NECA have announced a brand new 8 inch clothed action figure of Eddie, band mascot for Iron Maiden. The Pharoah Eddie is taken from their Powerslave album from 1984 and their World Slavery Tour. The figure features a sculpted body and head with real fabric bandages. He is adorned with a sculpted headpiece and comes with a sword and staff. He is scheduled for a June 2020 release. The Stormtrooper with Blast Accessories was originally planned as a 2018 Toys R Us Exclusive. With the collapse of the retailer, the set was thrown into confusion but was finally confirmed as a Disney Store exclusive, but only in the US. While some import stock has been available in the UK, collectors have had to wait until the Summer of 2019 when stocks were finally brought en masse to the UK via The Entertainer. Packaging 3/5 Our Stormtrooper uses the same design principles as the other Phase 3 packaging, but the box is a bigger version - similar in size to that used for the Deluxe releases. The front of the box shows off the figure through the window with the blast accessories to the side. There is no normal red backdrop, but instead we have an imperial ship backdrop - more on this later. The side of the box has no number as this is an exclusive. Round the back we have a pretty standard packaging reverse although there is an added piece bottom right that shows the figure and the FX pieces. This image does kind of make the blast parts look like they light up - but this is not the case. The rear of the box then has the bio for a Stormtrooper, a little longer than the usual write up. "Stormtroopers are elite shock troops fanatically loyal to the Empire ad impossible to sway from the Imperial cause. They wear imposing white armor, which offers a wide range of survival equipment and temperature controls to allow the soldiers to survive in almost any environment. Stormtroopers wield their blaster rifles and pistols with great skill, and attack in hordes to overwhelm their enemies." Paint & Sculpt 2/5 The figure is essentially the same Imperial Stormtrooper sculpt from the original phase of figures. The sculpt has always been strong and therefore I have no immediate qualms about the re-use from a sculpt point of view. This version of our Stormtrooper is designed to be blast damaged - perhaps similar to what we see on the EA Battlefront II game. That means the crisp white armour is painted over with some brown paint panels that look more like mud than the blast effect I think they are meant to represent. The colour of the helmet damage is different to that on the chest and arm which is a little annoying. Accessories 2/5 The selling point of the set was a large amount of accessories. This all starts with the odd inclusion of a display stand - the first used in a Black Series release. The stand is rectangular with shaped corners. It carries the Star Wars logo engraved on the front part of the stand. And this centerpiece can be flicked off and reversed into a grid imperial floor design. There are peg holes to either end of the stand. The issue with this is that they are too wide apart to be of use to the Stormtrooper in a wide stance. Instead you can use one or the other, placing the Trooper at either side of the stand and not central. Our Stormtrooper has an E-11 blaster, the same cast blaster as has come with the previous Stormtrooper releases. It is cast in black with no paint apps. There is then a blast accessory piece which is well engineered to slot over the end of the blaster to simulate a firing effect. The fit is OK on this, but it is not a tight fit and the FX piece has a tendency to drop off. And then we have the larger explosion pieces. These are cast in translucent orange plastic with some paint apps on the ends of the explosion to darken them. Both parts are hollow, but there are no lights inside which would have been a neat feature. And while it is not quite an accessory I will talk about the card insert here as we get a full cardboard backdrop which is an illustrated Imperial wall panel and door frame. This stands on its own, but does present the undecorated brown cardboard on either side. It could be used as a backdrop with some tweaking. Articulation 3/5 Our Stormtrooper comes with the same 18 points of articulation as per the orginal release, and this is two points more than a more recent Black Series figure thanks to the double elbow joints and bicep swivel. Head : ball joint and pivot neck Body : torso ball joint Arms : ball joint shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, pivot wrist Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle rocker The top half of the trooper is very well articulated and even with the armoured shoulders the Trooper can achieve two-handed weapon poses. The issues like with the legs with the hips barely poseable having been restricted by the thigh armour. Wider action stances are OK, but anything else does get a little blocked off. The Stormtrooper stands well enough, but can look a little bow-legged. It can also be a bit frustrating getting the ratcheted ankle rockers flat to the floor to keep the figure stood. Summary Our Blast Accessory Stormtrooper is a bit of a let down in most areas. The box gives the indication that there could be more to the set (lights) than there is. And the figure has a very ugly paint job where a normal Stormtrooper would have actually been better and allowed for army building. The stand doesn't work and is unwieldy for a display - it is also a one off, so there is no option of uniformity with other figures. And the blast pieces are OK, but are too dull without lighting - although they have been left hollow so you could work out lighting them yourself. At the original RRP of nearly £50, this set would be a huge let down. At the recent price of £24.99 at The Entertainer it was more palatable. and since it dropped further to £14.99 (£9.99 with a voucher offer) it is now certainly worth picking up - even if you carefully strip off that painted blast marks. It seems the 3.75 inch offering for Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker will solely sit in the Vintage Collection with an apparent withdrawal of the basic POA figures. The Vintage collection will see a smattering of new product come Force Friday and beyond including new Vintage Collection figures of a Knight of Ren, Rey, Zorii Bliss and a Sith Jet Trooper. Within the assortment is a none Rise of Skywalker X-Wing Luke Skywalker - slotted in we assume to fit in with one of the vehicle releases, Luke's X-Wing. We also get a 2nd X-Wing for Poe Dameron from The Rise of Skywalker. And from the Mandalorian a new AT-ST set. The oddest choice in the reveals is a new set of 3.75 (basic articulation) figure 2-packs to celebrate the entire 9 film Skywalker Saga. This is a great idea, but then colouring them all gold is perhaps not so hot. SH Figuarts have unveiled their new product for Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalker, with three new 1/12 figures arriving in November 2019 ahead of the movie release. First we have Rey, who comes with D-0 the new resistance droid who we've seen quite a lot of in the merchandising so far. Rey is armed with her lightsaber as well as staff and her blaster that Han gave her on Takodana. Rey also features a hood option to her outfit where we can have a hood up, or hood down option in place for two alternative looks. On the Dark Side of the releases we have Supreme Leader Kylo Ren who has his repaired helmet as well as an unmasked head option. He comes with his broad-saber as well as a soft goods cloak. And then there is the Sith Trooper, poster boy for the Rise of Skywalker merchandising. He comes with a variety of weaponry, similar to what we got in the Hasbro SDCC pack, including the floor standing blaster cannon.

SH Figuarts have released the full details for their 1/12 scale Black Panther MCU figure. T'Challa will be a webstore exclusive and is released in February 2020. The costume is the vibranium charged suit with purple highlights and the set includes masked and unmasked head as well as a variety of hand options and a display stand.

It was 2016 when Hasbro brought us the first animated Rebels character to life with the release of Kanan Jarrus, soon followed by Sabine Wren. Hera and Ahsoka followed in 2017 as did Grand Admiral Thrawn. We've then had a two year wait to add the next members of our Ghost crew, and its two together as wave 21 in 2019 brings us Ezra Bridger and Chopper. Packaging 4/5 Chopper is number 84 in the 3rd phase packaging red & black boxes. His character text reads as "Chopper" with his official designation of C1-10P added in brackets. Like all Black Series figures there is a illustration of Chopper in grey lined art and this is a more realistic Chopper as the Black Series translates all the Rebel characters over to a more real world look. This illustration is repeated on the back of the box along with a short piece of background text. Like the other Rebels figures there is no designation on the box that explains their source material. "Chopper is the resident droid of the Ghost, assisting the crew in everything from ship maintenance to combat, even though he doesn't always want to. After many years of repairs and patch jobs, Chopper has a beat-up, worn look that matches his sometimes cranky personality." Paint & Sculpt 4/5 Like the box artwork, Chopper is realised in the Black Series in a real world style - very much the Chopper we saw briefly in Rogue One. He remains squat and with that angular head and large communications antenna on top. The colours are not muted too much from the show, with a bright orange dome trimmed in yellow and some green and yellow patchwork on the body and legs. There is also some nicely applied weathering and dirt around the body - giving him some character and age. In terms of scale, we can only go off what we see on screen - and therefore if you use the episode Droids in Distress as a guide, then Chopper is indeed the right scale alongside a Black Series R2-D2. Of course there is the long held view that the R2 itself is undersized. When we lineup Chopper with the other Rebels characters he remains in scale, coming up just short of Ezra's waist - the same height as we see him in the show. Accessories 4/5 As this is a small droid with limited articulation, Hasbro has tried to pack in a lot of accessories with Chopper to add value to the release. This starts with his central leg. In previous astromechs this has been a permanent piece that retracts with a turn of the dome. For Chopper it is a slot in piece that can then be adjusted to the height needed to position all three points to the floor as Chopper rolls around. This central leg does include a working castor wheel. Chopper, as we know from "The Forgotten Droid", has two odd legs. Hasbro has packed an alternative version of his left leg in the box if you wish to amend his look. The legs pop off from a socket on the body and the new one clips in place. This new leg is painted and weathered like the rest of the droid and is a good match when installed. The final accessory is a two part piece that is designed to show Chopper in flight using his rocket boosters. You first slip a smaller piece into the central hole we were using earlier for the central leg. This flame piece, cast in translucent orange, then slots into a wider base piece that is cast in the same translucent plastic to look like Chopper is taking off. FX pieces like this are not everyone's cup of tea - but for me this works and gives Chopper a bit of focus on display if you choose to pose him in this flight position. Articulation 4/5 Chopper has 10 points of articulation through his astromech body. Head : swivel head, two part extending claw arms Body : two part extending manipulator arm Legs : jointed hip, jointed ankle While the head and legs are standard, and expected on this type of droid, the other elements are well designed and thought through. The two arms on the dome extend out then bend to create the claw arms Chopper often brandishes in the show. And similarly the manipulator arm folds out and then articulates on a second joint along its length. While not articulation as such, the droids legs do carry two small wheels each to aid rolling him around if you wish. Summary While he may be small, there is a lot to like about this Black Series release. The sculpt is good and not too "animated" while the original colours are kept and then dirtied up in keeping with Choppers age and environment. The extending arms are a very neat feature as is the swap out leg. The FX piece won't be to everyone's liking, but it does what it promises and adds a dynamic posing option to Chopper if you want one. I score C1-10P a commendable 4 out of 5 and welcome him to my Rebels crew. With him and Ezra both secured in Wave 21 we now have to hope Hasbro won't wait too long before completing our crew with a Zeb figure. The global product reveal for Triple Force Friday gave us three new Black Series figures over and above the ones already revealed or leaked. From Rise of Skywalker are figures of Jannah and C-3PO. Threepio comes with Chewbacca's bandoleer and bowcaster as well as a tiny figure of Babu Frik - a new character who is a droid builder. And from The Mandalorian is a figure of Cara Dune.

Kaiyodo have done some amazing 6 inch scale Marvel figures so far, but this new Amazing Yamaguchi Revoltech War Machine might just be the best so far. Arriving in the usual Yamaguchi dynamic sculpting style - part way between realistic and anime - the figure is packed full of articulation as well as coming with a whole arsenal of weaponry options for the shoulder mounts and arm slots. War Machine is due to be released in February 2020 with a price tag of circa £75 if we use the recent Iron-Man figure as a guide.

While still not officially announced, there had been rumours of a Marvel Legends Warmachine Punisher crossover figure for a while. These have now started showing up a Gamestop stores in the US, with images shared all over social media. The figure uses the Civil War Mk3 War-Machine, complete with all accessories, but it has the Punisher skull logo across the chest. It is badged as a release under the 80th Anniversary series.

The Warhammer Community Forum has revealed the full details of the much anticipated Warhammer 40k Space Marine figure coming from Bandai. The figure, The Primaris Intercessor Space Marine, will stand 8 inches tall and will be decorated in the iconic blue Ultramarine Chapter Colours. He will come with his Bolter and has 50 points of articulation. We have no details as yet on price, but as this is a collectors grade figure we'd expect circa £80 at this stage for a figure of this size, articulation and overall finish. Pre-orders will open at some stage in October 2019. If you are looking forward to this line - and we expect this is the first of a number of Space Marine chapter variants at least - then a fledgling facebook group is already in place to discuss what is coming and what we hope for in this new Bandai line. Storm Collectibles are bringing us the King of Fighters arcade game figures, starting with Terry Bogard who will be in stores in the final quarter of 2019. Terry comes with four different head sculpts, five pairs of hands and a vest. Also included are a variety of translucent FX pieces including effects for his Power Wave, Power Geyser and Burn Knuckle. There is also a "build an effect" feature with the four planned King of Fighters figures, with a part in each to build into the Omega Rugal Gravity Smash effect. TERRY BOGARD - is the main and most iconic character of the KOF series and he appears as a playable player in every KOF game to date. Terry and his younger brother Andy Bogard were both orphans adopted by Jeff Bogard. Terry and Andy enter the King of Fighters tournament to avenge their father’s death, who was murdered by Geese Howard. Along with their friend Joe Higashi, they formed the sequel and defeated Geese in the tournament. Storm Collectibles have released the full details for their next DC Injustice : Gods Among Us video game series with bounty hunter Lobo. Lobo will feature 3 head sculpts, with two hair styles to use with these. There are four pairs of hands, a cigar and a Shotgun. We also get Lobo's chain with hook. The figure can be preordered now and has a release date at some point in Quarter 1 of 2020. LOBO was born on the utopian planet of Czarnia. Unfortunately for them, the foul-mouth brawler’s idea of a perfect world is one covered in bruises and blood. He wiped out his entire civilization and made himself the last of his people. Considering his name means "he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it" in his native tongue, perhaps they shouldn’t have been too surprised. Lobo took his predilection for murder and mayhem along with his rocket-fueled motorcycle and went on to become the best bounty hunter in the galaxy.
