The first Hasbro Panel of MCM London 2019 was to cover off the Star Wars products. The team recapped the news from the Paris Comic Con panel 24hrs previous. They confirmed 4 more prequel figures were still to be revealed in the Black Series - but these would be at Lucca and Barcelona next week. Today's announcements were focused around Episode 9 and The Mandalorian. In the Black Series we have a new figure of Zorri Bliss and a Knight of Ren. By the way the Hasbro team were talking we will be seeing more Knights of Ren in the future. In the 3.75 Vintage Collection we finally have confirmation of a Mandalorian from the new Disney+ show. The Hasbro Marvel Panel at Paris Comic Con unveiled two new figures for the Legends series. The Winter Soldier is a single release. We are not sure where he will fit in the release schedule. The backing colour of the image gives us no clues but we have to assume that Bucky will be associated with an Avengers wave? The Demogoblin is a Build-a-figure for the 2020 Spider-man wave. Parts of the Demogoblin will come with the already announced figures of the PS4 Spider-Man Suits, Vulture, Shang Chi, White Rabbit and Superior Octopus. The McFarlane range of Labyrinth figures started in 2018 with the release of Jareth the Goblin King in his masked ball outfit. The second release is another version of Jareth, this time in the more casual outfit as seen in the Dance Magic Dance sequence. Packaging 3/5 Jareth comes in the same window box as his predecessor which does not thankfully maintain consistency across both figures - McFarlane have changed some packaging mid-range before. The box is headed with the Jim Henson's Labyrinth logo, under which is a window box that partially wraps both sides. Under the window is confirmation of the figures name, listed as "Dance Magic Jareth". To either side of the box is a repeat of the character name and Labyrinth logo. Round the back is an image from the movie poster showing Jareth holding a crystal ball. There is no background text or bio, simply another logo underneath the image. The most interesting part of this relatively bland box is the top flap which captures Jareth's eyes staring out at you from a larger version of the image from the box reverse. The pack opens via this top flap, or the bottom one, and the figure slides out in an inner tray that sits in a cardboard surround. The cardboard looks a plain pale yellow but on closer inspection carries a faint image of Sarah in the Crystal Ball with the Labyrinth behind her. Paint & Sculpt 5/5 McFarlane sculpts are among the best out there presently at the £20 price point and Jareth does not disappoint with a stunning head sculpt likeness to David Bowie. The face is painted very realistically with emotive eyes peering out from under the fringe. And this hairpiece is brilliant with layers on top of layers and all of it naturally coloured. Compared to the first Jareth, this one is more plainly dressed with a frilled open neck shirt, grey waistcoat and grey trousers. Being so plain there is not a lot to colour or paint and the only obvious paint issues are around the chain on the waistcoat where silver paint has bled out to the side. The shirt is not a clean white and has been weathered with subtle shades to dirty it up. There is also a subtle wash ot the trousers. Jareth is also wearing his pendent which is also neatly painted with black strap and silver pendant with gold insert. Accessories 4/5 Jareth comes with a McFarlane circular display stand. This is a standard for McFarlane products now and features the Labyrinth movie logo. It has a peg that slots into the hole on the right foot only. For those that like display stands, it looks fine, but as we will see in the articulation segment it is not too practical. The other accessory is Jareth's cane. This is cast in very thin plastic that is also quite brittle, so watch out for this snapping under a bit of pressure. One end is feathered like a brush and the other sculpted and painted with a silver cap piece. Only the right hand on Jareth is cast as a gripping hand. Slotting the cane in place is tricky, especially considering the risk of it breaking. But once located Jareth holds this fine. The final "accessory" is a Goblin, one of the Jim Henson puppet creatures that serve Jareth. This one is a beaked faced beast with a round body and stumpy arms and legs. It is a single piece with no articulation and is cast in a seated position with its tail sticking out at the back. It is painted in a brown overall finish with dry brushing to the fir. The beak is grey with bone and grey marking around the red and yellow eyes. This choice of Goblin is an odd one considering the other various Goblin characters we see in the movie. He is very small and not greatly detailed - and after watching the scene a few times (see below) he seems to be a very brief background Goblin towards the start of the musical piece. In terms of display and posing he can only really sit at Jareth's feet - which means he does get lost on display. I would have preferred McFarlane to go with a larger armoured Goblin or perhaps gone one better and done a deluxe release with Jareth's throne and a handful of Goblins to surround him. Articulation 2/5 McFarlane's articulation over the past few years has been steadily improving, and Jareth comes with 14 points of articulation. This is better than the earlier Colortop figures, but not quite up to the standard being used in the Fortnite figures Head : ball joint neck Body : rotating waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single rotating elbow, rotating wrists Legs : T-Joint hips, single rotating knee, ankle rocker The head, even with the hair piece, has a good range of motion. And the arms too can do a number of gestures and poses with or without the cane. The elbow bend does go to 90 degrees, and includes a very satisfying ratchet when bent. Sadly the same cannot be said of the ankles which are once again very weak. Even on the stand the figure falls over after a while as the ankles can't hold the weight of the figure. I expect any figure I buy to stand either on its own or with a stand. Jareth can do neither and to display him I will need to either pay out for a waist clip stand or glue his ankles into a fixed position - this is an ongoing McFarlane issue and one they do need to resolve. Above the ankles the knees are single joint and can only bend so far with the hips still using that older T-Joint design which does work - but looks pretty ugly when opened up. These two joints will allow Jareth into a seated pose (just) so that throne idea would have worked? Summary I am going to sum up Jareth the Goblin King in a very similar vein to a lot of other McFarlane reviews... He looks stunning, you cannot fault the sculpt or the paint apps on a £20 price point figure. The packaging is a bit "meh" but I can look past that. The issue lies in the articulation once again, and its not just the reduced range that 14 points of articulation brings - but it is the ankle issue again that fails to keep the figure upright even with the included stand. Jareth has scored top marks on looks, but low on articulation due to these issues and overall weighs in just above average with a 3 out of 5. See More McFarlane Action Figures

Hasbro has confirmed Wave 3 of the Power Rangers Lightning Collection at a Panel at Paris Comic Con. The four figure wave is made up of The Red Ranger from the original Power Rangers Series - joining previous releases of the White & Pink Ranger. He is joined by the Beast Morphers Blue Ranger, Dino Charge Gold Ranger and Lord Drakkon. All four figures come with two head options, one with helmet and one without, with the face print technology used on the unhelmeted heads. Each figure also includes alternative hands and an appropriate weapon with blast FX accessories. The figures are all down for a December 30th 2019 release. NECA have revealed the blister packaging for their new Classic Alien & Predator action figures. This new 5.5 inch line takes inspiration from the Alien & Predator toys from the 1990's and launches with the Berserker Predator and the Alien Neomorph from Covenant. The packaging matches the 1990's style and has a very deliberate Kenner design. The cardback includes a checklist of the Classic line, as well as the main range 7 inch figures. The new Classic Alien & Predator figures are scheduled for a November 2019 release.

In 2018, to celebrate the first Ten Years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hasbro revisited a number of MCU films to bring us figures of characters that did not get a release first time round. One of these was Red Skull from Captain America The First Avenger, who was released in a set alongside parts to convert the figure to Hydra soldiers. Hasbro took the sculpt and tweaked the figure with his long coat and released it as a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive in 2018 along with a 1:1 Tesseract light up replica. I purchased my figure loose and without the Tesseract. Packaging 5/5 The SDCC 2018 box art was quite impressive and used imagery from the Captain America movie including the Tesseract power source level indicators and the Hydra symbol. The set also had a slip on wrap which utilised the film panel art of the First Ten Years set on the base of the box and round the back included a short bio of Red Skull. "A brilliant scientist obsessed with domination, Johann Schmidt leads the HYDRA-Abteilung division which specialises in artillery and harvesting the power of the Tesseract to create super weapons. Bent on achieving ultimate power, Schmidt injects himself with an early version of the Super Soldier Serum and suffers the side effects, including deformation and developing a crimson visage." The set was also numbered, as zero, to fit with the other 10 numbered boxes in the First Ten Years set of releases. The pack opened up with two side hinged panels revealing the figure and Tesseract within. The interior of these doors were illustrated also with items from the film including WW2 era records and a Captain America poster. Paint & Sculpt 5/5 The head sculpt for Red Skull is identical to the main release, and is an excellent likeness to the prosthetic mask used in the movie. The eyes are intense under that deep ridged brow and Skull is also smiling which is a little disconcerting. Skull is presented in this set in his long overcoat, a look I much prefer than the dress uniform used in the general release. The coat carries a number of overlapping panels as well as buckles and buttons all picked out in silver paint. A large belt ties the coat shut and is fastened with a silver Hydra belt buckle. A further Hydra symbol can be found on the left shoulder, and rather than being a decal it is a sculpted relief piece that is then painted. Accessories 4/5 As is his obsession, Red Skull comes with a 6 inch scaled Tesseract accessory. This is of course a simple cast cube in a blue translucent colour. It would go on to be re-used in the Loki and Corvus Glaive 2-pack in 2019. The dimensions of the Tesseract are good and the colour deep and rich, with the translucency adding to the look. What is great is that Red Skull has a new right hand piece that is purely shaped to hold the Tesseract - making it a lovely display piece. With this in his hand there is no real need for other accessories, although throwing us the Luger style pistol as a second display option would have been great. Articulation 4/5 Red Skull has 19 points of articulation, but most of the leg joints are not really viable under that long coat. Head : ball joint pivot neck Body : ball joint torso, ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, bicep swivel, double joint elbows, pivot wrist Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double joint knees, ankle rockers The arms are fully mobile and with the double torso joints there is plenty of posing options for Skull even with the legs hemmed in by the coat. Skull stands perfectly on his own with ratcheted and secure ankle rockers Summary The only real issue with this Red Skull figure is the exclusivity. For me, this long coat Red Skull is one that every MCU collector should have in their collection - and is much more impressive than the basic release. The sculpt and paint job are excellent, and matched by great articulation and a solid accessory that has been thought through as to how the figure can hold it. If you can find this set or figure for a decent price, then you will not regret adding this Red Skull to your collection. I score it a very impressive 5 out of 5. Tamashii Nations are showing off a new Godzilla figure from the 2019 King of the Monsters movie at the Tamashii Nations Event in Tokyo. This Burning Godzilla is cast in a translucent orange plastic and is then painted over the top with shades of red, orange, greys and blacks to create the cracked lava effect. The figure is listed as display only so we are not sure if this figure will ever get a release. Images are from Dengeki Hobby Web

Images from a US Disney Store catalogue have emerged showing a pretty awesome looking Thanos coming in December from Diamond Select. The armoured Thanos, from Endgame, comes with his weapon and will be sold exclusively through Disney stores alongside the previously leaked Captain Marvel. We await confirmation that these figure will be available in the UK Disney stores and elsewhere Worldwide.

Diamond Select Toys have released details, via Comingsoon.net, the details of their 2nd Series of Westworld 7 inch select figures. We saw Teddy Flood (James Marsden) on display back at New York Comic Con 2019. The images shared for Flood indicate he has a removable hat, or a 2nd head option. He is joined in the usual 3 figure series by Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) and Clementine Pennyfeather (Angela Sarafyan). The three figures are due for a March 2020 release and will be packed on the same blister cards as the first wave. The figures will remain, as far as we know, exclusive to Walgreens in the US. They will get a worldwide release - with pre orders already being taken by BigBadToyStore.

We have an SH Figuarts Freddie Mercury 1/12 figure arriving in November 2019, complete in his iconic yellow leather jacket from 1986 Live at Wembley concert. Tamashii Nations have now revealed a second Freddie figure at the 2019 Tamashii Nation Event in Japan. This new SH Figuarts Freddy is wearing the white vest top from Queen's appearance at Live Aid. Medicom have released images of their new 1/12 Mera figure from Aquaman. The figure was revealed back in July 2019, and now we have confirmation of the figrues release for July 2020 - accompanied by promotional images and details. Mera will come with two head options as well as a number of FX pieces including the red wine spears she makes during the movie. She will also include the hologram artifact she and Aquaman use in the Sahara on their quest to find Atlan's Trident. From the 2018 film Aquaman, Mera is making a big splash in the MAFEX figure line by Medicom! Standing 6.3 inches (16cm) tall, she's sculpted with great care to reproduce every detail of her distinctive outfit and is fully poseable too.
