The 6 inch Captain Marvel Legends figures have come back online at Amazon.com and therefore we now have much clearer images of the four new figures as well as some blurb to accompany each figure. The improved images do make these figures look much more impressive. The blurb also confirms the Starforce figure as "Starforce Commander". I would imagine this body may get some re-uses. The figures can be pre-ordered now via Amazon US for $19.99 and they will be dispatched as of the 1st of January 2019. UK collectors can also order via the International Shipping process and you will be paying around £24 a figure including custom charges and delivery. Amazon do not charge until the item is dispatched, and if the price drops between then and now you pay the lowest price. Captain Marvel Higher, further, faster! Welcome to our review of the brand new McFarlane Star Trek Captain Jean Luc Picard action figure. It is always exciting to start the archive of a brand new line and this review marks the first of what we hope will be a long running series of Trek figures from McFarlane. Packaging 3/5 When McFarlane returned to making 7 inch scale figures they initially went with a window box design, in line with other players in the market like Hasbro and NECA. They've since moved to a blister card type packaging with their Stranger Things releases - and that has been carried through to the Star trek figures. The design is crisp with a colour strip, red in this case, which seems to indicate from what part of the Star Trek franchise the figure is from. We then have a generic logo, a small image of the character - illustrated rather than a still - and then a blue card back onto which the blister is placed. On the reverse is a repeat of the Trek logo and then images of both Kirk and Picard, the two figures in this first "wave". Under this is a further image of role play phaser and some images which confirm Michael Burnham (Discovery) and Spock (Original Series) as the next two figures. As these images are character illustrations - and having not seen any prototypes, these are going to be 2019 at the earliest. Unlike most other figures of this type and size, McFarlane have not added any bio or background text to the cardback. While I like the art and colouring, I do wish these were boxed packages so that they could show off the figure much more and allow collectors to return the figure to the box if they wish. It is impossible to remove the blister without destroying the card. The figure is sat in an inner tray and strapped in with a waist strap that is very securely fixed. I ended up having to snip it to free Picard. Everything else is taped into place. Sculpt and Paint 4/5 Out of the box and the figure is certainly a hefty piece with a good weight to it. The head sculpt is obviously Patrick Stewart, and yet there is something off about it from a lot of angles. Having studied it for a while I think the head is slightly too thin and the nose too long which throws off it being a spot on likeness. That being said there are some nice tones on the skin of the head and the eyes, lips and hair are all well painted. The body is obviously sculpted in the Next Generation era Captains uniform with a good material texture to the clothing. The paint is neat but the red is a touch patchy in places close up - the red is painted over the base plastic which is black. Details are crisp like the Federation comms badge which is painted intricately in gold and silver with black edgings. Picard also gets his four Captain's pips on the collar. Articulation 3/5 For a McFarlane release, the Picard figure is pretty mobile with 14 points of articulation. The joints are tight and move pretty well straight out of the box. Starting with the head and this sits on a ball joint for rotation and angling up and down. This does give the figure a very harsh rear line but it allows for a few of Picard's head tilts. The arms are ball jointed shoulders and there is a single rotating elbow that bends to 90 degrees on both arms. The hands are ball jointed, but only really rotate in the sleeve. Picard comes with two right hand options and these pop on and off via a very tiny ball joint that sits into the wrist joint. This engineering makes the hand very hard to swap in and out and I suspect there will be a lot of broken joints. A plug in option would have been better as the wrist has very little movement anyway. The legs are a little ugly, using the T-joint hip that Diamond use on their Select figures. In a neutral stance the joint is not noticeable against the black of the uniform, but once it moves even a few millimetres it is very unsightly. The hip is followed by a knee joint that rotates to turn the feet out if needed. The knees bend enough to work Picard into a seated pose with those hips - that is good news for any future plans for a Captains Chair. In our images below we've used Diamond's Reliant Chair (from Khan) to see how Picard sits. The final leg joint is int he ankle. it is not so much a rocker but more a ball joint with enough movement to ensure the soles of the feet are always flat to the ground. While all these joints do give us some basic posing, they don't allow the figure to capture the mannerisms of Picard - least of all the inability to do the "make it so" pose which would need double jointed elbows and a pointing finger Accessories 4/5 There are two accessories packed with Picard, and the first of these is a slightly odd choice in being the Ressikan flute that Picard picked up in "The Inner Light". It would only appear in a couple of other episodes including "A fistful of Data's" but would be displayed on Picards desk in the episode "Lessons" and again in the movie Nemesis. While an odd choice, the flute is pretty well made with holes down its length, a shaped mouthpiece and a wrapped string with tassels. The colouring is off as the prop was more a wooden colour, and this one is a bright gold. It fits into the smaller of the two gripping right hands, but without the arm movement it can simply be held and not posed as though it is being or has just been played. Accessory two is the more relative phaser which is a neat sculpt and one I suspect we will see over and over again if more TNG figures make their way into the line. This is cast in grey with silver and black painted details. It fits into the second right hand with the wider grip and thanks to the way that hand is designed it slots into a firing pose. The articulation supports this firing position and you can get Picard into a number of shooting poses with the phaser. Like a lot of McFarlane figures, the Trek figures also come with a stand. This is a black plastic cast piece which is glossy and smooth and has the Trek logo set into it in a gloss finish. There is one peg hole that corresponds to the hole in Picards left foot. Once in place the fit is snug and the stand does enhance the figure making it look a little more high end. Summary As a debut figure for the McFarlane Trek line, this is a pretty decent Captain Picard figure for a price tag of sub £20. While the face might be off, it is as good as any other Picard figure we've had in the Diamond line and has the advantage over Diamond with the paint job which is more realistic. Articulation was always going to be basic. It is just a shame that the design didn't factor in the poses we'd want Picard in and maybe sneak a double jointed elbow? Accessories are neat and well made, even if the flute might be a strange choice over more seen items like a cup of Tea, Earl Grey, Hot... I also like the packaging colour scheme, but not the choice of a blister card and would prefer the box type seen on other ranges in the Colortop series. I score Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise a satisfactory 3/5.

After seeing the first stills last week, and the first figures yesterday, the Captain Marvel hype goes up another notch with the release of the first trailer for the movie which is due to release in March 2019 Enjoy....

Diamond Select Toys have shared the first official images of their 7 inch scale Infinity War figures, with a release date of December 2018 as it stands. The figures were first shown at SDCC 2018, but there has been some "changes" since the July event. Up first is Captain America. He was shown at SDCC with rolled up sleeves, as per his look in Infinity War. This now seems to have changed which means most of the body is a re-use of the Civil War version with just a new chest piece where the star has been ripped off. On the plus side the facial sculpt looks better here and it is good to see he has two Wakandan shields. There is even a folded down Shield option and Cap is the only figure to get a diorama stand - a piece of what we assume is Wakandan soil. Original SDCC Image We then have Spider-Man in his Iron-Spider suit. While the positives are the four mechanical arms, the suit itself looks a little bland and there are lining details missing - the same issue as we had with Homecoming Spider-Man. The most impressive are Thor and Teenage Groot. Both of these look fantastic, with an exceptional looking head sculpt for Chris Hemsworth complete with scar. Groot also looks good in terms of a deep and rich paint job. The three sets should come in around $25 / #25. The following images have turned up online of what appears to be the first Marvel Legends 6 inch figures from the 2019 Captain Marvel movie. They were shared briefly on Amazon indicating these can't be too far off store shelves? The four MCU figures are Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, Skrull leader Talos, Agent Nick Fury and what is either Mar-vell or another Star Force member. There will be three other figures on the wave, we would guess these will be comic book based - maybe some we've seen already like Living Laser or Nighthawk As speculated, the BAF looks to be the Kree Sentry we saw revealed alongside Living Laser and Nighthawk at Unboxing Toy Con. We await confirmation and further details

The following image reveals the four piece BAF from the upcoming Aquaman wave of Mattel 6 inch Multiverse figures. The wave has four figures of Aquaman, Mera, Orm and Black Manta. The BAF is what we assume is the Trench Creatures quoted in other listings.

Beware minor spoilers on the Amazon listing page and repeated further down under our gallery Amazon have put up their listing for their exclusive Vulko figure from the upcoming DC Aquaman movie. The figure is made by Mattel as part of their Multiverse 6" series and will be available only through Amazon. It releases on the 14th December and pre-orders can be placed now, but only for US customers sadly. The listing indicates the figure contains a Build-a-Figure piece which combines with other pieces to make a Trench creature. If Vulko has one part and is only available via Amazon US then that will make the BAF a very difficult piece to complete. Mattel may however have a variant BAF piece in with Vulko, something they have done in the past with other exclusives. Vulko is played by Willem Dafoe and the facial likeness to the actor looks pretty good on these glamour shots. He comes with a sword and what appears to be a map of some sort - we will have to wait for the movie to find out where this all fits in. New images have circulated for the Star Wars Black Series 6" Bespin Escape Leia. The figure will be exclusive to Target stores in the US.

Diamond also revealed the packaging for their X-Men Beast Select figure and Mezco showed off their New York Comic Con Exclusive Doctor Strange. Away from the Disney properties, and NECA had a couple of reveals including packaging for the next Friday the 13th release and some nice looking Predator figures revealed at the movie launch. Welcome to our review of Nakia, part of the Black Panther wave of Marvel Legends figures released in early 2018. We breakdown the figure and look at the sculpt, paint, articulation and accessories before delivering our usual rating out of 5. Packaging 4/5 The Marvel Legend packaging is pretty recogniseable now with its wide figure window and scooped sides. The variation in each release is done via logos and colour schemes and for me the Black Panther releases are some of the most visual to date. There is an electric blue theme that runs around the BAF logo at the top to the character name at the bottom. This continues into the side art which is an image of Nakia in blue tones with just a touch of golden light bathing the side of her head. This rich gold is then used on the backing card behind the figure - and as you take this from the box you will see more clearly a large panther head logo built into the cardback. The rear of the box doesn't paint Nakia in too good a light as the image used has a bit of an odd look created by the way the light and shadows fall on her face. Beneath this is the Build-a-Figure checklist. The Panther wave has Okoye as a BAF and the checklist confirms the 5 figures you will need to build Okoye - with her torso and spear coming with Nakia. "A member of the Dora Milaje, Nakia protects the reigning Black Panther with strength and poise" Sculpt & Painting 5/5 Nakia has a face print technology head which gives an exceptional likeness to Lupita Nyong'o. The skin tone is excellent and the eyes extremely realistic. The head even sports sculpted earrings on both ears which have a defined pattern and a re painted a pewter colour. Only the hairline slightly spoils the head sculpt as there is a slight gap where the hair piece (a separate piece to the head) is affixed. The outfit is as intricate as the head detailing with a huge amount of patterning in each section. While a lot of the costume is left as the red base plastic, this patterning stops it looking dull. Other areas then have a gold dry brush to further draw out the pattern which is also trimmed in black and orange stitching patterns. The neck collars, wrist armour and shoulder armour is painted silver as is the panther emblem on the belt. The legs are plain brown and may have benefited from a wash. The boots are plain black. Articulation 3/5 Nakia is designed with what is becoming a fairly standard suite of articulated options for female figures. 16 points of articulation is "ok" but it is still 2 or 3 short of what we see on the male characters like Black Panther and Killmonger in the same wave. Leg articulation is spot on with all the movement you would need from double jointed knees supported by a thigh swivel, ankle rocker and ball joint hips - even the skirt section doesn't pose to much of an issue when the legs are being posed. The torso gets a ball joint just under the bust, and this does work well and is less intrusive than the T-Joint we see on a lot of the male figures. The head too is a ball joint and thanks to the thinner neck and pivot on the peg the head is wide ranging in its articulation. The issue is in the arms where the double jointed elbows have been dropped in favour of a single rotating elbow. The trouble with this is that it only bends to 90 degrees, so there is some restriction on arm posing - in particular the Wakanda Forever arms crossed pose, the one Nakia herself sported in one of the movie posters. The rest of the arms work well enough with ball jointed shoulders and pivot wrists - it is just a shame that this one joint restricts the arms a little too much Accessories 4/5 Nakia is armed with the two ring blades that she uses in the climax of the movie. These are cast in a softer plastic but aren't warped or misshapen like some other more recent pack-ins. They are cast in a grey metallic plastic with a load of symbols sculpted around the blades. It is a shame that a wash wasn't applied in dark grey or black to bring out these etchings. It is also a shame that the plastic was not painted to be more silver, perhaps with a silver dry brush - the blades do look dull. The blades fit into either hand and supported by the articulation there are a wealth of action stances possible with Nakia Summary Nakia is a gorgeous looking figure and reflects the richness and depth of costuming and vibrant colours we saw in Black Panther. The likeness on the face print is excellent and the paint well applied. Articulation is standard for a female character but we continue to wish that those elbows could be double jointed to extend the posing options. Accessories are OK but are a bit dull and the sculptural detailing is lost without another layer of paint. And for boxed collectors I love the vibrant contrasting blue and gold colourings around that sleek black packaging. I score Nakia from Black Panther and impressive 4 out of 5.

NECA were present at the 2018 Reebok Predator Movie launch and had a couple of new figures to tease us with. The Fugitive Predator is already in stores, but there is a second Thermal Image version heading for retail. The card alongside this figure listed retailers like FYE, Target and Amazon - this is likely more the key retailers picking this up in the absence of Toys R Us and not any kind of exclusivity - but we await more details. The second figure is then the larger Assassin Predator, as seen in the trailer. This figure is huge and dwarfs the normal scaled Predators. Again we await more details on this figure and its release date.

Medicom's MAFEX Infinity War Spider-Man in the Iron Spider suit is due for release in April 2019. As well as the articulated spider arm backpack, the web effect and the magnetic hands and feet for wall crawling - it has now been announced that the set will include an unmasked Tom Holland head sculpt.
