New promotional images have been circulated for the McFarlane figures from The Witcher, specifically The Witcher 3 : WIld Hunt. The images give us a better look at the already announced 7 inch figures of Geralt of Rivia in his Kaer Morhen armour, and at Eredin Bréacc Glas. Geralt will come with both swords, that will also slot into working sheaths on the figures back. He also comes with the Wild Hunt Wolfs Head. Eredin Bréacc Glas will come with his sword. Both figures will also include display stands. The new 7 inch line figures will land around March 2021. They will join the Gold Label Collection version of Geralt, this will be a Walmart exclusive in the US and will be out a little earlier in January 2021. There will also be a 12 inch deluxe version of Geralt. He will also feature both swords, and a bunch of severed heads. He too will be a March 2021 release. We have more McFarlane Mortal Kombat variants confirmed this week, with a new two pack listed on Amazon US for Raiden and Scorpion. Both figures use their existing base figures, with another repaint applied. Scorpion is in his Blackout skin and is armed with his twin Katanas, complete with Sheaths. Raiden is painted in the Uncompromising Defender Skin with his Staff. The set will also include the usual display stands for both figures. While New York Comic Con 2020 was cancelled, the smaller Toy Con NJ event on the same weekend was the place to be for some new NECA product reveals. The NECA team were in attendance and had some new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle product to show off. Coming in Spring 2021 in the Turtles in Time Video Game line is a new 2-Pack of Pirate Bebop and Pirate Rocksteady. And for the back end of 2020, we got a first look at the Lootcrate Bebop in the Bunny Suit which will be a bonus figure release for subscribers who bought the other three TMNT crates this year. He was displayed with a Rocksteady, also in a Bunny Suit, who is likely to be the version of Rocksteady in the 3rd crate - but had not been revealed fully. The Star Wars Black Series Heroes of Endor Exclusive Box Set was originally planned as a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive in 2020. With the Covid 19 pandemic the SDCC 2020 event, like all conventions, was cancelled and the exclusives from Hasbro were held back from July and then sold in September during Hasbro Pulse Con, Hasbro's online convention event. The set features four figures and a re-issued Speeder Bike, all wrapped up in an exclusive box with diorama panels. Our review of the Heroes of Endor Set will be broken down into four reviews - one for each figure included - as well as a look at the packaging and unboxing each element. Checkout the other Heroes of Endor figures : Luke Skywalker Princess Leia Han Solo Packaging 4.0 The Heroes of Endor set is presented in rectangular black box with green Star Wars Black Series Logo on the front face, and beneath this - in a solid black stripe - is a confirmation of the film base as Return of the Jedi and then the name of the set as the HEROES OF ENDOR. It is impressive when you start to look closely at the box that there are images in the black of the box using different finishes with the trees of the Endor Forest Moon visible on one side and the Death Star looming above. This pattern continues down the right hand side panel, while the left is plain, except for some green shades towards the back. The back of the box see's a repeat of the Black Series logo and a green fading segment coming in from one side. The movie name is repeated again in the same black stripe that runs round the full box. Under this we have the various legal and safety messages. Our review copy is a UK/European release and we have an over sticker on the front to the side of the 4+ message blanking something out. On the back, the safety messages are also an over sticker ensuring the messages are region specific I assume. The only window initially visible on the box is the triangular cut out on the top through which you can see the top of Paploo's head and the Speeder Bike. Box Dimension : Closed Width 25cm / 9.75 inches Depth 36cm / 14 inches Height 21cm / 8.25 inches This outer packaging is a sleeve that is then lifted off to reveal the contents of the set beneath across three diorama windows. The sleeve itself is quite thin and will damage easily so needs to be handled with care. With the sleeve section removed, the box now presents with three windows - one front, and one either side. Each panel shows a diorama from The Return of the Jedi with the accompanying figure(s). Paploo is front and centre, named underneath the window as PAPLOO and under this, SPEEDER BIKE. The window backdrop features a speed blurred Endor Forest backdrop with Paploo sat in the centre hanging on to the Speeder Bike. To the right hand side is Luke in his Endor Poncho and Helmet brandishing his lightsaber between two tree trunks. Again, the character name sits bottom left under the window and is simply named as LUKE SKYWALKER. To the left we have Han Solo and Princess Leia at the door of the Imperial Bunker. Han is not wearing his Trench coat and Leia is without her helmet - screen accurate for the scene they are recreating. Han is posed with his blaster outstretched to one side, with Leia kneeling and aiming her blaster to the other side. Under the window we have the characters named again with HAN SOLO on the top line and PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA underneath. If you go all the way to the back of the box you find the three segments combining to make up the box reverse. The right hand panel, as we look, carries the Black Series logo. And the left panel has a piece of background text which is pretty extensive vs what we normally get on the Black Series boxes. "The Empire built the second Death Star in secret above the lush forest moon of Endor, located on the fringes of settled space in a far corner of the galaxy. To protect the station during construction, Imperial engineers placed a shield generator on the moon's surface. Scout Troopers patrolled the woods on Speeder Bikes, but the Empire dismissed Endor's native Ewoks as primitives that posed no threat. The Ewoks, however, were not to be underestimated. They were brave warriors and quick to learn new ways. They accepted the Rebel Alliance's warriors into their tribe and decided to join the fight against the Galactic Empire, using bows and arrows, catapults and log traps to take down Stormtroopers and Scout Walkers. The Ewoks turned the tide, allowing the Rebel commandos to destroy the shield generator and leave the Death Star vulnerable to orbital assault." The three triangular segments are designed with a hinge connecting the two side segments to the central piece. This allows the whole box to be opened up to display all three dioramas at once. The practicality of displaying this way is that it will take up quite a bit of shelf space both in terms of its width, and in the fact the shelf needs to be deep enough to accomodate the central Paploo section. There is a part opened option where the two side panels are swept back a little which reduces the overall width, but leaves all three diorama panels visible. Box Dimension : Open Full Width 96m / 36.75 inches Partial Open Width 78cm / 31 inches Depth 36cm / 14 inches Height 21cm / 8.25 inches There is further artwork on the reverse of these opened panels with green glow added to the Forest Moon and Death Start artwork. It is truly beautiful, and a waste almost considering its on the back of a box. Unboxing The central segment containing Paploo and the speeder bike is accessed via the bottom flap of the segment where a number of tabs have to be slit to clear them of tape so the flap can be opened safely. I will say due to the shape and the number of tabs, doing this without any damage to the box will be difficult. The diorama slides out as a complete piece, with Paploo and the Speeder Bike sat into a plastic tray in the centre. This central tray encompasses the stand for the speeder bike and the easiest way to free the bike is to turn the piece upside down and carefully remove or slit the tape holding the tabs in place until the unit lifts off. Don't miss Paploo's spear on the right hand side which is held in by two plastic ties. The cardboard diorama is simply plain cardboard on the sides, but there is probably a display piece in there with some work. You can open it up by cutting the tape on the right hand side which separates the base from the side piece. Once the tray holding Paploo and the bike is out of the box you can pull off the stand from the bike. There are then a number of bands holding the bike in place, once these are snipped the bike can be lifted free. Paploo remains posed on the bike, held on with clear elasticated ties securing the hands to the handlebars. Don't worry, Paploo will go back on easily enough in his riding position. Paint & Sculpt 4.0 Teebo looks fantastic with an individual face sculpt for the character with glossy black eyes as well as the nose and open mouth with bared teeth. The fur across the body is all sculpted detail and in great detail and executed well around the joints without upsetting the flow of the figure. Paploo is cast in the brown colour of his fur with the only body paint detail added to the hands and toes. Paploo's hood is a rubbery piece and this is cast in its base tan colour with feathers and trophies added under the chin and above the head and these are then painted in a single colour and done neatly. Like a lot of the Black Series, a wash or weathering would have been nice here to bring out more detail on the hood including the stitching. The final outfit section is a belt strap that is a further separate piece cast in rubbery plastic. It hangs unfixed around his waist. It features a knife in a sheath on the right hand side and some black paint is applied to the sheath in two circular panels, which is accurate to the movie prop. Sadly the knife is not removable. The hood on Paploo is removable to reveal the full sculpted head underneath. These flexible rubber hoods and head pieces will be the root for Hasbro to bring us more Ewoks over time, and this is fine by me assuming these parts offer the variation for different Ewoks as well as their fur cover. Paploo uses the buck from Teebo as expected although the head is a variant sculpt and further variation is provided by the hood and the weapons straps. He stands 4 inches tall and therefore in scale with the human figures like the Imperial Scout Trooper shown below. The Speeder Bike has a brand new stand for this release. The triangular stand has gone and we now have a clear cloud like effect that is the same one as used on the Enfys Nest Speeder from Solo : A Star Wars Story. This new base gives a better aesthetic look, but you do lose the ability the old release had of displaying the bike at three varying heights by alternating the points of the triangular base. The bike itself is almost identical to the older release, although the foot pedals seem to be sat a little higher. The paint work is neat and tidy with a brown base with gunmetal and silver brushed metallic components. Silver paint is used to add scratches and scrapes with a sand colour used on the saddle bag. Accessories 3.5 Paploo has one singular accessory, a two pronged spear that is cast like it was constructed from a sapling tree trunk. Detail is added underneath the prongs with some twine wrapping. There is also a fur section further down - these two are painted while the rest of the speak is left in the base light brown colouring. The spear is screen accurate, but might have looked better if darker tones were used. It fits in either hand, and the articulation of Paploo will allow two handed poses. The lack of the knife being a useable accessory is a shame, but aside from this there is nothing else I can think of to include with Paploo - other than the Speeder Bike of course. Articulation 4.0 The newly introduced Ewok buck has a total of 15 points of articulation. Paploo's articulation count is therefore good considering his stature, but the body shape has seen some of them changed from more mobile double joints to single pivots only. Head : ball joint neck post top and bottom Body : ball joint torso Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, single joint rotating knees, ankle rocker The head is reasonably mobile on its double ended ball joint post and it can be rotated and tilted, which is great as an Ewok mannerism in the movie is the tilted head quizzical look. The body joint allows rotation of the torso and also allows a degree of lean forward and backward and side to side. While the arms are quite stubby they are fully mobile and the elbow in particular can bend well beyond 90 degrees. While they do not have a butterfly joint, the length of the weaponry and the articulation of the arms allows two handed poses with the spear. The legs are also stubby, and will just about allow Teebo to sit. Balancing him in stances needs you to work with all three leg joints or a secure stance, but once posed Teebo stands fine. All the joints are secure and tight. The one pose that is in place from the point the box is opened, is Paploo riding the Speeder Bike. This has to be disassembled to extract the parts from the packaging - but thankfully can be realised again quite easily. Paploo's hands grip the steering controls easily, using the rotation in the wrist to get them to the required angle. Like we see on screen, Paploo's legs are too short to straddle the bike seat, so he sits just above the seat and leaning forward into the steering. This looks fine, but I would have liked a little bit more movement in the torso or neck so he could be looking fully forward. It is worth noting that the Speeder Bike itself includes some articulated parts. These are a rotating cannon underneath the main chassis and the pivot joints on the two thrust panels at the back of the bike. Summary Looking first at the set, and the box for Heroes of Endor is glorious and I love the diorama settings for each panel. It is not overly robust, with a very slim cardboard on the sleeve. If you want to open it but keep the box and an option for repacking at a later date - then extreme care needs to be taken and you are unlikely to come out with the box completely unscathed. If you are keeping this boxed, then displaying it will require a significant shelf size to have it opened up. It is also a pity the glorious green artwork is on the rear of the opened box and not used more on the front facings of the box. Paploo as a figure is an excellent sculpt, and despite it being a shared body with Teebo it looks significantly different and brings his own personality to the Black Series. The articulation work, and allows him to ride the Speeder Bike and the accessory is screen accurate - it is just a shame that the knife is fixed in the sheath. Paploo is, as we are lead to believe, exclusive solely to the Heroes of Endor set. The Speeder Bike has not changed significantly, although I do like the new stand from a visual perspective - although you do lose the option or displaying at varying heights. With other Speeder Bike riders included in the set (Luke and Leia) I do hope Hasbro might consider a re-release of this one in the future too. Stick it in the same box as the Exclusive Wampa and sell it without a figure for collectors to choose how many they need to go on their Endor display. It is truly beautiful, and a waste almost considering its on the back of a box. Unboxing The side section containing Luke is accessed via the thicker end of the wedge shaped section. You will need to cut or very carefully remove the circular seal tape and open the flap. The entire inner piece will then slide out as a single component. The backing piece is a Forest view with Luke posed between two trees that are actually 3D and sit out from the backdrop as individual folded cardboard pieces. Luke is in the centre in a plastic tray piece posed with his lightsaber raised. If you turn the segment round, the reverse and wedge side are plain cardboard and that on the back we have two sets of black tabs holding the tree pieces in place, and in the middle some clear tabs to hold in Luke. Once the tape is cut and the clear tabs removed, Luke is free of the background and leaves two slits only in the panel. While the Paploo piece was perhaps to big and awkwardly shaped to be useful as a diorama - the thinne wedged profile of Luke's segment is certainly something I could (and may well) use on a shelf display - maybe with a few tweaks? Luke sits in a shaped plastic tray once removed from the backing. There is a multitude of plastic ties holding him into the pose and each one needs to be removed carefully. The easiest way is to cut them from behind. There is a tricky one on the right arm hidden by the poncho and a sneaky one that is almost invisible holding the base of the saber blade. I missed this one and nearly snapped the saber trying to get Luke free. Paint & Sculpt 3.0 To take us through the figure in its entirety I am going to start with a look at the base figure that sits under the helmet and poncho. The head sculpt is impressive and uses the face print tech to give us one of the best Hamill likenesses to date with defined eyes, shading around the face as well as well sculpted and painted hair. Sadly the body is less impressive. It is predominantly cast in black plastic and is not very flattering in terms of the proportions, giving Luke a very slim torso and quite bandy wide hips with legs that sit a little unnaturally around the groin piece. The boots are given a glossier black finish and the right hand - damaged on Jabba's sail barge - is also painted a varying black tone. The body is a full re-use from the Jedi Knight Luke from 2014 which had issues back then. Without the belt the hip proportions are even more thrown out as an aesthetic and the lack of width to the chest is also noticeable. The same body was used in 2019 on Jabba's Palace Luke, although in this instance an added Tunic piece did help the look of the figure significantly. As we will see, the Endor Poncho pays a similar role here. For those wanting this to be a final battle in the Emperor's Throne Room definitive version - your wait will go on. Accessories 4.0 Luke's lightsaber is included with the set and it uses the existing sculpt for his ROTJ saber hilt. The colouring is updated with a brighter silver base. Details also include the black ridged central section and gold on the panels. The top emitter remains a weak spot, and having this snag on the tiny clear tie that is holding it in the packaging does not help. The green translucent blade arrives nice and straight although it is slightly weaker shade of green than previous green blade sabers. The connection to the hilt is by means of a very thin insert that slots into place. This is another weak spot and mine is already showing stress lines from just a couple of change overs. The saber hilt will fit in either hand and two handed poses are also achievable. Remember that new black painted right hand? For some reason it has a trigger finger - yet Luke does not have a blaster in the set. This does look a bit odd when he his handling his saber with his finger stuck out. They've also left the hook on the end of the saber, but there is no hook on Luke's belt to hang it either on the base figure or the belt with the Poncho. Luke's Poncho is a soft goods piece that is camo coloured on the outside and plain tan brown in the middle. It slots over Luke's head with quite a wide collar and a stitched hood that is for show and cant be raised over Luke's head. The Poncho is fitted by means of a soft plastic belt. The belt slots through two slits in the Poncho and then fastens at the back of Luke's body, holding the front of the Poncho in place but leaving the back loose. The fixing on this is very tight and it takes a bit of stretching to slot the fastener into place. Like any soft goods, there will be an element of tweaking and playing to get the look you want. The material is soft enough to look OK at this scale but not too fragile that it is easily ripped or freyed. The front looks fine once secured by the belt, while the back is the bit that runs wild. It would have been good to allow the belt to wrap the back of the Poncho if you wanted to rein it in a little, but the belt is only just big enough for the front piece. The neck piece is oversized and tends to slip around and to the side too much. The final accessory is Luke's helmet. This is a rubberised piece with Endor Camouflage decor. It is cast in a sandy brown colour with painted green and brown sections, some silver for scratches and damage and a neat circular yellow and red insignia to the front right. The fit over Luke's head is snug and the helmet looks perfectly fitted and not oversized or out of proportion. The chin strap disconnects from the helmet on the right hand side to allow the helmet to be taken on and off. Getting the plug back in the socket is fiddly, but it sits OK without having it fully attached. Articulation 3.0 The issue with Endor Luke being on an older body is that the articulation remains a little dated. Luke has a total of 16 points of articulation. These include the older format head joint where we have both a ball joint and a visible pivot in the neck - this is thankfully hidden when the helmet is in place. Head : ball joint neck with pivot Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, single joint rotating knees, ankle rocker The arms are mobile enough, but lightsaber posing would have been a lot more dynamic had Luke had the Butterfly options in the shoulders and the wider reaching elbows that we are now seeing on the newer releases. The bandy legs on the old figure were a pain to get him to stand, impacted further by some odd ratchet positions in the ankle rockers so the feet never seemed to be flat to the floor. These exact same issues exist on the new figure and there is also a lot of looseness in the hips, an issue the Jabba's Palace Luke also suffered with. Thankfully you can work round most of these, and the proportional issues and awkward posing is significantly disguised with the poncho and with this soft good piece in place and tucked and secured to your liking Luke is a much nicer figure. The Heroes of Endor Set comes with a Speeder Bike, and it is good to see that Luke has sufficient articulation to ride it - if he can get Paploo out of the way. The hands grip the steering very well and the body and legs bend into a riding position. It is at this point you do realise that Hasbro have left the peg on the foot plates in the same place and these do not line up with the peg holes in Luke's feet - this is a shame as you will struggle to get the feet to sit flat with the peg keeping them at bay by not lining up Summary Endor Luke on the face of it is a good looking figure, although a lot of issues are hidden away behind that new soft good Poncho. The head sculpt and decor is very good and the helmet works well. The Poncho needs some tweaking to sit right on the figure, but with work it looks pretty good. Without the Poncho, this is the same Luke Jedi body as 2016 and that brings with it some issues with both aesthetics in terms of proportions as well as articulation issues. It is not that there is insufficient articulation, it just doesn't work too well in the leg area in particular. There is no denying Luke looks awesome on the Speeder Bike and posed in his full Endor gear, I just perhaps wanted to see Hasbro finally update that Jedi Luke body to something more in line with the quality of figures we are getting now. I had planned to double dip on Luke in his upcoming single release to have a new version for the Emperors Throne Room. I am not sure if that will still be the case. The Star Wars Black Series Heroes of Endor Exclusive Box Set was originally planned as a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive in 2020. With the Covid 19 pandemic the SDCC 2020 event, like all conventions, was cancelled and the exclusives from Hasbro were held back from July and then sold in September during Hasbro Pulse Con, Hasbro's online convention event. The set features four figures and a re-issued Speeder Bike, all wrapped up in an exclusive box with diorama panels. Our review of the Heroes of Endor Set will be broken down into four reviews - one for each figure included - as well as a look at the packaging and unboxing each element. Checkout the other Heroes of Endor figures : Paploo Luke Skywalker Princess Leia Packaging 4.0 The Heroes of Endor set is presented in rectangular black box with green Star Wars Black Series Logo on the front face, and beneath this - in a solid black stripe - is a confirmation of the film base as Return of the Jedi and then the name of the set as the HEROES OF ENDOR. It is impressive when you start to look closely at the box that there are images in the black of the box using different finishes with the trees of the Endor Forest Moon visible on one side and the Death Star looming above. This pattern continues down the right hand side panel, while the left is plain, except for some green shades towards the back. The back of the box see's a repeat of the Black Series logo and a green fading segment coming in from one side. The movie name is repeated again in the same black stripe that runs round the full box. Under this we have the various legal and safety messages. Our review copy is a UK/European release and we have an over sticker on the front to the side of the 4+ message blanking something out. On the back, the safety messages are also an over sticker ensuring the messages are region specific I assume. The only window initially visible on the box is the triangular cut out on the top through which you can see the top of Paploo's head and the Speeder Bike. Box Dimension : Closed Width 25cm / 9.75 inches Depth 36cm / 14 inches Height 21cm / 8.25 inches This outer packaging is a sleeve that is then lifted off to reveal the contents of the set beneath across three diorama windows. The sleeve itself is quite thin and will damage easily so needs to be handled with care. With the sleeve section removed, the box now presents with three windows - one front, and one either side. Each panel shows a diorama from The Return of the Jedi with the accompanying figure(s). Paploo is front and centre, named underneath the window as PAPLOO and under this, SPEEDER BIKE. The window backdrop features a speed blurred Endor Forest backdrop with Paploo sat in the centre hanging on to the Speeder Bike. To the right hand side is Luke in his Endor Poncho and Helmet brandishing his lightsaber between two tree trunks. Again, the character name sits bottom left under the window and is simply named as LUKE SKYWALKER. To the left we have Han Solo and Princess Leia at the door of the Imperial Bunker. Han is not wearing his Trench coat and Leia is without her helmet - screen accurate for the scene they are recreating. Han is posed with his blaster outstretched to one side, with Leia kneeling and aiming her blaster to the other side. Under the window we have the characters named again with HAN SOLO on the top line and PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA underneath. If you go all the way to the back of the box you find the three segments combining to make up the box reverse. The right hand panel, as we look, carries the Black Series logo. And the left panel has a piece of background text which is pretty extensive vs what we normally get on the Black Series boxes. "The Empire built the second Death Star in secret above the lush forest moon of Endor, located on the fringes of settled space in a far corner of the galaxy. To protect the station during construction, Imperial engineers placed a shield generator on the moon's surface. Scout Troopers patrolled the woods on Speeder Bikes, but the Empire dismissed Endor's native Ewoks as primitives that posed no threat. The Ewoks, however, were not to be underestimated. They were brave warriors and quick to learn new ways. They accepted the Rebel Alliance's warriors into their tribe and decided to join the fight against the Galactic Empire, using bows and arrows, catapults and log traps to take down Stormtroopers and Scout Walkers. The Ewoks turned the tide, allowing the Rebel commandos to destroy the shield generator and leave the Death Star vulnerable to orbital assault." The three triangular segments are designed with a hinge connecting the two side segments to the central piece. This allows the whole box to be opened up to display all three dioramas at once. The practicality of displaying this way is that it will take up quite a bit of shelf space both in terms of its width, and in the fact the shelf needs to be deep enough to accomodate the central Paploo section. There is a part opened option where the two side panels are swept back a little which reduces the overall width, but leaves all three diorama panels visible. Box Dimension : Open Full Width 96m / 36.75 inches Partial Open Width 78cm / 31 inches Depth 36cm / 14 inches Height 21cm / 8.25 inches There is further artwork on the reverse of these opened panels with green glow added to the Forest Moon and Death Start artwork. It is truly beautiful, and a waste almost considering its on the back of a box. Unboxing Han and Leia are packed and posed together in the left hand segment against a backdrop piece of the Imperial Bunker Door on Endor. The piece is wedge shaped and has a 3D effect with the side of the bunker an additional cardboard segment to the right of the piece. Removing it from the outer box is via the back wide panel which is taped in place by one circular tab. Cutting this will allow the flap to open and the piece to slide out. Han and Leia are posed in a clear tray that is then attached through the cardboard backing diorama and secured by tabs on the back. If you are trying to keep the packaging or the diorama then you will have to carefully cut the tape at the back and then slide out the tray from the four slots. You will also need to remove the baggie that is on the far right up against the wall of the diorama. This is taped into position and contains the safety notice slip, and more importantly Han's Trenchcoat and Leia's helmet. The backing cardboard wedge is a pretty nice design and feature for display, although it does have plain cardboard surround and the slits where the figures were attached are also quite visible. With some work I can see this being a nice backdrop to a shelf piece - its almost a perfect width for an Ikea Billy or Detolf. The tray piece, once separated from the box, is holding in Han and Leia by means of clear plastic ties. These are not easy to cut from behind as they dont wrap through fully. You will need to work round each figure and trim them carefully at the arms and legs. Paint & Sculpt 4.0 Han features a brand new head sculpt with a slightly older look than has come before, as is appropriate for the Return of the Jedi. The face has a very well done face print decor and the hair is a bit thicker than we've had before but also well painted. This is a very stern Han Solo and I do miss the Ford smirk that we have had on other Han figures. I feel the head may be a touch too big for the body and it can look oversized from some angles. This is quite ironic considering the big and little headed Han's in the Kenner Vintage line. The size gets less noticeable as you will see later when the Trenchcoat is added. The base outfit is the standard getup for Han with an off white shirt that is cast in the base colour on the top section and painted white on the lower stomach part. Frustratingly, my white shirt has a big flake of paint near the waist which has exposed the darker plastic underneath. A flexible vest also in the base colour. The vest is removable and therefore there is a half decent Jabba's Palace Han Solo underneath if you want to go that route. The trousers are brown with the Correllian blood stripe ribbon in yellow. The base plastic is the brown colour while the yellow blood stripe is applied on top. The boots finish off the outfit in gloss black. Han of course also has his gun belt, with working holster at the right hand side. This has the most paint apps of the ensemble with silver buckles and clips and darker brown on the compartments down the side. While there are similarities to the Bespin Han Solo, it is only the lower body that is reused. The upper chest piece has a different profile to the shirt collar and the head as you can see is much different - and a little bit larger too, which is more noticeable when displayed side by side. Accessories 3.5 Han includes his DL-44 modified blaster which is carried over from previous Han Solo releases. It is cast in black with a brown stock and silver muzzle. Considering its size, the detail in the sculpt is impressive. Thankfully there is no warping to that muzzle - which has been the case with this weapon in the past. It fits into the right hand of Han and there is a very long trigger finger which will need to be pulled back and then slotted into the trigger. When not in use, it fits into the holster. You achieve this by pulling up on the little strap which is secured by a plug on the main body of the holster. The blaster then slips in to the pre-formed slot and the strap can then be returned to a closed position. Like a lot of these straps on Black Series figures, getting it fixed back into position is not that easy. Han also comes with his Endor Trench Coat. This is folded into the baggie we saw taped to the packaging earlier. This does leave it a little creased and folded as you get it out, it may benefit from an iron at very low temperature with something else put over the top to protect it (do this at your own risk). The material is not as free flowing as the Poncho that comes with Luke, nor the Jedi robes we usually see in the soft good stable. This choice of material is likely driven by the need to print a pattern into the cloth to create that camouflage effect. The Trench Coat itself is too dark vs the on screen version and while the pattern is fine, it needed to be paler in colour with the brown dial back towards a more sandy colour. It is easy enough to get onto Han, with the two arms bending at the elbow first to then slide them into the sleeves. Once on, the first issue is the collar which sticks up quite a lot. I don't know why it was not stitched down like the hood on Luke's poncho. Like any soft goods, time will need to be taken to get the Coat to a position you are happy with. With no belt to keep it in check like the other figure ponchos, it can look baggy and oversized from some angles. I found it easiest to use the arms to keep it in check and to sweep the bottom of the coat back around the legs rather than letting it hang. Articulation 4.5 Han Solo has a total articulation count of 17 with the new neck piece in play with the joint at both the top and bottom of the neck. Head : ball joint neck base and head Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, single joint rotating knees, ankle rocker The movement on Han, without restriction from any armour or strapping, is complete and he is a pleasure to pose. The arms are fully mobile for firing off the blaster, or to gesture. The legs move fully, with the holster moving with the leg joint as needed. Han can sit and kneel as well as pose with wider action stances or even more dynamic poses with the right stand. The Trench Coat being soft goods does nothing to impede articulation, so he is as easy to pose in the coat as without it. Every joint is tight and secure and Han stands fine unaided in most two footed poses. Summary Han Solo was a figure that I was overjoyed with when I opened him, and then sort of went down a little the more I posed and played with him. The head sculpt is impressive and a different look to Bespin Han although the head is a touch too large. The body is screen accurate to the Endor scenes and there is even the ability to convert it to a version of Jabba's Palace Han by removing his vest. The Trench Coat, the main element of an Endor Han Solo, is not what I was hoping for, especially considering the premium nature of this set. While patterns are good, the colour is off and the fit is clunky. The collar needed to have been stitched in place to keep it positioned neatly around the neck and to stop it pinging back up when you move the figure around. Han Solo Endor is a great figure, and there are loads of positives to drive a good score. There are just a few elements that aren't quite executed well enough for top marks and as a final score considering all the elements I give him 4.0 overall. Paint & Sculpt 4.5 We will start with the base figure for Leia, the Rebel uniform we see in the briefing before they head to Endor. The head sculpt is a fantastic likeness for Leia in Return of the Jedi and the sculpt is enhanced by the application of the face print technology. The hair piece is braided with two braids and then swept round at the back. There is sadly an area at the back of this hair piece towards the rear of the head that shows as flesh coloured. The uniform and body are well executed with the rebel rank insignia badge on the right of the tunic. The blue trousers are trimmed in a yellow stripe and the boots a gloss black with painted tan heel. The belt, as we will see, is an individual piece cast in black plastic and with a working holster. Accessories 4.0 Leia arrives with her Poncho in place, posed in the box with Han at the Imperial Bunker doorway. The belt holds the soft goods poncho in place, and the clasp on the belt is cleverly hidden behind the pouch at the front. The Poncho is a soft patterned piece with a hole for the head and a hood piece behind this. The hood, like the one on Luke, is stitched in place so it cannot be used but is kept in place. The head hole is trimmed in a folded collar. The belt wraps around Leia's waist at the back and then you slot the ends of the belt through two slots on the front of the poncho to hold it in place. This does leave a lot of loose free flowing fabric at the back and sides. The flow of the poncho is perhaps not as fluid as some of the Jedi robes we've seen and it might have been nice to allow the belt to tie up the back piece too and maybe some additional stitching at the sides to keep the arms a bit more in check. The collar feels too big too and I can not get it to sit naturally around the neck Leia is armed with a long barrelled blaster, the same model as used in the A New Hope Leia. It is cast in black plastic and has a tiny silver element added to the very end of the barrel. It fits into the right hand of Leia where there is a trigger finger for a full grip. When not in use it goes into the holster on Leia's belt. The final piece, and giving Leia a third distinctive look, is her Rebel helmet. This is cast in a tan rubber with green and brown painted panels - some silver scratching and damage and a red and yellow circular motif. While it looks the same as the one that comes with Luke, it is a touch smaller to fit Leia's head. There is a chin strap that holds the helmet in place. This is a soft rubber and fastens on the right hand side of the helmet by way of a plug and socket. Getting this into place when the helmet is on the head is tough. The shape and fitting for the head is snug and perhaps over time it is tight enough to give some rub to the hair piece. Once worn it looks the part and is not oversized as is often the case with these type of hats & helmets. Articulation 4.5 Leia has 17 points of articulation, including the newer neck format with joints top and bottom and therefore no ugly pivot visible on the front of the neck. Head : ball joint neck with pivot Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, single joint rotating knees, ankle rocker All the joints work as they should with a good level of bend available on the elbows and full motion on the shoulders. The legs too are fully mobile, although it seems one leg may be a touch longer than the other and I had to bend Leia's left knee to get her to stand straight. Leia will kneel and sit, and the joints are secure enough to keep her in place once posed. The joints do not however feel as robust as some figures and there is less secure ratcheting around the ankles - looseness may therefore creep in over time. The Poncho, being soft good and with no real tailoring around the arms, has no impact on the articulation. Like Luke, one of the questions for the Endor Leia is if she can be posed to ride the Speeder Bike that is included in the set. The answer is yes, and very well. Unlike Luke, the Leia has been cast with the holes in the right place on her feet to line up with the pegs on the Speeders foot plates. The hands hold the steering veins and then the body articulation - including that waist joint - line up to sit Leia in the seat. Her head even angles up enough to be looking where she is going. She looks the part too riding the Speeder, and I was chuffed to find that the Speeder also allowed the Luke to sit behind Leia for that part of the Speeder Bike chase to be recreated. The only issue for many of us now will actually be a shortage of Speeders - and I would love to see Hasbro release the Speeder in a single box like the recent exclusive Wampa. Summary Leia is a wonderful looking figure with three distinct looks in the box for three parts of the Return of the Jedi story. The rebel uniform is great. The poncho works to a point but needs work to secure the excess fabric. Articulation is fantastic and the figure has been designed to ride the Speeder Bike included in the set. Leia may be the best of the Heroes of Endor Set, or at least joint first with Paploo. Hasbro held a HasLab Fan First Friday with a full focus on the current Star Wars Vintage Collection project from The Mandalorian, The Razor Crest. Hasbro have announced a brand new Marvel Legends MCU boxset coming exclusively to Amazon called The Children of Thanos. The set brings together the existing figures to Thanos, Cull Obsidian, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive. While Maw and Glaive look to be repacks with some minor paint changes, Proxima will get a more extensive and accurate paint job as well as a new sword accessory. Thanos is the existing Infinity War body that was initially released as a BAF. The colour scheme on this version is more like the First Ten Years version and to add value this set will include his scarred head and withered arm having used the power of the Infinity Stones. The biggest change is for Cull Obsidian. He is now much more screen accurate vs the original BAF that was based on concept art. The box is a large window box design and carries the Infinity War logo. The set will be released on the 15th of December and it is exclusive to Amazon. The release is a global one, meaning most Amazon territories will stock the item. Storm Collectibles have announced a new licencing agreement with Tatsunoko Productions for a new 6 inch scale Gatchaman line Gatchaman is a Japanese animation from the 1970's and is perhaps better known as Battle of the Planets in the US and UK. The Tamashii Nations Movie Realization line has been quiet for a few months, but today it has announced a brand new figure in the shape of The Mandalorian. The Movie Realization concept is to take Star Wars movie characters, and to reimagine them into a Feudal Japan setting with characters taking on the aesthetics of the Samurai Warriors of the era. The Mandalorian, like Boba Fett before him, will be converted to a Ronin Samurai concept with the darker brown armour from the first few episodes of Season 1. I'd therefore put money on a Beskar version in due course. He is armed with his disintegrator rifle, blaster and a Samurai Sword. The cape will be soft goods. Pre-orders are now open and the figure will ship in March 2021. The Mandalorian arrives in the Meisho Movie Realization series in the first armor seen in the Star Wars™ series The Mandalorian™. Styled by Takayuki Takeya and inspired by the motif of a ronin (masterless samurai), this figure includes the first ever cloth cape in the Meisho series. He also includes his characteristic rifle and blaster accessories, as well as a katana sword. Super7 have revealed the next four figures in their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 7 inch Ultimates line. Wave 4 will be made up of Donatello, Mondo Gecko, Casey Jones and a double pack of sorts with Muckman and Joe Eyeball. Donatello wil come with two bo-staff, alternative head, alternative hands, two versions of the turtle communicator and of course... a slice of pizza. Mondo Gecko also includes an alternative head as well as three sets of hands and his skateboard. Casey Jones includes hockey stick, golf club and three baseball bat weapons. He comes with a golf bag to keep all his weapons in. Muckman comes with an alternative pair of hands and a blaster cannon. Joe Eyeball then sits in the supplied trashcan, which in turn can be mounted on Muckman's back. All the figures also include a retro inspired sprue of coloured plastic accessories.
