Lanard Toys will be producing a line of 3.75 inch action figures and scaled jungle animals from the upcoming Jumanji The Next Level movie. As we saw with Rampage, the figures won't have a lot of variety and essentially its Dwayne The Rock Johnson packed with various animals - with what looks like a generic bad guy in another set. The Rock figure is also heavily based off the previous Rampage releases, with what seem to be new arms and a holster on his leg. There are no figures of any of the other main characters. The sets are exclusive in the US to Walmart. We would potentially expect to see these in Smyths come the Christmas build up period as the film hits cinema's. NECA have announced two new Toony Terror figures in what they are calling wave 2.5 The figures are repaints of existing Toony Terror releases, giving us version of Freddy Krueger and Jason in their video game colours - something NECA have done successfully with selected figures in their main 7 inch line. The two new additions will come on same blister card and with the cut out display card backdrop. They are due for a December 2019 release. We're adding even more figures to our successful line of Toony Terrors, those adorably creepy stylized horror icons! Standing approximately 6 inches tall, Freddy (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Jason (Friday the 13th) appear in their classic video game colors. 2019 see's the biggest ever range of 5 inch Doctor Who figures as B&M Stores exclusives, and also includes the first collaboration with Big Finish to produce three Doctor & Dalek 2-packs based on the Big Finish audio series. In this review we will look at one of the three 3-packs, the Two Doctors set based on the 1985 story. Packaging 3/5 Our Two Doctor set uses the 2019 design with blue box background with cut in silver panels featuring a line drawing of the TARDIS. The Who logo is the new series 2018 one, but tweaked to a silver colour to match the box design. The three figures are visible in the window, and unlike the Cyberman set, the figures are arranged so that they run shortest to tallest and are all fully visible in the sloping window. The box is titled The Two Doctors set and the character names are slotted into a circular inset at the top right - oddly the wrong way round to the order they appear in the package. "Includes The Second Doctor, Perpugilliam Brown and Group Marshall Strike" The left side spine is cut panel with the who logo at the top in a blue background and the set name at the bottom, also in blue. Through the middle is the silver insert and TARDIS illustration. The other spine on the right carries the same header and images of the three figures as well as a repeat of the character names. The back of the box is quite plain once you look past the headers and figure images (the same ones from the side spine). There is no background text about the story or characters. Why this has been omitted from the 3-packs when so much depth and detail is included on the TARDIS and Dalek sets from the same line is unclear and frankly a bit disappointing. The figures are accessed via the top or bottom flap and sit in a plastic tray with various elasticated ties holding them in. This tray then sits in a nondescript cardboard sleeve with a grey panel design. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 We will go through the set in the order in which they are packed, starting with Perpugilliam Brown - or Peri to her friends. This is Peri as seen in The Two Doctors and uses the existing Peri figure. That means we get a pretty good likeness to Nicola Bryant, although we now get a painted band across her forehead to match the one she wears on screen. The shirt is not quite right to the Two Doctors outfit as it carries no real pattern - as seen in the episode - but instead some gold streaks across a pink base. It is also full length and not cut and tied at the waist. The arms have been adjusted from the original figure with new forearms to try and recreate the sleeves being rolled up. Someone obviously got the measurements wrong here and the new parts extend Peri's arms far too far and leave her looking quite odd. When I first saw the 2nd Doctor from the set I felt doing him as an Androgam was a missed opportunity to give us a normal but older 2nd Doctor - however, I had hoped they had gone and resculpted the head with the big bushy Androgum eyebrows and slicked back hair. Sadly they haven't and have just painted red eye brows on the existing Troughton sculpt. While I appreciate the need for these sets to be kitbashed and repaints, if you can't do the Androgum head with or without the top hat, then the figure should have simply been the older 2nd Doctor - after all the outfit is pretty well done with the right colour bow tie and a good attempt at the checked trousers. While Peri just looks odd, and the Doctor is a little disappointing, Field Marshall Strike does live up to expectations. As far as I can tell we have a brand new head sculpt for Strike and the body is then based on the original Linx figure but with the armour removed from the elbow and knees. Everything on Strike, and the other figures, is well painted with no obvious splodges or bleeding between parts. Accessories 2/5 There is no real consistency this year with accessories in the three packs. In previous years we have had nothing - and yet this year we have been getting some accessories, but not perhaps everything we would expect. In the Two Doctor set we get Strike's helmet as the sole accessory. This works well enough, slotting into the neck rings to create a good seal. As Strike uses the Sontaran Baton and has the holster on his hip, we might have expected that to be included considering it is packed in the Sontaran 3-pack - but sadly not. The Doctor is also devoid of his flute that used to be a staple with all 2nd Doctor releases. Articulation 3/5 Articulation on the Character Options who figures has remained constant across the years since their debut in 2006. While there are more modern ways of jointing figures, keeping them the same does allow for consistency in looks across the line that is no entering its 13th year. Each of the three figures has the same 16 point of articulation setup. Head : neck rotation Body : waist rotation Arms : rotating shoulder, bicep swivel, single joint elbow, wrist swivel Legs : T-Joint hip, thigh swivel, single joint knee You wont get much in the way of posing out of any of these figures, maybe some gesturing with the hands or a wider stance. They all do stand well enough and most of the joints are tight - although watch the bicep swivel which can pop out when moved. Summary This three pack follows the repack/tweak/repaint rules that Character and B&M have laid down over the past few years - and even though we get a new head sculpt for Strike, it feels like better options and decisions were missed. Why they messed with Peri's arms is a mystery, the rest of the shirt isn't screen accurate so they could have left them alone rather than leaving her looking like Elastigirl. The 2nd Doctor could have been a more desirable older Patrick Troughton from the story and not the Androgum. And Strike should have got some accessories. All that being said, we have three new(ish) classic Who figures from a 1985 multi-doctor story and all bundled up at a cost that equates to less than £7 a figure. Diamond Select Toys have released a packaged image of their 7 inch Select Captain Marvel figure in her green Star Force uniform. Carol comes with both masked and unmasked head. There is a raft of hand options (5 pairs in total) as well as a flaming effect base to simulate her taking off. We even get a static non-articulated Goose the Cat - although he isn't strictly complementary to Captain Marvel in this outfit. The figure will start shipping come the 25th of September 2019. We expect the more familiar red/blue suit version of this figure is a Disney Store exclusive and will show up on shelves about the same time (there is usually no upfront announcement on Disney Store Exclusives).

Fans of Godzilla, in Japan at least, can look forward to a very special version of Godzilla King of the Monsters on Bluray come its released date of the 18th of December 2019. In the deluxe Japanese release you also get a special version of the SH Monsterarts 2019 Godzilla. The figure is designed to replicate the pose and look of Godzilla in the movie poster. The translucent blue up the spine of Godzilla is a particularly stunning effect and marks a significant point of difference from the general release. This figure is sure to be sought after by collectors. At this stage only a Japanese release has been confirmed. SH Figuarts have released their suite of images for their Marvel Avengers Endgame War Machine 1/12 figure. The listing went live on their website and pre-orders have opened. War Machine, in his Mk6 armour, is due for a February 2020 release. He will come with alternative hand options as well as a number of FX pieces to represent repulsor blasts - two small and two large. We also get jet blast FX pieces for a take off pose, and a machine gun effect for his shoulder cannon.

2019 see's the biggest ever range of 5 inch Doctor Who figures as B&M Stores exclusives, and also includes the first collaboration with Big Finish to produce three Doctor & Dalek 2-packs based on the Big Finish audio series. Packaging 4/5 The 2019 B&M sets carry a new packaging design that is essentially a deep blue box intersected with silver inserts that are illustrated as the TARDIS. The sets use the new Who logo, but in a silver colour. The figures themselves are presented in a window that wraps the top and right flaps of the box. The window is perhaps a little undersized and the Dalek is partially obscured by the left hand wrap of the box. Under the window sits the character names as the Eigth Doctor and the Dalek Interrogator Prime. The Big Finish sets are a step up on the other B&M sets thanks to their gorgeous artwork on the left hand side, taken directly from the Big Finish cover designs. On the back of the box we have the actual CD cover art for the story on which the set is based (In the Garden of Death) as well as an in depth overview - albeit with some punctuation and grammatical errors. "THE EIGHTH DOCTOR: THE TIME WAR - IN THE GARDEN OF DEATH" "The universe is burning - and the Doctor refuses to join the deadliest battle it has ever seen. He skirts around the edges of the Time War, doing what he can to save the lives of those who may die in a conflict they are unaware of, on another level of reality. With his companion, Bliss, the Doctor and another Time Lord, the Twelve, are captured by the Daleks and kept prisoner on a jungle world. The trio have their memories wiped as they are kept for interrogation. Prisoner Alpha's fears that he is "the most evil man in the universe" as he is held in isolation. He and the rest of the inmates have no memory of who they were or what they might have done. The inmates' memories of who they and their captors are, only returns when they arrive before the Dalek Interrogator Prime - and Prisoner Alpha remember he is the Doctor..." The figures are accessed via the top or bottom flap and slide out in an inner plastic tray that is then sat into a cardboard insert. This cardboard insert carries an impressive space battle from the Time War featuring Dalek ships attacking a planet. The figures are held in with cotton white twisty straps - and the Dalek appendages are taped into place. Paint & Sculpt 3/5 The Dalek Interrogator Prime is a new series Dalek, and uses the more modern shape with the more accurate base proportions. The blue base colour with silver dome and panels looks brilliant on the new shape and is well executed throughout - apart from one roundel on the base that seems to have been very badly touched up. I've seen this before on other Dalek models ad wonder if this is where they are held while painted and touched up by hand afterwards? The Doctor is not necessarily from the "In the Garden of Death" episode as he wears a Prison Uniform for most of that, in stead this is the Dark Eyes outfit that the 8th Doctor sports for a period of time in the Big Finish audios. To achieve this Character have simply uses the body of a 9th Doctor and the head from the recent Night of the Doctor release. The costume does work, although if we are being picky the collar is too big and should be up and the Doctor should also be carrying a satchel. Putting that side the coat is a deep blue with gold buttons, and the trousers have been painted with a denim effect. The head is not great, and is arguably worse than the 2015 version thanks to very basic and cartoonish paint apps for the eyes and mouth. Accessories N/A There are no accessories in the set, a shame as a satchel bag (one was available from the Connor Temple Primeval figure) would have been great - as would a sonic screwdriver to fill that shaped right hand which is sculpted to hold one. Articulation 3/5 The Doctor has the standard 16 points of articulation for a Who figure. These do remain the basic plug and socket joints with the joints clearly visible around the knees and elbows. Posing is limited with neutral stances only. Head : neck post swivel Body : waist post swivel Arms : shoulder post swivel, bicep swivel, jointed elbow, peg wrist Legs : T-Joint hips, thigh swivel, jointed knee The Dalek weighs in with a ball joint sucker arm and weapon. The eye-stalk is a pivot and moves up and down. There is no other articulation as such on the Dalek - not that it needs anything else - and it moves freely via two fixed wheels and a rotating wheel on the base. Summary The Eight Doctor and Dalek Interrogator Prime is a set with great potential and just a little bit of detail away from being a brilliant release. The Dalek looks great, the blue and silver a nice departure from the usual Bronze Daleks. The issues all lie with the Doctor. Another costume option for the 8th Doctor is always welcome, and the re-use of the 9th Doctor body is a clever one. The accuracy could have been ignored if they had given us the Dark Eyes Doctor's satchel - a key component of this outfit - and a sonic screwdriver. And to give us an Eighth Doctor head sculpt that is painted worse than one from 4 years ago is a disappointment. I score the Eighth Doctor and Dalek Interrogator Prime a 3 out of 5. It seems a number of Star Wars Black Series figures from Triple Force Friday have broken their 4th October 2019 street date in the US and in Canada. We now have listings on eBay for the figures, with more images and confirmation of the numbering for each figure. You can also read the background text for each image in the images below (beware spoilers). It does not confirm if the Off-World Jawa is from The Rise of Skywalker or The Mandalorian. The second series of Jazwares Fortnite Legendary 6 inch figures has started to arrive at UK stores. Series 2 is made up of six figures - DJ Yonder, Tomatohead, Leviathan, Jonesy, Abstrakt and Valkyrie. We found DJ Yonder and Tomatohead in The Entertainer. Both looked awesome, with Tomatohead coming with two head options, Tomato-bomb, backbling, harvesting tool and a couple of rifles. DJ Yonder has his clipon set of DJ Decks as well as weaponry, back bling and a harvesting tool. Each figure is priced at £20 here in the UK. Spider-Man Far From Home yielded only four Marvel Legends figures, one of which was the BAF of the sole 2019 Spider-Man Far from Home wave. The new black & red suit Spider-Man, the figure we are reviewing here, was released in that wave without a BAF. The figure, and that of the Stealth Suit Spidey from Far From Home, were repacked for a slimmed down Legends release in the UK as of September 2019. Packaging The original release of this Spider-Man in the standard Legends box always looked a little lost as there was no BAF part to fill out the space next to the small frame of Spider-Man. Therefore, the figure is much more suited to the new slimline blister carded Legends showing up in the UK for a reduced RRP of £15. The cardback is black with the Far from Home logo and an image of a web shooting Spider-Man to the side. The Legends logo is top right, and a lot smaller than usual. There is no name panel or character text at all on the front - unlike the other figures in the line. I can only guess this is because it is a titular character. The back of the pack does confirm this as Spider-Man and gives a short text background - repeated in other languages - alongside an image of Spidey hanging upside down from a web. "Peter Parker continues his adventures as the web-slinging Super Hero, Spider-Man" Paint & Sculpt 2/5 This is a new sculpt for Spidey as far as I can tell, it is not the same as either the Homecoming or Iron-Spider body - although it may share some parts for the arms and legs. The proportions are great with a slimmer and shorter figure for Spidey so he scales well against other MCU characters. The sculpt carries a lot of detail in the weblines of the suit and the Spider icons front and back. Sadly, the sculpt is not enhance by the paint job. The torso is cast in red plastic with the black applied over the top for the panelled sections and the logo's. The arms and upper legs are the reverse with the parts cast in a very dark grey plastic and the red painted on top. This then gives variations in colour and finish particularly at the shoulders and waist areas. The lack of any lining, something that was attempted and was reasonably successful on the Homecoming Spider-Man, is a real disappointment and it leaves the figure feeling cheap and plasticy. When you consider all the paint apps that went into Mysterio from the same wave, this one is certainly not on the same level in terms of value for money. For anyone hoping to drop a Tom Holland unmasked head onto this, sadly the one from the Homecoming 2-pack does not fit. You may have better luck with the new one incoming with the Infinity War 2-pack (with Iron-Man). Accessories 2/5 Spider-Man comes with the same accessories in both releases - two sets of hands, one gripping and one web shooting. These snap on and off easily. The web shooting hands are a given for any Spider-Man figure, the gripping hands make less sense as we'd normally see a pair of fists here. Whether there was an intention for some web FX pieces in this set at one point is unknown, or whether the hands are simply borrowed from another release. Articulation 5/5 While paint and accessories have been a bit of a let down so far, you cannot knock the figure on articulation as it boasts the top of the line 21 points of articulation - two more than a normal Legends male buck thanks to the inclusion of butterfly shoulder joints. Head - ball joint with pivot Body - torso T-joint, waist swivel Arms - butterfly shoulders, ball joint shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pivot wrist Legs - ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single joint knee, ankle rocker Spidey is supremely poseable and you can have him standing, kneeling, sitting, laying, fighting - and even web slinging with a good flight stand. The only gripe is a loose waits which may pose issues further down the line. Aside from this, all the other joints are tight and Spider-Man stands perfectly on his own. Summary The Far from Home Spider-Man feels like a half finished figure. It boasts a wonderful sculpt and brilliant articulation, followed by almost zero paint applications and some odd choices for the other pair of swap out hands. I score the Spider-Man Far from Home a 3 out of 5, and certainly a figure that is better suited to a £15 price point in the new slimline packaging than the £20+ it was priced at in the main wave, without any BAF parts. 2019 see's the biggest ever range of 5 inch Doctor Who figures as B&M Stores exclusives, and sees two more Doctor and TARDIS sets added to the line. The 4th Doctor gets a new TARDIS in the 5 inch scale in this release, based on the TARDIS' appearance in the originally abandoned, and recently completed story Shada. Packaging 3/5 The set uses the 2019 packaging design with the dark blue colour scheme, contrasted by cut through silver panels with a TARDIS illustration. The figure is displayed by a wrapped window that covers most of the front of the box and round the left hand side spine. The back of the box includes an image of the 4th Doctor and the TARDIS, aside which sits a very in depth background for Shada and the synopsis for the story itself. While this is OK, there are some poorly written elements, particularly the piece about Professor Chronotis. "Shada (1979), written by Douglas Adams, was to be the final story of Season 17 of Doctor Who. A combination of problems, including strikes, halted production halfway through filming and it was never broadcast. However the story didn't stop there; some of the remaining archived material was reused in the 1983's story The Five Doctors. and then again in 1992 when the story was spliced together using narration. Finally, in 2017 a completed cut was released, including new animations of missing shots and some newly filmed scenes. The Time Lords have a terrible secret... 'Shada', a hidden Time Lord prison where the worst criminals of the universe are held. Skagra, an evil genius, needs the help of one of the prison's inmates called Salyavin. But nobody knows where Shada is located anymore. So he tracks the only thing where its location is mentioned, an ancient book stolen by a retired Time Lord calling himself Professor Chronotis living on Earth with a forbidden Time Lord book stolen from the Archives on Gallifrey. Skagra's arrival to find and take the book coincides with a visit by the professor's old friend, the Doctor." The pack opens by the top or bottom flap, with the TARDIS and Doctor sliding out inside a cardboard inner tray. The TARDIS is screwed into place with a black strip on the base of the box, while the Doctor is in a separate tray taped to the cardboard inner tray. The said inner tray is decorated as the Professor Chronotis library from Shada and is very well executed in looks, if not in design. The issue with the tray is that once the figure is removed the cardboard doesn't make a particularly useful diorama piece as it is not decorated at one side and the stability is not great being stood on a two sided raised plinth. It is worth noting that the TARDIS doors remain strapped shut out of the box with a clear strap that wraps the TARDIS fully and goes inside the door seams and holds the doors closed. This is an awful piece to remove and actually risks damaging the door more than it does to protect it. I would recommend snipping with scissors, then pressing slightly on the door while closed to open up the hinge to allow these to be pulled out safely. Paint & Sculpt 4/5 The Fourth Doctor is not a new sculpt, and uses the Destiny of the Daleks Doctor and Scarf, but with a repainted coat. The likeness to Tom Baker is good, albeit a little vacant in its expression and with a weird texture to the sideburns. The scarf is well painted with multiple colours, all bright and neat. The rest of the figure is quite plain with white shirt, brown jacket and grey trousers with brown boots. It does match the outfit used n Shada, although the scarf patterns are not an exact match if you are ultra picky. Please note we did not have easy access to the Destiny Doctor when doing our review so have illustrated the image below using the City of Death Doctor which is the same sculpt, but with different lower legs. The TARDIS is the same base mouled we have seen used across the history of the Character Options 5 inch line. It does get a brand new lamp piece that is accurate to the TARDIS in Shada, and of course is also a match to the TARDIS we see in the 4th Doctor's title sequence of that era. Being the original mould we do still have the battery compartment and speakers visible on the back from the time this was a sound FX release. These are of course redundant, but I suspect some collectors may wonder why their TARDIS is not working. The other main difference to previous releases are the windows, no painted shades of red and orange. Accessories N/A There are no accessories in the set, unless you count the Doctor's scarf? Even though the Doctor has a right hand shaped to hold a Sonic Screwdriver, Character and B&M have not included this in the set. Articulation 3/5 The Doctor retains the usual set of 16 points of articulation that dates back to the start of the Character 5 inch line. While this is limited, with so many figures done so far in this style I'd actually hate them to change by this point. Head : neck post swivel Body : waist post swivel Arms : shoulder post swivel, bicep swivel, jointed elbow, peg wrist Legs : T-Joint hips, thigh swivel, jointed knee With some teasing there are a handful of poses for the Doctor although the neutral stance is probably the best bet. The TARDIS doors are also articulated and open using a spring mounted mechanism. This is explained on the bottom of the box, and worth checking out so you can see how best to close the doors without trapped fingers. Summary Any Doctor Who 5 inch release is a welcome one these days, but I am starting to think the TARDIS sets are reaching saturation. We've had 4 now in just over 12-months from B&M, and two of them have been for the Fourth Doctor. The execution of this one is good, and I do like the revised lamp for the TARDIS. The Fourth Doctor is a simple repaint, but works with the set and helps fans who maybe started down the line later in its life to expand their collection. The Articulation and looks may be looking dated now, but that is a little bit of the charm of these figures. They are coming up to 13 years old now, and it is nice in a way the ones from 2019 are still designed and look like the ones from 2006. At £20 this is a decent set, especially if you don't have a TARDIS yet from the 4th Doctor's era. The packaging is nice, but the backdrop not quite workable once out of the box. NECA have released packaged images of their Winter Gremlins 2-Pack. The set, containing two Ultimate Gremlins figures along with Christmas Carol appropriate clothing and accessories, is down to be released in October 2019. There is a second variant set coming too, exclusive to Target in the US - but "should" be available generally elsewhere around the globe.
