A magazine scan, shared on social media, confirms a new Marvel MCU addition coming to the 1/12 SH Figuarts line in the guise of Nebula. This was followed up by a series of promo images. The image indicates two head options will be include as well as Nebula's sword and gun. She is due for a September 2019 release.

Mezco have opened up the pre-orders for their One:12 Pennywise figure, arriving September - November 2019. Pennywise has four head options and 8 hands. Accessories include the paper boat, a balloon, severed arm and a framed painting. “Time to float!” The One:12 Collective IT (2017): Pennywise figure captures the demonic clown as he appears in the 2017 film. The shape-shifter features four head portraits with expressions from the film. Pennywise comes outfitted in a clown costume with ruffle detailing around the collar, wrists, and ankles. He also comes complete with his infamous red balloon, Georgie’s severed arm, Georgie’s paper boat, and the framed painting of the eerie woman that hung in Stanley’s father’s office. Pennywise, based on the novel ‘IT’ by Stephen King, is the red balloon-toting, demonic clown who terrorizes the children of Derry, Maine. Every 27 years, Pennywise awakens to feed on fear, taking the form of what his prey dreads most.

McFarlane have released some additional images for three of their upcoming Fortnite figures. Dark Bomber and Jonesy will be part of the 7 inch line, while Raven will be the first of an 11 inch deluxe line of figures.

Welcome to our review of the 2019 release of Black Panther from the Marvel Legends 6 inch line of action figures. Black Panther is part of the 2nd wave of figures from Black Panther, a complete wave of Marvel Cinematic Universe figures with a build-a-figure of M'Baku. Packaging 4/5 The 2nd wave of Black Panther figures retains the design of the original wave with a gold Panther Head backing for the figures, a blue name strip and a blue and gold theme to the side artwork panels. There is a change to the rear of the packaging with the promotional image of the figures now replaced with an illustration from the movie. While this looks great, it is a shame to lose all images of the figure from the box. Even the BAF checklist now uses movie images and not the figures. "After the death of his father T'Chaka, T'Challa must assume the Black Panther mantle as the next king of Wakanda." Black Panther sits in an inner tray and is held in place only by the design of the insert with no ties or bands. An alternative head sits to one side, while the arm of M'Baku sits underneath this. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 This version of Black Panther is the original suit that we first saw in Civil War and that T'Challa dons in the movie to battle Killmonger. The masked head is fantastic, cast in a black plastic with sculpted detail and textures. The silver lines are sharp and crisp and the eyes a blank and unnerving white. Similar detail and panels extend down the body. Again this is all cast in black plastic, but there as has been no attempt to enhance the sculpt with some different black apps - either shade or matt/gloss finish. This leaves the body looking a little flat and with only the odd silver piece here and there. Sadly, where there is silver paint applied to the body the finish is not great with bleeding around nearly all areas like the neck piece and the claws. I will touch on this more in articulation, but the arm articulation does leave the arms sticking out in some poses. This is an issue with the figure base - the original Civil War figure - and has not been rectified There is an unmasked T'Challa head included - and not the one that originally came with the Civil War release. This head is a bearded T'Challa from Black Panther and uses the Face Print Technology. Like a few of the other newer releases, Hasbro have tried to put some expression into the figure with a slight upturn of the mouth to create a half smile / half smirk from T'Challa. This doesn't quite work and for me is not completely in character with the oft serious King of Wakanda. Accessories N/A There are no accessories or parts included outside the two head options. Articulation 3/5 Black Panther has a 19 point of articulation count, consistent with most modern male Legends figures. The arms are ball jointed at the shoulder with a bicep swivel underneath. This joint, as we saw earlier, is a little problematic with the arm not quite falling in to the body enough for a neutral pose. You can work round this with the bicep swivel but even turning the bicep in see's the arm sticking out. Under these shoulder joints is a double jointed elbow and a pivot wrist. I am pleased to see the arms are articulated enough for T'Challa to hold his helmet under his arm. The torso has a ball jointed pivot head with a ratchet T-Joint in the torso. Rotation is achieved by a simple waist joint. Legs are ball jointed hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle rockers. The ankle rockers are not the most stable, the left being very loose on my figure. While Black Panther stands fine now I suspect I may have an issue going forward. Summary Black Panther is essentially a re-release of the original Civil War figure and add's nothing to that release other than the updated T'Challa unmasked head. The same issues exist as did in 2016 such as the shoulder joint and the loose ankle rockers. I'd have liked to see some additional paint apps to give some interest to the black costume, and as a minimum the limited silver paint work should have been applied neatly. That being said, Black Panther is a great looking figure and will work in a Black Panther display or as a Civil War figure if you missed out on the original release. I score him a basic 3 out of 5. Welcome to our review of the Cull Obsidian Build-a-Figure from Marvel Legends. Cull Obsidian was the buildable figure included in 6 parts across the 2nd wave of Avengers Marvel Legends in 2018. Parts were included with all 6 figures - Thor & Black Widow from Infinity War, Ant-Man and Wasp from Ant-Man and the Wasp. And with Malekith and Black Knight comic book figures. Assembly Like any BAF, the parts for Cull Obsidian have to be gathered from the appropriate wave of figures. For a complete Cull you will need all 6 figures of the 2nd Avengers wave, of which Thor seems to be the hardest to find (or rather the most expensive). All parts snap and click into each other with ease, and there is no obvious paint or colour concerns between one part and another - even after buying figures from different batches and sources. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 Let's tackle the big issue first in that this is NOT the Cull Obsidian we see in Avengers Infinity War. It seems this version of Cull Obsidian is based on some early concept work, by the time the movie hit the character had been granted much more armour. Putting that aside, the sculpt on Cull Obsidian is fantastic, with the head extremely close to what we see on screen with its deep reptilian scales and crested head. And yet there is an expressive face within all this with a flared nose and staring eyes from under those crests. The body is similarly detailed with scaling and folds of leathery skin overlaid with armour parts on the shoulder and down the spine area. He wears an armoured skirt for want of a better description which has what looks like scraps of cloth hanging from it. The legs are then a mix of the scaled skin and grafted armour parts - painted either silver or darker grey in places. If you want to strip even more armour off Cull Obsidian then the shoulder piece is removable and there is a fully sculpted arm and chest under there. You will be left with the two plug holes - one front and one back. Cull Obsidian stands 9 inches tall, putting him taller than Thanos and Proxima Midnight. It does seem he has been scaled back vs what we see on screen as Proxima and Thanos only seem to come up to his mid-chest in the scenes I've checked? Various sources seem to agree Cull Obsidian is close to 4m tall, which would make the figure a good 3-4 inches short. Accessories 3/5 Like the costume, Cull Obsidians accessory - his hammer - is not what we see on screen. The accessory is more rudimentary than the more complex hammer weapon he wields in New York. This piece is cast in grey with plenty of detail and ridges, but no paint apps at all. It is not the easiest to fit in Cull Obsidians hand, and only fits in his wider left hand grip. In the movie Cull favoured his right hand, so this choice is odd. Articulation 4/5 Despite his bulk, Cull Obsidian weighs in with 19 points of articulation, the same as most male Marvel Legends bodies. The head is articulated on a ball joint and can look round fully and also quite a way up. Arms sit on ball jointed shoulders with bicep swivel, double jointed elbows and pivot wrist joints. While the armour on the right arm will move with the arm as it raises, the crests on his shoulders will eventually hit the torso making the arms restricted to about a 45 degree movement upwards. The torso boasts two joints, both close to the stomach area. The upper of the two is a ball joint that can rotate and enables him to lean backward and forward. The one underneath is less mobile and is restricted to rotations only. The legs start with ball joints under the skirt piece. That skirt is an individual piece so it wll slide up when the legs are moved outward, but it will stop full sitting or crouching positions. Beneath the hips are a thigh swivel and double jointed knees. The feet are sat on ankle rockers and these will align the feet to wider stances or action posing, they just need a bit of tweaking. These ankles don't feel ratcheted and I would worry over their longevity of supporting such a heavy and bulky figure. Don't leave Cull Obsidian alone on a shelf edge... Summary Cull Obsidian is a big bold figure that looks fantastic in terms of sculpt and paint. He is well articulated and has a pretty meaty weapon to boot. The issue is this is some way off what we saw on screen - the armour is wrong, he is too short and the weapon is inaccurate also. All of this is disappointing and is sadly a symptom of Hasbro working with preliminary artwork and concepts in order to get the figures out on the movie release date. For me, while I do like new figures on or ahead of a movie, I'd perhaps prefer a more measured approach as we know what Hasbro can do with finished movie details - as seen in the recent "First Ten Years" sets. Cull Obsidian is a great figure in its own right, and I award it a 3 out of 5 purely on the accuracy to the movie which is wrong in most areas. I do hope that at some point Hasbro will look favourably on amending the figure to a more accurate movie look (and height maybe) as I think he and Proxima are going to look off when eventually displayed with the upcoming Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive as these look superb and have obviously been developed after the movie. Could we be about to see new Marvel Legends figures arrive on Asda Toy Shelves? Over the past year or so we've seen Asda stores stock both Avengers waves of Marvel Legends, with the 2nd wave recently reduced to clear in most stores. I noticed on a trip to Asda today that the Toy Aisle had been relaid again with a section containing Pops! and Marvel Toys now carrying a new label for "Avengers Legends" at £19.97. While this may be an old label it seems odd to have it on a newly planned section. And after some searching I found a 2nd label with same description further along at the reduced £9.98 price. The reference codes on both were different with the £9.98 dated February 2019 while the £19.97 label was dated March 2019. While this may be nothing, it may indicate that Asda will be continuing the stocking of Avengers Legends, with the next logical wave being the Endgame figures which we know are in UK stockists now but under embargo until 1st April. Worth keeping an eye on your Asda Toy Aisle?

Welcome to our review of the 2018 Ant-Man Marvel Legends 6 inch figure, released as part of the 2nd wave of 2018 Avengers figures. Ant-Man is as seen in the 2018 Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel and comes with both masked and unmasked head. He also includes the left leg for the waves Build-a-Figure, Cull Obsidian from Avengers Infinity War. Packaging 5/5 While Ant-Man (and Wasp) sit in an Avengers wave, there packaging design is specific to the Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp. While the box design and background colours remain consistent, the Ant-Man figures get a red character name band and red themed side panel images. The same red flame effect carries through to the back of the pack where we have an image of the figure in a running pose - to the side of this sits the character text. "Scott Lang suits up as Ant-Man with a specialized suit engineered by Pym Technologies that let's him blast into any battle, big or small." While the yellow cardback for the figure looks similar to that seen on Thor & Black Widow in the same wave, it is a different shade of yellow and instead of an Avengers "A" logo it carries the Pym logo in the centre. The figure sits in the inner tray with the helmet neatly tucked under his arm. There are no straps or ties holding Ant-Man in place. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 It seems the next evolution from the Face Print Technology is Hasbro trying to sculpt character specific facial expressions onto their figures rather than going with a neutral face on all figures. The Scott Lang head included with this set has been sculpted to include Rudd's smirking face, and while the likeness is there the head itself is a touch out of proportion and looks stretched and elongated which then makes this expression more exaggerated and almost comical. The Ant-Man suit, the newer version from Ant-Man and the Wasp, is really well done with crisp panels and textures throughout and a good paint job varying from bright red to black and silver. For anyone hoping to swap the Ant-Man head on this set with the more neutral head from the First 10 Years set - sadly the pegs are considerably different and that means without work you will be stuck with what you get with each figure. Thankfully, for those not liking the Lang head, the Ant-Man helmeted head is well done. It is coloured in a silver base colour with darker grey panels and red striping. The eyes sadly are not clear like we saw with Wasp and instead are quite a dull purple colour - the only downside with the helmet. Accessories N/A Ant-Man includes no accessories in the set, and that is probably OK considering he uses no real weapons or accessories of any type in the movie. Articulation 5/5 Ant-Man comes in with the full 19 points of articulation and is extremely easy to pose. Both head options have movement on the ball jointed pivot neck. Arms are made up of ball jointed shoulders, bicep swivels, double jointed elbows and wrist pivot pegs. The legs similarly have a ball joint hip, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle rocker. The main trunk of the figure has a T-joint chest to allow the body to lean forward and back - supported by a waist swivel to add the rotation if needed. Posing is easy with all the joints moving freely, and none are loose or floppy allowing Ant-Man to stand perfectly well. I love the helmet under the arm pose which is how he comes in the box of course, and the scale to the accompanying Wasp figure is great. Summary The 2018 Ant-Man is a much improved version of our tiny hero than the original release or indeed the First 10 Years set. The exaggerated smirking Paul Rudd head will not be to everyone's taste - but I do hope Hasbro will press on with these expressive heads for future releases. With a great looking box, good sculpting and paint execution and excellent articulation then Ant-Man is a deserved 4 out of 5 release. This weeks #OnThePegs trip was to Smyths. There Fortnite section had expanded considerably since my last visit and they are now stocking the full McFarlane 7 inch line of figures at £24.99 each. The only other new addition of note was in the Jurassic World section where the new Dino Rivals Dual Attack Triceratops and Suchomimus had arrived, again priced at £24.99 each.

Ahead of the expected 1st April release/pre-order date, images have been released for the Marvel Legends 6 inch Avengers wave 1 for 2019. The wave is a mix of figures from the MCU and comics. The MCU is represented by Ebony Maw from Infinity War as well as Captain America and Ronin from Avengers Endgame. It is interesting that the Endgame logo is not used on the packaging - most likely as these would have been designed & developed prior to the announcement of the name. There are also the usual discrepancies that Hasbro and their fans have to suffer by working with early designs and the suit Captain America is wearing is silver vs the white we see in the latest trailer. The MCU is also represented by the BAF which is an armoured Thanos who is built by collecting 6 parts from the figures (Captain America does not include a BAF part). The comic book representation is Living Laser, Citizen V, Nighthawk and Hercules.

The MAFEX line of 1/12 Marvel comic book figures will see the release of Cyclops to increase the X-Men team alongside Wolverine. The Jim Lee Cyclops will be released in early 2020, so there is a bit of a wait, but the figure looks worth it. We have three head options and further enhancements to the look with blast effects that clip onto the visor.

McFarlane have released the first images of their Season 3 Hopper figure in the 7 inch Stranger Things line. This casual Hopper in his gaudy 80's shirt is pictured with a revolver, the initial promo text indicated he would come with a Walkie Talkie and a Wine Bottle. We await more info. "As Chief of Police in Hawkins, Indiana, Jim Hopper has dealt with some extraordinary experiences, after helping rescue and recover Will Byers, Hopper found himself becoming the legal guardian of his now adopted daughter Eleven. Even with his experiences in dealing with all that the “upside down” brings, Hopper’s job as Chief of Police has never been more demanding."

Diamond Select Toys have released this new promotional image of their 7 inch Select figures from Westworld. This first wave is made up of Delores, Dr Robert Ford and the Man in Black. Each figure will come in Select packaging and will feature a piece of a larger maze artifact that can be built when all three pieces are in hand. Other accessories include groceries for Delores, Ford's dog and The Man in Black's maze scalp. The figures are due for an August 2019 release. "A Diamond Select Toys release! They're the Best in the West! Riding out from the hit TV series, this assortment of action figures captures three of the main characters from Westworld in 7" scale.
