As the new Marvel Disney+ show, Falcon & The Winter Soldier, launched around the world the first figures from the series were confirmed by Tamashii Nations in their SH Figuarts 6 inch line. Before you go any further in the article, please note the images "may" contain spoilers Both Falcon and Winter Soldier will be released as Bandai Webstore Exclusives, arriving in August 2021. Falcon includes a full set of flight wings with a 12.5 inch span. There will also be swap out head options, hands and a detachable Redwing (assuming he has not renamed the drone) that can sit on his backpack. Both Falcon and the drone can be displayed on the included dynamic display stand/ The Winter Soldier includes, interestingly, Captain America's shield. It was not inconceivable that Bucky would use the Shield in the show, but it is interesting that the Shield is not included with Sam - although that may be as simple as Tamashii evening out the contents. Kaiyodo have announced a black-suited exclusive variant of their Amazing Yamaguchi #23 Iron-Spider Revoltech figure. This repaint includes a slick black suit with gold highlights and gold mechanical arms, which themselves are removable. The set also includes swap-out hands and web effects pieces. NECA have shared new images of their Friday the 13th Part VII Jason Voorhees. The figure was revealed last Summer, but there have been no further news on the release until these images were circulated. The new images indicate that the alternative head has been tweaked since the first reveal back in July 2020 with a split mask option and a skull head beneath. The NECA team are on a roll presently adding new horror licenses to their action figure line including Universal Monsters and Puppet Master. The announcement however on the 17th of March was perhaps the biggest to date. Celebrating Kurt Russel's birthday, NECA shared the following montage announcing that they will be releasing an Ultimate MacCready figure from The Thing. The image has some small print that confirms the set includes three heads, hat, goggles, bottle and glasses, shotgun, lantern and more. The figure will be a Summer 2021 release. Pre-orders are now open for the Mezco One:12 Collective Destro G.I. Joe figure. Destro will feature the usual extensive articulation and soft goods tailored clothing of the One:12 Collective line and will also come with three head options and multiple hands. Destro is, as you'd expect, well-armed - starting with a rifle with removable cartridges. There is also a missile launcher that attaches to his hand, a pistol with magazines and two holster options. There is then a briefcase with a light-up facility in which is kept further accessories including a multi-part gun that assembles into various configurations from a handgun to a rifle with a scope. After last week's reveals for the McFarlane DC Justice League figures, we are now seeing more clarity on the line with a video hosted by Todd to show off the figures, and now some of the other figure exclusives being listed. The Superman, in the blue and red suit, will be a Target (US) exclusive. It utilises the same head and body of the mainline black suit Superman and also comes with the flight stand. Even the collectors card is the same, with a black and white finish added to the black suit card. The next Warhammer 40k figure from Bandai has been unveiled via the Warhammer Community Page. Following on from Primaris Intercessor Space Marine releases for the Ultramarines, Salamanders and Imperial Fists comes another Battle-Brother, this time from the White Scars. The White Scar Marine is depicted in the colours and iconography of The Eagle Brotherhood and looks to be armed with a bolter and knife. Like all the Bandai WH40k figures to date, the White Scar Marine is made to order. The order window will open for one week globally on the 27th of March and once that period closes, the figures will go into production for shipping some time in (estimated) late 2021 or early 2022. Fans of the NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon figure line have a new army builder to look forward to later this year with the announcement of the 'Trouble's Afoot' Ultimate Foot Soldier. The set utilises the existing Foot Soldier sculpt, and includes three head options as well as an officers cap to create a variation for your Foot Soldier squads, and a communicator. There is also a whole armoury of weapon options included from throwing stars, a spear, swords and ray guns. The set will be exclusive to Target in the US, and hopefully available as a non-exclusive to independent retailers here in the UK and elsewhere around the globe. The Armorer, as seen in Season 1 of The Mandalorian, was released as a Star Wars Black Series figure in 2020. She first appeared in a Convention Exclusive release with soft goods cloak and additional accessories, the same figure was then released in the 2nd wave of the Phase 4 Galaxy Collection in the Autumn of 2020. The Galaxy Collection categorises figures by source movie or TV, and The Armorer is part of the Mandalorian series with the burnt umber accent colour. She is #4 in the Mandalorian line with the side art panel on each release lining up to create a wider montage - as seen on our Galaxy Collection page. The Armorer sits between the Incinerator Trooper from the same wave, and the Deluxe Din Djarin & Child set. "The Armorer plays a vital role in keeping the culture of the Mandalorians alive. She forges beskar armor in the ancient tradition on her people" The Armorer, when seen on the show, was shown in a dimly lit underground area and therefore the figures initial colouring of the figure may appear a touch too bright. The figure recreates the ornate helmet really well in a bright gold colour with black visor and gunmetal horns. The body suit is grey with brown trim and thick padded brown gloves and a skirt section added in a rubbery plastic. The upper armour piece across the chest is a bronze metallic and paint detail is then added around the figure with a gold control panel on the belt and trim down the trousers and around the arms. The skirt section is washed to give it some weathering and ideally that would have been great across the rest of the figure to give it the worn look. This standard release of the Armorer presents the short cloak section as a plastic sculpted piece as opposed to the soft goods used on the Exclusive version. The piece is much better looking in terms of the detail of the fur and the colouring which includes a deep wash to enhance the texture. It is not the best fit onto the figure relying on three short tabs that insert into sections on the back of the figure. The cloak does have a habit of dropping off if not engaged fully and it can also be dislodged if the arms are moved upward. The accessories for the standard release are versions of the Armorers Hammer and Tongs, both cast in a silver plastic and around two inches long. They are detailed enough for what they are and fit easily in either hand for posing. While the tongs do look like they could be articulated at the pivot, they aren't and trying to open the pincers will just bend the arms. The Armorer has an articulation count of 19, and includes the new neck joint and butterfly joints at the shoulder. The elbows and knees are single jointed, but there is plenty of movement for the various blacksmith poses you may want to put her in - or indeed clobbering Stormtroopers with the hammer and tongs. All the joints are secure and tight, the Armorer also stands well in both a neutral pose, but also in more dynamic stances. The Armorer is a fantastic addition to the Star Wars Black Series and the Mandalorian collection of figures. The basic version here, in my opinion, has the better looking cloak but of course the fact it is plastic does mean it looses the flexibility and flow of the soft goods. The Exclusive version does come with better accessories, notably the addition of the larger tongs and hammer and the Mandalorian helmet being cast. The next Hasbro Ghostbusters releases will be in their Kenner Classics line and will follow up on the original wave with two iconic Kenner ghosts and a replica of the classic Kenner ECTO-1 vehicle. ECTO-1 will feature an opening rear door, the roof mounted seat and a ghost claw that can extend to capture the ghost included in the set. The Ghost assortment will bring back Bug-Eye and Fearsome Flush as first released in the Kenner line back in the 1980's. Bug-Eye features an eye that can be popped out on a string when you squeeze the body. Fearsome Flush will feature a rolling action that reveals the ghost within the toilet as it moves. Mark the 9th of April in your calendars as Hasbro will be hosting the Hasbro Pulse Fan Fest, a virtural collectors event utilising the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel and Hasbro Pulse sites in the UK and the US. The event starts on the 8th April at 9pm (UK) where Premium Members can look forward to "something special". UK collectors can choose to sign up to a Premium Membership for just £20 (half price) between now and the 31st of March 2021. The main event starts on the 9th at 4pm (UK) where Premium Members will also be able to pre-order some items before everyone else (Star Wars excluded).
