We initially saw Figma's new Starship Trooper action figures, from the animated Traitor of Mars movie, in July 2019 at the Summer Wonder Festival in Japan. Back then we had unpainted prototypes to look at. Now we have full colour images and some details about the first release. The listing and text comes from Hobbylink Japan. The set will include a Warrior Bug that stands about 4 inches (10cm) tall. There are then two human figures in Marine Power Suits. These are just over 2 inches tall (5.5cm) and are articulated. The standing figure includes an alternative Jonny Rico head. The other figure is designed as a victim of the Bug with a whole through his trunk area which can be slid onto the Bug's arms. The set includes an articulated stand to help pose the set. Expect to be paying around £73 plus shipping for the set, and the release date is October 2020. From the 2017 film "Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars" comes a figma of the Warrior Bug, the standard infantry unit of the Arachnid species! Its smooth yet posable figma joints allow you to act out a variety of different scenes from the movie, and it comes with two kinds of Power Suit miniature figures in the same scale. The standing pose miniature figure comes with both a Johnny Rico head part and generic soldier head part. Using special parts, the injured pose miniature figure can be displayed with the Warrior Bug to recreate intense combat scenes from the movie. The Jazwares 6 inch Fortnite Legendary Series Action Figure line continues to grow with the addition of Ragnarok. You may real Ragnarok was added to a promotional image for some of the 2020 releases, so we knew he was coming. The surprise is that he is a Max Level figure - a deluxe release where the armour and accessories are all individual pieces that can be added to the base body. The Max Level releases so far have been two versions of Omega. This new version of Ragnarok really showcases what this Max Level format can do with all of the individual armour pieces, cloak and helmet. The figure also comes with his Permafrost Harvesting Tool and he is armed with a Scoped Assault Rifle. Ragnarok is listed now on Amazon US (paid link) with a release date of the 6th February 2020. I'd expect UK stock to follow soon after. Ordering from Amazon US is possible, but the figure wil work out around £35 due to customs costs and shipping. UPDATE 29th Jan 2020 : this rifle has now been confirmed as being part of a new Ultimate release of the Lost Tribe Scout Predator from Predator II. At time of writing there is no news or confirmation of any NECA tie-in with the new Hunting Grounds videogame This week's #Prednesday reveal, or rather tease, from NECA were two images of new Predator weapons for their action figure line - a long range blaster rifle and some kind of mace or spiked whip. From what we've seen, these are not related to the Alpha Predator action figure. It is also not related, as far as I can see, to the Stealth Predator from the 2018 movie poster they teased over Xmas. They could be Dark Horse related, or some form of reimagined Kenner action figure. But the common assumption online is that these are part of a new set of action figures for the Predator Hunting Grounds video game that releases on 20th April 2020. "Predator: Hunting Grounds is an immersive asymmetrical shooter set in remote areas, where the Predator stalks the most challenging prey. Play as a member of an elite Fireteam and complete paramilitary operations before the Predator finds you. Or, play as the Predator to hunt the most worthy prey, choosing from your vast array of deadly alien tech to collect your trophies, one by one." The game, by Sony, has three classes of Predator - Scout, Hunter and Berserker - and a range of customizable options for each including helmets. Various weapons will be unlocked through gameplay. I could of course be getting this all wrong, so we will have to wait for more news from NECA to see how and where these fit into their Predator action figure line. NECA have another anniversary in mind for 2020, the 30th Anniversary of Predator II The first Predator out of the blocks for this big birthday is this Ultimate release of the Lost Tribe Scout Predator. The figure includes the original masked head and a brand new unmasked head sculpt. We now know where that teased long range blaster rifle is from and there is an FX blast piece which we assume clips on this blaster. Also included are open and closed disc weaponry, a gauntlet blaster and alternative hand options. More will be revealed at Toy Fair 2020 How do you celebrate 30 years? In ULTIMATE fashion that's how! A new image is being circulated around social media of a brand new Spawn 7 inch action figure from McFarlane toys. The image is taken from a Previews Catalogue and is a new addition to the McFarlane Mortal Kombat line. Spawn will be a playable "guest" character in Mortal Kombat 11 and this gives McFarlane an opportunity to bring us a new Spawn figure within an existing line. Robotkingdom have shared a raft of new images of the NECA Alien 40th Anniversary Series 1 action figures - and have also opened preorders for an international release around April 2020. The images look great, and confirm most of what we knew about Series 1. At present they are quite low res - I will update these when enhanced versions are shared. This first wave includes a repack of the Albino Concept Alien and a Dallas in Spacesuit which is essentially another re-release, although he has been updated with face print technology. The third figure is Ripley in her blue flight suit. This figure has a new head sculpt, also with face print technology. She is also packed with Jonesy and his Cat Carrier as well as her flamethrower and a motion tracker. The figures will come in Kenner inspired window box packaging and are part of a 9 figure line with two further waves planned. NECA have confirmed the full details of Series 2 of their 7 inch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Turtles in Time videogame assortment. Like Series 1, the second series is made up of four figures based on the original videogame with two "goodies" and two "baddies" in the wave. Series 2 brings us Michelangelo and Raphael to round out the Turtle foursome. It also gives us Shredder and Leatherhead. All four figures are decorated in a brighter colour pallet and with video game pixelated style. The two Turtles include appropriate weaponry as well as a hover board that doubles as a display stand. Michelangelo also includes a spinning nunchuck effect which looks great. Leatherhead comes with throwing knife and Shredder has a beam sword and blast FX pieces. Turtles in Time Series 2 is planned as a May 2020 release. The figures should arrive in the same window box packaging with graphics from the original arcade game cabinet. A couple of new images have been shared for the upcoming Star Wars Black Series 6 inch Commander Bly action figure. Bly is part of wave 24 of the Black Series Phase 3 packaging, the first wave of 2020. He will be packed alongside new figures of Count Dooku, Knight of Ren, Sith Jet Trooper and Zorii Bliss. The 6th figure in the wave will be a repack of the Yavin Luke Skywalker from wave 23. Bly and the rest of wave 24 are expected in March 2020. Just 24 hours after teasing two new Jim Carrey Ace Ventura head sculpts, NECA have announced the figure. This is a brand new 8 inch action figure which uses sculpted head and articulated body with soft good tailored clothing. This is Ace in the Shady Acres Hospital and is complete with his tutu. The figure has the two head sculpts previously teased and Wiggles the Yorkshire Terrier. Figure is due out in June 2020. NECA have shared more details about their 40th Anniversary Alien line including a look at the packaging. The Alien 40th Anniversary collection is coming . 3 series of 3 figures each. Randy Falk is talking about the most comprehensive collection of Alien 1979 action figures. The figures are packed in window boxes and not the usual clamshell. The box art is based on the original Kenner artwork and looks very striking. "Most were planned for last May but then certain negotiations took time and some things fell into place that were previously not possible so it was worth waiting to deliver the most comprehensive ALIEN collection ever made" If we look at the box art we can see figure names down the side which include the revised Ripley we saw a few weeks back, there is also a repack of the Prototype Albino Alien Big Chap and Dallas in Spacesuit. Like all human figures in the line we should see photo print technology on Ripley and Dallas. We've also seen prototypes for Brett and Parker, with Brett's production figure used in the tweet alongside the Ultimate Big Chap Alien already announced. That leaves 3 slots left and we believe that Kane - with a likeness of John Hurt - is one of them based on comments made by Randy Falk.
