We first saw the Iron Studios Dungeons and Dragons statue of Tiamat battling our heroes at their Inside the Studio event last month. We now have the official press release for this enormous and insanely detailed 1/20 scaled piece. It depicts the dragon Tiamat with wings spread on a rock diomara base. Each of the five heads is sculpted in an attacking pose and surrounding the dragon are our heroes. Eric is positioned with his shield raised, while Diana leaps over an attack with her staff. Presto is retrieving a spell from his hat while Bobby and Uni are preparing to face down the beast. To the edge of the piece, Hank is drawing an energy arrow on his bow, while our final hero Diana is shown partially translucent as she uses her invisibility cloak to escape from the dragon. The set measures 22 inches in height, width, and depth and weighs 40lbs (18kg). It will be released in the 2nd Quarter of 2022 and has a US RRP of $1399.99 In the barren and inhospitable terrain of a medieval world from another dimension called the Realm, six young warriors raise their mystical weapons to face the most fearsome and dangerous creature in this universe. The colossal figure, who is the protagonist of this work, faces the heroic group, and he is feared even by the powerful and evil sorcerer known as Venger. This centerpiece is the supreme dragon Tiamat, derived from a dragon goddess in Mesopotamian mythology. The mighty monster has five heads with different colors and powers. The main head is red, this being the only one that speaks, and it also expels fire flames. On the right is the white head, which fires freezing rays, and the green head, whose power is a breath of poison gas. On the left side is the black head, which throws acid, and the blue head, capable of emitting rays. Wave 4 of the Diamond Select Lord of the Rings figures has been a moving feast since it was first shown in February 2021 with a Gandalf the Grey figure displayed alongside a Gollum. Since that point, the Gandalf figure has remained constant, but soon after we were told Gollum was not in wave 4 and was being replaced by the Uruk Hai Orc figure. Gollum was then announced as an SDCC exclusive this Summer complete with his raft and an invisible version of Frodo - but limited in numbers. DST said this was the only way to get Gollum. Roll on a little and Diamond then said Gollum was being packed with Gandalf in wave 4, this was retracted as originally a static Gollum was planned as an accessory and then withdrawn so an articulated version could be done. And in a new twist seems he is not and we have a Deluxe release of him instead, meaning the SDCC version is not the only way to get Gollum - but is the only way to get the boat and the invisible Frodo (and possibly some accessories). The deluxe Gollum features the figure plus three head options. He is packed with a rock accessory which is slightly generic but looks most like the one from his cave under the Goblin City - which if I am being pedantic makes this a release from The Hobbit trilogy and not LOTR. The blurb also talks about some specific character accessories - these may or may not be the fish he comes within the deluxe set, or the alternative hand holding the One Ring. Deluxe Gollum is due for release in November 2021. Gollum gets the deluxe treatment in this new action figure release! NECA has shared a stop-motion video on their social feeds promoting their new Gargoyles line of action figures with Goliath, the first figure due for release in the next few weeks. The video did include, as we expect from NECA, a teaser for what is coming next and towards the end of the sequence, we do get a first look at a Demona figure which is one of the multiple other figures NECA have in development for the line. It seems the Marvel Legends Infinity Saga Captain America from Avengers: Infinity War is coming to Smyths Toys in September/October. The figure was initially listed as only available in the UK via Hasbro Pulse. Other stores that had put up pre-orders had done so via import stock at a higher price point. Now it seems Hasbro is supplying Smyths with the figure at the £24.99 RRP. There are no pre-order options, so we will have to wait for this to come into stock for home delivery or starts to arrive on store shelves. The full galleries for the McFarlane Spawn figures have been released as pre-orders open up for the figures at Target in the US and via Big Bad Toy Store. The figures of Raven Spawn and The Redeemer are general releases. Raven will feature his axe, scythe and chains while Redeemer is armed with a sword. A variant of Redeemer also showed up among the images and we would assume this is a Platinum chase figure or a Gold Label Walmart exclusive - that is to be confirmed. The Gunslinger Spawn is a Target exclusive, which has disappointed many US fans. He features a pistol, rifle and rifle holster. The two larger figures are The Clown and The Redeemer. The Clown is a deluxe release due to his bulk and his enormous weaponry backpack which features a missile launcher and twin machine guns. If that wasn't enough he also features a knife and razor blade. The Violator is a 9-inch tall figure featuring an articulated jaw. The packaging for the figures is the usual McFarlane window box with variant colours used for the box and the Spawn logo - so the overall look is not fully uniform. NECA have released the full details for their Ultimate Universal Monsters Wolfman from the 1941 Lon Chaney Jr. film. The figure will include three heads, with one human and two Wolf portraits. Hands and feet can also be swapped out between human and Wolf. forms Also included are an animal trap, stand, and Wolf head cane. While NECA have said that not all their Universal Monster figures will be released as both colour and black and white, the fact this one is listed as the colour version indicates a black and white is also in the works.
