At their panel at Paris Comic Con 2018, Hasbro confirmed three brand new 6 inch Marvel Legends figure for release in 2019. First was a classic comic book Loki who will be part of an Avengers wave in 2019. We then had confirmation of the final line up for the Captain Marvel wave with the final two slots being taken by Genis-Vell and Grey Gargoyle. They will join MCU figures of Captain Marvel, Starforce Commander, Nick Fury and Talos the Skrull and the BAF for the wave will be the Kree Sentry unveiled a few month ago.

Hasbro have revealed an Attack of the Clones Padme Amidala figure for the Star Wars Black Series at Paris Comic Con, one of what we hope are more prequel figures promised before to be unveiled before the end of 2018. Padme comes with what appears to be a removable cloak and a small blaster. While the promo image has had a mixed response, these images from the Hasbro booth in Paris leave me in no doubt over how good this figure looks. The other reveal in Paris was a Chewbacca for the 3.75" Vintage Collection. Chewbacca looks to be a straight up repack onto the Vintage card having originally been released on the older Black Series 3.75" Tie Fighter card back. He will come with his Bowcaster. Both figures are 2019 releases.

Hasbro are attending two conventions this weekend - London & Paris - with reveals promised at both for Star Wars, Marvel and Transformers. The Paris panel is Friday so we expect some news around 5pm UK time. The London panels are not until Sunday, so we didn't expect any news - but Hasbro have snuck a couple of reveals into their MCM London display. These appear to be a 6-armed Spider-Man and a Puma figure who will potentially be filling up slots in the Kingpin BAF wave? We'd expect more details on these at some point over the weekend. Mezco are releasing, via Previews, a variant version of their One:12 Cyclops X-Men figure. The Previews version is the first appearance Cyclops and includes an updated X-Men tailored yellow & blue uniform as well as three different head options. You also get a smoking visor swap out part and two FX pieces that slot onto the visors for displaying Scott discharging his powers. These effects will be enhanced by a light up feature built into the visor. The figure also gets the usual hand assortment and an X-Men logo display stand. The Previews Exclusive Cyclops is due to hit comic book stores on May 29th 2019, and you should be able to pre-order with your local store now "The figure comes accessorized with six interchangeable hands, a visor that contains a smoking effect and three interchangeable heads, including an unmasked version. Welcome to our review of the 2018 special release of this tiny two pack of Porgs, as seen in Star Wars the Last Jedi. These two adorable Porgs are scaled perfectly for the 6 inch Black Series and come in their own mini version of the Black Series packaging, complete with artwork. Packaging  2/5 The Porg 2-Pack comes in a tiny version of the Black Series packaging measuring approx 8cm high, 7cm wide and 2cm depth. In context this is about a third of the usual height of a single figure box and half across (see comparison images). Despite its small size, Hasbro have replicated all the usual Black Series design content with the bold white Star Wars Black Series logo, character name in red and a mini Gregory Titus illustration. The left side spine includes the wrap round the window and the character name repeated in both red and blown up gray text. The other spine is gloss red. The Porg set is not numbered, so the usual greyed square sits where the numbering would be. Round the back there is not enough room for a larger version of the artwork so we go straight into a short and sweet bio about the Porgs. "Small. Mimicking. Mischievous" With limited room for the various copyright and legal definitions the barcode slides to the bottom of the box and there is some legal text that goes up onto top section - and this is a shame as it ruins the look of the packaging as this top flap would usually be plain black. Sculpt & Paint  4/5 The pack contains two different Porgs. The first of these is a static figure with a frown almost kitten like face. Considering this first Porg is less than 2cm high, there is bags of emotion in that face. The paint work is neat considering the scale with glossy black eyes and the white feathers that blend into yellow and then brown. The mouth is slightly off where the sculpt looks like it should be, but that is only noticeable if you blow this up in an image as we have. The second Porg is standing with his wings out. This one is slightly taller at 2.5cm and has a differing expression - more worried than sad so perhaps Chewie is eying this one up for lunch? Painting is the same principle as the other Porg, but with a more orange tone in the feathers to add further variation. The chicken like legs are a pinky flesh colour and there is even dark claws added. Despite being so small, this Porg stands perfectly well on his own on those chicken legs. Hasbro have achieved this by ensuring the balance and weight of the figure are well distributed and its well executed considering the scale. Articulation  4/5 Believe it or not, the standing Porg does come with two points of articulation on its wings. These are plugged into the body by means of a ball socket and therefore they can be rotated and raised and lowered - independently of each other if you want. With the wings up and out the figure is still well balanced. I can't particularly think of where more articulation could be added, so scoring this element is difficult - so I have gone with a 4 out of 5 on the basis that only one of the two Porgs has any movement. Summary You can see what Disney and Lucasfilm were trying to achieve with the addition of the Porgs to The Last Jedi, introducing something that has no real plot point but that serves to drive some merchandise activity in the stores. That being said, they remain a visual part of Episode 8 and it is nice to see them on display with your Luke Skywalker or Rey. My issue is that Hasbro chose to go down the two in a pack route. As a pair they are costing you between £6 and £12 depending where you can find them, and that simply isn't good value or feasible for building up a bigger flock of these. I wonder how successful these might have been as a group of between 10 and 20 in a standard Black Series box for £20? The packaging is disappointing if you want to leave them boxed with all that legal text on the top section, but aside from that and the price/method of release there is not much else you can criticize on these tiny two 2cm figures. ​ I score the Porg 2-pack a 3 out of 5, and I make no apologies for dropping one point purely on the cost element.

McFarlane have revealed the first four 7 inch figures from their new Fortnite licence. We had seen the Cuddle Team Leader at New York Comic Con, and at that point knew the other three figures would be Skull Trooper, Black Knight and Raptor. Each figure comes with 18+ points of articulation and appropriate weaponry. They will include a Fortnite display stand as well as glossy Fortnite window box packaging. The Tamashii Nations Event 2018 has thrown up this new SH Figuarts Yoda figure, as seen in Revenge of the Sith. It is marked "Display Only" so there is no release date as yet, and as we've seen with other Figuarts "reveals" we could end up waiting a while for Yoda to arrive.

NECA have announced they are releasing a third version of their Pennywise Clown from the 2017 remake of IT. The first release and subsequent Gamestop exclusive will be followed by this new version in early 2019 dubbed the "Well House" Pennywise. As an Ultimate Release, the Well House Pennywise will come in window box packaging with opening flap to reveal the figure within. The figure includes four variant head options with one head being engineered so a fence post can be placed through it. There is a new "monster" right hand and new grabbing hands included. The SH Figuarts Harry Potter line of 1/12 figures launched with figures of Harry, Ron and Hermione from The Philosopher's stone. It seems the next release will be of Professor Severus Snape from the same movie after his figure was revealed at the Tamashii Nations 2018 Event in Japan. The labelling has this as a "display only" figure which indicates that a release date has not yet been confirmed or specified. Images shared by AmiAmi

Hasbro have shared the promotional images of the Star Wars Black Series Archive figures announced at New York Comic Con. Anakin Skywalker, Yoda and the Biker Scout will arrive in Autumn 2019 and alongside the earlier wave of Luke X-Wing, Bossk, IG88 and Boba Fett will be the only Archive releases for 2019.

Welcome to our review of the 2017 release of the Marvel Legends Jessica Jones. Jessica was part of the Marvel Knights wave of figures which included a Man Thing BAF. It include four figures from the Netflix Marvel TV shows with Jessica Jones from her first series, alongwith Daredevil, Punisher and Elektra from Daredevil Series 2. Packaging  4/5 Jessica arrives in the standard Legends packaging with the wave having a deep red colour scheme to offset against the black of the box. The Jessica Jones logo looks fantastic at the base of the window, but Jessica herself looks a little pushed to the side by the enormous Man Thing Torso. Round the back and we get a knee upward image of the Jessica figure alongside a short bio that sets up the show. Beneath this we have the BAF checklist for Man Thing. "When a mind-controlling sociopath named Kilgrave resurfaces in New York City, Jessica Jones must use her gifts as a private eye to track him down before he causes more damage." * I bought my Jessica Jones loose on the secondary market, the following images are stock photos Sculpt & Paint 3/5 The 2017 Marvel Knight wave was one of the first to employ the Face Print technology. While this does give us a more realistic head sculpt, it isn't necessarily a perfect likeness of Krysten Ritter. I can't put my finger on what exactly isn't right on the head sculpt, but the cheekbones are perhaps not pronounced enough and the eyes not dark enough in terms of the mascara. The hair is a secondary piece and this flows down either side of the face and over the shoulder. It is cast in a black plastic with no paint apps. The head is perhaps a touch too big for the body, and that too throws off the look a little. The body is made up of a sculpted black shirt over which is Jessica's trademark leather jacket. This is cast as a separate piece also, with a black gloss rubbery plastic used - and then silver paint applied to the zip and buttons. The legs are sculpted to look like jeans and are painted in a denim effect with various washes to stonewash them to the right colour. The legs too look a little out of proportion, a bit too bow legged for my liking. The legs end in the ankle boots which are also plain black. While the sculpt may have minor issues, the paint is neat across the board. But the big miss for me in the whole sculpt is the lack of Jessica's trademarked scarf *. * We do have a hack for that scarf if you see the bottom of this review ​​ Articulation  3/5 Jessica has 16 points of articulation, standard for a female Legends figure and of course she comes with the usual restrictions that the female characters suffer with. The first joint is in the neck which is ball jointed with a pivot. Despite the hair being thick, it is still flexible enough to move with the head so not to restrict any movement. There is a waist joint hidden neatly under that jacket which allows full upper torso rotation and lean. The arms are the basic "female" arms with ball joint shoulders, single joint elbows and a pivot wrist. This makes posing of the arms a little limited as the elbows can only bend to 90 degrees and not beyond. The legs are much more maneuverable with ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle rockers. The shape of the legs does help their movement and Jessica can take up a number of poses including sitting if you have a desk to hand (as I did). She isn't the easiest to stand, even with the rockers being quite robust, and I've had to drop her on a stand for display. ​ Accessories  0/5 Jessica does not have a single accessory included. While a 1/12 scale bottle of Scotch might not have been appropriate, it might have been nice to see Jessica come with her camera. ​​ Summary Jessica Jones is an acceptable addition to a Netflix / Defenders display alongside Daredevil, Punisher and Elektra - although she is the weakest of the four initial figures. The head is a touch too big and not the best likeness, and the body is also off with those skinny bow legs. Articulation is standard for a female Legend figure - but when you are releasing a figure with no accessories and a basic paint job then it might have been nice to try a couple of new upper joints to help in posing. I score Jessica Jones a 3 out of 5 and on the basis that we are unlikely to get another figure of her for some time (that doesn't use this sculpt like the SDCC 2018 release) then I would recommend you pick her up sooner rather than later as she is one of the few MCU figures of recent years that is climbing rapidly in price. ​​ Jessica Jones Scarf Hack As I said in the review, the one thing missing from the Marvel Legend Jessica Jones release seems to be her gray scarf which became an iconic look for Series 1 and into The Defenders. Thankfully there is a relatively simple hack for this and all you need is the head scarf from the Star Wars Black Series Jyn Erso (relatively inexpensive figure) and a pair of sharp scissors. Pop off the scarf from Jyn Erso and also pop off the head from your Jessica Jones figure - it should pop off relatively easily but if you feel any resistance give it a warm with a hair dryer or in hot water to ease it along. Take your scissors and cut around the hood section of the head scarf. Test fit this round the neck. Keep trimming a bit at a time until you are happy with how it sits. The edge needn't be too tidy as the hair will flow over the edge when the head is popped back in place. Once your done drop Jessica's head back in place and push it down over the scarf until it clicks.

Mezco have announced another Fall Exclusive release, and for this one they've returned to the Spider-Man Homecoming to bring us the Homemade Suit in 1/12 scale The One:12 Collective Homemade suit will come with fully tailored suit and includes both masked and unmasked head - the unmasked head looking like a very good likeness to Tom Holland from those promotional images. Weblines are included that attach to web shooting hands. You also get a selection of other hand options and the usual figure stand. The reason to make this an exclusive release is unclear, other exclusives have usually been a tweaked or recoloured existing figure. Making this so hard to get may backfire on Mezco with the MCU collectors. The figure has sold out presently at its $85 RRP but you can join the waitlist on the Mezco Website (US collectors). If you are lucky enough to get one of these on pre-order then it is due to ship in late December or early January/February 2019.
