"Peoples of the Universe, please attend carefully." While several actors have portrayed The Master over the years in Doctor Who, the two that are synonymous with the Classic Era are Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley. Delgado, a staple during the 3rd Doctor era, was released as a figure by Character Options back in 2010 alongside an Axon creature. The same figure was released again in 2011 with his Computer Bank TARDIS from The Time Monster, and for a final time in a B&M 3-pack in 2016. Ainley, on the other hand, has only had a solitary release, a two-pack in 2010 alongside the Fifth Doctor in a set from Planet of Fire. Rather than depicting Ainley in his iconic costume, the set depicted The Master in a three-piece suit and tie. We would go on to get releases of the Ainley-era TARDIS with the Grandfather Clock released in a Keeper of Traken set in 2011, and the Doric column in 2012 in a set with the newly regenerated Fifth Doctor from Castrovalva.  Having waited many, many years, the Character Toys team has finally filled the Anthony Ainley gap in our Doctor Who collections with the Autumn 2025 Vortex Edition release of The Master and his TARDIS, a set exclusive to the Character Toys  online store.  The Master set uses the current packaging design and branding for Doctor Who, a white base box with TARDIS imagery in one corner, the 60th Anniversary diamond logo in the top left, and a coloured vortex design which is colour-coded to the Doctor from whose era the set is taken. In this case, it is the blue of the 4th Doctor era to reflect the Ainley Master’s first appearance in The Keeper of Traken and onward into Tom Baker’s final story, Logopolis. The box itself is shaped with an angled corner on the right-hand side, with this spine and the opposite left-hand side left relatively plain with the BBC Doctor Who text, but no direct reference to the set's contents.  The set name is referenced on the box front on the lower panel with further information provided via TARDIS blue Diamond call outs on the box front that confirm the contents, the scale at 5.5 inch, and the set being a ‘High Decor Vortex Edition Figure’. The back of the box is entirely dedicated to text, and also repeats the Diamond Call out confirmations of the scale and the Vortex Edition, now going into more detail about the Vortex releases, quoting ‘higher specification decor’. Alongside this is the usual in-depth background text from Character that details the history of Anthony Ainley’s Master from his ‘body stealing’ in the Keeper of Traken, to the end of the Classic run in Survival, and his apparent ‘end’ in the 1996 TV Movie. There are also references to the sound clips on Ainley used in the modern series, including Utopia in 2007 and most recently The Giggle in 2023 - all snippets of info that are lovely to read and for me are appreciated more than replicating the plot and outcome of the Dr Who story from which the figure is based. The Master, accessories, and TARDIS are secured into an inner plastic tray with white cotton ties. As this is an online-only item with no real risk of shop theft, the ongoing use of these very visual ties feels unnecessary, particularly for those keeping the set boxed. Behind the tray is an inner cardback that is created by the Character art team to represent the Pharos Project (Jodrell Bank) Radio Telescope control room from Logopolis. It comes complete with three sides, a small base, and an upper panel, as well as a 3D element where the doorway is set into the set, with the sky visible beyond.  The Master is presented in the iconic black costume with its flamboyant, fluffy sleeves, the rear tabard, and the raised collar. Much of this is cast in black plastic and relies on the sculpted details on the cloth and buttons rather than any paint decor. We do get a gloss black application on The Master’s shoes, and we also get the gold design around the collar, trimmed in silver, which is impressive at this scale.  The head sculpt is new and is much improved on the 2010 Planet of Fire release, with a likeness that is clearly Anthony Ainley and painted in a much more realistic style than perhaps we have been used to seeing in the Doctor Who line, particularly the eyes.  vs the other Classic Era Master figures from 2010, Planet of Fire Centre, Delgado right There are two heads included, allowing you to choose from a neutral look and a second head that recreates Ainley’s maniacal smile. The smiling head is as good, if not better, in terms of likeness and decor. The heads on the Vortex releases have moved away from the head and neck as a single piece, with the head now fitted to a ball joint and plugging into a neck that is sculpted as part of the torso. Swapping these out is easy enough, but after just a few swaps, I can already feel some looseness as the plastic of the neck is stretched - so be mindful of that. Also, be mindful that if you intend to use the spare head on another body to create a different look for The Master, then this will be more complex than a simple swap, with some work needed to create a neck piece to accommodate the new head.  Articulation was initially quoted as a feature of the Vortex releases, but that has since been removed in more recent releases, and The Master uses the same visible pinned joints at the knees and elbows, the same cut at the thigh and bicep, and with no ankle joints to aid in stances outside that of a neutral position. We have 16 joints in total, with the newer neck joint the most impactful in replicating some of the mannerisms of The Master with the ability to tilt, as well as look up and down - the older figures could simply rotate.  I found the arms the most restrictive as there is no outward shoulder joint, as has been included more recently, allowing the arms only to rotate around the shoulder, and the elbows also only able to bend in this same axis. Outbound arm movement is therefore reliant on the bicep swivel, but due to the voluminous sleeves, the biceps cannot turn fully as they are blocked by the torso. Using this older arm configuration and also not expanding into the use of ankle rockers after their solitary use on the Fifteenth Doctor also has an impact on posing potential. The accessories are really well thought out and reflect the Master’s time in Doctor Who, spanning the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Doctor eras. We get two versions of his TCE device: a black cylinder with a gold end panel. The emitter for the device varies on the two versions, allowing you to display The Master with a closed or opened version, the opened version featuring additional silver paint apps within the four-leaf open emitter. These both fit into the shaped right hand with sufficient arm movement to have these extended against the Master’s enemies. The other two accessories pay homage to the TV Movie where the Ainley Master apparently meets his end at the hands of the Daleks. We have the Funeral Casket that the 7th Doctor uses to hold The Master’s remains in the TARDIS as he transports him to Gallifrey. This is a working box, scaled to the figure and featuring Gallifrey scroll design in gold, including the Seal of Rassilon. There is also a sculpted lock and keyhole, and ornate trim to the top of the box, and sculpted handles to either side and with feet on the base. A pair of simple hinges allows the box to be opened, revealing a rich red interior.  Inside this, you can place the Internment Orb, which contains The Master’s remains in the TV movie. This is a smaller piece and therefore the details are more limited, but the shape mimics that seen on screen with the central orb and then extended trim around the side to hold the piece in place. This Orb can be held or will sit in the Funeral Casket, and can be held within even with the lid closed.  While The Master can hold both the Casket and the Orb, this is of course not accurate to the lore of Doctor Who (and a bit morbid) but it is a nice touch that Character have included such parts to allow us to continue world building in the Doctor Who line after such a long time, and these do present a nice new accessory and display alongside the Big Finish 7th Doctor  from 2019. Funeral Casket with the Big Finish 7th Doctor (2019) The final element of the set is The Master’s TARDIS in its Doric Column disguise, as seen in Logopolis, Castrolva, and Time Flight before its outer appearance changed. Character have said this is the original blow-molded hollow TARDIS from the 2011 Castovalba set, but the new version has gained a few mm in height. The column features the outline of a door as well as the ridges of the column and the upper and lower plinths.  The paintwork is darker on this newer 2025 release, relying now more on a wash over the base colour, while the original had drybrushing to lighten the base colour. There are no opening doors despite the hollow nature of the piece, and the blow-molding has left some variations in finish with the TARDIS we received in our set purchased from Character having a slightly uneven base and not quite standing true. For £44.99 including free post in the UK, the price reflects the limited nature of the release and cannot be compared directly to the pricing we see in B&M or against comparable collector lines of similar sizing. For your £45, you get a brand new figure, extra head, four accessories, and a full-size TARDIS, so there is a good sense of value for money. Purists or those wanting a definitive Ainley Master set might also have asked for the Shrunken person accessory from the Castovalva set, and perhaps a removable cape to recreate the Five Doctors look, perhaps even a Seal of the High Council.  While the backing card is not designed as such to be a pull out diorama piece, it does fulfil that option without much fuss, although purists may want to disguise the plain cardboard sides. I love the fact the Master can step through the 3D door element. The figure scales well with the existing line, while looking contemporary among them, despite the improved decor that is a key element of the Vortex releases. I, for one, had lots of fun sharing the Master with the various Doctors he has encountered over the years. The Master posed with various Doctors from the Character Toys line I can see many collectors getting a couple of sets rather than have to choose which head sculpt to use and who to pose him with. We do have to now wonder - and hope - if there will be any further use of this new sculpt with variants like that from The Five Doctors and the specific look from Survival, certainly high on people's wish list. McFarlane has announced a number of new 7-inch releases for Spawn. They include a new Burned Spawn as seen in the Call of Duty game. This release will feature a standard figure and a McFarlane store exclusive Signed Edition which will include a collector card featuring Todd McFarlane's signature. Joining Burned Spawn are two versions of Spawn 77 in the McFarlane Digital Series. These are both Red Platinum figures, with the blue/red version of Spawn 77 having been listed earlier this year , in September, on an Amazon listing. The other version sports a more traditional black and white colour scheme with a red cape. These three have recently been sold at NYCC ahead of going on general sale. The final figure is another variant of The Deviant Spawn from Spawn Rat City in a line-art decor This is another Red Platinum release. "There's been a rebellion, sir. Don't worry. The situation is under control" To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, Hasbro released another series of Star Wars Black Series figures on cardbacks inspired by the original 3.75” releases from 2005. Like most Anniversary releases to date, these were a mix of re-packs and tweaked characters picked from the existing line-up of figures.  We have had a few releases of 501st standard Phase II Clone Troopers over the years, starting with the 2016 Order 66 multi-pack , then the 2022 Archive release, and to the most recent 2023 Flashback Commander Appo  figure. The latest iteration of the 501st Troop Building releases is the 2025 Revenge of the Sith Tactical Ops Trooper.  The Revenge of the Sith Anniversary series cardbacks are taken directly from the original 2005 toyline, with a cardback shaped as Darth Vader’s head, with the head sitting over a flaming lava scene from Mustafar as the bottom third of the cardback. Vader’s red eyes stared out from behind the blister, while reflected in his helmet was the duel on the Lava Plains between Obi-Wan and Anakin. The cardfront is the same for all releases with the circular shaped bubble including the character image and details as an inserted sleeve section that wraps around the front of the figures feet and with the cut out of the character raising upward on the left hand side of the packaging while the central portion is turned over to the original Revenge of the Sith logo in orange and yellow. The character name, the Tactical Ops Trooper, is derived from the original 2005 release, at which point the 501st was not truly embedded into Star Wars lore until the Clone Wars was fully explored through the animated series. The cardback carries further imagery of our 501st Clone Trooper as he appeared in ROTS, as well as an image of the posed figure, but it lacks any background for the character, with the text turned over to a positioning piece about the Anniversary series as a whole. As with any cardback, the packaging is damaged to open the figure. Our 501st Tactical Ops Clone Trooper is wearing the Phase II armour from Revenge of the Sith, as seen when they marched upon the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. The figure uses the latest iteration of the Clone Trooper body with gloss white armoured panels connected by black, ridged joints and connections that also reflect the Clone’s undersuit. The 501st markings are added in a blue colouring, and done in a way to reflect their battlefield application, so the lines are not completely true, and the paint itself is scratched and worn.  The figure comes with a standard Clone Trooper likeness of Temura Morrison, with a flattop hair style in jet black and face printed features over the base flesh colour of the head. This is not necessarily accurate to the scenes in Revenge of the Sith, but is now fairly standard fare with any Clone Trooper issued release.  The helmet is designed to fit snugly over the head, more or less covering the lower portion of the chin, although this can remain visible from some positions, depending on how your Clone Trooper is posed. The helmet follows the same principles as the body, with a gloss white base plastic and blue markings. Further detailing like the visor, the main ridge around the helmet, and the breathing vents, are all picked out in black with further detailing in grey and silver. The figure is essentially that of Commander Appo from 2023, but side by side, you can see that the 501st markings are a much deeper blue and more aligned to the original Trooper release and most of the other 501st characters like Rex, Fives, and Jesse. The head sculpt is also the same one across both figures, with our Revenge of the Sith release showing the progression in facial print likeness in just 2 years with a much crisper and more realistic look overall. vs Commander Appo release 2023 (right) Our Tactical Ops Trooper can choose from either of the core Clone Trooper weapons, with both the DC-15S blaster carbine and the longer DC15-A blaster rifle included in the pack. Both weapons use the latest cast, with crisp detailing but zero paint apps across the dark grey base plastic. They can fit into either hand, with a trigger finger now included on both right and left hands, with plenty of articulation range for two handed posing. There is no holster options.  Articulation overall is 21 points in total, all pinless and all with a good range of movement to support a whole variety of display options from firing either of the blasters, to running into battle, to standing to attention. The arms in particular work really well thanks to the butterfly shoulders in particular, but also thanks to the flexible hinge on the shoulder pauldrons, which move with the arm both up and down, but also in terms of any rotation.  The same is applicable at the knees, where the armour panel is now left floating so they can be moved with and positioned naturally against the joint rather than being fixed and sticking out at odd angles when the knee is bent. The feet are ratcheted securely, and once planted, the Trooper stands securely on display. Considering the importance of the 501st and the potential for Army Building, this reflects only the third time the Trooper has been released singularly, and one of those was the Commander Appo figure who’s markings differed due to the lighting and armour decor seen in the Flashback scenes for Kenobi. This Revenge of the Sith release presents both a lovely looking figure on card paying homage to the original 2005 line of 3.75 releases, but also is a fairly fault-less release in hand for display on his own or as part of a wider Troop Build either marking behind Anakin into the Jedi Temple, or recreating earlier battles from the Clone Wars era itself alongside the named characters who still outnumber the basic Troop type in releases. NECA's first releases with their new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles licence is under the Page Punchers banner and feature a 5-inch scaled figure along with a reprinted IDW TMNT Comic themed to the release. The first wave will feature the first two Turtles in the shape of Leonardo and Donatello. Leonardo will be packed with 2 katanas, katana holder, swappable head portrait and 2 alternate hands and feet. While Donny will include bo staff, bo staff holder, wrench, blow torch, swappable head portrait and 2 alternate hands and feet. They will face off against Shredder and a Foot Soldier, making up the other half of the wave. As seen on display at NYCC 2025, the new Mezco One:12 Collective release of Marv from the Sin City comics is now open for pre-ordering with a Quarter 2 (April-June) 2026 release date. Marv, presented in a monochrome finish throughout, will include three head options, a selection of alternative hands, and is wearing a soft goods trenchcoat. Accessories include a number of cigarettes and a lighter, a handgun with magazine, a decapitated head, a hacksaw, a pendant, handcuffs, an axe, and a gas canister. There are also effect pieces for use with the gas canister and firing effects for the handgun. “R2, do you copy? R2, do you hear me?” To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, Hasbro released another series of Star Wars Black Series figures on cardbacks inspired by the original 3.75” releases from 2005. Like most Anniversary releases to date, these were a mix of re-packs and tweaked characters picked from the existing line-up of figures.  R2-D2 has been part of the Black Series line since its launch in 2013, although the initial Astromech sculpt was slightly undersized for a six-inch scaled line. In 2023, the droid got a makeover with a brand new sculpt that not only resolved the size issue, but also built in some extra features for any Astromech release secreted away in the domed head and cylindrical body. The first R2 release on this new body was also an Anniversary line  with the Return of the Jedi Anniversary series, with the figure packed shortly after into the Galaxy Collection, but as part of The Mandalorian  collection following his brief appearance at the end of Season 2. The Revenge of the Sith series provided another opportunity to get R2-D2 back on shelves, and this time with a slight enhancement.  The Revenge of the Sith Anniversary series cardbacks are taken directly from the original 2005 toyline, with a cardback shaped as Darth Vader’s head, with the head sitting over a flaming lava scene from Mustafar as the bottom third of the cardback. Vader’s red eyes stared out from behind the blister, while reflected in his helmet was the duel on the Lava Plains between Obi-Wan and Anakin. The cardfront is the same for all releases with the circular shaped bubble including the character image and details as an inserted sleeve section that wraps around the front of the figures feet and with the cut out of the character raising upward on the left hand side of the packaging while the central portion is turned over to the original Revenge of the Sith logo in orange and yellow. The cardback carries further imagery of Artoo as well as an image of the posed figure, but it lacks any background for the droid, with the text turned over to a positioning piece about the Anniversary series as a whole. As with any cardback, the packaging is damaged to open the figure. R2-D2 is constructed using a white cast cylindrical body with sculpted panel lines and vents, with several of the major ones down the front panel of the droid picked out in blue and silver. The dome head is a silver cast piece with a visible join line across the front and back half, which does detract a little from the overall aesthetic. Like the body, panel details and vents are sculpted with the dome and painted, the majority of these in a rich blue finish around the side, and across the top segments of the dome. The main eye piece is a gloss black, and under this sits a red receptor. A similarly sized circular receptor in green sits around the back half of the dome.  The legs are stubby and connected to the main body at the top of each side. They are the same white as the main droid with sculpted workings down the length of them and into the angled feet with a pair of copper painted solid plastic wires connecting the front part of the foot to a rear section. Blue and silver is again used here to pick out key details.  The third leg can be withdrawn from a socket at the base of Artoo’s body. On the older, smaller versions, this could be wound up or wound down by rotating the head. On the newer Astromech’s this function is no longer in place, so the leg is pulled down or pushed back manually. The travel leg is cast in the same white plastic, and while sculpted components are visible and as seen on the left & right legs, the finish is left plain with no additional paint work. Artoo is presented ‘clean’ overall with no weathering or wear and tear around any of his component parts. He is essentially identical to both the Return of the Jedi and Mandalorian versions released in 2023, although, as we will see, the contents and accessories for the figures do vary. The original releases of this new Artoo included six different tool accessories, two of which were scanners used on the upper dome and four of which were tools used on the main body. The ROTS version loses the two scanners, although the socket is still there under one of the upper triangular blue dome panels, which still pops off. This would allow you to share parts from the other releases to this Artoo if you wanted.  The other four tools are designed to fit in the opening panels of the main body. While there are four opening sections to operate on the front of the Droid, only the side ones accommodate the tools while the two horizontal blue panels, which hinge outward from the body, are additional utility arms. Beneath the two opening ‘doors’ on either side, there are three sockets to choose from, giving six slots in total for any of the four included arms to be located. You can choose between a welder, a terminal data probe, a hyperdrive manipulator arm, and a grapple claw, all of which are cast in plain grey plastic with some black paint on the welder and a bronze band on the data probe. The newer functionality of these larger Astromech’s is to replace the mechanism to raise and lower the central leg with a storage compartment that sits directly under the dome and is revealed by pulling the dome upwards. While this is not at all screen accurate, Hasbro has built in detail to these inner workings that look like internal components rather than leaving it plain. Within the main shaft are six built-in clip slots to accommodate the accessories. Two of these will, of course, go unfilled on this release as they are where the scanner and periscope would normally sit.  The relatively big change for this Revenge of the Sith R2-D2 over the prior two releases is the inclusion of his rocket boosters, as seen in the opening battle of Coruscant, where he torches some Super Battle Droids. These were first released with the 2024 R5-D4 version  of this Astromech from The Mandalorian and in particular the Pelli Motto Droid Set. These boosters have now been rolled into this ROTS Anniversary set as a point of difference to the earlier sets.  vs R5-D4 (Pelli Motto Droid Set) 2024 (right) These work by clipping off the long blue panels from each leg (these were fixed on the first releases). This reveals a two-slot socket underneath into which the extended rocket boosters fit. These boosters are cast in grey with blue and black details added. The look can be further enhanced with a pair of blue translucent blast effects that sit in the base of each booster to simulate Artoo about to take off. Posing R2-D2 in flight is more difficult with no flight stand included, and nothing specific on the market to hold the girth of an Astromech droid. Something in line with the original Chopper release might have been nice. Articulation on R2 in either configuration is just 6 points in total, in terms of moving the dome or the legs into a posed position, with another 5 opening/closing panels and joints to further enhance the look of the figure. These all work relatively well, although the opening front doors are fiddly to get a grip of to open. R2-D2 from Revenge of the Sith is a solid addition to the Anniversary line, going beyond a simple re-pack of an existing figure to a figure that includes new parts that are directly linked to Artoo’s role in the events of Revenge of the Sith. He looks great both in and out of packaging, with plenty of display options despite the limited articulation that his Astromech design dictates. It is a shame Hasbro couldn’t include all six of the original accessories, or couldn’t fashion a flight option to work with the boosters and effects to give him more dynamism on display. A worthwhile addition to a Revenge of the Sith display, but equally of use to collectors who need an R2 for any era of Star Wars - particularly as he is now more accurately scaled. “It's treason, then.” To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, Hasbro released another series of Star Wars Black Series figures on cardbacks inspired by the original 3.75” releases from 2005. Like most Anniversary releases to date, these were a mix of re-packs and tweaked characters picked from the existing line-up of figures.  The Black Series Kit Fisto figure was first released in 2020 as an Attack of the Clones  release under the Phase 3 red line packaging. Considering it has been five years since this release and considering Kit Fisto’s role in Revenge of the Sith when he forms part of the team sent to confront Palpatine, then the Anniversary line presents an opportunity to revisit the character. There is also a link in here to the NYCC 2025 Exclusive of Mace Windu vs Palpatine recreating that epic duel, and therefore putting another Kit Fisto into circulation helps enhance that set - albeit we are still awaiting figures at the time of writing for figures of Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin. The Revenge of the Sith Anniversary series cardbacks are taken directly from the original 2005 toyline, with a cardback shaped as Darth Vader’s head, with the head sitting over a flaming lava scene from Mustafar as the bottom third of the cardback. As with any cardback, the packaging is damaged to open the figure. Kit Fisto is presented in his Jedi Robes, which include an upper light brown tunic with a painted paler inner robe visible at the neckline. The lower skirt piece is part of the same garment, but cast in softer plastic and fitted over the figure's waist joint, incorporating a sculpted belt painted in brows and black with a silver buckle. The legs are plain dark brown trousers which are baggy at the top and then slim down to tuck into a pair of knee high brown gloss boots. The headsculpt is reflective of the Nautolan species and a good likeness to the onscreen prosthetics. The green skinned head includes a pair of large black painted eyes and a small, tightly drawn mouth picked out in a slight pink tone. A similar pink/flesh finish is used to add texture and variation to the green skin sound the head and down each of the main head tentacles, which are tied at the back by way of brown leather straps, to then snake down the rear of the figure, with two further positioned to sit down over the front of Kit Fisto’s torso. vs Attack of the Clones 2020 release (right) The figure is essentially identical to the 2020 release with some minor variations in paint finish, particularly on the skin tones. This, therefore, makes this release essentially the Attack of the Clones version of Kit Fisto. In Revenge of the Sith, he was wearing outer robes when he went to battle Palpatine, while the inner robes were marginally darker - although that may have been lighting. There is some simple kitbashing you can do to create the robed look if you scroll down after the end of this review to find out more. However, if you do consider this a release paying homage to the original ROTS toy line and that particular 3.75 inch release of Kit Fisto, then this is an accurate representation as the 2005 release also was devoid of outer robes.  Kit Fisto is packed with his lightsaber, again the same one as included in the original 2020 release. This is made up of a cylindrical hilt in silver with black ringed components and a red painted switch. While the belt has a socket, the saber hilt does not have a dedicated plug that can be used to holster the hilt. However, the hilt does feature a sculpted circular switch at the base that can stand in for the plug and just about secure the saber into a belt-slung position, although the fit here is far from secure. The blade is the usual translucent plastic, in green to match Fisto’s blade, and this slots into the hilt emitter with a ridged clip. The saber can be held in either hand, with just enough arm articulation for some limited two-handed poses. The overall articulation is 19 points in total, with some older pinned double joint knees that are carried forward from the original body for Obi-Wan Kenobi on which this figure is built. There are also newer parts featured like butterfly shoulders expanding the arm movement within the scope of the torso robes, which do overhang at the sides around the shoulders. Head and neck articulation are relatively redundant due to the Nautalon head-tentacles, but there is enough flexibility in the front tails in particular to have Kit Fisto turn his head to either side if needed. All in all, as a recreation of the original 2005 figure, this release ticks all the boxes. As a recreation of the Revenge of the Sith appearance of Kit Fisto, it missed the mark by way of a lack of soft goods robes, and does not add any further value for anyone already in possession of the original 2020 Black Series release. That probably leaves Kit Fisto most desirable to carded collectors with the retro design, while the figure itself will only be relatable to those without Kit Fisto in their collection, particularly those thinking about the imminent arrival of that Palpatine vs Mace Windu set.  Kitbash Option There is, as there often is, a kitbash solution for the figure that can be achieved relatively cheaply (and one that Hasbro could have done themselves). The figure will accept existing Black Series Jedi Robes, most easily accessible from the Acolyte figures of Master Sol or - as we have done - Yord Fandar. The head tails will shift enough to secure the robes under them and around the neck, and once in place, Kit FIsto looks very much more aligned with his Revenge of the Sith look. Other robes, such as those from the single Mace Windu, or the ‘Jabiim’ Obi-Wan Kenobi, should also work fine, but may be more difficult (expensive) to obtain. Character Toys has unveiled their new Doctor Who Vortex Edition release of Anthony Ainley's Master and his Doric Column TARDIS. The set will also feature the Master's TCE (Tissue Compression Eliminator) in both open and closed modes. The Star Wars Panel at NYCC 2025 included a selection of new reveals in the Vintage Collection, the Black Series, and the Retro Collection. The panel kicked off with new Vintage Collection reveals, including the next 'Battle of Geonosis' themed reveal as a new Padme Amidala figure from Attack of the Clones. Also from AOTC is a new Vintage Collection Shaak Ti. These are part of a wider wave that opens for pre-order as of the 28th of October and will ship in early 2026. Moving to the Retro Collection, there was a tease of some future projects, including a preview of Garinden the Imperial Spy, including soft goods robes. More details on him and his 'friends' will come in the future. There will also be some more focus in 2027 to mark the 50th Anniversary, The Black Series reveals started with a new Book of Boba Fett figure of Boba Fett, the Daimyo version now including toe articulation. The retooled figure also includes a removable helmet and moveable knee pads to further enhance the poses available. The next reveal is a re-release of Darth Vader with his broken mask from the Kenobi Series. This is a packaging refresh. Vader and Fett are the other figures in the Galaxy Collection Wave 24 alongside Asajj Ventress and Jango Fett. They are an early 2026 release. As revealed a day or so ago, it was confirmed that the Walmart Exclusive of the Patrol Trooper and Purge Trooper in the Gaming Greats line. This one will be released in Spring 2026 and should be a Fan Channel release outside of the UK. The panel closed with a reveal of four new 'swoosh' light saber effects, which will be included with the four figures in the first Fan Channel wave of 2026. None of these characters has been done in the Black Series to date. The first of these was revealed to be Kyle Katarn from Dark Forces.
