) and ships in April 2018. He stands at least 8" high, pushing 9" with the crest of his helmet. He will come with Gladatorial Armour - none of which appears to be removable. He will be armed with the Hammer and Axe he uses in the Sakaar Arena. Thor will be sold as a basic version at 6,480 Yen (£42 / $56) and will come with his two swords. There is then a deluxe version with ligtning effects and this is priced at 8,856 Yen (£58 / $77). Both versions ship in May 2018. Thor will come with the helmetted head, which does not apper to be removable. It does however articulate at the "wings" as seen in the movie. There may be more accessories and parts when we see these go up for sale at the Tamashii Webstore.

Sponsored By Review : The Rooftop Scene (Build-a-Diorama) Ghostbusters Select (Diamond Select Toys) Wave/Series : Collect & Build from Series 1 through 5 Released : February 2016 to June 2017 One of the huge (literally) selling points for Diamond Select Toys range of Ghostbusters 7" figures was the plan to allow fans to collect parts that would eventually build the enormous rooftop scene from the 1984 movie's climax. The original plan was to spread the rooftop over 12 figures in 4 series. This was later extended to 15 figures when the extent and logistics of splitting and packing this enormous diorama was understood fully by Diamond. Starting in February 2016 with Series 1, and running to June 2017 with Series 5, UK collectors will have spend around £330* to assemble their collection and all the parts needed to build this behemoth display (* assuming an average of £22 per release). If you want to look at any of the 15 figures from the series - then head over to our Ghostbusters Select Archive where each figure is reviewed and photographed in detail. For anyone wondering if they could drop a figure and still build the diorama - then the only real choice is by not getting the Terror Dog. Doing this would mean you don't get the Lenticular back drop. You could also technically drop the Library Ghost and Slimed Peter - that would mean you would be missing the Terror Dog statues and two of the four pillars. Assembly With all 15 parts assembled, you will need about 20 minutes or so t work out what goes where and assemble it fully. A large flat surface will help as some parts need a bit of pressure to get them clipped together. Our instructions below follow the same instructions packed with the diorama (Series 5) but are obviously more visual. If you do need the official instructions then click here. 1-2 We start with the two triangular side parts (Louis & Ray) and we clip in the pillars. 3-4 Then we take the two front sections (Dana & Walter Peck) and push the additional two pillars (Library Ghost & Slimed Peter) into these. 5-6 Taking the two larger step pieces with plinths either side (Janine & Peter) these slot together at the centre with corresponding clips underneath. This joint will take a bit of pressure to get locked in. 7-8 We start with the tall side panels of the gateway here - taking the pieces from Slimer (with the hole for his stand) and Janine and sliding the Slimer piece into the Janine section until it locks. The eagles head piece is then slotted to the top section. 9-10 The same is repeated for the opposite side of the gateway using the parts from Gozer and Quittin' Time Ray. 11 This will leave you with two large side panels ready to go 12-15 the top section of the Gateway comes with the Zombie Taxi Driver. Take the two large pieces and align the rails from the right hand piece into the slots on the left hand piece. Push the two together. Once in place the Green Man panel is slotted over the top and hides the joint. 16-17 with the main parts now assembled we start the final construction. The first job is to tale the two front pieces (Step 4), complete with pillars and clip them together at the centre. 18-19 we then take the inner steps (from Step 6) and clip these into corresponding slots on this front piece. This is another piece where a solid base is needed to allow a bit of pressure to be applied to clip these in place. There will be a bit of trial and error here to get this lined up as you can't quite see the under section to confirm the right pieces are lining up. 20-23 The two side pieces (Stage 2) are now clipped into the sides of this main piece of rooftop. These are via shaped plugs on the triangular side piece that slot into corresponding sections on the main rooftop. You will need to lift the larger piece over and down onto the corner to get the connection. Repeat so both sides are done. (This is as wide as the diorama gets - and by now you get an idea of how big this thing is going to be) 24-25 There are two more step pieces that came with Dana and Walter Peck. These have pegs on the front that slot into corresponding holes on the main base. 26-27 One set of steps comes with Series 2 Peter and these go right at the back of the diorama. Four rails on the base of these steps line up with the four grooves on this back section. We then take the final altar steps (Winston) and you can see right in the middle of the display a section with four plug holes exposes. The steps from Winston go into these - again a bit of trial and error is needed to line them up. 28-29 The final altar (Winston) has four posts on its base that line up to four holes on the steps we've just added. This pushes down and clips in place right in the centre of the diorama. 30-31 We then take the two side pieces (Stage 11) and you will find two posts and a larger rectangular peg on the base of these. They line up and slot into the base at either side of the rear steps. 32-35 The larger top rail (Stage 15) is now required to complete the constructional build. There top piece sits behind the two uprights and snaps into place. 36-39 You should be left with the two Terror Dog statues (Library Ghost and Slimed Peter). These sit on the two side plinths. There is no plug or connection - but the Dogs are of a weight that they won't go anywhere once in place. 40-41 The final addition is optional as you can choose to have your diorama as it is or you can add the Lenticular panel (Terror Dog). If you do want to add the background then you will need to remove the final steps at the back of the diorama. You will also need the clips that came with the Zombie Taxi Driver and these go into the holes down each side of the panel and clip over on themselves so the larger piece is out to the side. These then hook over the lugs on the back of the frame. It will be easier to remove the upper top rail for this, and it will take a bit of patience to hook the pieces in place and then get the top rail back in situ. 42-43 Once in place the back scene, being Lenticular, does look particularly awesome and has a sheen and some movement as you look at it. Your rooftop scene is now completed. Don't forget the feature on the right hand side of the gateway - here you can insert part of Slimer's stand and have him floating around your rooftop. The Finished Article Your Rooftop Diorama is now complete, and it is here the piece finally comes to life as you begin to add your 7" figures and play out the various scenes from the movie - and perhaps a few of your own For those with more practical thoughts as to "where is this going to go" then the dimensions of the rooftop are as follows. Dimensions Width : 87cm Depth : 48cm Height : 40cm The set isn't designed with any other configurations for perhaps a smaller display - but am sure you could leave off the side panels and the gateway and just have a rooftop - either or Ghostbusters, or perhaps for a nice Superhero display. It will also work for 6" Mattel Ghostbusters figures and even looks OK when the smaler Playmobil figures are put onto it. Concerns I had raised through the collecting of the figures were the consistency of the paint and finish of the rooftop and how sturdy it would be considering the plastic is the hard styrene. Neither of these are actually a problem. The paint and finish is consistent and not one piece stands out as being a differing shade. There wasn't even a sniff of a fragile part as the roof was assembled, and once built is solid and well engineered - the only niggle being the way the backdrop connects as the clips are quite a bit larger than the pegs. Is it worth it? Well not if you discard the figures and essentially paid £330 for this piece. As a complete collection it is a nice reward for sticking with the series and provides a good display piece for some of the figures - putting them all on might be excessive and be too crowded. Looking now at this finished article I am glad I stuck with the series - even when I had wobbles over whether to pay out for reused figures like Quittin' Time Ray and Slimed Peter. Considering a lot of 6-7" figures retail at £25 nowadays, the fact that the Select figures come with such a big bonus is pleasing and you won't be disappointed once you've assembled all the parts and put it together. Mezco have released full details of their One:12 Collective Michael Myers from Halloween. Michael will come with a soft goods boiler suit, sculpted head and Halloween mask (this was actually a Captain Kirk mask purchased by the prop team and painted) and four sets of hands. Accessories include a Grave Stone, soft goods Ghost Sheet, the iconic knife (one clean and one bloody) and a carved Pumpkin with light up feature. There is also the usual decorative stand with Halloween movie logo. The figure can be pre-ordered now for collectors in the US, with the release date between June and August 2018. The US RRP is $80 and UK customers can expect a £70-£80 price tag once the UK retailers commence their own pre-orders. In October 1978 a new film called Halloween introduced the world to seemingly unstoppable masked killer Michael Myers and launched a franchise that would span five decades. As our Halloween Celebrations have been very much Ghostbusters related, Isaac Gamer TV has taken the opportuntity to do a video looking at the Mattel 6" Ghostbusters that are currently on sale across the UK in Home Bargains, Poundworld Plus and Pound Stretcher. Sponsored by Review : Terror Dog Ghostbusters Select (Diamond Select Toys) Wave/Series : Series 5 Released : June 2017 £24.99 Pros : lots of articulation, including an opening jaw Cons : poor choice of packaging layout Forget Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, for me one of the best monster designs from the 1984 Ghostbusters movie was the Terror Dogs. Granted they ended up doing very little after capturing Louis and Dana - but there look was certainly ahead of its time, even if the stop motion animation now looks a little dated. While the choice was there for Diamond Select to produce two of these in their Ghostbusters Series - they stuck to just one in the 5th and final Series of the Rooftop Diorama Build series of figures. We will review it here. While the packaging remains the same for the Terror Dog and carries the same logos and eerie green backdrop, the blister layout and the positioning of the figure is about the strangest I've seen in any figure line. The Dog itself is pointed at a 45 degree angle and is wrapped around a giant green tube down the middle of the packaging. Not only does this not show off the figure at all in the pack, it also makes it look as though the dog is doing something else!! The triangular name card goes with "Terror Dog" and from the image it is unclear if they have used an image of Zuul or Vinz Clortho. To the side of the pack we get a larger image of the Terror Dog and it appears now to be Vinz Clortho (The Keymaster) who is pictured here. Round the back we get an interesting bio that talks about how Gozer was banished by Tiamat and how Gozer now travels from world to world with his two servants, Zuul the Gatekeeper and Vinz Clortho the Keymaster. To the side of this we have an image of the figure. In the also available we see the other two figures in Series 5 - The Taxi Driver Zombie and Library Ghost. Once the blister is open there is a singular tray into which is tied the Terror Dog with the twisty-ties. Between the four legs sits this giant green box/tube. When you are unpacking make sure you don't discard the alternative horns that sit at the very top left of the tray. If you need it, there is an instructon leaflet on building the Rooftop Diorama and promotional brochure behind the figure. Sculpturally, the Gentle Giant team had done a superb job of getting the proportion and look of a Terror Dog. There is some sacrificing of looks to include a full suite of articulation. The head is impressive and has bright red eyes along with that curved jowl and the mouth full of vicious looking teeth. The paint job is mainly a grey tone with a hint of brown, and onto this there are touches of lighter dry-brushing. It gives the Terror Dog's skin a texture and tone similar to an Elephant or a Rhino. Other painted details include the bone horns - both the larger front set and then the smaller horns that surround the head. These bonus have a brown wash over the top to darken them. Sadly, some of the smaller horns have too much brown wash applied and they look more dirty than like bone. The same effect is used on the claws on each of the four feet, and thankfully these have been less robustly washed. The same goes for the teeth which sit inside a pink fleshy mouth which is then also washed in a darker red. Articulation has not been spared on the Terror Dog and he comes with 18 points of articulation. We start with the mouth which is hinged at the jaw allowing the mouth to open in a roar or remain closed - or anywhere in between. Opening the mouth does reveal the joint which some collectors may find unsightly. The body is then articulated at the head, this means the Terror Dog can look up and down and rotate and tilt to either side. There is then a neck joint which also rotates as well as being able to slide up and down the body. This means that the head can also be bowed or point up to howl at the sky. There is a third body joint about midway down between the fore and hind legs. This is a ball joint so it rotates and can move up and down to allow the dog to stand taller at the back end if required. The rear legs themselves have ankle rockers, a joint midway up the calf, a knee joint and a hip joint. The front legs have the ankle, knee and hip versions. All of this makes the Dog easy to stand and with a variety of posing. As I stated when we began - Diamond could have followed the same route taken by NECA a few years ago and released two Terror Dogs one for Vinz Clortho and one for Zuul. This would have been a cost saver for them and removed the need for one of the other figures in the 15 figure series. Instead Diamond have gone for swap out horns. This will allow you to have your Terror Dog represent either version we see in the movie. The longer horns, that come assembled on the figure in the pack, are for Vinz Clortho the keymaster. These pop out easily and can be replaced by the shorter versions that represent Zuul, the Gatekeeper.Now while I am pleased Diamond resisted the temptation to produce two versions - it does add another issue. With these packed three separate figures per case it will off-balance the Series. If people do start picking up two versions then we will have leftover Ghosts/Zombies OR a shortage in Terror Dogs. Remember that green box tube thing that was sat so prominently in the packaging. This contains a rolled up vinyl sheet onto which is a lenticular image of the Gozerian Temple. There are holes down either side of this and when you build your diorama you will use the clips that came with the Zombie Taxi Driver to clip this backdrop to the overall diorama. Arguably, this figure could the one figure you don't actually need to get out of the whole series as the backdrop can be excluded with no detriment to the overall physical build. As a big fan of the Terror Dog I may be a touch bias in this review. The figure is well sculpted and well painted, with the sole issue of having the smaller horns washed too heavy handedly. Articulation is good, and almost too much and it takes a while to align all the legs into a good pose. I love the mouth articulation and the swap out horns - and this means one figure can be changed to differing looks on the same display. For in box collectors, then I offer my condolences at such an odd placement of the diorama backdrop. I score the Terror Dog a 4 out of 5. The steering wheel works well considering this guy is seen on screen driving a taxi Cons : The Taxi Ghost is almost impossible to stand without assistance - i.e. a stand of sorts If you have read our Library Ghost review, you will already be aware that the initial plan for the Ghostbusters Select line was for Diamond to do the entire rooftop diorama in 12 pieces. This was soon expanded to 15 when the logistics were worked out - and based on the figures we knew about prior to this decision, it seems the Library Ghost and the Taxi Driver Zombie were potentially two of the three figures added at the later stage to increase the series to 15 figures. The Taxi Driver Zombie arrives in the standard oversized Select packaging with wrap around spine and name card. The card back design, starting with a black base and transitioning through to an eerie green, has been consistent through all 5 series to date and will make for an awesome MIB collection. While many refered to this as the Taxi Ghost (I have been calling him this too) the name card confirms him as the Taxi Driver Zombie. The side art of the figure shows the Zombie from the movie and sat as he appears behind the wheel of his New York Taxi. On the card back we get a bit of a bio about the Zombie and even here it states he is actually a "Ghost" rather than an "actual zombified human" and explains that he most likely escaped from the Ghostbusters containment unit when it was shut down by Walter Peck. A very nice image of the Zombie figure sits to the side of this bio and beneath that an image of the rooftop diorama. In the also available box we get a head shot of the Terror Dog and the Library Ghost. Out of the box and we get the Zombie offset to the right of the insert, strapped in by wire ties. To the side of his head sits a Steering Wheel accessory, and next to this again is a panel from the rooftop diorama that seems to be decorated with a Green Man design. Beneath this tray we get a further two pieces of the diorama This is one of the better zombie sculpts I have seen in figure form with the guys at Gentle Giant capturing the look of the Taxi Zombie in all his flesh rotting glory. There is a clear human shaped and defined skull under there, with scraps of flesh and muscle applied over the top. He even gets a slightly wonky and unsettling grin with crooked and broken teeth. All of this is painted in shades of rotting brown with a darker tone as the base and then dry brushed bone colouring on top. The most impressive part of the head are his eyes which glare out menacingly from sunken eye sockets - a red hint in each pupil. His hat is a flat black and from the back of the head is a shock of dark hair. Neither of these have any extra paint applications other than the base black colour. In the movie we only really got to see the head and shoulders of the Taxi Zombie as he turned to face his fare, That means there will be an element of artistic licence in the body sculpt. It is made up of a white ripped shirt over which is a ripped jacket. The shirt is sculpted open at the chest so more of the bones and skeleton can be seen here and again on a rip in the arm of the jacket. The jacket is grey in tone and has some weathering applied. While the shirt is not quite bright white, it is potentially too bright for a Zombie who we are led to believe has just manifested direct from the grave. The trousers are painted a flat blue and have similar tears and rips as the rest of the outfit. The two trouser legs are ripped and ragged with a bony leg protruding from each. His right foot is clad in a black shoe with the sole ripped and the toes exposed. The left foot is simply a bone foot. I am going to start at the feet with articulation and let you know that this figure is extremely difficult to stand. There are a combination of factors at play including some floppy ankle joints and similarly floppy hips. These, coupled with the need for a wide stance and that tiny left foot which offers no balance, means he is not the most stable and even if you get him stood up the joints will slide and overbalance him over time. As you will see from the images we had to drop him onto a Protech stand for our images - and that still didn't keep him upright for long. I suspect for longer term display a waist type clip stand will be required. The legs are articulated fully with double jointed knees - and these are a lot stiffer than the hips and ankles. There is also a thigh swivel, but this adds no real value. There is no torso joint, but there is a rotating waist that moves quite a way round. The arms are ball jointed shoulders with rotating elbows and a pegged rotating hand. The head is ball jointed but pops off with the least movement. Being a zombie this may be intentional - especially when you see the ball joint underneath is painted and decorated like the rest of the bony body. If this is a deliberate feature I would have expected the packaging and promotional blurb to say as much. Artistic licence has also been taken with the Zombie's accessory. In the movie he is obviously only seen driving his Taxi. The figure appears to go beyond the movie to suggest he can and did leave the Taxi at some point, even taking the steering wheel with him. I don't know much about New York Cabs of the 1980's but the wheel accessory certainly seems to be reasonably accurate. It is made up of a larger steering wheel in black with ribbed grip and a smaller sub wheel in silver. These both sit on a central hub with shift sticks either side. The hub is sheared off as though ripped out of the cab. The colouring is simply either black or silver - but is applied neatly. The steering wheel fits well in the hands of the Zombie and he can shuffle around looking like he has just pulled this out of his cab. The Zombie comes with three parts of the rooftop diorama. The smallest is the Green Man inspired panel which is packed alongside the figure. There are then two larger pieces. All three pieces will eventually connect to make up the roof of the doorway on the rooftop. They are all cast in that hard styrene plastic and are painted grey with a hint of weathering. Watch out in the pack for the instructions on how to build the rooftop - this is included in each of the Series 5 figures. Make sure you also find and keep safe the little baggie of white clips. These are ONLY included in the Zombie and you need these to affix the screen which you will get in the Terror Dog pack. Not sure why they aren't packed together? On looks and execution of a sculpt, there is little to fault with the Taxi Driver Zombie. He looks brilliant and the sculpt is matched with a decent paint job. While not 100% screen accurate, I do like the steering wheel accessory and can just imagine seeing him walking New York after the end of the movie with steering wheel still in hand. The issue with him is stability and considering the whole body was open to interpretation it seems an odd choice to give him such a small skeletal left foot - or at the very least include a stand to keep him upright. The stability issue can be rectified and I would recommend looking for a Kaiser type stand to clip around his waist. With that in mind I am happy to only penalise one point and award the Taxi Driver Zombie a 4 out of 5. Checkout the Diamond Select figures available at Toys in the Attic
