The NECA teases continue this week with this image of what looks to be a Back to the Future 2 Doc Brown

Wave 3 of the Star Wars Black Series Galaxy Collection was made up of four figures, with three of them part of The Mandalorian collection in the shape of Greef Karga, Kuill and Moff Gideon as seen in Season 1. The wave also included the first figure from The Rise of Skywalker, the Dark Side Vision Rey. In the US the wave began to turn up at the end of 2020, while UK supplies were delayed until February due to Covid 19 and Brexit delays. Moff Gideon is packed in the angled sided Galaxy Collection box under the burnt umber colour accent used for the Mandalorian figures. The front bar confirms the source material as the Disney+ show with the character name underneath. The side art illustrates Gideon with his arms folded and behind him in the backdrop of the image is banking Tie Fighter. The same image is repeated on the back of the box with a short piece of background text which is a very loose description of Gideon and doesn't really give any information on his role in The Mandalorian. " Imperial Moff Gideon is fiercely determined to capture a specific quarry. Clever and formidable, Gideon values power and knowledge" Gideon is number 08 in the Mandalorian Galaxy Collection following on from Kuill, and leading into the Exclusive Remnant Stormtrooper figure which was actually released before Gideon. 4.0 I had read some early criticism of the Moff Gideon head sculpt, but in hand I find it an excellent likeness to Giancarlo Esposito and in particular that disapproving look where he appears to be looking down his nose in disappointment at you. The face print application enhances the sculpt further, accurately picking out the distinctive lines and features of Gideon's face and giving him those piercing - almost bulging - eyes. The body is all new from what I can see, there is no re-use of former Imperial officer figures in recreating the black officers uniform with red pins striping around the belt and down the arms and legs. Over this is the chest armour - similar to General Veers, but smaller and with a different configuration on the front panel. The chest includes some further red trim on the top shoulder clips and red, grey and white on the front controls. This is an individual piece and not part of the torso sculpt. The legs are sculpted with the usual Imperial era width in the thighs that then taper down to be tucked into the knee high gloss black boots. The belt and then the small skirt piece is a separate soft plastic piece that moves with the leg joints. A small holster hangs down from the belt on the right hand side. The Cape is an individual piece that plugs into the back of Moff Gideon via a single socket on the reverse of the figure. This is a similar system to the one Hasbro use quite often on Marvel Legends caped figures and it allows the plastic cape to be secured in the right place and hang as it should. Some were perhaps wanting a soft goods robe, which would have allowed more dynamic poses - particularly if a posing wire could be included - but would not have captured the folds and ripples of the cape. The cape itself is a softer plastic cast in black with the red lining painted on top. It is shaped to fit the figure well and the plug is a secure enough fit for display while also not intrusive enough to be noticeable if you choose to display Gideon without his cape. 4.5 Moff Gideon is armed with a small hold out blaster that is cast in black plastic with a slim barrel with sights over the top. While it looks similar to the blaster included with Imperial Officers Piett and Veers it is a varying design. It has no paint application and would have benefitted with some paint apps to either drybrush parts in silver or to add some component painted parts as we saw with the weapons on both Greef Karga and Kuill in the same wave. The blaster fits perfectly into Gideon's right hand where the trigger finger engages into place. When not in use it can be slid snugly into the holster on the belt. The big inclusion with Moff Gideon is the Darksaber, the first time this iconic weapon has appeared in Black Series 6 inch scale. The hilt is angular and crisp with the relevant shaping and patterns on the grip, The blade was always going to make or break this weapon, unlike a lightsaber it had to show a dark black blade but with a bright white edge. Hasbro have tried to achieve this by making the blade out of clear plastic and then painting the central piece black. This leaves the outside edge clear and when lit or put against a darker background, or against Gideon's own black armour, does work. It is less impressive against a light backdrop - although had they painted the edge white would have made the blade look too solid. It is not immediately obvious but the blade is removable from the hilt by way of a plug in section at the end of the blade. The fit is very tight and if you do want to remove the blade it should be done carefully, easing the base of the blade out slowly. 4.0 Moff Gideon has the newer 19 points of articulation which are inclusive of the dual neck joint and the butterfly shoulders. While these new joints are present, their movement is less extensive than others I have seen. The lower neck peg is sat down under a raised collar so movement is limited and the butterfly joints are held back a little by the shoulder armour, Head : ball joint neck at base and head Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single joint rotating knee, ankle rockers The shoulder armour initially looks like it will also pose an issue to the arms being raised out from the side, but thankfully this has been addressed by including a degree of flexibility in this armour and shaping it so it rises up and over the shoulder as the arm is raised. The legs are fully mobile and action stances are supported by a good level of movement in the waist. The cape can only be worn up to a point with these more dynamic poses but there is enough movement to allow the wielding of the Darksaber or the firing of the blaster with the cape in situ and without anything looking odd or out of place. Every joint on Gideon is secure and tight and moves as designed. There are no stability issues when he is posed. 4.5 I had Kuill earmarked as my favourite figure from this wave, but I think Moff Gideon is on par if not ahead when you factor in Gideon's articulation and the Darksaber accessory. The Moff has a great likeness in hand - its one of those heads that photos cant quite do enough justice for. His Imperial Uniform is crisp and sleek with the pin stripe red and the added armour. The cape will divide opinion as to whether it should have been soft goods. As it stands, I am happy with what we got. The Darksaber execution is quite clever when you see it lit and on display, although I appreciate like the cape there will be other opinions out there about how it should have been executed. There is also plenty of articulation for Moff to be posed with the Darksaber so he can face down Mando as seen in that Season 2 finale. All in all, Moff Gideon is just a couple of elements away from ticking all the boxes for me. His neck and butterfly joints are quite as extensive as others and the blaster would have benefitted some additional paint. The weapon has of course been held by a number of characters - some of which already exist in the Black Series format. Depending on who you deem worthy, the Darksaber can be used with other figures. The Mandalorian is the obvious candidate after the events of Season 2 and the Darksaber accessory fits perfectly in either hand as well as two handed poses been achievable with the arm articulation on Mando. Sabine Wren from Rebels is another candidate. Her hand positions make the grip with her right hand a little loose for the hilt of the Darksaber, but it will balance in place. The left hand grip is more secure and like Mando, two handed poses can be achieved. We are delighted to begin working with Iron Studios to bring you news and press release for their 1/10 scale movie statues and dioramas. From the original Jurassic Park movie comes the iconic "Clever Girl" scene as Robert Muldoon is stalked and ambushed by the Velociraptors. This new Iron Studios captures the moment of the ambush. The dynamic piece is down as a Quarter 3 release for 2021. Robert Muldoon is the great hunter, played by Bob Peck in the film "Jurassic Park", where he is responsible for the security of the complex on Nublar Island. From the beginning, Muldoon expressed great concern regarding the Velociraptors, especially after one of his workers was killed by one of the animals during the transfer of cages. Although John Hammond finds him a little alarmist, Muldoon knows the Velociraptors better than anyone, and promptly describes to Dr. Alan Grant the intelligent and cruel behavior of these creatures. During the incident in the assessment of the park on Nublar Island, without electricity, which caused the electric fences that contained the animals to stop working. Muldoon and Dr. Ellie Sattler rescue an injured Ian Malcolm after a T-Rex attack. Then, gathered in the control room, they decide to turn off the main switch in the energy deposit, to restart all systems, and try to regain control of the park. When Muldoon and Ellie seek to perform such a task, the hunter soon realizes that he has become the hunt, and orders Ellie to run to the warehouse while he stands to protect her. When he finds one of the raptors, determined to eliminate them all, he fixes his sights on the animal when suddenly another one emerges from the bushes beside him. Shocked and horrified, but also impressed by this element of surprise, the great hunter Muldoon's last words are "Clever girl ..." seconds before the ferocious female Velociraptor leaps on him. On top of a concrete totem pole, decorated with sculptures of medieval buffoons around him, which are symbols of the playing card that inspired his name, Gotham's most fearsome villain poses on that base wearing his formal purple outfit and bringing in one of his hands his presentation card in the form of playing cards that say his name. The side art illustrates Kuill with his arms folded and behind him in the backdrop of the image is an image of both Mando and Kuill atop their Blurrgs with Grogu in his pram to one side. The same illustration is used on the back of the box with a short piece of text that reads "A vapor famer on Arvala-7, Kuill came to seek peace in an out-of-the-way world, which is now being trespassed upon by criminals and mercenaries. He has worked a lifetime to be free of servitude, and offers valuable skills for those willing to meet his place." Kuill is number 07 in the Mandalorian Galaxy Collection following on from Greek Karga, and leading into Moff Gideon who are both from the same wave as Kuill. 4.0 Straight out of the box it is clear that Kuill is a really strong sculpt and a very good likeness to the prosthetics seen in the show. The head of the Ugnaught incudes the projected jaw and upturned nose, framed with the facial hair that Kuill sorts. All of this is enhanced further with the face print tech, with the eyes in particular so expressive from behind the pronounced brow. Kuill stands a head or so shorter than a standard Black Series figure and comes up just short of Mando's shoulder. While this may seem a little tall to the Ugnaughts we remember from the Kenner line, it is about right to the scale seen on the show. Kuill's outfit is made up of a brown tunic with olive green arms, darker brown gloves and with brown trousers and boots. Each piece is cast in their base colour and includes the appropriate texture as well as folds/creases and fastenings as appropriate. The belt includes a large ornate silver buckle, with pouches either side. There is then a scarf/wrap section that is separate to the figure and that sits round the neck and includes an attached backpack. The head keeps the scarf in place on the shoulders and would need to be popped of to take the scarf /backpack off the figure. I wasn't brave enough to pop Kuill's head, but doing so would provide an alternative look for the figure. Like a lot of current Black Series figures, Kuill is well coloured with neat painted detail like the belt buckle, but lacks that worn in look we expect from the character and is crying out for a wash or some weathering to recreate his lifestyle on the desert like planet. The flight helmet and goggles is cast as a separate part to the head and in a soft brown plastic with painted black goggles with silver rims. The piece is removable, which did surprise me when I unpacked Kuill, and there is a full head sculpt underneath complete with pointed ears and recessed hair hairline round the back. It gives Kuill a variant look and also potential opens up options for future Ugnaught characters with retooled features or helmets/goggles. 4.5 Kuill is armed with the projectile rifle he uses in Season 1 to fire the electro stun darts. This is a new piece in the Black Series and is cast in black plastic with limited detail in the sculpt. There is a flexible rubber strap that can actually be unhooked from the rear stock. Like the Jawa rifles, the fit in to Kuill's hand is more to allow the weapon to be held in a neutral position and not in any form of firing pose. When not in use it can be slung using the strap and this works best over the left shoulder due to the shape of the tunic. It will work on the right but gets pushed out by the shoulder. We looked at the helmet earlier, and this is really well shaped to fit around the sculpting of Kuill's head, so much so that once engaged it is not initially obvious that it does come off. This level of fit is achieved by the smooth bald head of Kuill, but also the recessing of the ear compartments to fit over the ears sculpted beneath. It perhaps would have been great to have the goggles on the helmet something that could be employed over Kuill's eyes as an alternative look - perhaps coupled with the inclusion of some tools to reflect his engineers background. 4.0 While Kuill is a shorter figure, he does retain a fairly standard set of 16 points of articulation. He is missing newer joints like the two part neck and butterfly shoulders, but everything else is executed as you'd see on a full 6 inch figure. Head : ball joint neck Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single joint rotating knee, ankle rockers With smaller arms & legs there are restrictions with these joints, mainly the elbows which are shaped so its not quite possible to get a right angle bend. The other issue is at the waist where the joint on my figure removes to move more than a few mm's before springing back. It is not something I want to force in case the inner joint breaks. All the joints are fine and secure, with the neck feeling a little loose but the head is kept in check by the scarf. Kuill stands fine with the ankle rockers tight and supportive of his weight and posing. I would doubt that as it stands this articulation is enough to ride a Blurrg, if one were to get released. 3.5 Kuill is a fantastic looking figure with a wonderful head sculpt that is enhanced even further by the face print tech. The costume is a good match to the onscreen look and is perhaps a wash or weathering application away from perfection. The removable head gear was a welcome surprise and is very well engineered to fit over the head and ears without looking oversized or sitting too high on the head. The gun accessory works in some poses, but I'd have rather seen the goggles be useable on the headgear and Kuill come with some tools or similar that would fit more with his character. I'd also have liked an easier option to remove the scarf and backpack than the requirement to pop off the head. The only other issue with Kuill I guess is the fact he comes as a single release, and not perhaps as we might have hoped as a Deluxe or Vehicle release along with a Blurrg mount. The articulation on the figure will need work if that sort of release is planned in the future with elbows, hips and the stuck waist needing some tweaks. Friday the 12th of February was the date of the first Power Rangers Fan Friday livestream from Hasbro for 2021 and included some details from their partnership with Super7 on the ReAction line - although nothing was discussed or shown for the planned Ultimates. The reveals in the Hasbro 6 inch Lighting Collection was the Summer 2021 wave 9 line up. We start with the In Space Black Ranger who includes masked and unmasked head and alternative hands, along with his Lunar Lance and Astro Blaster. The S.P.D. Green Ranger also features masked and unmasked head options and alternative hands and he is packed with the Delta Morpher accessory, multiple modes of the Deltamax Striker accessories and a blast effect piece. We then move to Lost Galaxy with the Blue Ranger who features the alterative head and hand options and is armed with the Quasar Saber, Quasar Dagger and Cosma Claw. He also features a blast FX piece. The fourth figure harks back to the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and is the Tenga Warrior. He comes with a Tenga egg accessory and blast effect piece. There will also be a second pair of wings in the pack for alternative display and play options. Hot on the heels of the Frankenstein's Monster reveal, NECA have moved to tease the next figure in their new Universal Monsters line. It looks like The Mummy is next with this teaser image being shared by NECA on their social channels. The figure looks to be the Boris Karloff Mummy from the 1932 movie and unlike Frankenstein's Monster, there looks to be a colour to this figure rather than a black and white execution. If this follows the same timescale as Frankenstein's Monster, then we should move from this teaser to a wider reveal in the next couple of weeks. Wave 3 of the Star Wars Black Series Galaxy Collection was made up of four figures, with three of them part of The Mandalorian collection in the shape of Greef Karga, Kuill and Moff Gideon as seen in Season 1. The wave also included the first figure from The Rise of Skywalker, the Dark Side Vision Rey. In the US the wave began to turn up at the end of 2020, while UK supplies were delayed until February due to Covid 19 and Brexit delays. Greef Karga arrives in the angled sided Galaxy Collection box under the burnt umber colour accent used for the Mandalorian figures. The front bar confirms the source material as the Disney+ show with the character name underneath. The side art features Greef in his Season 1 outfit and in the backdrop of the image are the Mandalorians flying overhead with Jetpacks as per the final scenes of Episode 3, The Sin. The same illustration is used on the back of the box with a short piece of text that reads "As an agent of the Bounty Hunters Guild, Greef Karga secures bounty hunters in pursuit of valuable and rare quarries in the galaxy" Greef is number 06 in the Mandalorian Galaxy Collection following on from the Deluxe release of Din Djarin and the Child, and leading into Kuill who is from the same wave as Karga. 4.0 The likeness to actor Carl Weathers is not instantly impressive as is the case with some face printed heads in both the Black Series and other Hasbro properties. Looking closer the sculpt is not the culprit here, but rather an overly glossy and overly harsh face print application which doesn't bring out the moustache all that clearly and has a funny look around the eyes as though they were bruised and puffy? The costume is an odd one, with the half cloak, but it is reflective of the look in the episode. Each element is cast in the base colour with dark brown for the tunic, light brown for the sleeves and a mid brown for the cloak which itself is an individual piece in a softer plastic. The cloak is held by a single strap that goes under the left arm with a painted clasp. It is not designed to be unclipped so the cloak can be removed. If you wanted the cloak off you'd have to squeeze it up and over the left arm/elbow which may put strain on the slim strap - its not something I wanted to try. If the cloak is removed the body is fully sculpted and painted underneath. The legs are textured and painted in the same way as the tunic and are separated at the waist by a belt with painted gold clasp. The boots are one tone with straps that could have been painted to add some variation - but that have been left in the base plastic colour. Like many Black Series figures, Greef Karga feels like a wash/weathering application away from being a much more impressive figure. 3.5 Greef is packed with a pair of blaster pistols which are a new piece into the Black Series line. They are cast in black with some detailing down the barrel and to the grip which is painted in a metallic bronze colour. Greef has trigger fingers on both left and right hand so can wield blasters in both. When not in use he is also equipped with two working holsters on his belt. The right hand side is obscured by the cloak, but there is enough movement in the softer cloak plastic to push it out of the way gunslinger style ready for the draw. Considering the previous release of Din Djarin has added Beskar ingots and tracking fobs into the line, these would have would have been a nice touch to include with Greef also. 3.5 Greek Karga is inclusive of all the new articulation joints in the Black Series and weighs in with an impressive 19 points of articulation including the new two part neck joint and the butterfly shoulders. Head : ball joint neck base and head connection Body : ball joint waist Arms : ball joint shoulder, single joint rotating elbow, wrist pivot Legs : ball joint hips, thigh swivel, single joint rotating knee, ankle pivot Every joint does its job although the butterfly joints are held a little in check by the outfit and cloak. They do allow the gunslinger poses with the holsters and blasters that I think works really well with the figure. The cloak does prevent kneeling or sitting poses, although without it they would be achievable with the movement built into the legs. Every joint is tight and secure and Greef stands perfectly well without any support. 4.0 Greef Karga is one of the few figures recently that have not nailed the likeness by way of the Face Print tech. The application is too shiny and has issues with the eyes and moustache that does throw off a very good sculpt. The costume is well done and coloured well, but to match the lived in Star Wars Universe and what we see on Nevarro a weathering application would have been an excellent final touch. Articulation is great, and there is nothing wrong with the accessory choices - although I always do think about what else could have been included and a tracking fob and/or Beskar ingot would have fit really well with the Season 1 appearances of Karga. Walmart's website in the US has listed placeholders for the first three NECA 7 inch Defenders of the Earth action figures. The next wave of Jazwares Fortnite Legendary Series 6 inch figures will feature figures of Midas, Dark Voyager and Recruit (Jonesy). And it is this latter figure that has been listed first on Amazon in the US with a full gallery of images. The Recruit will come packed with three interchangeable face options. He has a standard harvesting tool and is armed with a tactical shotgun and a supressed assault rifle. He also comes with a proximity mine accessory and a skateboard. The figure has no due date, but to follow usual form if it is up on Amazon with promo images it will likely drop in the very near future. Best bet for UK stocks would be Smyths Toys. Diamond Select Toys are revisiting their Muppets line of figures with a new series of "Best of" releases. The Muppet figures from Diamond are made to a 7 inch scale, with each Muppet standing between 3 to 5 inches high to scale into this 1:10 format. Appropriate accessories and props are included with each figure. Series 1 will be released later this month (February 2021) and features two pack of Kermit & Miss Piggy, Gonzo & Fozzie and Scooter & Rowlf.
