Storm Collectibles are really killing it recently with their video game releases across the likes of Gears of War, KIng of Fighters Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. At SDCC 2019 they have revealed more 1/12 scale figures joining the line from more classic video games. My favourite has to be the Golden Axe Warrior atop his Dragon. We see more figures from Tekken. They are also doing figures from the DC Video game Injustice : Gods Among Us. These include very impressive figures of Darkseid, Lobo, Bane and Doomsday.

The first Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection reveals from San Diego have arrived. At the Hasbro press breakfast a two pack was announced of the Green Ranger and Putty. The Green Ranger will include masked and unmasked head as well as signature weapon. It’s Morphin Time! As we saw displayed in the NECA SDCC 2019 booth, Chucky & Tiffany are joining the Toony Terrors from NECA with this 2 pack from The Bride of CHucky arriving in November 2019. We said his absence was conspicuous, and it seems Mezco do indeed have plans for a One:12 Far from Home Spider-Man in his new black & red suit. The figure will be an exclusive and pre-orders will open on Friday 19th of July at 6pm UK time via the Mezco website, there should be an International option for shipping. The figure is priced at $90 in the US, expect to be around £100 for the figure and shipping to the UK. Once you have placed your pre-order and the non-refundable deposit, the figure will ship at some point between February and April 2020. We'd expect the figure may well be added to the Mezco booth at SDCC 2019 over the weekend.

NECA has confirmed and revealed the line up for their Toony Terrors 2nd series. Series 2 will see Pinhead from Hellraiser, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Michael Myers in his Halloween 2 costume join the collection. These single figure releases come on a blister card with a cut out cardboard backdrop. They are due for an October 2019 release. Toony Terrors - 6" Action Figure - Series 2 Assortment Series 2 of the adorably creepy Toony Terrors line will bring more stylized horror icons into the mix! Standing approximately 6 inches tall, the action figure assortment includes Pinhead (Hellraiser), Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and Michael Myers (Halloween 2) complete with accessory jack-o-lantern. Diamond Select Toys have shown off their new 7 inch scale Select Hulk figure from Avengers Endgame at SDCC 2019. The figure will come with alternative hand options that include the Nano Gauntlet. Next to Hulk is an Endgame reveal in the shape of the Iron-Man Mk85. Tony comes with the usual swap out hands. The third figure is not actually Endgame related, and see's Diamond follow suit with the likes of Hasbro in releasing a Spider-Man figure from the PS4 video game. PS4 spidey includes his Spider-Drone and some web pieces. The figures are listed as an Autumn 2020 release, which seems quite extended - we wonder if this is a typo considering Hulk at least is already up for pre-order with a 2019 release date.

More images have come through for the Hasbro Star Wars Black Series Jabba's Palace Diorama. As well as Bib Fortuna, there are also 6 inch versions of Jabba's Torture Droids - EV-9D9 and 8D8. 8D8 is of course taking out some frustrations on an upturned Gonk droid. Like the other figures - Bib Fortuna and the Rancor - it seems for now these are custom pieces for the display. However, we have seen these type of custom pieces come to fruition before with Trash Compactor Loose eventually being released. This is a good way of seeing what the demand is like. The Rancor particularly would make a good Haslab project?

The NECA booth at SDCC 2019 is jammed with new releases for the 2nd half of 2019 and beyond into 2020. For Alien fans we have two new Ultimates releases to look forward to. First is the Ultimate 1979 "Big Chap" Xenomorph, complete with that 1979 Alien Egg teased a week or so ago. Also on the way is the Ultimate Dog Alien from Alien 3. This set seems to have a number of pack ins, including a queen chestburster and a very cool green curled chestbursters recreating the Alien 3 logo. The two Ultimates are due Autumn 2019. The display also gives us another look at Parker from the 40th Anniversary Alien collection. He is due around Christmas. There is also a new quarter scale 1979 Xeno, also due in Autumn. In the Kenner homage line, the next release will be the Rhino Alien. This is marked as a TBD release, and is most likely part of a 3 figure wave.

As SDCC 2019 opened with Preview night, the Hasbro booth was dressed to impress as usual with large diorama displays for both Marvel Legends and Star Wars. The Star Wars Black Series display was based on Jabba's palace and made up of figures already released over the past 6-years such as Jabba himself, Greedo, Bossk, Gamorrean Guards and a Jawa. Hasbro has however hidden some sneaky peaks in this display - if you look to the right of Jabba we see what looks to be a 6 inch Bib Fortuna figure. And under the display lurking in his cave is what seems to be a 6 inch scale Rancor! Of course Hasbro have built things for these displays before that would not get a release and while we cannot rule out a 6 inch scale Rancor release, this is pretty much confirmed as a custom made for this display only. We will find out more at Hasbro's Star Wars Panel on Friday 19th at 2pm (10pm UK time)

NECA have announced, after a series of sneak peaks, a new set of arcade VGA style action figures based on the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game, Turtles in Time. The first series is made up of Leonardo, Donatello, a Foot Soldier and the evil mutant Slash. THe Turtles and Foot Soldier come with their usual weapons and a hoverboard display stand. Slash comes with his sword. They are due to release in November 2019 and unlike the other Turtle figures from NECA that are exclusives at either Gamestop or Target (in the US) these will only be distributed via independent collectible and comic stores. Following up on our first arcade game-based #TMNT figures, we turn to the second Turtles game! From the classic 1990s Turtles in Time video game, we’re excited to offer a new line-up of 7” scale action figures. Series 1 includes Donatello, Leonardo, Slash, and a Foot Soldier. Donatello, Leonardo and Foot Soldier come with signature weapons and a brand new hoverboard with display stand that can be used for even more poses. Hasbro has released new images of their exclusive Goldar figure from the Power Rangers Lightning Collection. Goldar will come with his sword, alternative hands and a neat FX energy firing piece. The figure is due to be a US Gamestop exclusive.
