"Austin 316 says let's go bust some ghosts!" In a joint announcement, WWE and Mattel have revealed a new crossover project in their WWE Elite Series, with WWE Superstars as Ghostbusters. This joint project celebrates the 35th Anniversary of Ghostbusters and sits alongside other crossovers including the Transformers Ecto-1 (Hasbro) and the Turtle Ghostbuster figures from last year (Playmates). The line up is a real "slobberknocker" with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Shawn Michaels and John Cena. And who are they busting, well a translucent Undertaker figure, complete with spectral WWE championship belt. The figures are approximately 7 inch scale and do include some soft good elements. Each Ghostbuster has a proton pack and beam thrower.

Mezco have shown off their new 5Points action figure line at SDCC. It was announced back at Toy Fair with some prototype images and these have now developed into some pretty impressive looking figures from some equally impressive licences. The line is 3.75 inch (so a little outside our usual sphere) but you have to love the look of these. Licences include a DC licence, with Classic Batman figures and potentially a Batmobile in the future. We also have Birdman, Space Ghost and the Addams Family. The line will also include figures from Scooby Doo, The Warriors and the Million Dollar Man figures as we saw originally at Toy Fair. These all remain on track for a 2020 release.

Play Arts Kai are releasing new Final Fantasy VII Remake action figures, and revealed a number of them at SDCC 2019. They include Tifa Lockheart, Aerith Gainsborough, Sephiroth and Cloud with his Bike. The Cloud and Bike will be an exclusive packed with a "1st Class Edition" of the game when it releases in March 2020. As yet, there is no confirmation of a general release Cloud.

While the figures have been open on pre-order, we hadn't really seen what the McFarlane Mortal Kombat 7 inch figures looked like. At SDCC 2019, the McFarlane team had the first two figures on display. Scorpion and Sub Zero look pretty awesome, and look to be very well articulated to achieve those fighting stances. Scorpion is armed to the teeth from these images with various Katana#s and his Chain Weapon. Sub Zero looks to include some blue translucent FX pieces to replicate his fighting techniques and "Finish Him" moves. The figures are on track for an October 2019 release.

NECA has revealed some exciting new additions to their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series range of figures. We had seen images of Shredder, Slash and Leatherhead at the Yestercades event. This trio will be joined by Metalhead, who is displayed alongside Krang who is holding blueprints for Metalhead. It is not clear how these will be distributed, but should follow the 2-pack format NECA has already established. Joining the line in 2020 will be April O'Neill and Casey Jones. April will be packed with a TV Camera, microphone and newspaper. Kasey includes his hockey sticks and what looks to be a backpack full of baseball bats. Like the Turtles he has his own pizza. The range is exclusive to Target in the US. Thanks to new worldwide licencing, these should also be available via your local specialist store and online. It does seem unlikely to me that April and Casey will be packed together, and I suspect we may see them paired off in 2-packs with more foot soldiers?

There are a number of new NECA Horror Figures on show at SDCC 2019. The exciting news is the return of Pinhead and the Hellraiser licence, with a new unpainted prototype Ultimate Pinhead on display. Pinhead, complete with the Lemarchand's Puzzle Box, is listed as an Autumn 2019 release - which seems optimistic if the figure is only at this stage? Also joining the Ultimates line is Annabelle from the Conjuring Universe. She comes with three head options and her own display case and chair. Annabelle is a December 2019 release. We know there will be two more Ultimates Horror reveals, with eagle eye attendees spotting Ultimate format boxes for Bride of Chucky and Evil Dead II. We will update this article once we know more. We also got another look at the Halloween II Michael Myers. The Toony Terror line will move to two packs, with a Bride of Chucky pack coming in November.

Diamond Select Toys have unveiled a new line of 7 inch scale Select figures at SDCC 2019 based on Disney Production Movies. The Rocketeer is based on the 1991 Disney produced movie starring Bill Campbell. The figure includes an unmasked head and an alternative helmet head. The rocket backpack is removable, and for flying poses there is a diorama rocket burst stand. There looks to be blast FX pieces too if you do not wish to use the stand - and of course blueprints of the rocket-pack. And in another Disney tie in, a further new line will see the introduction of figures from The Black Hole (1979). We have a large figure of Maximillian who has at least two head options and some add on FX pieces. There is then what I assume is a 2-pack of BOB and VINcent. They too include add on parts and devices and what looks to be a diorama piece of the ships bridge. We will have to wait for these sadly, as they are not scheduled for release until the Winter of 2020.

The Entertainer have started to receive the new Star Wars products that have been "coming soon" on their website for some time. The Star Wars Black Series Kylo Ren and Throne Room is landing at £14.99 and the Rey & Kylo Centrepiece exclusive for £39.99 Joining the on store shelves will be the former US Disney Store Exclusive Stormtrooper with blast FX parts. The best news is that this has been priced now ready for store arrival at a stunning £12.49 You can sign up now for these coming into stock online, or keep an eye on your local stores for a bargain as these aren't going to hang around for long. And of course we still have the Han Solo and Mynock set to arrive...

As well as the Jim Lee X-Men cover posters recreated with Marvel Legends, Hasbro have also announced three other comic book cover inspired posters featuring Captain America, Iron-Man and Thor. These will be part of the Marvel 80th Anniversary celebration and will carry the 80th Anniversary logo. They feature existing classic comic book figures of Captain America, Iron-Man and Thor - all of which will be released as single figures in the Hasbro Marvel 80th Anniversary line. The Thor poster also includes an Ulik figure from the 2017 Battle for Asgard SDCC set. Like the X-Men posters, these will be given away at the Hasbro booth across Friday and Saturday.

Hasbro have announced, via IGN, that they will be giving away a number of posters at SDCC where the classic 1991 X-Men Issue number 1 comic book cover by Jim Lee has been replicated using Marvel Legends figures. This will be part of the 80th anniversary celebration for Marvel and each poster will carry the 80th Anniversary logo The posters are four parts, two given away free at the Hasbro booth on Friday. With the other two on Saturday. All four parts will combine to make the final image. There is an "Easter egg" on the posters with what seems to be a first look at a new Jim Lee Jean Grey figure. The figure is rumoured to be part of a 3 pack along with Cyclops and Wolverine - and we'd expect it to be confirmed at SDCC 2019 at the Hasbro Marvel Panel.

Zuckuss, the final member of the Empire Strikes Back Bounty Hunters, was originally panned as a Toys R Us exclusive worldwide, but due to the demise of Toys R Us its release was originally limited across most territories. It was later picked up as a Disney Store exclusive, but only in the US. Collectors in the UK had to wait nearly a full year until official UK stocks hit via the fan distribution channel. Packaging 4/5 Zuckuss is packed in the standard phase 3 packaging. As he is an exclusive there is no numbering for this release. The artwork on the front is a very impressive rendering of the character, making him look quite sinister. A larger version is found on the back of the box alongside some basic character info text. "A Gand bounty hunter, Zuckuss heeded the Empire's call for mercenaries to locate the Millennium Falcon and bring her fugitive crew to justice, receiving his orders on the bridge of Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer" Paint & Sculpt 5/5 Straight out of the box it is clear this is a very special figure indeed with a wealth of sculptural detail in that insectoid head with the inset multi-segmented eyes and the breathing mask. From this mask snakes a number of appendages that snake down the figures back and to the side to a small breathing tube apparatus of sorts. The body is essentially completely covered in a soft goods, but unlike some of the more recent soft goods cloaks, this one sits perfectly and has a real leathery feel to it - reminiscent of the original vintage version to some degree. Over the soft goods is the chest apparatus which extends down past the waist with a segmented panel piece. Round the back, and built into this chest strapping is a control panel, painted in gunmetal with another small flexible pipework extending out and into the body suit. If you are brave enough to remove the soft goods, or at the very least peer up the skirt and arms, you will find a fully sculpted body underneath as well as some neat three finger hands. The paint work around the head and body is also impressive with some excellent washed shading around the head to bring out the details. One initial thought when you first get Zuckuss lined up with other figures is that he may be too small. This is potentially a result of the way Zuckuss is positioned during the Bounty Hunter scene and the way we of course remember the Vintage figure. At 5 inches tall this Black Series version is quite a bit shorter than the other Bounty Hunters, but if you refer to his height on Star Wars Fandom.com this 5 inch height converts perfectly at 1/12 scale to the recorded height of 1.5m. Accessories 5/5 Zuckuss includes one accessory, his GRS-1 Snare Rifle - the weapon he is seen cradling on his sole appearance in Empire on the Star Destroyer Bridge. This is cast really well with crisps smooth lines down and a good replication of the ridged lower grip. It is cast in black plastic with some brown detailing on the stock. You immediately go for the right hand when adding this to Zuckuss, and will be met with some frustration. Instead, the figure has been sculpted to hold the gun with his left three fingered hand - as he did in the film. One of the three fingers even slots into the trigger once this is in place. Thanks to some impressive arm articulation under the soft goods, Zuckuss can wield the rifle one or two handed. Articulation 5*/5 The biggest surprise in this tiny but perfectly formed 5 inch figure is the articulation. You would expect such a small and bulky figure to be pretty static, but Zuckuss has an impressive 18 points of articulation hidden away, two more than your standard Black Series release. Head : Ball jointed neck with pivot Arms : Ball jointed shoulder, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pivot wrists Torso : Ball jointed waist Legs : Ball jointed hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle rockers The addition of a double jointed elbow makes a huge difference for weapon stances and for posing as a whole as you can have Zuckuss adjusting his mask or even putting up his three fingers hands for a bit of hand-to-hand combat. The legs too are very mobile under those soft goods and you play around with wider stances, with the figure even having the ability to kneel if you can tuck the soft goods out of the way. Articulation is unhindered by any of the tubing or appendages which all move with the body. And to cap it off he stands perfectly too, no balance issues or loose joints - all very stable in a number of poses. Summary For me, this is arguably the finest Star Wars Black Series release of recent years - possibly of all time. It not only nails the sculpt and paint job, but supports that with brilliant articulation and posing options and a screen accurate accessory and even soft goods that works and doesn't detract from the figure overall. Zuckuss was certainly worth waiting for, and now the Bounty Hunter line up is complete it is clear that Zuckuss (even at 5 inches tall) stands figuratively over the others in terms of finish and quality. NECA have shared the packaging image for their quarter scale IT (2017) Pennywise Clown. The 18 inch figure is due to ship in early August 2019.
