NECA have announced the release, in July 2019, of the Alien Queen from Alien : Resurrection. This is a repainted release of the original 1986 Queen, now in brown tones to match what we see in the 4th outing of the franchise, Resurrection. This variant release will give collectors an opportunity of owning the impressive 30 inch long Queen figure and completists the opportunity of a 2nd Queen for their collection. NECA have revealed the packaging for their Deluxe Alien Resurrection Queen release. The figure is a repaint of the original Aliens version and is due to start shipping as we enter July 2019.

Images have been shared for the first B&M Doctor Who 5 inch Dalek set for 2019. These Dalek sets include a Doctor and a Dalek figure and are based on the Big Finish audio series rather than an on screen appearance. This first set was named in the original announcement and is the 8th Doctor and the Dalek Interrogator Prime as per the Garden of Death audio adventure. The 8th Doctor is in his updated outfit of jeans and a blue jacket. This is in actual fact a repaint of the original 9th Doctor figure with a revised head sculpt for Paul McGann. Looking at the shots the Doctor is missing his satchel that usually accompanies this outfit, and while there is a gripping hand for it - no sonic screwdriver appears present.. The Dalek is a New Series Dalek in a very nice Blue & Silver colour scheme. The packaging for these sets is also getting an overhaul vs the 2018 sets. I do like the art work down the spine with the Big Finish Logo. We should get a breakdown on the reverse of the box of the two figures and the story on which they are based. More details should be incoming in the next few days and weeks, with Character Options promising an online unboxing event for all the 2019 B&M sets. Press Release as follows. Following the announcement earlier in June of this summer’s Big Finish inspired Doctor Who merchandise from Character Options, a first preview image has been made available as a taste of what is to come. The image released is that of the Eighth Doctor and Dalek set featuring a new version of the Doctor action figure in his ‘Dark Eyes’ inspired costume, along with Interrogator Dalek from the Big Finish audio episode, In the Garden of Death. Steve Berry, Head of Marketing at Big Finish said: “We are delighted to be working with Character Options on this project and cannot wait to see the items in store. Since the news broke that the sets will soon be available, we have been inundated with requests for an image. We hope that this small taste will add to the excitement of the Character Options online reveal taking place in July.” The new Big Finish items will be all part of a wider line-up of Character Options Doctor Who figures and accessories coming to B&M retail stores this summer. Hasbro have confirmed a new Marvel Legends MCU set as an exclusive for San Diego Comic Con 2019. The set is a two pack of the two elders of the universe - the Collector (Benicio del Toro) as seen in Guardians of the Galaxy and Infinity War, and the Grand Master (Jeff Goldblum) as seen in Thor Ragnarok. The Grandmaster is more or less identical to the figure due to be released with Korg in an 80th Anniversary 2-pack later this year. However, they have given him a smiling face vs the more serious look he has in the Korg back. He comes with his melt-stick and a puddle of goo that may or may not have been his cousin, Carlo. The Collector is a brand new figure and includes two head sculpts as well as the orb containing the power stone that he took possession of in Guardians of the Galaxy from the Guardians. This is most likely a re-use accessory taken from the original Star Lord release from GOTG. The figure are presented in two halves or a circular box using colouring and design akin to the First Ten Years / 80th Anniversary sets. The set opens out to two show off a back panel containing a recreation of the movie poster. The inserts for each figure look interesting with the Collector having a backdrop of Cosmo and his cage - and the Grandmaster the chair they had Thor strapped to when the two met. These are however more like cardboard inserts than anything overly useful for display purposes - similar to what they did last year for the Netflix Defenders Subway carriage. Hasbro has confirmed the set will be on sale after SDCC 2019 via Hasbro Pulse and quantities will be made available for other conventions Worldwide - we'd assume that means MCM London later this year for the UK collectors. We had see the SH Figuarts Infinity War Scarlet Witch on display at a few Far East conventions over the past few months, but she now has a confirmed release date of January 2020 - but she will be a Bandai Webstore Exclusive. A full promo gallery has been released for the figure and it has been confirmed she will come with two replacement hair pieces and swap out eye pieces for the head to change her look. There will also be alternative hands and three magical FX pieces.

SH Figuarts have released a full gallery of images for their 1/12 Marvel Spider-Man ; Far from Home Stealth Suit Spidey. On a very rough translation from a couple of Japanese sites it seems that there will be two head options included - the one with visors down and one with visors up. There are then two alternative visor settings you can swap out on the first head to give alternative looks to the eye lens. There will be four sets of hands as well as spider web FX pieces. The figure will be a general release and should ship in January 2020.

Previews and Diamond Select have just announced a raft of new product exclusive for San Diego Comic Con 2019. While most are statues, figure collectors - especially Ghostbuster collectors - will be excited by the announcement of a new four figure box set that brings all the four original Ghostbusters into a "Slimed" box set. In the range so far we have had "Slimed" Peter, and while he is repacked in this set we also get slimed decor versions of Ray, Peter and Winston too. Each figure gets the same accessories as the single releases with Proton Pack, walkie Talkie, swap out hands and more (by more we assume Ghost Traps and PKE meters). The set is an SDCC exclusive and will be on display at the Diamond booth, and on sale at vendors on the convention floor. The set is limited to 1984 pieces, and we would assume if there are any pieces not sold at SDCC we may get a chance to buy these after the event online. This is the Deluxe Messy Swedish Chef and he comes with a food splattered apron and a whole range of food, dishes, a cooking table and even a chicken. The box is very NECA Ultimate line inspired with an opening front flap to reveal the figure and accessories within. Diamond Select Toys have announced a special Ghostbusters Select Exclusive for 2019. Not to be confused with the SDCC 2019 Previews Diamond Select "Slimed" Ghostbuster set, this Spectral version includes all four original Ghostbuster figures - but now with the hands and heads a spectral green energy colour. Our four heros are joined in the pack by a Spectral blue translucent terror dog and an exclusive angry faced Stay Puft Marshmallow man. The set will be on sale at the Diamond Select booth in San Diego for $120.

Diamond Select Toys have announced an exclusive Battle Damaged Gypsy Avenger Pacific Rim figure will be on sale at SDCC, limited to just 250 pieces. As we get closer and closer to San Diego Comic Con 2019 Hasbro have announced another exclusive figure for the show, this time in their Overwatch Ultimates series of 6 inch figures. The SDCC Reinhardt figure will see the deluxe figure repainted to represent his Bundeswehr Skin. He will also come with unmasked head - something not included in the general release. His Hammer and Shield will also be included. Reinhardt will retail for $60 at the Hasbro booth in SDCC and a limited quantity will go up via Hasbro Pulse after the show. Like the other SDCC Hasbro exclusives, they have also said they will make stock available for other conventions outside of the US - we therefore don't expect this to be overly difficult for UK collectors as it will probably be available at MCM London and most likely via a lot of online retailers who will import general stock from the Far East.

NECA have released more promotional images for their Shape of Water Amphibian Man, part of their Guillermo del Toro collection of action figures. The 8 inch tall figure will be packed with a display base and removable shackles and he will come with two head options.
