Another McFarlane DC Multiverse figure from the Justice League movie has been confirmed. The early images and leaks for the Justice League figures showed two different head options for Cyborg, and the second version with helmet has been confirmed as a Walmart US exclusive. Cyborg will come with an alternative left-hand option, allowing the hand to convert to the energy weapon. Like the other Justice League figures, the Cyborg exclusive has a release date of May the 30th. Part man, part machine, Victor Stone is a former star athlete at Gotham City University. After a horrific car accident nearly cost him his life, he was saved when his father, scientist Silas Stone, used an Apokoliptian Mother Box to reconstruct his body. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Lucasfilm, Hasbro have released a number of 6 inch Star Wars Black Series figures in 2022 not only on Vintage Cardbacks, but also repainted to match their 1978 Vintage release from Kenner. This practice is not new, and has been done already for figures like Boba Fett, 4-LOM and Zuckuss. This new wave, exclusive to Amazon, goes further than the previous releases which still retained a level of real world paint decor, and repaints the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Greedo and a Jawa in their original Kenner colours. Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives in an outer cardboard sleeve. This is a welcome addition as previous Amazon exclusives have suffered from damage in transit. The box does go someway to protect the card, but is itself slightly too small which means your card still arrives with a noticeable bend. The card itself is a recreation of the original 1978 Card with Alec Guiness posed with a yellow lightsaber. The only additions for this modern interpretation is the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversay logo and a Couple of safety icons. The Kenner logo is retained over that of Hasbro or Disney. The cardback is less impressive than previous Vintage Carded Black Series figures, foregoing the iconic colour block checklist and instead of inserting an image of Obi-Wan battling Darth Vader on the Death Star from A New Hope. The Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary theme then takes over and the timeline, as seen on the Archive figures, plots the figures place in the 50 years of Lucasfilm and has the wording:- "Commemorate the first 50 years of Lucasfilm with figures inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy" The figure has to be ripped off the card, 70's style, and is set into a small inner tray behind the blister with the lightsaber to one side. The figure is simply the original 2016 Obi-Wan Kenobi figure cast now predominantly in the orange plastic we associate with the original 1978 figure. The soft-goods robes have been removed, and a vinyl cape accessory added that slots over the arms and wraps the body with a fold-down collar - exactly as the Kenner versions used to work. What is odd about the release, and the reason I and many others will buy it is that while the body is a Kenner homage, the head is given the modern face print tech treatment. This makes the likeness much improved on the original Obi-Wan Kenobi figure. The two heads are interchangeable and therefore the new photo-real head will go on the film accurate body to create a much improved Obi-Wan Kenobi for your display. In a way then the old head does look marginally more in keeping with the Kenner decor. Obi-Wan includes his lightsaber accessory. While it may not now slide out of his right arm, it has been left unpainted as a further nod to Kenner accessories. The blue translucent blade is straight and true and can be clipped in and out of the saber hilt as needed. When not in use the saber hilt hangs on the hook on Obi-Wan's belt. The cape can be removed and if you go down this route, you are left with a fully sculpted and painted figure underneath. Putting aside the nostalgia element for a moment, this look without the cape is not too bad and gives another option for display. Obi-Wan's articulation, a total of 16 points, remains as was vs the old figure. The arms are single jointed at the elbows and can just about get to a double saber grip but lack the cut to the elbow to extend the movement for wider arm posing. The legs are essentially locked in by the skirt but do include a full suite of joints including double joint knees. Obi-Wan's joints are all tight and secure and he stands perfectly in a number of posing options. The whole principle of this Amazon Exclusive line is one of nostalgia, but that is very confused when you consider the use of face print tech that makes this a better likeness to the original release. What you end up with is a Kenner inspired body and a head that would fit into the range today. It may have been easier to release this figure in its normal colour scheme but with updated faceprint decor simply as an Anniversary figure on a Vintage card, or as an Archive collection. This is certainly a figure that will divide opinion, and as a side line it will be dependent on how deep Hasbro are willing to go with this Kenner paint job variant line? The first Fortnite figure from the new Hasbro license with Epic Games has revealed as The Foundation. The new 6 inch line will launch with the first of 'The Seven' and will be titled the Victory Royale Series. The Foundation will come with 20 points of articulation and premium decor. He will include the Foudational 'Brella Glider and back bling. The figure is listed as the Zero Crisis Edition and will feature special exclusive packaging that will be exclusive to 'The Seven'. Listed on the official Disney Store page of Taobao in The Far East is this new version of Falcon in the Marvel Select 7 inch line from Diamond Select. (Update: the page listing has now been removed) The figure is a Disney Store exclusive, and will also be joined on shelves by a repack of the comic book Winter Soldier figure. The Falcon figure, named very clearly as Captain America, features the Falcon & Winter Soldier Disney+ logo on the packaging, indicating this is an outfit from the show and therefore a spoiler. It is very comic book inspired, and may turn out to be just that - although the design is the same as a Hasbro 12 inch figure and the Captain America shield included is the MCU version. The set also features removable wings, the Redwing drone and alternative hand options. The listing has the figure in stock now. Mezco are releasing a special 3-pack of One:12 Collective figures from the Zack Synder Justice League movie. The figures of Superman & Batman been released previously, while Flash was teased but never unveiled. The three figures are presented in a deluxe box set with updates for each character and a new light-up mother box accessory. Superman is based on the original Batman vs Superman One:12 release with the updated suit, wired cape, and alternative hands. He will also feature three head options, including one with laser beam eye effects Batman is also taken from the BvS original, with an update to the costume. He will come with two masked heads and a third unmasked. Along with the usual variety of hand options, Batman comes with a wealth of accessories including Grappling Gun, Grappling Hooks, Batarangs and a Parademon Rifle. The Flash figure from Justice League was first mentioned in 2017 when Mezco revealed their Aquaman figure. It never made it to release, so this is the first appearance in the line for the Ezra Miller Flash. The figure has two head options and a selection of hands. There are then a number of shaped Speed Force FX lightning pieces that attach to the figure for Speed Force posing. Of course, to build your One:12 Collective Justice League, you will also need to track down the previously released Aquaman and Wonder Woman. At this stage, Cyborg does not exist in One:12 format so we will be waiting to see if Mezco goes down that route to round off the Justice League. Following her live-action debut in The Mandalorian, Season 2, Bo-Katan Kryze was released in March 2021 in the 6 inch Star Wars Black Series in the 4th wave of the new Galaxy Collection packaging. Bo-Katan is the 10th figure in The Mandalorian collection, with the side art of Bo-Katan in her helmet following on from the Remnant Stormtrooper figure. "A gifted warrior, Bo-Katan Kryze is a legendary Mandalorian. She refused to align with the Empire's occupation of Mandalore" The likeness to actor Katee Sackhoff is impressive, both in sculpt and the applied face print tech that brings out the subtle shading of the facial features, the eyes and the lip colour. The hair is sculpted behind the headband and shaped to accept the helmet accessory while remaining accurate to the onscreen look. The body is all-new, with the usual mix of an undersuit - in grey - on top of which the various elements of Mandalorian armour are placed. The key colour theme of the armoured panes is the blue of the Nite Owls with the Nite Owl emblem placed on each shoulder as a decal. The chest armour is a metallic finish and over this are a couple of sections that recreate battle damage and scratches. A similar level of weathering is applied on the blue armour panels in grey to recreate dirt buildup. The outfit is completed by the brown leather look belt which is an individual piece in soft rubber. This includes twin holsters and a number of pouches and a painted buckle section. While it arrives attached to the figure, Bo-Katan's jetpack is removable - plugged into the back of the figure by a single peg & socket combination. It is a new piece, smaller and slimmer than those included with the likes of Mando, or Boba Fett. It will likely go on to be re-used for Koska Reeves - and it could also go on for re-use in any update to Sabine Wren. Bo-Katan is armed with a pair of Mandalorian blasters. These are not the same as the ones used with Sabine and the recent Clone Wars Mando's - they are a smaller design with a painted brown grip and smaller trigger. The blasters fit into either hand, with both left and right having a trigger finger that slots into place. They also snugly slot into the holsters when not in use. The helmet is also new, cast in a softer plastic with an articulated range finder that can rotate from the upright position to a sighting position over the eye. The helmet is well painted with two tones of blue and an off white faceplate with Nite Owl iconography. The visor is painted in gloss black. It fits neatly over the head, covering the head and chin fully. The helmet is proportioned well to the body, not looking oversized - no with any evidence of warping that I can see. Bo-Katan has a total articulation count of 19, including the newer dual joint neck which supports the head posing - and the new butterfly shoulders. The latter do not offer a huge range of motion, being sat well back behind the sides of the chest armour. While elbows and knees are single jointed, they both bend well past 90 degrees thanks to the shaping of the design which also enhances the visuals of the figure as neither joint has any visible pins and overlaps when in the neutral position, disguising the joint. While a flight stand is not included, the articulation for Bo-Katan works really well with an aftermarket stand for flying posing. All the joints on Bo-Katan are secure and hold their pose and position well. Bo-Katan Kryze is an impressive figure overall with every element executed really well. The likeness is impressive, and the weathering - while subtle - does work well on the armour. The helmet works and looks fine when worn, not oversized or warped and without any detriment to the head - although paint rub may be an issue with regular use. We even get a new jetpack and blasters which bodes well for future Mandalorian figures including the incoming Koska Reeves. This wave is being released on figure every 2-months in the US via Target, while International Customers need to wait until the end of the year. The Shriek figure, with BAF, will come packed with a sound-wave accessory piece, display stand, collectors cards and the two arms of the Jokerbot. A second version of Shriek was also listed using the same images, but it has since been revealed that the other version will not -as first thought - be the same identical figure but an unmasked version. About a week ago, Target listed the DC Multiverse Shriek figure from the Jokerbot BAF wave. And at the same time they put up a listing for a non-exclusive Shriek, using the exact same images. This listing by Target has since been updated, now revealing the alternative Shriek to be an unmasked version coming in July 2021. The rest of the figure, and the sound wave accessories, remain the same as the BAF wave version. The unmasked general release will come in a bit cheaper than the exclusive with Target listing it at $19.99 vs the $24.99 of the figure and BAF part. Hasbro have announced an updated animatronic Grogu figure from The Mandalorian. The new version, themed around Season 2, is titled the 'Galactic Snakin' Grogu and features a number of accessories that he will react with if placed in his hand or even in his mouth. The figure features series-inspired sound effects and is dressed in a soft-goods robe. He will have articulation on the head, ears, and arms and the eyes will also blink. NECA have tweeted this image, indicating that a Shredder from the 1991 sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Secret of the Ooze, is in the works to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the movie release. We have confirmation of another McFarlane DC Multiverse Justice League exclusive, this time the unmasked version of the Ben Affleck Batman figure. This variant of the main Justice League Batman will be an Entertainment Earth exclusive. Like the main release, the Exclusive Batman will feature a batarang and grappling gun. The usual base and art card will also be included.
