When Galaxy's Edge launches at the two US Disney Parks in May (Anaheim) and August (Orlando), they will carry three different Star Wars Black Series Exclusive 6 inch figure sets. The First Order Set The First order Set includes three figures starting wth a tweaked version of The Last Jedi Kylo Ren who comes with his helmet rather than the unmasked head we saw released in 2017. Joining Kylo Ren is Commander Pyre, the new First Order Commander as seen in the Resistance animated TV show. The Mountain Trooper is a new First Order era Trooper that is seen as an evolution of the Scarif Troopers from Rogue One. The Mountain Trooper will (we assume) be a feature of Galaxy's Edge. The set also includes the first MSE droid in 6 inch scale, and the Mouse Droid will include rolling wheels. The set will be sold in exclusive packaging at Galaxy's Edge. As yet we have no word on any availability outside of the US so these sets maybe amongst the toughest for UK collectors to obtain.

The Droid Depot Set The Droids pack includes a repack of the original R2-D2 figure and a repainted decor BB8. There is a new C-3PO who will be updated to include the new elbow articulation (as used on 0-0-0 from Wave 21) and some updated thigh sculpt. The set is rounded up by DJ R3X, the original Star Tours Droid. The set will be sold in exclusive packaging at Galaxy's Edge, even forgoing the Hasbro and Disney logo's to give, in Hasbro's words "an immersive experience". The price looks to be $69.99 for the set. As yet we have no word on any availability outside of the US so these sets maybe amongst the toughest for UK collectors to obtain.

Star Wars Celebration saw us get a first look at the new Star Wars game from EA, Jedi Fallen Order. After the trailer was aired, pre-orders started to go live for the game, and it seems that at Gamestop the PS4 and X-Box versions can be purchased bundled with an as yet unknown Black Series figure. As it stands this is via Gamestop for US customers only, and is not offered on any of their other international sites. We should find out more by Force Friday (October) ahead of the games November release. If the figure follows suit with previous EA tie ins for Battlefront, then we'd assume this would be a tweaked figure not a complete new sculpt, and most likely a Trooper. At this stage the Purge Trooper - as seen below - is a strong favourite.

Wave 21 of the Star Wars Black Series (Phase 3) will arrive in Summer 2019 and be made up of six new figures. Five of the figures announced at the back end of 2018 are included. Doctor Aphra will make the transition from Marvel Comics to a realistic Black Series sculpt and she will be joined by BT-1 and 0-0-0. The Rebels crew will get two steps closer to completion with Ezra Bridger and Chopper. The final slot will be the new Episode 1 Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan is currently being sold on an Exclusive Episode 1 cardback at Celebration 2019, but those who just want the figure can wait for the boxed Wave 21 release. Wave 21 will be packed in the Phase 3 packaging, as has been in placed since the Force Awakens. Announced at Star Wars Celebration, a new Boba Fett 6 inch figure is coming to SDCC 2019 on a special Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary cardback. The figure itself is coloured as an homage to the original Vintage release from 1980. The set will be sold at SDCC 2019, but will then be available after San Diego at a number of other worldwide conventions including Unboxing in Mexico, MCM in London and conventions in Germany and Spain.

Following the Hasbro Panel at Star Wars Celebration, promotional images were released of the previously announced Clone Commander Obi-Wan Kenobi figure. This 6 inch Black Series release is based on the first animated Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars series from 2003 and has Obi-Wan in Clone Trooper armour, complete with soft goods Jedi cloak. Obi-Wan will also be packed with his lightsaber, and it looks like one of the new triangular foot stands. The figure will be exclusive to Walgreens in the US and will start to arrive in the Autumn of 2019 - potentially coinciding with Force Friday on the 4th of October. At this stage there is no confirmation of a UK / Worldwide release, but other exclusives such as the recent Rocket Trooper and Trash Compactor Luke have been made available to the UK market.

The Super7 Masters of the Universe Collector’s Choice series continues with the William Stout Collection of highly detailed deluxe 7-inch figures! Based on the legendary 1987 William Stout production art, each highly articulated figure was sculpted by the Four Horsemen and comes complete with accessories. The set includes He-Man, Hyper Skeletor, Karg, and Skeletor and packaging will be posted and shared when finalized.

As was widely expected, the fourth figure in the 2nd wave of Archive releases from the Star Wars Black Series will be Darth Maul. Maul will join the Scout Trooper, Yoda and Anakin in the four figure wave due later this year. It gives a cheaper alternative to collectors who want Maul and not necessarily the Episode 1 retro carded version that is exclusive to Celebration 2019. Maul will be identical to the Celebration release with both head options, sabre and macrobinoculars. The Scout Trooper is a first in terms of being available as a single figure having previously only come in the vehicle set with the Speeder Bike. Anakin and Yoda both get the photo realistic face print treatment.

Officially announced at Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago, Amazon will be carrying an exclusive Emperor Palpatine and Throne in the Star Wars Black Series. The figure is a retool of the original Palpatine release, with three different head options for the figure. The lower soft goods have been adjusted from the original release so that Palpatine can sit in the included Throne. There is also a Force Lightning FX piece included for punishing those who won't join the Dark Side. The figure can be pre-ordered now and will be released in October 2019 on Force Friday. UK retailers have indicated they will have stocks of this. But if you want to guarantee a set then why not preorder from Amazon US. This works out at circa £45 including delivery and import tax. And with Amazon you don't pay until dispatch, and are guaranteed o pay the lowest price this falls to between now and October. From the upcoming Lionsgate film based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy joins the One:12 Collective.
