NECA have released packaging design images for their upcoming Toony Terrors line. The line will launch later this Summer with cartoon styled figures of Pennywise 1990 and 2017, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Each card back has a cut out segment on the reverse to give the figure a display backing piece.

TK Maxx are receiving a variety of Star Wars 3.75 inch products on the yellow Solo movie packaging. These include single Forcelink 2.0 figures at £7.99 and the same price on the 2-packs including Lando & Kessel guard and the Rose and BB8 & BB9-E set. Of most interest are the exceptional well priced small vehicle / creature sets at a staggering £5.99. These include the Rathtar set and Probe Droid Set - and if you are lucky the Enfys Nest Speeder, Han & Speeder and the Wampa and Luke set. I also noticed the arrival of the Aquaman movie basic figures for £5.99 each and found Aquaman, Orm, General Murk and Black Manta on the pegs at the store I was in. I am hearing rumours of these being even cheaper at Home Bargains so will check this out ASAP.

Game seem to be stocking a whole range of McFarlane action figures now, with the latest Stranger Things releases of Eleven and Hopper arriving on Game store shelves for £19.99. The Stranger Things figures join the Game of Thrones and Fortnite figures already in the Game store aisles. And the Fortnite range has now been extended to include more recent releases of Jonesy and The Dark Bomber, albeit at a higher price of £24.99 vs the older first wave figures.

Molten Man was the build-a-figure packed with the Marvel Legends Spider-Man wave in Summer 2019 to tie in with the release of the 2nd MCU standalone Spider-Man film, Far from Home. The 7 figure wave included three other figures from the movie and four comic book based figures. You had to collect a part from 6 of the releases to build Molten Man - the 7th figure, Spider-Man in his new red/black suit, did not include a BAF part. BEWARE SPOILERS : I have reviewed this figure AFTER watching the movie so will reference scenes and plot points where they are applicable to the figure. Assembly Molten Man breaks down like most BAF figures into six part - a head, body, arms and legs. The Torso being the key component into which everything else snaps and connects. The fit is good and each joint lines up well. Once connected I would advise against disassembly as the joints seem to be designed as a one way connection. The trickiest part on Molten Man for assembly is a 7th piece on his right arm. This piece of a girder from the fairground ride he absorbs slots into a socket at the top of the arm and has to be orientated the right way to insert fully and lock in place. Paint & Sculpt 2/5 It is probably fair to say Molten Man is not universally loved as BAF with many fans disappointed in the sculpt and design of Molten Man. The look does make more sense once you have seen the movie as Molten Man is an elemental (well a projection of one) that rises in Prague and takes form by absorbing a metal statue in the square - hence that deformed undersized almost human head. This also explains the more golden look of the figure with the red hot lava running underneath. The sticking out parts, as mentioned in our assembly point, also make sense as these are girder parts of the fairground ride he goes on to absorb as he gets larger. This variance and absorption is represented by the oversized right arm and leg on the figure - although that doesn't quite work for me vs the way Molten Man grew in the movie (but I do need a 2nd and 3rd watch of the film at this point). In terms of size, Molten Man does reach the pretty standard 8 inch height for a large BAF which makes him quite a bit taller than Mysterio and Spider-Man - just not as big as he achieved on screen. The head, up close, has more detail than you may first think with teeth sculpted under that dripping jaw. Paints apps are quite simple across the figure with the bronze colour being the base plastic on the arms and legs and the orange painted over the top. This is reversed on the torso and head where these are cast in orange plastic with bronze over the top. Thankfully all parts match when assembled. While the paint may be neat and match the base plastic and vice versa, for me there is too much bronze and not enough glowing lava on the figure. If you look at Molten Man on screen he is more a glowing orange lava figure than molten metal and that is how others have interpreted the character - see Lego, Funko or even Hasbro's own "budget" version. Once more you wonder how far ahead of the movie this was developed and what concepts it was built using. Accessories N/A There are no accessories with Molten Man, nor can I immediately think of anything I'd have iked to have seen. Articulation 4/5 Considering his size, bulk and misshapen limbs - Molten Man is pretty agile and comes with 19 points of articulation Head : ball jointed neck (no pivot) Body : ball joint torso and ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, bicep swivel, single rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single rotating knee, ankle rocker The biggest barrier to articulation is not the joints themselves, but the bulk of the figure with that giant arm makes him very top heavy and prone to overbalancing. In neutral poses the left arm can sit on the floor and make a third point of balance, but when raised or pose then some balancing of the legs and torso are needed to offset the weight. Molten Man can get a number of poses, mainly using the arms, to fight off Mysterio and Spider-Man.... I mean Night Monkey. Summary The Molten Man BAF is an average representation of a character that appears on screen for one scene in the movie. It is obviously also based on some concept work as the final look are not a brilliant match to what we see on screen. That being said, as a figure he does have a pretty impressive set of articulation. With the execution overall quite visual. The issue here for many is that he isn't a true villain, turning out to be one of Mysterio's illusions and perhaps the BAF slot might have been best served filling in a gap with another character from the film - although that would have had to be a standard sized figure like Ned, MJ or even an updated Nick Fury or Maria Hill (with Skrull head and hands for an added bonus) I score the Molten Man BAF from Spider-Man Far from Home a just under average 2 out of 5. We have only had one wave of Game of Thrones figures so far from McFarlane, but the repaints are already in full flow as they announce this Kings Landing variant version of Arya Stark - representing that memorable walk Arya took through the ruins of Kings Landing at the end of Season 8. Like the general release, Arya comes with her sword Needle and her Valyrian Dagger. She is due for an October 2019 release. Toys in the Attic are already taking pre-orders. "The battle for the Iron Throne is over, and the epic saga that was Game of Thrones has come to an end. To celebrate the series finale, McFarlane continue their line of Game of Thrones 6" action figures with a new variant of Arya from the infamous and bleak scenes as she walked through King's Landing following the destruction caused by Daenerys. The Arya King’s Landing Variant 6” Action Figure depicts the deadly Stark covered in blood and ash from the ruins of King's Landing, as seen in the final episode of season 8, The Iron Throne. Arya also comes equipped with her Needle sword and Valyrian steel dagger, and features multiple articulations so you can recreate your favourite moments from the infamous finale."

Hasbro have announced a San Diego Comic Con 2019 exclusive for their new Power Rangers Lightning Collection. The two pack will include 6 inch versions of Jason as the original Red Ranger (1993) and the Gold Ranger from Power Rangers Zeo (1996). The set includes masked and unmasked heads for both Rangers. We then have an array of weapons including the Power Axe, Power Bow, Power Blades, Power Lance and Power Sword. These can join together to create a Power blaster. The Red Ranger also comes with his shield. The set is exclusive to SDCC and will be on sale at the Hasbro Booth for $49.99, limited stock will be available after the event via the Hasbro Pulse webstore.

Medicom have released the promotional their MAFEX 1/12 Thor figure from Infinity War. Thor comes with three head options - one normal, one with lightning possessed eyes and a third with his eye-patch. You can also swap out the arms from bare - as seen in the early parts of the movie - to armoured when he arrives in Wakanda to face Thanos. This final battle Thor has a soft goods red cape. This can also be swapped out with an over the head chest piece to revert Thor to capeless version from Nidavellir. Weaponry is of course Stormbreaker, and we also have some clip on lightning FX pieces to further enhance the figure. Thor has a scheduled release date of February 2020.

McFarlane have released details of their brand new My Hero Academia range of action figures. The line is a 7 inch scale and the first four figures - Tomura Shigaraki, All Might, Katsuki Bakugo and Izuku Midoriya, are due for an October 2019 release TOMURA SHIGARAKI His origins are unclear, and he is a mysterious Villain. Though his reasons are not known, he plans to kill All Might. He is the secondary leader of the League of Villains. He appears to have a Quirk that causes anything he touches with all 5 fingers to disintegrate. Here are some more new images of those Asian Market Marvel Avengers Endgame figures. These seem to be around 6.5 inch to 7 inch in scale and the company involved is referred to as Ami Toys. These are available on a number of sites for import into the UK.

There are a handful of Star Wars bargains currently in the Disney Store sale - both online, but also in store. I visited the Meadowhall store in Sheffield and came across a stand of Star Wars goodies all at reduced red label sale prices. Black Series collectors can find some of the first Solo wave figures like Lando and Island Journey Rey for as little as £5.99. There is also the surprisingly well stocked Padme Amidala figure for £13.99. I wonder what the story is behind this reduction on such a new figure and why Disney only seem to have her, in depth (there was 12 in Sheffield), out of the full wave. For 3.75" collectors there were some Forcelink 2.0 single figures at £7.00. These are the same ones on deeper reductions in The Entertainer and TK Maxx. And then a surprise (for me at least) as I found the Resistance figures for the first time in the UK on the shelf, down to £6.29 each. Under these were a small number of the Vintage collection Sequel figures at £10.49
