As announced back at Toy Fair, the new Triceraton figures will be joining the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon line. The Series 4 release will feature a Triceraton Infantryman and two Roadkill Rodney figures. The set will also include weaponry for the Triceraton as well as Roadkill Rodney heds and rubble pieces to recreate them emerging from the ground. The set will be exclusive to Target in the US and release date should be relatively soon considering the boxed artwork has already been revealed. There will be availability globally, most likely a few weeks/months after the US stock arrives. NECA have also provided a promotional gallery for the set to get us excited for the Triceratons arrival. The Loyal Subjects have released some new images of their upcoming BST AXN Gandalf 5 inch Action Figure from Lord of the Rings. The BST AXN line from Loyal Subjects are articulated collector figures taken from a variety of media sources including film, music, anime and TV. Read more about it HERE. Gandalf is the first Lord of the Rings figure with a figure of Sauron also listed in some Wholesaler listings. This is Gandalf the Grey, as seen in The Fellowship of the Ring and he is packed with his Staff as well as his sword, Glamdring. The line is exclusive to Walmart in the US, but is getting a more general release here in the UK with a £15 - £20 price point. In 2020, Hasbro announced a new packaging format for the Star Wars Black Series. This Phase 4 packaging would be called the Galaxy Collection. This new format would group figures by movie or series - and would launch with two waves. Wave 1 was a mixed wave, while a 2nd wave would be a special release for Rebels. It would finally complete the Ghost crew with the release of Zeb as a Deluxe figure. It would also repack the previous Rebels figures, updating those who predated face printing to an improved decor. In this review we will be taking a look at the brand new figue of Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios Packaging 4.0 Zeb is released as part of a wider wave of figures, the Rebels wave, in the new Galaxy Collection Phase 4 packaging. He is a deluxe release due to his size, and therefore the box dimensions are extended width ways to incorporate the larger figure - while height and depth remain the same. The new box design features an angled right hand spine which displays new colour themed art for the character - with each Star Wars movie or show given an accent colour. For Rebels this is a vibrant purple. The images are very detailed with some element of the old Gregory Titus illustrations retained on closer inspection in terms of the grey scale base drawing and pen marks and lines. Each side panel is designed to match up to the next in line to make larger themed montages for inbox collectors. The angle design of the box does mean more shelf space is required to do this - but you can also see the logic when displaying the box face on, with the angle side maintaining visibility of the artwork while also showing off the figure. This purple theme continues on the box from by way of a bar under the window to confirm the source material as Star Wars Rebels - and in the character name text, which is a little lost against the black of the box. The other spine to the left includes the continuation of the purple bar, now slanting upwards, and a Black Series logo. The bar continues onto the back of the box where it splits the character information in the top two thirds from the legal and safety messaging. The new figures are now numbered by movie or tv show and this numbering only appears on the back of the box within this purple bar. Zeb is number #01 for Star Wars Rebels. The use of background text continues on the reverse of the box with a short piece of text in four languages sitting next to a repeat of the impressive artwork. "Meet the muscle of the Ghost team. Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios was a cunning Lasat Honor Guard who adopted the cause of rebellion against the Empire" The shape of the box does mean a lot of tape has to be used to keep it closed, and I counted 4 pieces on the top flap alone and another 3 down the black side - and where these sit on the black matt backing they can look unsightly. It is actually easier to remove the figure via the bottom tab which oddly only had one further piece of tape. Like some of the more recent Hasbro products, the figure tray, backing card and the actual window of the box now slide out. The backing card is a simple grey colour which will be consistent on all releases. The inner tray and outer window are not fastened together in anyway and the whole thing opens up to allow access to Zeb who is held in with the shape of the tray only - there are no ties or fastenings to negotiate. Paint & Sculpt 4.5 Zeb is a bulky figure standing 7 inches tall and therefore well scaled against the other members of the Ghost crew. The head sculpt has been translated from the animated style to a more realistic setting and it is really impressive. Zeb's features are replicated really well, as is his grumpy scowl - which looks more menacing if you angle the head down when posing. The decor for the head includes shading into the wrinkles and creases of the Lasat features while the eyes are glossy and green. The facial hair has a grey base colour with wisps of white through it for more texture. The costume is faithfully recreated, . The armoured parts are two shades of green and include notches and scratches in the sculpt for wear and tear - although these are not painted any further past the base color. The graffiti design on the left shoulder is in place in a white paint but will of course go out of line if the arm is moved. Zeb is then wearing his brown and yellow jumpsuit directly The whole outfit is perhaps missing some weathering and grime and by adding this we may have moved away from the animated style and to a more realistic "live in world" finish as seen very recently on figures like Hondo and Cad Bane who have made a similar transition. Where Zeb's skin is exposed on his arm and legs we see a tiger stripe design of dark purple stripes on lighter purple. This is done well with shaded areas of lighter skin in places on the inner arms and the feet. The transition to this lighter skin on the feet is too stark with a visible line where the darker skin ends at the joint and the lighter tone begins. Accessories 4.5 Zeb comes armed with what I believe may be the most articulated/complex accessory to date in the Star Wars Black Series line. The AB75 Bo Rifle arrives as a fully extended staff in the box, and while there are no clear instructions - with a bit of fiddling you can actually adjust this to other configurations for use with Zeb. The first is the collapsed mode where the whole weapon is retracted. In this forma you have two pins on the central shaft that correspond to the holes on Zeb's back. The weapon slots into place and can be carried as a slung weapon. If you then pull the two ends the weapon extends via the central shaft and you can also rotate this section so the handles are both on the top or are one on either side. These handles fold in and out for the rifle configuration and Zeb can then hold this as a blaster rifle. By returning the two handles to the top and then extending the final end pieces you return to the full staff configuration. The staff can be further enhanced by the inclusion of two electro FX pieces that are cast in a translucent purple. They have a tube at the end which slots over the ends of the Bo Rifle for a charged design. Zeb's hands are large and designed to grip the staff via the central piece. This works fine, but it isn't quite big enough for two handed weapon posing - with the 2nd hand wanting to grip where the wrappings are sculpted, but not being big enough to get that grip. Articulation 3.0 Zeb has a total of 19 points of articulation, with two new joints in the legs due to the Lasat physiology. Head : ball joint neck joint - head and base of neck Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbows, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double joint knees, shin rotating hinge, ankle rocker The legs take some getting used to as the joint at the shin makes it a little more difficult to plan the feet when standing Zeb up. These are essentially designed to bend backwards to create that specific style of the Lasat posture. The head, while looking quite squat and immobile, moves pretty well thanks to joints at both the head and the base of the neck. The arms are quite bulky and sadly do not have the butterfly joint to bring them inwards a little more for two handed weapon - or staff - posing. The armour is designed to withdraw under the chest piece so both arms can be raised and posed. Posing with the rifle is OK and some nice posing can be achieved. Less so with the staff which can look awkward with no movement inward at the shoulder and limited elbow bend There is sadly one overwhelming issue with Zeb's articulation - and that is loose joints. The arms are loose at the shoulders and do not hold themselves upright. The hips are looser than I'd like for a bulkier figure, and those new shin joints have no strength in them at all. This leaves Zeb tough to pose and hold in an upright position and you may need to consider a stand of sorts to avoid shelf diving incidents (my Zeb has already dived off once in less than a day of being on display). Summary Zeb is a long awaited arrival in the Black Series, and allows us to complete the Rebels crew and with the added bonus of a re-release alongside Zeb for the other Rebels figures for anyone who missed out the first time or who wants a face print decor update for those that pre-date that technology. I do like the new boxes and artwork and the organisational thought process behind the new numbering and colour schemes. The boxes will take up the same amount of space as the older format ones if stored face on, they will need more room if you utilise the angle to display the montage artwork. The use of so much tape to keep the box sealed would frustrate me if I was a boxed collector. The figure itself is of sufficient height and bulk for Zeb and the face sculpt is really impressive. The armour and body design is a good translation but I would have perhaps like to have seen the colours muted or weathered a little more. The Bo RIfle is well engineered and allows for multiple display options and its great that so much functionality was built in. The issue lies with the articulation and the loose joints which stop Zeb from being posed successfully especially thanks to those loose joints added along the shin. If those could be tightened up and the shoulders given a similar treatment then Zeb would be heading for very high marks. NECA have shared the packaging images of their Halloween 2 double pack of Laurie Strode and Doctor Loomis. The 8 inch set features soft good tailored clothing over articulated sculpted bodies and appropriate accessories, including a Jack-o-Lantern. The set is due for release in early October and should be with collectors for Halloween 2020. Based on their appearance in the classic 1981 sequel, each figure stands approximately 8″ tall. They come complete with pistols, an interchangeable hand, and a pumpkin based on the movie poster artwork. Figures are highly detailed and fully poseable featuring the authorized likenesses of Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis. Window box packaging recreates the look of Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. To celebrate Batman Day 2020 (19th September), Mezco have announced a brand new One:12 Collective Batman figure, the Supreme Knight. This is another in their evolution of Batman and depicts the Dark Knight in the final years of his campaign in Gotham City. The figure will feature three head options and a raft of hand options. There are two capes which swap via a magnetic connection in the collar - one cape is a soft leather type goods version designed to hang loose, while the other includes a posing wire for dynamic displays. There is another magnet in the chest, which allows the chest emblem to be swapped out - with three versions provided. We also have a number of weapons including Batarangs, Equalizer Cannon, dual blade karambit and grappling gun with hooks. The figure is a Mezco Exclusive, sold only via the Mezco store. The figure can be shipped Internationally with any custom charges arranged at the point of order. The RRP is $95 and the figure will ship pretty sharpish for a Mezco with an October 2020 release date. Mezco’s One:12 Batman trilogy concludes with Batman: Supreme Knight. McFarlane have shared details of another DC Multiverse Wave based on The Last Knight on Earth story arc. The figure images, as below, were shared on the McFarlane Social Channels with Todd McFarlane giving some behind the scenes details of the prototypes and design inspiration via video. The four figures include The Scarecrow, Wonder Woman, Omega Batman and the Last Knight on Earth Batman. The latter will come with his lantern and indications are via Todd's video that there is an alternative helmeted head for Wonder Woman. The wave will be a Build-A wave. In the behind the scenes video, looking at the designs and prototypes, Todd McFarlane revealed the BAF would be a Bane figure and that the Scarecrow is designed to hook over his shoulders - as seen in the comic art. The wave will go up for pre-order in November 2020 and is a February 2021 release. .

It was May 2020 when it was confirmed that McFarlane would be producing Action Figures from the 2020 Dune remake directed by ‎Denis Villeneuve. We now have a look at the first figures from the movie, with this image of four 7 inch figures from McFarlane. Each are wearing their Arakkis Still Suits Survival Gear and while the likenesses are not the best on this image the four look to be (from right to left) Stilgar (Javier Bardem), Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) and Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa) The wave will also feature a Build-A-Figure. if you collect all four figures then you will be able to build the "The Beast" Glossu Rabban Harkonnen, as played by Dave Bautista. Each figure will come with appropriate weaponry, a display stand and the BAF parts. They are scheduled to be Autumn 2020 releases. McFarlane have announced another Dune (2020) figure today in the shape of a Baron Harkonnen, as played by Stellan Skarsgard Rather than be in the 7 inch scale with the other figures already announced, the Baron will be a 12 inch release. McFarlane have done these dual scale releases before with Fortnite as a recent example, and have them planned again for The Witcher. In that regard this is nothing new. It is however a little annoying for fans not to get the Baron in the same scale as the other figures - but hopefully that will be resolved if the line continues past Wave 1. The Baron will feature a display stand so he can be shown hovering as seen in the movie. Like the 7 inch scale figures, The Baron will be an Autumn 2020 release. Hasbro have kindly shared the itinerary and some more details for Hasbro Pulse Con that starts on Friday the 25th of September and runs to Saturday the 26th of September. The event celebrates all of Hasbro's properties with guest appearances through the two days as well as product unboxing and new product reveals. There will also be music from Tenacious D an Fall Out Boy as well as Q+A sessions with the likes of John Cena. "Special appearances by John Cena, Joe Manganiello, Ashley Eckstein and Henry Golding, music performances by Fall Out Boy, Lights and Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, and 2-days of interactive experiences, new reveals and exciting guests behind Hasbro’s iconic fan brands; Only on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel" All of the action for Hasbro Pulse Con will be on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel. There will be some preview activity on Tuesday the 22nd of September at 5pm UK time (12noon EST). On Wednesday the 23rd of September members of Hasbro Pulse (US and Canada) will get early access to the various Summer Convention Exclusives. Due to the Coronavirus Global Pandemic in 2020, all Conventions and Events were cancelled leaving toy companies with prepared Exclusives that could not longer be sold at the Events. These were moved to online Exclusives and sold via Hasbro Pulse in the US and Canada in the main, and via the Fan Channel (Specialist Retailers) elsewhere. The Cad Bane and TODO 360 set had been planned to be a shared European Exclusive for Summer 2020 and it was put up for sale online in Europe in August for a September release. US collectors would have to wait until the 1st of October for their turn. Packaging 4.5 Cad Bane is the first exclusive released in the new Phase 4 packaging, the Galaxy Collection. Being an exclusive the construction and layout is different though to what we will get with the Galaxy Collection boxes. It is larger for a start, even coming in an inch wider than the Zeb deluxe box and a few mm's deeper. There is an outer sleeve in black that carries an impressive glossy yellow Black Series logo. Across the base of this is a gloss black strip to confirm this as a Star Wars ; The Clone Wars release. The black sleeve has a plain black side, save another Black Series logo, and a pretty empty reverse with another repeated logo, confirmation again as Clone Wars as the source and the usual safety and legal text. The entirety of the black sleeve is a finger print magnet - as you can see from a few of our images. While they will wipe off to a degree, I found several around the back were too stubborn to remove. The outer sleeve gives way to the inner box by means of the slanted right hand side. This carries the new Galaxy collection colour hued illustrations of the character - yellow for Clone Wars - and the first confirmation of the contents & character name. This inner piece can be slid out from this slanted side and we now find the figure beneath in a white gloss box. There is another yellow Star Wars Black Series logo at the top with the character name on the bottom rail. Instead of a window, there are three open compartments that are backed in the same yellow and they contain Cad Bane, TODO and the two blasters. The inner box does not slide all the way out thanks to a tab that is built into the box to stop full removal - so don't force this out or it will tear. This would frustrate me if I was a boxed collector who wanted to display the figure as the tab doesn't quite allow the sleeve to expose the full character name or the full illustration on the reverse - which is a repeat of the side artwork. Cad Bane has no numbering in the new line, it is unclear as yet if the side artwork will line up to other Clone Wars releases or not? As we saw with the previous phase packaging, a short bio piece is included on the box reverse next to the artwork. CAD BANE A ruthless bounty hunter from the planet Duro, no quarry was too dangerous for Cad Bane... if the price was right TODO 360 Cad Bane's techno-service droid had many build-in gadgets that made him incredibly useful, but he also had an attitude to match. If you are an opener of your figures but want to retain the box integrity for any reason, then you will have to be very careful with this one to get the box open and the figure out. The side tab on the inner box, the one with the image, is taped in place and will most likely rip even if you cut the tape and try to move the tabs carefully. You need to go in via the top of the white box, but to do this you have to detach it from the outer sleeve. This is done via the left hand side of the black outer box where you will find a white piece into which the inner strap is taped. Be warned the black side is still very difficult to open without ripping the box. Once released and the top is opened the figure will slide out in a cardboard inner tray. This is brown cardboard with the yellow pieces inserted into it. The figure, the guns and TODO are all strapped in by plastic ties. While you can cut these from the front, they are very tight to the figure so are best cut from the back. Cad then sits into a plastic tray with his coat tails tucked through the other side, so remove him with care so not to scratch the paint or plastic. Paint & Sculpt 5.0 When he is finally out of the box, you will see that Cad Bane is an impressive specimen in terms of detailing and sculpt. The head of our Duros Bounty Hunter is translated well from The Clone Wars animated style to a slightly fuller face and more aligned to a real world version. That snarl is there in the fae and the blank red eyes stare out from under the brim of the hat. The hat itself can be removed, it is a rubberised piece that sits naturally on the head but without being fixed so it can be repositioned or removed as you see fit. Cad Bane has his rebreather in place too that plugs into the face at either side. The costume, also translated to a more realistic finish - but remains faithful to the Clone Wars design. We have the long brown overcoat with the long tails reaching down to the ankles. This is trimmed with silver on the fastenings. The inner vest is a varying brown shade and is weathered with dry brushing of a softer brow. Round the waist are two ridged belts of ammunition, each tipped with silver. The two wrist pieces are compete with the communication and control panels with red indicator lights painted onto the gun metal colour base. The trouser are grey, with more dry brushing to add weathering and wer. To the base are the two rocket booster pieces painted in silver. TODO 360 is sculpted pretty close to how he appears in Clone Wars with the huge head on top of the small chest section and large waist. He is cast in a gunmetal silver with darker grey added into the panels on the head and on that circular waist segment. The eyes are coloured yellow. Everything on TODO is well proportioned and the angles are crisp, and the curves smooth and in line with what we see on screen. As a packed accessory he would be amazing, in this case he is a named character included in the box and that is pretty cool too and he certainly exceeds other such pack in characters like BB8, Babu Frik and D-0 in terms of size, sculpt and finish. Accessories 5.0 Cad Bane is armed with a pair of LL-30 blaster pistols. These are sleek and well sculpted with discernible ridges on the grips and detailing around the sights and he barrel. They are silver as a base colour with a brown added to the grip and as a strip down the barrel. They fit into both hands, with right and left coming with a trigger finger that can be slotted into place - albeit these fingers are a little stiffer than the usual softer plastic. When not in use, they can be slotted into the two working holsters on the hips. As we know the hat is also removable. It is cast in a rubbery plastic and shaped to snugly fit the head without looking oversized. Essentially it can fit on either way round, but there is some weathering via a smattering of brown paint on the rim that sits at the front when he arrives. The breather piece is also removable. The issue with this is that it pops off a little too easily as you move the head or the hat. I don't see any reason why this could not have been glued in place? There is then a satchel piece that comes on the figurem but it is a removable piece. It is cast in a darker brown with no other paint job. While its not overly flexible, it is designed to hang naturally alongside the shape of the coat. Articulation 5.0 Cad Bane weighs in with a very impressive set of articulation, including the new neck format with articulation top and bottom, and the butterfly shoulders. There is also what looks like a new format for the arms with a bicep joint included alongside the rotating elbow. Even the boosters are articulated so they can be rotated into position on each leg. Head : ball joint neck, ball joint neck base Body : torso ball joint Arms : ball joint shoulder, butterfly shoulder, bicep swivel, single rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hip, thigh swivel, single rotating knee, rotating boosters, ankle rocker In all I make that an articulation count of 23 in total. And each joint is very well hidden with shaped leg and arm overlaps hiding the swivels and no obvious pins on the knees or elbows. It is all very impressive and sets an exciting precedent for the future figures. The one thing you notice immediately is how emotive posing is with Cad Bane. He can touch the brim of his hat to tip it in appreciation, and can remove and hold the hat as though brushing it clean or adjusting its fit. The gunslinger poses are awesome too, either drawing the blasters from his holsters or shooting the weapons. Cad Bane also has flight ability in The Clone Wars with those booster rockets, and if you drop Bane onto an aftermarket flight stand he looks just as good in flight or taking off poses. Every joint is tight, but works perfectly. Many are ratcheted, and this includes the ankle rockers which are often a weak spot on the Black Series. Cad Bane stands perfectly well on his own. TODO 360 is also articulated, and more so than you might expect from first glance. The head is a ball joint on the neck socket. The arms are ball joints at the shoulder, as are the legs at the hips and again at the ankle area over the round feet pieces. There is also a swivel joint behind the circular waist section to allow his top half to tilt to either side. Due to the slim arms and legs, the joints for these are a little looser than we might like and it takes a while to pose TODO securely, not helped by the weight in that large head piece. TODO can also fly, as seen in The Clone Wars, and you can pose him in this mode with the feet turned out to become boosters or repulsors. I've not yet found a stand that works as most are too big - but I will keep trying as I think he will look even better hovering at Cad Bane's shoulder on display. Summary The Cad Bane Exclusive set has been wildly popular in the early weeks of release at the European sellers and considering it doesn't hit the US until October. A lot of this is hype and fear of missing out, but as more and more people get this in hand - that popularity will certainly grow on the back of how fantastic a figure this is. Everything is pretty much spot on. The sculpt and paint are well done and translated well to a more real world feel. The paint and decor are excellent. Accessories are good and the inclusion of TODO (who will be exclusive to this set) really sets it off. The packaging is very visual with contrasting black, white and yellow tones - but you will have to be very careful of greasy finger marks. While the figure is perfect in every way, the box has a slight flaw in terms of the ability to display. Previously sleeved figures like Captain Rex or Jyn Erso have had the ability for the sleeve to be fully removed to display the figure, here the strapping in the box doesn't allow this without some adjustment and the sleeve does not quite open enough to reveal the full inner box. For the European RRP of £29.99, the Cad Bane and TODO set is well worth the money. I would not even begrudge paying the import price considering the finish and execution of both figures. I hope the standard Cad Bane release is just as impressive (no reason why not) and that any collectors who missed out on this in the early weeks get another opportunity at some point to add this to their Black Series collection.
