"Everybody can relax, I found a car!" The HasLab ECTO-1 project was the first, and currently the only, project for Hasbro’s 6-inch Plasma Series Ghostbusters line. The line itself launched in 2020 with a full wave from the original 1984 movie and a Terror Dog build-a-figure. Since then, we have only had a second wave from Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a repainted Slimed Wave , and a couple of two-packs with the SDCC Louis Tully set and the Afterlife Family that Busts Together set  featuring Spirit Egon. The HasLab project would be, as is stated in the HasLab principles, the biggest and most expensive set in the Plasma Series, bringing collectors a properly scaled ECTO-1 but also with an add on option to be able to convert the Cadillac to the ECTO-1A from Ghostbusters 2.  The HasLab project also expanded the Ghostbusters figure line into Ghostbusters 2 with the release of the grey-suited team and a kitted-up Louis Tully. The set also saw the very long-awaited debut of Slimer as well as the iconic Library Ghost. Backing for the HasLab ECTO-1 began in October 2024, and the sets were shipped and delivered in the UK in December 2025, just in time for Christmas. You could purchase two versions of the project, a base version and a deluxe version. Each version is boxed separately with a larger grey box containing the base version of ECTO-1, Slimer, Louis and the Library Ghost. The deluxe components are then supplied in a smaller red box, so if you purchased the larger set, you get these two bundled together. Either project is then wrapped with an outer sleeve across the middle of the packaging that details the entire contents of the project.  We purchased the Deluxe Set, which of the two options presented the best value for money. We did only back the one set, but over the course of this review (for Ghostbusters) and part 2 (which will cover Ghostbusters 2), we will look at both vehicle options.  The outer boxes are beautifully designed and feature both a base design principle of a rolling tool case, one stacked on top of the other. Across the base decor, we then have a selection of stickers, each paying homage to the original movie and the sequel. For the main box, we have references to the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Ivan Shandor's building, the New York Public Library and even a handwritten list of car parts, along with a parking violation and what looks like a Polaroid of the car. In this Part 1 review, we will focus on the contents that are taken from the original Ghostbusters movie in 1984, so are opening the main box only, Inside the main box we find a large inner cardboard tray that holds the full vehicle, including the roof and light assembly for ECTO-1. Sitting within this larger cardboard lining, we also have the Slimer figure in a plastic tray with a couple of car parts. Where the bonnet of ECTO-1 sits, the gap above is filled with a second, smaller box inside which are three plastic trays containing more car parts & accessories, but also the Library Ghost, the Gurney for the Proton Packs, and Louis Tully - but more on him when we reach Part 2 for GB2. Inside the box, we also find the instruction pack (which covers both versions of the project) and a sticker sheet for ECTO-1. The car itself is in a large plastic bag and comes in a part ready state, including the roof pre-fitted and the freewheeling wheels in situ. The instructions are reasonably clear on how to attach the remaining parts, which include the wiper blades, wing mirrors, components for the roof, and the aerials that sit on the passenger side front and rear drivers side. The rear lights covers need to be fitted, and on ECTO-1, you will be left with one unused socket on the reverse side for which there is a socket cover included in white. When installed, this sits proud of the surface, so it is not very discreet.  "Needs some suspension work and shocks and brakes, brake pads, linings, steering box, transmission, rear end... maybe new rings, also mufflers, a little wiring". Nearly all of these parts fit snugly and securely. The only one I had trouble with was the wing mirror on the passenger (left) side, which wants to pop off at every opportunity. The two large ‘whip’ aerials that fit front and back are made of metal and flexible, finishing with a rounded section at each end. While not a hook as such, this endpoint will allow them to be bent and tucked under the roof constructs to replicate the look from the film. There are also a couple of internal fittings, such as the CB radio for the front of the car’s interior, and a phone for the rear seating.  The roof components include a radar dish, aerial, and the two-pronged ‘cannon’, with each of these sitting into a secure slot. Running from the side of the upper roof section is a blue pipe that is designed to sit in a slot on the car body. Like the Wing Mirror, the fit here is not perfect, and this piece is also popping out indiscriminately. On the other side, a short ladder clips into place and hangs down over the car body. This one will also come off if the vehicle is excessively handled, but more so to protect it and stopping it from being snapped rather than being ill-fitted.  Assembly (which will already be into an hour or so at this point) then moves to sticker application. Hasbro designed this car to be used as ECTO-1 or ECTO-1A with the Deluxe box. That means the stickers would have to be changed if you alternated between the vehicles. More on this later. All of the ECTO-1 stickers are provided in the main box and on a single sheet. There are 11 in total, each being used more than once on the vehicle. The instructions are not a great help at this point, firstly being very small, and secondly being printed in a black & red colouring and not full colour images of the car or stickers. Placements are also hard to work out where parts are overlapping, particularly on the roof. The larger GB stickers are easy to apply to the two front doors and the rear door panel. The same can be said of the number plates, which fit front and back. The rest is predominantly for the roof, and while these are nice touches, they are so small as to be inconsequential to many collectors, depending on your desire for accuracy. They include radiation symbols, warning stickers, and caution notices.  The smaller we go, the harder these are to apply and apply straight. There is a tool included in the shape of a plastic spatula, but that is more useful for removal of stickers than for application. I also found that adhesion is reduced compared to usual stickers with Hasbro trying to make these reusable. That means on anything other than a flat shape, they do start to peel off.  With ECTO-1 finally assembled and stickered up, you will probably be 2-3 hours in, and it is finally time to start exploring your new ride. We start with the bonnet (hood), which is hinged to lift as it would on the full size vehicle to reveal the engine bay underneath. The engine is not super detailed, but this is a nice touch considering the scenes where Ray is working on the car.  Moving around, the Driver’s door opens smoothly and gives access to the front seats, which will accommodate a full-size Plasma Series figure. The steering wheel rotates, and the CB radio we fitted earlier to the roof section has a mic section on a flexible wire. Across the other side, the passenger door opens the same way and can also seat a figure. The full dashboard is sculpted, and component parts picked out like the speedo housing. Once lit using the interior light functions (as we will see later) you can then see the dashboard is also decorated with dials, vents and trim. Behind the passenger seat, the rear door on the passenger side opens with a little more complexity as it hinges open, then out to clear the car body. This makes it a little trickier to operate. In here is access to two further rear seats. One of these is fixed and facing backwards, while directly opposite and further back into the car, there is a second fold-up/down seat that faces forward. Around the rear seating are banks of equipment fitted into the car with painted button and screens and connected by several sections of flexible cable. The opposite rear door on the driver's side is fixed and does not open.  Posed with the Ghostbusters (1984) Slimed figures (not included) inside For marginally easier access to the interior, we can remove the roof module, which is done by opening the rear door first and clipping out the roof and this then frees up the connection at the front above the windscreen. As you do this, ensure the connecting pipes are also freed from the side of the car. With the roof off, you can access the front and rear sights if you want some overhead access to pose your interior passengers. The final opening door is the rear door that hinges to one side and gives rear access to the internal bay area. This is the largest element of internal space and is designed to hold the included gurney onto which the team stow their Proton Packs. This gurney is an individual sculpted piece with hinged wheels and supports that fold down when its out of the car, and fold up when its inserted - the wheels then lining up with grooves in the bed of the interior.  The gurney is cast in grey/silver plastic with a cream bed and has four clips to hold Proton Packs. The Packs are the ones from the figures, but they do have to be stowed without the hose and Proton Emitter. The straps fit around the clips, and then, with the pack leaning back, the rear of the pack should clip into the larger bracket on the gurney. It works, but not as seamlessly as you might like and therefore if you pack up your gear on the gurney and then into the car, they won’t stay in place if you move ECTO-1 around. “You know, it just occurred to me that we really haven't had a successful test of this equipment.” The final significant feature of ECTO-1 is the built-in lights and sound options. These can be powered by three AA batteries which are not included, and will need to be fitted into a battery compartment underneath the car towards the rear. Alternatively, you can plug in a USB lead with a C connection into a connector, again under the rear of the car and to one side. Above this is a switch that will need to be in the right position to reflect if battery or USB power is being used.  With power supplied, you can now activate the lights and sounds by way of two press buttons sat under the front number plate. The left-hand button controls the lights, and each press of the button cycles through the light options that include headlights and rear lights on (2 variations), internal lights on and dimmed, internal lights on full, and strobe lights flashing (also 2 variations). The strobe functions is obviously the most visible with bright blue lights on the main lights and with other strobes and flashing lights around the rest of the car, including light up strobes on the front bumper.  The sound FX is turned on with the corresponding right button under the number plate. Pressing this once starts up the siren that runs for a period of time before slowing down, fading and then turning off. There is also an engine start up noise achieved by holding the button, which has a starter noise and then an engine running effect. If you press the button while the engine noise is already running, you get that and the siren together. Holding the button then turns off the engine noise, and pressing the button a final time turns off the siren. While the lights and sounds are impressive and really bring a level of realism to the model, there is a significant issue with the way Hasbro has designed these to be activated, one that will frustrate collectors who want to display ECTO-1 with a light functionality without having to open cabinets or work around other figures to access the buttons. It was assumed and alluded to that the “always on” functionality provided with the USB lead would allow that USB lead to be smart plug controlled, essentially turning ECTO-1 on and off remotely. This is, however, not possible, as once the power is removed, the light sequence resets to the off position. That means, despite the external power lead, the only way to turn on the lights (or the sounds) is by physically pressing the button.  Shot with lights active against the Diamond Select Ghostbusters Firehouse Diorama "Now, stay close. Stay close. I know; do exactly as I say. Get ready! Ready? GET HER!" With ECTO-1 built, played with and ready to display for an original 1984 Ghostbusters display, let’s take a look at the included figures from that first movie. We start with the Library Ghost, the first spirit the team encounters. For a line that has done hardly any true ‘ghosts’ prior to the HasLab release, the execution of the Library Ghost is impressive. The body is cast in a translucent purple overlaid with painted pink sections to pick out key parts of the Victorian dres,s such as the cuffs, shoulders, and the ornate lace neck section. The skirt uses the same base plastic, starting translucent and then moving to solid pink paint down the ragged, ripped ends of the skirt. There are no legs, and instead the spirit is supported by a flight stand that inserts within the shirt to a socket in the base of the torso. This stand is not left plain, but is also ghostly in terms of its sculpt to give a misty effect. It is very secure once locked in, and puts some of the stands used on the older Diamond Select line for similar ghosts to shame.  The head sculpt is a really harrowing likeness to actor Ruth Hale Oliver as she played Eleanor Twitty in ghost form. The skin tone is pale pink and sallow with a grey hue to the cheeks, darker pink lips, and sunken eyes, all applied using printing tech. The hair is tied back in a bun and painted in grey. Articulation is sacrificed considerably, with only 8 points of articulation, with over half the usual joints lost simply by not having any legs. The waist still swivels, and the neck is a ball joint to provide the trunk motion. Interestingly, the arms do not feature ball joint shoulders, only a shoulder swivel, which means you cannot raise the arms out from the body, only upwards. The elbows are more traditional, as are the wrist swivels, which also feature a small pivot. The hands, the same deathly pink, are shaped with the right reaching out with fingers outstretched, and the left with the index finger extended. This, therefore, allows you to mimic the ‘shush’ position as seen in the movie or to have Eleanor Twitty point menacingly at you.  Spirits of this nature, as seen in many lines such as Star Wars Force Spirits or Holograms, or the Marvel Legends Doctor Strange Astral Projections, are never perfect and are hard to execute, considering the nature of the effects we see on screen. Straight off the bat, the Ghostbusters team seem to have nailed it, and I am super impressed and hope they get the chance to ring us other spectral characters from the movies.  "He's an ugly little spud, isn't he?" And so we reach Slimer, who is finally making his Plasma Series debut after five years. Slimer has appeared in three movies so far, and his appearance varies in each as does his expression within each movie, depending on what he is up to and what he is eating. The figure included with this HasLab project is packed with the ECTO-1 piece and alluded to as being from Ghostbusters 1984. I do think that the figure is modelled on the recent iteration of Slimer from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Most likely using the design and measurements from that movie rather than trying to access older reference material.  Slimer is a cast green plastic blob, appropriate to his spiritual form, with folded ripples of his body that run down from his mouth and around his expanding middle and rear end. The base green is enhanced with some lighter application of a sickly, almost yellow/green paint. From the body comes two arms in the same green, and these are short and stubby and end in a hand.  The mouth is the biggest feature and is sculpted with crooked bone coloured teeth, and a pink interior with a detailed tongue, gums and tonsils visible. Above this sit the deep-set eyes with a darker tone painted around them and red used on the pupils. The arms use the same colouring and are articulated in just two places at the elbow and the wrist, giving Slimer the ability across these four joints to gesticulate with his hands. The only pity is they do not reach up to his open mouth to simulate him eating. Like the Library Ghost, Slimer is levitated on a fixed ectoplasmic styled stand that appears to be melting or running into a fluid base. The stand piece slots into Slimer’s base and holds really securely. It is perhaps not quite as tall as we would like, and maybe that will need an after market solution.  To date, Slimer has also been released by NECA, Mattel and Diamond Select, and for me, this Hasbro version certainly beats the Diamond (pictured) and Mattel versions, and is on par with the quality of the NECA release. We don’t have the NECA or Mattel versions to hand, sadly, but these are both modelled around the original movies.  vs the Diamond Select Slimer (2016) shown to the right on each image "And now... let's talk seriously. Now, for the entrapment, we're gonna have to ask you for four big ones, four thousand dollars for that.” So there we have it, everything for Ghostbusters (1984) unpacked, built, decorated and on display from the standard box of the HasLab project (Louis Tully aside). And what an impressive centrepiece it is on display, especially for anyone lucky enough to also own the Ghostbusters Firehouse Diorama from Diamond, as the two look awesome together. There are niggles with the car and a couple of loose-fitting parts that frustrate more than anything. The sticker situation feels badly handled by Hasbro, and while you can arguably reuse the stickers, it is unlikely you’d ever get ten uses per sheet. Even after a second application, the adhesion is going, and the edges are starting to show wear. There is enough to kit out the car three times by my reckoning, which means a decision needs to be made early on for those who did buy the ECTO-1A deluxe set on which car you are going to display (unless you were flush enough to buy two). Shot against the Diamond Select Ghostbusters Firehouse Diorama The other frustration is the lighting and sound effects functionality and while the USB lead option is appreciated, we absolutely needed the ability to have the effects turned on and off remotely, either by including a remote control switch or allowing a permanently on mode that we can then activate through a secondary market smart plug or similar.  The figures are great, the Library Ghost in particular showcasing what Hasbro could do if they were ever to tackle figures like the Taxi Ghost or the Scoleri Brothers. Slimer is a long-awaited addition, and looks awesome, but is certainly the more modern interpretation and really needed to sit a little higher on his stand. Value-wise, the base set priced at £324.99 in the UK is not particularly good in terms of value for money compared to the Deluxe package. It includes three figures, which you can value at £75 if we assume the same price as a standard release. ‘We’re the best! We’re the beautiful! We’re the only….” Welcome to Part 2 of our look over the Hasbro HasLab Ectomobile project. In Part 1  we unpacked the main box and took a look at the ECTO-1 configuration and the figures from Ghostbusters 1984. In this article, we will unpack the Deluxe pack, which is very much themed around Ghostbusters 2 from 1989, with parts to convert the Ectomobile into ECTO-1A with figures of the Ghostbusters in their GB2 grey suits… and don’t forget ‘geared up’ Louis Tully.  Hasbro gave collectors a choice of two packages for the Ectomobile, with a base model of ECTO-1 in the main box, along with Slimer, the Librarian Ghost, and Louis Tulley. If you did choose to upgrade to the Deluxe Model, then a second box was bundled with the first, connected by an outer sleeve. This upper red box was, like the main box, designed to look like a rolling tool box and was also adorned with stickers, predominantly themed around the 2nd movie with references to the Statue of Liberty, World of the Psychic, Rays Occult Books, and the Manhattan Museum of Art. There is even a handwritten note to remember the ‘Birthday Party at 2pm’ and to ‘Bring Winston’. Inside this box is an array of plastic trays containing the ECTO-1A roof section, additional roof parts, the Ghostbusters, their equipment and the ECTO-1A sticker sheets, of which there are two. There are no instructions in the Deluxe box, as everything you should need to know about setting up ECTO-1A is on the fold-out instructions from the main box.  If you’ve setup ECTO-1, then this will need stripping back slightly before you can execute the ECTO-1A configuration. The GB1 stickers need removing from the driver, passenger and rear door. You should also remove the ECTO-1A number plate from the front (although I chose not to do this for these photos as it was very difficult to get straight in the first place). The roof sections simply swap-out, so you open up the rear door and clip out the ECTO-1 roof and replace it with the ECTO-1A set. Into this you need to plug the large radar dish, the aerials, and the side connector which sits next to the blue hosing and connects to the second socket on the car body, this one was covered up on ECTO-1 with one of the round plugs. That same plug can be taken right around the other side, where the ladder and piping sat on ECTO-1, and the hole for the pipe can now be covered.  The rear bumper slots out and is replaced entirely with a red bumper piece with its own number plate which needs the ECTO-1A number plate sticker. At the front of the car there is also a clip-out section to the right of the number plate, which features an extra light beacon on the 1A model and this slots in to the hole while also connecting to the electronics with a pronged plug. Everything else is now a sticker application, and there are a lot more than there were on the first iteration.  The GB2 stickers are easy enough, but the stripes are frustrating as a couple seem to be a few mm too long and the rear set don’t actually line up correctly to the fins of the vehicle as shown in the instructions. These also need to straddle the plugged sections and because the plugs sit proud the fit again is poor, and its actually easier to leave the hole exposed and have the sticker over the top. Everything else is then the call-out messages and the hazards and warnings for the roof section. Like the first roof, the instructions are not the easiest to follow, and the stickers have low adhesion and are difficult to stick to anything other than a flat surface.  The final change is the wheels, and the instructions are not overly clear in executing this. You will need to work on the bottom of the car, so in hindsight it's better to do this without the roof in place. Each metal axle pulls out and brings the clipped cover with them. The wheels then come off and the hubs split into a rear hub and front hub. For ECTO-1A you swap the front hub with the white hub with the silver central cap and then reassemble everything. I have since realised that you can also reverse the tyres, removing the white rim for ECTO-1A and having a plain tyre for ECTO-1A. Once complete ECTO-1A can then be activated using the same front switches. There is no change to the sound effect and you can activate a starter sound effect with a medium-length button hold, if you hold this for longer the sound will move from starter effect and into an engine idling sound. A single press either at the start or with the engine idling will sound the siren.  The lights cycle again from front and rear lights, internal lighting, and eventually the multicoloured beacons and sirens, all of which are much more visual than the blue on the first roof. To the sides are two large white panels which are the dot matrix messaging system. This was beyond the budget to actually have it working on the car, so instead a sheet of cut panels are included, allowing you to present either side with a variety of messages from ‘Ghostbusters’, to ‘We’re Back’, We’re Ready, ‘To Believe You’, and ‘For Hire’. While these do not scroll, they are pretty impressive once backlit.  As we mentioned in Part 1, the switches do not hold their choice, so once the batteries run out or the USB lead is removed. That means manual operation is mandatory, and there is no remote control option for those who want to display the car in a display case or cabinet or surrounded by figures.  Using the Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Firehouse Diorama “Ghostbusters! Yes, we’re back” Before this Ectomobile project arrived, Hasbro’s Plasma Series had not featured any figures from Ghostbusters 2. We now have five, all of which are modelled on the original bodies that now date back five years to 2020.  The grey suits are seen predominantly in the montage scenes following the court appearance, and follow the same design as the beige suits, but are now cast in a dark grey colour with a blue hue. The right shoulder carries the Ghostbusters 2 logo as a decal, and the name plates are updated to the GB2 font and are clearly legible as Spengler, Stantz, Venkman, and Zeddemore. The bodies are essentially identical apart from this name plate, although Peter includes different lower legs with his suit pants over his boots rather than tucked in like the other three. The figures are painted elbow protection in a grey finish, while the figure belts are black and then painted over with silver buckles and clips, a yellow pouch, and with another component tool picked out in red. None of these are removable, and none of the accessories can be hung or stowed on the belt.  The heads are all updated from the Wave 1 figures and use facial print tech to replicate the likenesses. While some of these are awesome, particularly Egon with his quizical smirk, and Peter. Others are off, with Ray not looking quite right and arguably not as great as his first head, and Winston, whose likeness to Ernie Hudson has been lost.  Headsculpt comparisons to date: HasLab Ectomobile (left), Slimed Wave (centre), Wave 1 (right) Articulation is the same as the 2020 figures, pinned at the knees and elbows. There are 20 points of articulation in total, with some modern inclusions like the butterfly shoulders, but with some older format cut swivels on the thighs and biceps which can look a bit unsightly when turned. Overall, the articulation gives the figure a full range of motion to replicate a lot of what we see on screen such both in terms of their mannerisms, but also in using the plethora of included accessories.  These accessories, which also work with Louis, are the same as those included in Wave 1 and feature the PKE meter cast in black with a green screen, and the Ghost Trap with a yellow and black hatched opening. These can be held easily by any of the team.  "You mean the Ghostbusters hot thermal beverage mug and free balloons for the kids?" The other accessories are all GB2 themed and include the hot beverage mug and balloon, as modelled by Egon in the movie, in their new TV advertisement. These are cast in plastic and applied with the GB2 decal. The mug features a handle that can be held by the figures, while the balloon is shaped so it can be pinched by the grip of the hands and hangs down.  “Oh baby, you’re my number one Christmas boutique gift item” We also get the Mood-Slime Toaster which is a cast dull silver piece, inclusive of the toaster handles and the toast slots. The mood slime is painted in pink and is bubbling out of the top. For reading materials, another copy of Tobin’s Spirit Guide is included. This one is a lighter brown than the one from the Afterlife line, and features a sculpted cover stating the name of the book, with the Masonic All-Seeing Eye symbol on the back. The book is cast open, with the exposed pages also sculpted with the name Tobin and a Pentagram containing what looks like a ghost. Again, this can be held by the figures easily. A stack of books is also included, which would work with the Library Ghost from GB or as a reference to Ray’s Occult Books. These are sculpted as four stacked books, largest at the bottom and smallest at the top. The top and bottom are a grey colour, with the books in the middle picked out in black and a light red. Like Tobin’s guide, there is text and pictures sculpted into the covers, the top one being the most detailed and titled as an Atlas.  All of these are great to world build the Ghostbusters films in a display, but there are some that are obviously missing, specifically the Christmas Hats we see the team wearing during the ‘We’re Back’ montage. Diamond Select did include on their GB2 grey suit figures, and it is a pity that Hasbro didn’t follow suit. We may see these on the aftermarket in the future through Etsy or similar. "It's slime time!" One item that Diamond did put out, and that Hasbro has followed suit with the inclusion of two Slime Blowers in the Ectomobile Deluxe set. These are a backpack design, a bit like the Proton Packs, but they disconnect at both sides with plug in connections at the base and under the arms. The Slime Tanks also plug into the hole on the reverse of the figure, making these a snug and secure fit one installed. They include plenty of decor with a large grey central tank including warning labels and hazard striping, two side green tanks, black piping and connections, and a lower component section in brown, white and gold with further decal stickers. The front of the vest encloses the suit torso and is grey in colour, with the strapping in a similar military green to the Proton Packs.  The slime blowers themselves connect to the tank by way of some flexible rubber hoses, and they hang off the figures by way of a flexible rubber strap that goes over the figure’s shoulders. The thrower itself is held by a rear post and a front horizontal grip; the hands are a little tricky to get in place as the grips are soft, but once loaded, they are held very secure. Like the Proton Packs, we also get an effect piece to simulate them firing, with two translucent red slime blows that plug into the end of the thrower. These are a nice shape, but are stylised compared to what we see on screen with the way the slime is ‘thrown’ like a fire extinguisher. Considering a level of licence was used to create the shape, I’d have also preferred the colour to be a pinker tone like the actual slime on the toaster.  Using the Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Vigo Painting At this point, it is worth noting that the Slime Blowers were never worn with the grey suits, so there is a level of inaccuracy for any purists. I’ve created a couple of Slime Blower figures by using some original Wave 1 heads for Ray and Winston, and putting them on the corresponding Afterlife bodies, which are darker beige suits and more accurate. That does leave the shoulder icon inaccurate, but I can live with this. For those who collected the Diamond Ghostbuster line before it folded, the world-building parts from this line can also transfer over to the Hasbro collection, particularly the Lenticular Vigo painting if you have it.  Slime Blowers fitted onto a kitbash figure using the Wave 1 Ghostbuster heads & Wave 2 Afterlife bodies “Before we go any further, I think we should get our Proton Packs” The set includes five Proton Packs, as seen when we looked at the loaded Gurney for the Ectomobile. These are identical to those from Wave 1 and 2 and the Slimed Wave. They are cast black with certain wiring and connectors picked out in blue, red and silver. They are fitted with green straps that straddle the figure, while the pack also plugs into the hole on the figure’s back. The straps connect at one side by a plug that is a little tricky to engage.  The Emitter is also a black cast piece and connects to the pack by another semi-flexible tube. This plugs into the Proton Pack base as a ball joint, and then into the back of the emitter. These then fit into the Ghostbusters' hands, or can be holstered by way of a small clip on the side that clips into the slot on the Proton Pack itself.  Proton Stream effects have been limited on past releases, and in Wave 1, only Winston was furnished with one. This set gives us five, one for each pack. They are made up of a central translucent orange beam, surrounded by blue ‘crackling energy’, all of which connect back to a clear tube that slots over the front of the Beam Emmitter. Once in place, they hold pretty well for firing poses, although over time I suspect these may start to droop.  “I was born to wear this stuff” Our final figure is Louis Tully, the second figure of Louis in the line after his GB1 figure as the Keymaster. This one features a brand new headsculpt which is a nailed on likeness of Rick Moranis in GB2, wearing his ear muffs. Like the other figures, the facial printing is used to enhance the sculpt.  The body uses the existing suited body from 2020, complete with pinned joints. The height has been adjusted with tweaks in the lower legs to make Louis shorter than the rest of the team. The colouring is the correct beige, and the logo on the shoulder is the correct GB2 decal. Boots and gloves are black gloss, while the elbow pads are painted grey. Louis’ belt is black with grey panels and the same silver clips as the other figures. As the suit is borrowed, and accurate to the movie, the name plate of Louis’s suit reads Spengler.  Articulation is maintained as the original body with 20 points in total, including pinned elbows and knees. Louis can therefore do everything that the main team can do in terms of posing, again allowing some of the mannerisms and scenes from his short time as a Ghostbuster from Ghostbusters 2. “Stay Fit, Keep Sharp, Make Good Decisions” As we saw earlier, Louis has his own Proton Pack and Emitter that is identical to that of the rest of the team, and that connects in the same way via the plug on the back and the side strap. He holds the beam emitter in the same way, and thanks to the reduced height in the base figure, this all starts to look a bit oversized for the diminutive Louis.  Louis can also interact with any of the other accessories, and looks particularly good posed with Slimer, considering their relationship and the fact that the Slimer figure is very generic and transferable into displays for any of the three movies in which he makes an appearance.  And it is that world-building and group displays that make the set for me, having the team ride in the car or be posed with it. The figures also look great teamed up, such as Louis interacting with Slimer, or even the Library Ghost, making a comeback to face off against the team. With GB2 now on the map for the Plasma Series, we have to keep our fingers crossed that Hasbro still has plans to expand the line, particularly with core figures like Yanosz and Vigo.  "No, I believe it's one of the Fettuccines" We summarised many of the issues we have with the Ectomobile in Part 1, but in summary, the decal situation is not ideal, and the lack of a remote ability to turn on the lights and sounds is disappointing. These aside, the conversion to ECTO-1A is impressive, particularly when lit up, and it is a difficult decision deciding on which version of the car to display if you did only back one of them. The GB2 figures are great, and I understand the use of the blue/grey suits considering how many beige releases we’ve had and how many are still loitering on store shelves. Louis Tully is perhaps the star of the figures, a great repurpose of the original body while making it accurate to the movie and the likeness of a 1989 Rick Moranis, complete with his perpetually terrified expression. Using the Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Firehouse Diorama The Deluxe Set cost £400 in the UK, and for this you got the full car, the options for both ECTO-1 and ECTO-1A and seven figures. If you value the figures at £25 each, then the Deluxe version did offer the better value for money, while also kicking off a GB2 line of figures which had been sorely missing in the five years the Plasma Series has been running. Using the Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Vigo Painting I am not sure the line can support single waves going forward, but I think larger collector sets may be the way forward like the upcoming Rooftop Showdown and I am excited to see if Hasbro has got more planned… or if like the NECA, Mattel, and Diamond line we have got all we are going to get and the Hasbro Plasma Series is another collection that will end with gaps for core characters. Following on from their Megaman release, Hiya Toys has put their next Megaman release up for pre-order. The Exquisite Basic Series release of Zero from Mega Man X will stand 6 inches tall and be fully articulated. The set also includes three face plates, extra hands, and Zero Buster. There are also magnets inserted into the figure's soles so he can stick to metal surfaces. Hasbro were promoting the approaching end for the pre-order window for their G.I. Joe Classified Series Arctic H.I.S.S. tank, which ends on the 4th of January 2026. They have shared some video content for the Arctic H.I.S.S., within which was a reveal of some new figures incoming in 2026 in the Winter Warfare theme. They include the Arctic Steel Corp Trooper for the G.I. Joe forces, along with the Arctic S.A.W. Viper and Arctic Drift Viper for Cobra. More details on these will follow in the New Year. It was The McFarlane Show Holiday Special (Episode 10) and the December presentation, including the usual previews for upcoming McFarlane action figures. In the DC series are new figures of Blackhawk, the Elongated Man, Cosmic Boy, Professor Pyg and a set of Zatanna and Detective Chimp. In the next series of DC Page Punchers, we can expect both Barry Allen's The Flash, and the original Jay Garrick version of The Flash. They are joined by Hal Gordon Green Lantern. A new set of Theatrical Deluxe Edition figures from the DC movie slate will include Bane and Joker from The Dark Knight Trilogy, Christopher Reeve's Superman, and the long-awaited Jack Nicholson Joker from Batman (1989). The final previews were a set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a black, grey and green colour scheme from the IDW comics. The Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series 'Rooftop Showdown' release was announced in June 2026 on Ghostbusters Day 2025, and the set is on track to land in January 2026. We've now got a look at the packaging for the set, and while these screen grabs are not perfect, we can see an outer sleeve with a Stay Puft Marshmallow design. Inside is an inner box with a front cover depicting the architecture of the Shandor Building rooftop. This front cover opens with split doors, revealing the four figures. The set includes all four Ghostbusters, complete with proton packs and throwers, and proton stream effects. Additional Ghostbusting equipment includes PKE Meter, ECTO goggles, and a Ghost Trap. The 7th Elite Edition release from McFarlane is this new 'Image Comics Founders' Elite Edition release of Spawn, as previewed back at NYCC 2025. Spawn will be number 07 in the Elite Edition collection. The figure comes with both masked and unmasked heads, extra hands, an effect piece, a spiked club, and chain accessories. The set also includes a diorama base, collector card, and the Elite Edition points card, which will be randomly packed to be either Common, Uncommon, Rare or Epic with an increasing level of points upwards. Pre-orders are live as of the 18th of December, with the figure due to ship in January 2026. Hasbro held their final Marvel Legends Fan Stream of 2025 on December 15th, an event that was promoted in advance on social media by Dan Yun with the promise of reveals for both comic book and cinematic collectors. The event finally saw a return to Deadpool & Wolverine from 2024 and a full new wave that will feature the sleeveless battle-damaged Wolverine, Cowboypool. Cassandra Nova, X-23, Brown Suit Wolverine, and Blade! The team explained that these figures are coming later than we might have expected as a lot of the movie's details were kept secret. These are general release figures coming in Spring 2026 and live for pre-order on the 16th of December 2025. Within the wave, there is a notable accessory for Cassandra Nova with a hand embedded into a Paradox head sculpt that can be fitted onto a suited Marvel Legends body (if only we'd invested in those Matt Murdock figures from No Way Home). Other call outs are alternative heads for X-23, Blade, and Battle Damaged Wolcverine. Brown Suit Wolverine also comes with a mask. X-23 features Juggernauts helmet, and Cowboypool includes a revolver twirl effect. The Wolverine's are also both backward compatible with the other D&W figures with the Brown Suited figure featuring an alternative neck allowing you to use an unmasked Logan head on the figure if that is your preference. Alongside the wave is a Deluxe release of Deadpool, who also comes with Dogpool, Adamantium Bone Weapons and Claws, and Hulk 'Smash' Hands (if you know, you know). The set also let's Deadpool get his hands on the Golden Desert Eagle pistols from Nicepool, while the suit colouring is also updated to be a touch darker vs the first release. Deadpool and Dogpool will open for pre-ordering on the 29th of January 2026. The Hasbro team confirmed that there are more Deadpool & Wolverine figures coming in 2026 so to remain patience. That therefore is good news for completing the Resistance and figures of Electra, Gambit and Johnny Storm. The comic book releases were all larger releases, including Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider and Motorcycle, Abomination, Grizzly from The Amazing Spider-Man, and an X-Men two-pack featuring Colossus and Kitty Pride. They also previewed the Warmachine Punisher figure, but that is not yet solicited in full. The rest of the figures open for their pre-order windows across consecutive weeks in January. Kitty Pride and Colossus pre-order opens on the 8th January, Grizzly is the 15th, Abomination is the 22nd, and Ghost Rider is TBC but will also be in January. All of these release in the Spring of 2026. The final reveal was a new Iron-Man 'I love you 3000' figure, which is very much in keeping with the Holiday Edition Star Wars figures. Iron Man includes a pink paint job and a special presentation box allowing you to dedicate the figure as a gift to someone you love. This one is live for pre-order on the 18th of December and is also a Spring 2026 release; whether this is by Valentine's Day is unclear. The Fan Stream ended with the usual teasers, including what looks like a classic comic book Redwing for Falcon. We will work these into our Marvel Legends Collector Databas e over the next few days. Another Star Wars Black Series Gamerverse two pack has arrived on Amazon with no fanfare or announcements. The set is again based on the Battlefront II video game and features a new ARC Trooper Infilitrator, and another Training Droid which this time round uses the Commando Droid Body. The Second Wave of McFarlane's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Page Punchers line is on its way, with pre-orders live as of the 16th of December 2025 and the figures themselves arriving in January 2026. The wave will conclude the Turtles with releases of Michelangelo with his nunchucks, and Raphael with his Sai's. Both Turtles also include an alternative head, with swap out hands and feet. They also get a pet each with a pet Dinosaur for Raphael, and Clunk the Cat included with Michelangelo. The wave will also feature Bebop and Rocksteady. Bebop includes 3 extra hands, chainsaw and weapon. Rocksteady includes a hammer plus 2 alternate hands and feet. As is the format of the Page Punchers line, all four figures will also include a mini-comic from the IDW Publishing TMNT series.
